Another abundant Jumble. There are many possible solutions, but none fit as well as IN MANY RESPECTS. The word SPIRAL has an alternative – APRILS. Our veterans have fought in many wars in April, and one such war ended in April – the Civil War. If one uses APRILS instead of SPIRAL, the best is IN MAPS, RECENTLY; for example, the maps that show the retreat of Germans in World War I and the war ending soon.
Hi Everyone – Without making any progress at all on the answer, I put the puzzle down twice. On my third try I remembered that “Respect” or a similar word had been used in a previous puzzle on a holiday (Memorial Day?) honoring the military.
I also want to thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice.

Very appropriate puzzle for today. No problem with the anagrams. Did get out paper and pencil for the cartoon solution – once I saw “many” the rest fell into place easily. Another grateful citizen here for the service of our veterans. 🇺🇸
Like Paul I couldn’t get to the answer and I also had trouble with SPIRAL. Appreciate Angela’s comments on veterans. One of my fraternity brothers at UCLA during the Vietnam war was drafted and died there. I once found his name on the Vietnam Memorial in Washington. Chilling…..
