  1. Today was no big deal. Anagrams and solutions came easy. My time was 1:19 for anagrams and solution.
Loved watching the Women’s playoffs tonight. Surprising outcomes!
Gonna be a good BB weekend!
    Hope y’all are having fun…..

  2. Good Morning, Everyone.
    🥩WHERE’S THE BEEF…AND THE CHILI SAUCE? 🥩

🎶 He was more than a Superstar, he was a King…to every young American boy he could do anything…Now no one’s counting, but I think we know the score…they don’t make heroes like the Babe no more…🎶 “The Babe” – Terry Cashman 1999 https://tinyurl.com/4333s3hm

🥩 He hardly need EXERT himself, as home runs he would TALLY
The man a definite powerhouse, known for his winning rallies…
He let nothing get in his way, no pitcher there to HAMPER,
His prowess with the long ball…There’d hardly be a damper…
    * Ray Kelly was his MASCOT, little Yankee through and true,
A little boy who stole his heart…in pinstripes white and blue,
We’re talking ‘bout the Babe here…the man, the legend great…
Did everything with largess…more than one way AT THE PLATE! 🥩

Babe Ruth. https://tinyurl.com/2cxaakjt Larger than life in so many ways, and as well known for his voracious appetites, as he was his prowess AT THE PLATE. And a timely character to focus on today, with Baseball Season having officially opened this week. But what’s missing in our puzzle this morning is chili sauce…which the Babe used to smother all over his raw steaks. Yes, you heard me, RAW steaks. And you can read about it here. https://tinyurl.com/e2hszvzt The man definitely swung a lot differently than most of us when it came to food…so I think you’ll find this an interesting read…Especially the title heading above paragraph four…Yep, Babe was definitely the Man AT THE PLATE… in more ways than one…

Ok…our words. Nothing new, and just as y’day, David’s slid in one old anagram: REETX. And with no balking, the Early Birds stepped up to the plate, and easily hit our words and the solve right out of the park…All in all? We’ve definitely been pitched another home run today!

So, Babe eating dinner. But as I mentioned above, I don’t see the bottle of chili sauce at the table. I see salt and pepper shakers, Babe’s mug of beer at his left hand, his companions stemmed glass, and a bud vase. And one can’t help but notice how the Babe’s steak is twice the size of his companions. You can also see that Babe is cutting his meat the way a lefty would, with his friend doing the opposite. And it’s interesting to point out that although the Babe pitched and hit lefty, he golfed, and wrote as a righty. Ambidextrous…or just one of us left-right confused individuals? I guess it really didn’t matter, because the Babe always had the right stuff! But the clincher here? The couple at the back…Obviously star-struck, they’re seen barely able to contain their excitement at seeing the Babe in such close proximity…And there’s no miSTEAKing the fact that they’d probably love to hit him up for an autograph!

So, There you have it Folks, Done. Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…and may you always swing for the fences…no matter how high the STEAKS…🥩🙋🏻‍♀️

    * Ray Kelly…. https://tinyurl.com/hbm4z23k

  3. 🍝 When he looked AT THE PLATE after plate of food being served, the TALLY was high…and he wished this MASCOT costume didn’t HAMPER his movements so much, since he’d have to EXERT himself just to eat! 🍝

⚾️ He used to be the team’s MASCOT, for years when he was young,
And now he’s playing second base, but wished he could expunge
His record so far since despite the effort he puts in,
It seems he does EXERT himself…yet still he doesn’t win
His nerves they seem to HAMPER him, his TALLY of strikes great…
Maybe because fans call out “Mule” when he is AT THE PLATE! ⚾️

    • At the beginning, I thought the answer was going to be “AT HIS PRIME”. That didn’t work out and I finally saw the correct answer.

      • Hi Mike. Good Morning. Long time no see…It’s funny you say that, because it sailed by me for a fleeting moment, too. I do the solve without the words, but when I glanced over at them, I saw there was no “I”, and that’s when I dished up PLATE. It’s definitely a clever solve. Hope all is well, I know there was some wild weather in your area. Glad to see you again, Mike. Have a good one. 🥩🙋🏻‍♀️

        • Angela–I recently came across this video of Paul McCartney on the Colbert show from a couple of years ago. He talks about the Beatles first appearance at the Ed Sullivan theater, which is where the Colbert show is shot. It’s worth a viewing. https://tinyurl.com/rywhxdhx

          • “The Beatles are probably the only group ever where you can be 10 years old or 90, and you will know at least 1 of their songs”…So true, right? It’s one of the comments listed. I love reading how people are affected by certain things. Thanks for this, Mike. I really enjoyed it. There’s such an ageless whimsy and grace about Sir Paul. He never fails to deliver…And I never tire of listening to him. He definitely is “a genius”! 🎸🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. Mascot gave me reason to pause, but given the letters and Babe ready to eat if not hit,at the plate, was a quick solve.Being away ,I was absent a real paper newspaper, but thanks to the Ark Dem link,I could answer the Jumble online.Enjoy the lovely warm Easter weekend.

    • Good Morning, Professor. I have to agree with you that Mascot definitely is masterfully anagrammed, while the solve is a quick and easy one. As for the warm weather though? We had freezing temps y’day and today here in NY…hopefully something warmer will hatch 🐣 for Easter. Enjoy your trip, Prof! 🥩🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Hit it out of the park today. Anagrams and cartoon answer were easy solves. Wishing all of you a good day.

    • I’m sure you did, Betty! 👏🏻👏🏻 And wishing you a good day, too…🥩🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Hi all – I’ve finally gotten to the point of recognizing MASCOT, so no problem with the words. I almost went to the letters for the answer, but realized from the cartoon at the last moment that PLATE was in there.

I was curious about two things in the cartoon. One, it looked like the steak had a T-bone in it, but it seemed to me he might prefer a porterhouse, right? 😉 So I looked on Wikipedia and learned that the two cuts are closely related, even to the point of the term being somewhat interchangeable:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-bone_steak
Then I looked at your excellent link Angela, and found that they actually mentioned porterhouses in the story.

Two, what kind of beer is in that mug? That I couldn’t find, but I’m betting on Schlitz or Pabst Blue Ribbon.

I’m pretty sure my wife wouldn’t say that they’re eating left/right handed, but rather that the Babe’s friend is simply eating “correctly”; i.e. European style with the fork in the left hand at all times.

    Good wishes to everyone.

“The Warriors’ short-lived and not very popular MASCOT ‘Thunder’ was required to over-EXERT himself at every TALLY, but realized that the strain would HAMPER his well-being and disappeared.”

    • Hey Steve…Yes, the link was a good find. It’s amazing the things that are RIGHT out there at our FINGERtips…Sooooo, along that line, trust me on this…I definitely know about things European…and I most definitely know/suffer about/with the left-right thing…so, read this first paragraph. https://tinyurl.com/vrbypzsm You “normal” 😂 right handed people have no idea what a struggle it is! 😉🤦🏻‍♀️ Have a good one, Steve. Be well and stay safe..🥩🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Good evening. Never got a chance to look at today’s paper as I had my neighbor take it while I slept over my sons house after getting the second shot. He was worried about me because he went home from work a short while after getting his and had 10 hours of cold and hot sweats with 102 fever. Thank God I am ok. Just had a little soreness in the arm and a little in the shoulder and neck plus a little more tired than usual. Nothing that a little good nights sleep won’t cure. Until Easter Sunday take care and stay safe.
