  1. This Veterans Day let us remember that freedom isn’t guaranteed. But it’s protected by the men and women in our Armed Services. To all those who secure our way of life… Thank you…and I salute you for your service and your sacrifice. God Bless America. 🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. MINCE/CNIEM = Last used on 01/28/20 as NIMCE
STYLE/SLEYT = Last used on 06/19/20 as LYSET
SPIRAL/PRILSA = Last used on 07/30/20 as ALIPSR

  3. Here are 11 Fun Facts about Veterans Day:

    11. There are roughly 17.4 million veterans in the United States.
    10. Of those veterans, 15.78 million are male and 1.64 are female.
    9. It was originally called Armistice Day, commemorating the end of World War I.
    8. 3 million veterans have served in support of the War on Terrorism.
    7. 1.6 million Veterans are younger than 35.
    6. As of 2019, the top three states with the highest percentage of veterans were Virginia, Wyoming and Alaska.
    5. In 1968, the Uniform Holidays Bill was passed by Congress which moved the date of Veterans Day to the fourth Monday in October.
    4. It was changed back to November 11 in 1975 by President Ford.
    3. Approximately 35 percent of all living veterans served during the Vietnam War.
    2. As of 2019, there were 325,574 WWII veterans still living. (1941-1945)
    1. Veterans Day does not include an apostrophe but does include an “s” at the end of “veterans” because it is not a day that “belongs” to veterans, it is a day for honoring all veterans.

  4. Another abundant Jumble. There are many possible solutions, but none fit as well as IN MANY RESPECTS. The word SPIRAL has an alternative – APRILS. Our veterans have fought in many wars in April, and one such war ended in April – the Civil War. If one uses APRILS instead of SPIRAL, the best is IN MAPS, RECENTLY; for example, the maps that show the retreat of Germans in World War I and the war ending soon.

  5. Hi Everyone – Without making any progress at all on the answer, I put the puzzle down twice. On my third try I remembered that “Respect” or a similar word had been used in a previous puzzle on a holiday (Memorial Day?) honoring the military.
I also want to thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice.

  6. Good morning and Happy Veterans Days to all concerned. Thanks Mike for your enlightening info. I had no problem with the words but bailed out on the cartoon answer. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  7. Very appropriate puzzle for today. No problem with the anagrams. Did get out paper and pencil for the cartoon solution – once I saw “many” the rest fell into place easily. Another grateful citizen here for the service of our veterans. 🇺🇸

  8. Like Paul I couldn’t get to the answer and I also had trouble with SPIRAL. Appreciate Angela’s comments on veterans. One of my fraternity brothers at UCLA during the Vietnam war was drafted and died there. I once found his name on the Vietnam Memorial in Washington. Chilling…..
So salute the men and women who go loyally into war with many coming back broken or not coming back at all.

  9. Hi all – I saw all the words but couldn’t get the answer from the puzzle or letters so had to give up on it. Clever pun, though.

Good wishes to everyone today, especially our vets.

“He didn’t MINCE words with his decorator that the fancy SPIRAL decorations on his bed CANOPY were not his STYLE.”

  10. On October 8th, 1954, President Eisenhower, prominently seen here in our cartoon, signed the proclamation naming November 11th Veterans Day. If you scroll down in this article, https://tinyurl.com/y8zmlz97 you’ll find a photo that depicts the image shown in our cartoon today. The names of the men surrounding him are listed. It’s a very good article, and I think any History buff will enjoy it. Again…A special thank you to all our Veterans today…And may God always bless America…🇺🇸🙋🏻‍♀️
