    💉 You have to love a doctor who has a bag of tricks…
    There’s nothing worse than a scared child, it makes a Mother sick..
    This doctor likes to SWITCH it up, his manner’s not OPAQUE,
    He tries to keep the crestFALLEN from being more afraid..
    He’s got a little dino, a DONKEY maybe too
    That bag of his in INDIGO keeps kids from being blue…
    He can BREACH their fear and dread, and prep them for a shot,
    Before they know it it’s all done…the apprehension not…
    He’s kind and he’s most caring, vaccinations they go quick
    The Magic touch goes hand-in-hand with BAG OF “PEDIATRICKS”! 💉

    I’m sure many of you out there have found yourselves in a situation similar to what we’re seeing here this morning. Young children, needing a vaccination or a flu shot and being scared out of their wits. And it’s not easy for us as adults either. Feeling so helpless, knowing that they’re frightened, and there’s not much we can do except tell them to hold our hand, close their eyes and think of something good. Well, thank God for Pediatricians like this one here. PATIENT and caring enough to calm a child, all the while distracting them from what’s to come. So I say let’s hear it for doctors like this. They’re definitely a SHOT in the arm!

    Ok…Our words. If you remember last Sunday, we had all new anagrams…and for a moment there, I thought we’d have a repeat performance today. But, no. Close, but no cigar…DIONGI, from August 16th, 2013, popped up, darkening my wishes. Oh well, I took a SHOT. But we do seem to have another newbie to add to the David Hoyt Database…BREACH…And new words are always an added bonus, don’t you think? As for a stumper? Well, after close EXAMINATION…the Early Birds weren’t stumped at all…They just rolled up their sleeves, got to work, and passed with flying colors…And I didn’t have to NEEDLE them at all…

    And now our cartoon. So TBT…today, with vaccinations at the forefront of everyone’s mind, it took me a moment or two to unmask my feelings about our puzzle. But not wanting to get STUCK on it, I shook it off and PLUNGED ahead…Finding ourselves in a Pediatrician’s office, we see a Doctor, a Mom, and a little boy I’ll call Joey. Well aware of the impending swoon that may be coming, the Doctor’s donned a multi-colored clowns wig and a red nose. And he’s doing his best to make little Joey comfortable, by offering a toy dinosaur, which Joe seems drawn to. And Mom, being thrilled with her sons reaction, dubs our doctor a “Magician”…Now…if THAT hint didn’t hit you over the head with a rubber chicken…Well…Anyway, here goes. We have a Doctor, specializing in PEDIATRICS, pulling toys out of a BAG, and he’s being called a MAGICian…He had a…BAG OF “PEDIATRICKS”!… https://tinyurl.com/yyfqwjkj And zip it up…All done!!!

    Eye candy? The requisite stethoscope is visible, and what appears to be a tongue depressor is in the doctors pocket. (But that’s not very hygienic, so I might be wrong). And in the bag of TRICKS we can see a doll and a teddy bear, while the doctor’s holding the dinosaur that’s spoken of in the dialogue. And there on the table is the syringe, a cotton ball and a band-aid. The TRICKS of the trade…But it’s the single little teardrop on Joey’s cheek that’s the money SHOT today. Because with Joey now smiling, it’s easy to see how this doctor has more than a little patience with his little patients…

    So, There you have it, Folks, Done. Have a good one…Be well, stay safe…and…Here’s looking at you, KID! 💉🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🐴 After hiring “BAG OF PEDIATRICS”, a decorating firm catering to the offices of pediatricians, they saw that large pieces of the OPAQUE, INDIGO-tinted DONKEY, duck and pony statues had FALLEN…and they knew they had to SWITCH companies ASAP…despite it being a BREACH of contract…🐴

    👗 A mini skirt with OPAQUE tights…her fashion swayed that way,
    She’d SWITCH up outfits all the time…red, INDIGO or gray…
    There was no BREACH of confidence, her stylist made a name,
    The DONKEY logo on her clothes…she’d FALLEN for the fame…
    But now she needs a new outfit…she needs it really quick,
    A dinner’s being held for Dr…Ben-Abe Gregory Frick…
    He heads the ward for children, and there’s no way she would nix
    A soiree that’s so aptly named Doctor “BAG OF PEDIATRICS”…👗

    Opaque took me the longest since I remembered struggling with Indigo. Pedia wasn’t too hard to unscramble once I had the rest of the answer. Loved the drawing and answer. I enjoyed catching up yesterday on The Twilight Zone exchange and videos. Like you, Angela, and Betty I was a big fan as a kid. I learned a lot from this article about Rod Serling, which quotes his daughter,

    • Thanks for the information, Caroline. I remember both of the episodes mentioned in the article. Another favorite of mine was “Willoughby” starring James Daly. My husband was a huge fan of the show as well. I actually bought him the entire set of DVD’s. Have a good one.

      • I haven’t seen many episodes as an adult but I’d like to. I’m not sure if I saw “Willoughby.” A friend recently told me of a Serling movie available on You Tube called “Patterns.” It’s about corporate America and is set in NYC.

  5. Anagrams were a snap even indigo and opaque .The multitude of letters threw me for a loop relative to solving the cartoon,as I was looking for a word ending in ing.Enjoy the second to last NFL Sunday.

  6. Hi all – I had to stare for a minute to see DONKEY; the other words were ok.
    I noticed there was no “ING” or “TION” in the answer letters. Thought about PATIENCE/PATIENTS or PRACTICE. Figured the two letter word was OF, then stared for awhile before realizing he had a BAG. Seeing and crossing out TRICKS showed the pun.

  7. Clever puzzle this morning. No problem with the anagrams or cartoon answer. We had a wonderful pediatrician. My daughter absolutely hated the tongue depressor so whenever we went to see him she would put her little hand up and say “No Stick”. He told her if she opened her mouth wide enough he wouldn’t need to use it and so she did. After that whenever we went to see him he would put up his hand and say “I know Susan, No Stick”. Did you know that pediatricians usually wear bow ties so that they children can’t pull on their neckties if they get upset? Of course, I’m not sure if pediatricians dress that formally any more.   8. Interesting Jumble today, easy enough anagrams but the solution evaded me. The thing I always liked about Pediatricians was how seriously they work at being non-intimidating to their little patients. They always seem to have a stuffed Teddy Bear attached to their stethoscope and a bunch of whacky buttons on their lab coat.
    At first I didn’t like the cartoon solution but on further examination the dialogue and drawing all pointed to the solution. Another new week in SoCal starting with around an inch of much needed rain and predictions of at least 3 more storms over the next 7 days. Now if they could just figure out where all that vaccine is hidden…..!!

  9. Good afternoon. This one took me forever to get. I put it aside and came back after putting up laundry. I finally got Indigo but couldn’t get Opaque. The cartoon answer also took a lot of time to get. I realized what the first two words were and seeing the quotation marks for the last one I recognized where the K had to go. Nice song choice Angela. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
