  1. Happy Wednesday everyone! The one thing I’ve noticed about pianists is that they either have really good posture, or their face is literally inches away from their fingers while they play. I suppose for a musician playing a dramatic piece of music, or one that is perhaps a bit of a challenge, a slouched posture is a natural response to the demands of the piece. But if you’ve got the God-given talent to play the piano in the first place, I don’t see how any tweaks or adjustments to one’s posture would be of any benefit — other than keeping them from looking like a hunchback!

    There weren’t any new clue words to be had this morning. Both the first and last anagrams were new while the ones in the middle have been used in the past. I didn’t struggle with any of them, but the numerous vowels within MANAGE had me taking a few extra looks.

    My first thought was that we were seeing a music teacher helping her student get some practice, but the violin in her hand and the inquisitve nature of her dialogue leads me to believe that she’s most likely a fellow musician. There were several details within the panel that caught my attention. The most obvious was the Jumble logo in cursive above the keys of the piano. For those of you that are skilled in playing and reading music, just like our talented cartoonist Jumble Jeff is, I’m quite certain the keys she’s pressing would correspond to the notes being displayed on the screen. Did you notice the lines at the base of the laptop indicating the computer was resting on a glossy surface? They were rather faint, but they were definitely my favorite detail to find!

    The final solve was an anagram consisting of 10 letters. Six of them were consonants and four were vowels. I thought David did a beautiful job with the layout as it kept the answer well hidden. With the subject matter of the cartoon being music, and the fact that notes were displayed but not mentioned, I figured I had my logical starting point. With NOTE crossed out, THEM was found after a few moments of staring at the remainder. All that was left to do was tack on ‘DE’ and call it a day. Have a wonderful Wednesday, and keep Jumbling!

  6. Rapid rout of the anagrams. Honey, I did manage to thwart the puzzle but don’t want to dwell on it. I really enjoyed the music quiz and got 9 of 10. I didn’t realize George Strait was bigger than Garth Brooks in that area. It’s warming up here. Stay safe.

  7. 🍯 Taking tips from the internet, he’d DENOTE THEM, and then try to MANAGE to THWART the bear, by leaving opened jars of HONEY at the edge of the woods, hoping it would DWELL there and not enter his yard…🍯

    🤷🏻‍♂️ He wasn’t good with names it seemed, his memory quite runny,
    He tried association, yet he only recalled HONEY…
    Of all the people gathered there, just her name rang a bell,
    The others just would THWART him, there was no way he could tell
    He tried to DWELL on faces…’stead of MANAGE haw and hem…
    He def needed a sure-fire way that he could DENOTE THEM…🤷🏻‍♂️

  10. No problem w the anagrams or the cartoon solution,though at first I thought the 4 letter word would be note,rather than “them”,but needing note for denote,left them as the second word.Have a happy and blessed Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent.

        • My thoughts and prayers are with her. What’s happening down there is terrible. I don’t know Texas, besides the fact that it’s huge, but the stories coming to light are difficult to digest. I just read this about the mayor of a city called Colorado City, and his cavalier insensitivity is off the charts. I was able to read his statement in it’s entirety, and it makes one question people’s humanity. Mind boggling. I hope things improve, Prof, and that she’ll soon be safely back home.   12. Like Chuck, I thought the last word would be note but couldn’t figure out what to do with the left over letters so once I found “denote”, everything worked out nicely. Wishing all of you a good day.

  13. Hi all – No problem with the words today. For the answer I thought “Record them” or even “Manage them” fit, but then I saw the notes and got it without needing the letters.

    Passed the quiz at 80%, missed 5 and 10, guessed right for #2.

    • I don’t remember what #5 was, (I should screen shoot it at the end), but the last question? It mentioned “Troubadour”, which was a huge hit for Strait, not Brooks…So knowing that was the key. But I do agree, that anyone who may not be a fan of country music, would gravitate towards Brooks, since he’s been so visible all these years…more mainstream, and therefore much more widely known. 🤠🙋🏻‍♀️

  14. No problem with the anagrams but the solution took longer. I kept studying the letters until they fell in place. 80% on the MikeQuiz, a gr8 score for me….. Sunny clear and windy in the World of LA with predictions of 80s over the weekend!
