    ⚖️ Dissension is a funny thing, it can be tame or hell,
    The difference of opinion, sometimes out right we need SPELL…
    Like a SMOKER may be blowing smoke, and we see it arise,
    Debate can bring a TIRADE…and of course there’s choosing sides
    The tension grows, you’ll need a KNIFE to cut through new-found nemesis…
    But here we’re seeing no discord, as these three LEFT THE PREMISES! ⚖️

    Ok…So…This one might call for a thinking cap. Premise, premises, propositions…A poser? Perhaps. And alliteration aside, that’s why I laid out a little groundwork above…⬆️

    With no new words to deal with, and a repeat anagram in FINKE, there was no debating over the deciphering of our words this morning. Two Early Birds did have the briefest blink of the eye with SMOKER, but that quickly blew over. But the solve did cause a bit of dissension amongst them. The argument being…who easily caught on to the double entendre and gave it ar-rest, and who was guilty of not picking up on Jeff’s big clue. And with that…we’ll motion forward…

    Seeing three law students leaving class, we overhear one of them looking to continue their discussion on propositions…but with the others, it’s not the case…The second man, (with a small tear in his pant leg), is looking to dismiss the premise – leave it all behind – and instead makes the case for having a beer. Their female counterpart, in total agreement, suggests they cross the street and indulge…(Debates the case for passing the bar…right)? So what we’re seeing here is that…they’ve LEFT THE PREMISES. Literally, and figuratively. And while it might not be the easiest solve of the week, I’ll direct your attention to exhibits A, B and C above…which might just crack this case wide open…

    Jeff’s Gems? The awning over the entrance to the establishment across the street reads “Dominicks”. And if you take a close look at the woman’s backpack, you’ll see a water bottle visible through the netting. Proof the girl’s got a thirst for knowledge!

    So, There you have it Folks, Done. Have a great day. Be well, stay safe…And I’ll leave you with some brief Law-related humor… The mayor in my city passed a law saying that male best friends have to meet for lunch at least once a week…Ok, well maybe it’s not really a law…it’s more of a mandate…⚖️🙋🏻‍♀️

    • You can pass a law prohibiting some act. Car you pass a law requiring
      an act ?

      • They do it all the time. The Tax requires one to figure out how much tax to pay and dispatch a check by a date certain. Try not putting postage on a letter you mail.

  3. When the smoke became so thick that you could cut it with a KNIFE, and a TIRADE ensued, the crowd didn’t need to SPELL it out for the SMOKER…he knew enough, and quickly LEFT THE PREMISES…🚬

    🐖 They said it was a SMOKER, but whole pigs there would be cooked,
    More than one KNIFE was visible, fires burned where ‘er you looked…
    But neighbors felt that they’d been duped, a TIRADE soon we’d hear,
    They felt the invitation didn’t SPELL things out too clear…
    And after smelling fires burn, they came out on their terraces…
    To say, “No, you can’t do this here…it’s best you LEFT THE PREMISES…”🐖

  4. Here are some photos of the actual Dominick’s. It’s described on Tripadvisor as “a rambling, indoor-outdoor institution embedded within University of Michigan’s leafy Ann Arbor campus.” Since Jumble Jeff attended the University of Michigan, I’m sure he has many fond memories of the place!

    • One of my favorite places to hang out with my friends and have mason jars of beer. I need to get back to AA just to go there with my family and bore them with stories of my youth.

    • $19.25 is some “Snack”! 😂 I’m having inflation shock again! (But really, those prices aren’t that bad.)

  5. I did fine on the anagrams today but the solution was difficult for me. The cartoon was a lot of fun! Good week so far……

  6. Managed a quick solve on clue but got stuck on felt vs left. Nevertheless, still stimulates the brain for a day of writing and thank you Angela for your forever in depth descriptives on your jumble days.

  7. Good morning. Not much hesitation on the words today and once I put down the letters I saw LEFT right away and then saw PREMISES for a quick solve. Loved your video song. I wouldn’t go out of my way to watch his films but he is entertaining. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  8. Pretty easy anagrams this Friday morning….although TIRADE did give me pause. My mind was not in tune with the puzzle clues, and therefore did not reason out that people were leaving. Thus, LEFT did not come to mind. It only came to pass after seeing and taking out the letters LEFT. Then mused over other letters, saw PREMISES, did a short double-take, then finally put it all together with a smile. Said to myself…Now that was a clever puzzle !!

  9. After an easy week for me, with no problems, I totally “bombed” today’s answer! I picked out FLIP the SEMESTER! I thought, “that can’t be right” they’re just going for a “brewskie”, it doesn’t imply they are done with class and turning over to another semester! And of course everything these days is Flip this and Flip that on tv. Now I’m over rationalizing! It was just WRONG! 🤣 Have a beautiful, and hopefully, sun-filled 🌞 weekend!

  10. I’m surprised because the first thing I came up with was Flip the Semester, just like Kimberly. Figuring this was wrong, I  then went looking for a verb with four letters. I found Left and unscrambled the rest. Wishing all a fun weekend.

  11. Anagrams were an amazingly quick solve for a Friday,quickly followed by the cartoon solution.Left popped into mind quickly,then given the law school references and available letters,premises completed the puzzle and the week,preceding the upcoming weekend.

  13. Well I’m definitely in good company this morning as I too saw “flip the semester” at first. Had to break out paper and pencil, put the paper down for a bit and take a second look and alas, found premises then left so all in all it was a successful morning though a good workout. Wishing all of you a good day.

  14. Hi all – Well, this was a challenge – in fact, the worst fail I’ve had in recent memory. Couldn’t get the last word or the answer, so couldn’t use the letters to back into either one. In fact, I couldn’t even guess a four letter word for the answer, except ‘felt’, and the dialog didn’t help at all. Threw in the towel after about 15 minutes. Still, it’s fun to have these once in awhile and at least I don’t have to wait until tomorrow or over the weekend to kick myself! 😂
    (And just when I finally needed to select two things to vote for in the poll, it looks like it’s back to only accepting one choice again.)

    Got a chuckle at ‘passing the bar’, Angela, and how did you know that “You say po-tay-to and I say po-tah-to” was running through my head yesterday? 😱
    I remember a comedy sketch where two singers are reading the sheet music and going “You say potato and I say potato, you say tomato and I say tomato….This doesn’t make any sense at all!”

And Sesame Street has had its fun with it too. It’s just that kind of a song…easy to “pun” with. And after HEARING of your TRIALS with today’s puzzle, I think you’d have enjoyed yourself this morning should you have been privy to the Early Bird’s “discussion”. Talk about a classic!🤦🏻‍♀️😂 If I knew what would enSUE, I’d have taped it…”Passing the bar”? Tks. Turns out it’s an Italian Restaurant, but it fits just the same! 😉 Have a good one, Steve.
