  1. Good Morning, Everyone. 🧑🏻‍🚀 THE REAL SKY KING? 🧑🏻‍🚀

🎶 You’re clear out of this world….When I’m looking at you. I hear out of this world….The music that no mortal ever knew…🎶 “Out of This World” – Miss Ella Fitzgerald 1961 https://tinyurl.com/yyuot8ua

🧑🏻‍🚀 It wasn’t on the high seas, but instead was up in space,
But Baumgartner used PIRACY and he controlled the pace
You’ll see him here in pictures, a SHRIMP is how he’ll look,
So tiny way up there in space…marking World Record books…
He learned to GOVERN skydiving, ‘twas not FUTILE to he,
Nothing IRONIC ‘bout his work, a true daredevil be…
The jump 128K…Here’s to his HEALTH we cheer…
For what he did in 2012…the HEIGHT OF HIS CAREER! 🧑🏻‍🚀

FELL, FELL…This might be a first for me, Jumble wise. Today’s featured guest? Definitely over my head…I know this must have made news at the time, but I have to be honest…I don’t remember this at all! So instead of trying to talk up something I’ve no knowledge of, I’m just going to give you a few links that I found interesting…This one showing the actual HIGHlights of the record breaking jump… https://tinyurl.com/y6jzajj9

So…Keeping with this honesty thing, I have to say that I’m surprised to find that all of our anagrams this morning seem to be new. And that’s a pretty HIGH achievement for a Sunday, don’t you think? And while our words are all old favorites, they’ve been seen fairly recently, so that may explain why none of the Early Birds needed to JUMP through any hoops to get them unscrambled. Except for one of them having the slightest pause at FUTILE, it was a pretty easy FLIGHT this morning…from start to finish…

Ok…our cartoon. Today we meet daredevil Skydiver Felix Baumgartner, https://tinyurl.com/zboxzth making his unprecedented supersonic jump, on October 12th, 2012. https://tinyurl.com/yybalvxq And it was the mention of the 128,000 feet that tipped me off to today’s solution, the HEIGHT. And since I like to solve the puzzle before I tackle the words, I studied the cartoon and took a shot at the rest… The dialogue of “he’s going to break the sound barrier” made me think that this had to be a CAREER-making FEET, I mean feat…So I put them together…And JUMP for joy! I got it. The HEIGHT OF HIS CAREER! https://tinyurl.com/yxnhgblc…HIGH Five, David! A good one!

Eye candy? Jeff’s giving us a good view of who seem to be roommates watching the jump on YouTube…But look in the background. There’s another character…a guy seen in the doorway, walking nonchalantly while having a drink. I guess he just didn’t FALL for all the hype…

So, There you have it, Folks, Done. Have a good one. Be well, and stay safe out there. Me? CHUTE…For some strange reason I have such a sudden urge for a cup Maxwell House Coffee! 🧑🏻‍🚀🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. …And out of the Archives…Today in JUMBLE TRIVIA: The puzzle of August 10th, 2014: The question.. “Everyone loved watching Michael Jordan play at the”…And the solve? HEIGHT OF HIS CAREER 🧑🏻‍🚀🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 💽 As they sat eating SHRIMP, they discussed their concern over their clients issue with music PIRACY and the too lax restrictions that were in place to GOVERN the problem; and how IRONIC that their FUTILE attempts to improve things were affecting said clients HEALTH, now while he was at the HEIGHT OF HIS CAREER….💽

🗣 He had a lot of HEALTH issues when he was in his youth,
Kids being cruel called him a SHRIMP, IRONIC plus uncouth
Mean-spiritness did GOVERN, the bullies made him feel,
That his sense of security, their PIRACY did steal….
And reasoning proved FUTILE…but to look back it seems clear
That today the crow they’re eating boosts the HEIGHT OF HIS CAREER 🗣

  4. Hi Everyone –
Always love listening to Ella Fitzgerald. Except for thinking at first the answer would be Height of his Powers and backing into Futile, today was one of my easiest Sundays. I’ve never wanted to try skydiving or even riding in a balloon.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. I’m so with you on the HEIGHT issue. It’ll be a pretty TALL order ever getting me to skydive. And if I’m not mistaken, our Sister-in-arms, Betty is right UP there with us. Jumping, free falling, etc? All over my head! And I’m with you too on today’s puzzle. It’s as easy as it is clever. If it wasn’t for the difficulty of putting the given words into a coherent sentence and rhyme, I’d say it was HIGH up there on my list of favorites. Oh, and one more thing I’m in agreement with…Miss Ella. She was always one of the best. So there we are. Total serendipity! Have a good one, Caroline. Be well, stay safe…and keep warm. 🧑🏻‍🚀🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Personal confession time,I almost always have trouble w the Sunday’s Jumble, due to the 6 anagrams instead of the daily 4, and the increased number of letters for the cartoon solution. But today ,the 6 anagrams were an almost instant solve,w a pause on futile. Then, even w the multitude of letters, and H’s,R’s and E’s galore, the cartoon solution was an almost blind solve, with height an obvious first word.Lastly Go Browns, beat those dreaded Steelers!

    • Good Morning, Professor. Confession understood! 😉And yes, an easy, breezy one today. And good luck tonight. Be well, Prof…and stay safe out there. 👨🏻‍🚀🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Good morning. I actually had a long stop on Piracy and Futile. They both eluded me but the cartoon answer was a breeze. My first thought was Height of his descend. But checking the letters and seeing no D left the last word out. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Futile’s not a word seen very often, nor is Piracy for that matter, so I don’t think you’re alone with spending some time on them….Getting the solve is the win! Hope your morning’s going well, Paul. Stay safe and warm. 👨🏻‍🚀🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Hi all – I had to stare for a minute to get PIRACY, but got the rest. Using IC as a suffix worked for IRONIC, but I didn’t need it. I figured “OF HIS” was in the answer, but had to write the letters and see HEIGHT to get it.

    Good wishes to everyone.

That was a BONANZA of nostalgia in your post today Angela, with “Good to the last DROP” Maxwell House coffee, and Sky King in his plane which I remembered as a Beechcraft Bonanza! Of course, as often happens these days, some Internet research seems to prove that my memories are mistaken, and it was a Cessna. Here’s an episode of “Sky King”:
    https://tinyurl.com/y4cvyf23

“He thought he’d considered everything that might thwart his ability to GOVERN effectively, so it was IRONIC that it was a HEALTH crisis caused by SHRIMP obtained by foreign PIRACY that rendered his efforts FUTILE.”

    • LOL..Yep…you know me and nostalgia…it never gets old! 😂 😂 And I knew that if anyone caught my Maxwell House reference…it’d be you! 👏🏻👏🏻 Lou owes me money! Hope your day’s going well, Steve…and that you’re staying safe out there. Have a good one.👨🏻‍🚀🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Poor Lou! I feel like I’m aiding and a-BETTING your schemes. I hope there soon will be somewhere fun that you can go and spend it!

        • LOL! Aiding and a-BETTING! 👏🏻👏🏻Nice! 😉 Serves him right for doubting “you”!! 😂😂. And as for going places? It’s been so long for all of us here. The lack of social interaction takes a toll. We all just pray that it’s helping the cause…🤷🏻‍♀️🙏🏻

    • …Oh, and HAY..I caught your BONANZA too…I just inadvertently RODE past it in my haste…😉🐴🙋🏻‍♀️

        • LOL! Really? And here I was giving you credit for the Hat Trick!! While the whole time it was a HOSS of a different color! 😉🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Even though I have to keep my feet firmly planted on terra firma, I had no problem with the puzzle this morning. You are so right, Miss Angela, I am terrified of heights. I got palpitations just watching the video of Felix Baumgartner. Wishing all of you a good Sunday.

    • LOL! My Dear Miss Betty…I remembered! Birds of a feather…etc…(no pun intended)! 😂 I’m definitely a FIRM believer in the Terra FIRMa! But I meant to ask the others earlier…So, Felix? Am I the only one who drew a blank? Were you familiar with the story? 🤷🏻‍♀️ And as always, wishing you a good Sunday too. Be well, Betty…and stay safe out there.👨🏻‍🚀🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Yes, I actually was familiar with the story. I happened upon it one night when I was flipping channels. Couldn’t believe it. Way too scary for me.

  9. To the woman, TRICIA, who in the poll area this morning asked about today’s puzzle…
I spoke with David Hoyt, the puzzles’s creator, and asked if it would be ok to give you today’s puzzle, and he said it would be fine. Here’s a link https://tinyurl.com/y5djz9np for you to use that will make it available to you. After it opens, click on the little black rectangular box, reading Jumble, second at upper left, and it’ll open to display puzzle choices. Today’s, the Sunday one, will be the last one showing on the top row. I hope you enjoy it. Be well, stay safe, and have a good day. 👨🏻‍🚀🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. For me the J Sunday is usually a snap and today was no exception. I looked at the cartoon and the answer came immediately. As I worked the anagrams I assured that any circled letter would fit my solution and voila! there it was! Enjoyed your comments Angela. Everyone have a fun day!!

    • Tks, Mig. And good going. And yes, we have to admit, that between the dialogue and the graphics, Jeff does give us enough hints to succeed. Have a good one, Mig. Enjoy the games, and stay safe out there. 👨🏻‍🚀🙋🏻‍♀️

  11. Didn’t anyone else notice the jumble site reference written on Baumgartner’s left leg? (jumble.com)

    • I see it now! Amazingly good eye, Frank! 👏🏻👏🏻You win the internet today!! Thanks for the tell! Great catch! 👨🏻‍🚀🙋🏻‍♀️
