  1. Good Morning, Everyone…. 🖥 IN THIS DAY AND…STAGE 🖥

🎶 IN THIS DAY AND AGE the walls are finally crumbling down…IN THIS DAY AND AGE..It’s the choice we make ,we are free to say what’s on our mind…We must do what is right…🎶 “In This Day and Age” – Crown of Thorns 2018 https://tinyurl.com/y2kva3ex

🖥 Life as we knew it disappeared, not easy to DIGEST,
Alternate means of getting by were all put to the test
To keep AFLOAT some normalcy we turned to different means,
And Zoom became an easy way to stay in touch it seems
So HUNGRY for some normalcy, we needed to UNLOAD,
We’d log on like our girl did here, enter others abodes
To be social is the DRIVER, we so need that contact,
That GERBIL feeling in a cage has taken on new tact…
We celebrate our Birthdays, we even share a meal
It’s definitely helped us out…let us share how we feel…
It can’t replace that human touch, but it’s become the rage…
And Zoom it is, to interact…now IN THIS DAY AND AGE…🖥

Just as yesterday, when art imitated life and let us share in John’s weight loss journey…today we follow suit with a young girl celebrating her 18th Birthday. But before we take a BITE out of that, let’s talk about our words. A bit of a challenge, huh? Yet while all of todays entries have been seen over the YEARS, the anagrams this time around are far from a GIFT..And David proves once again that no one can hold a CANDLE to him when it comes to word play. With only VIRRED having been used before, back in 2018, todays anagrams had the Early Birds going PIECE by PIECE to get them all done…And they agreed…It was no PIECE OF CAKE! The ones giving them the most trouble? Pretty much a tie between DRIVER and UNLOAD.

Ok…Now let’s CELEBRATE this great cartoon….Keeping it trendy, today we see a family of three making the best of it, while using the best of Social Media, ZOOM, https://tinyurl.com/y2vrowhb, to celebrate the daughters 18th Birthday. And as with yesterday’s John, it’s seems pretty obvious that the characters are not the usual Jumbleites we’ve seen over the YEARS. We see a woman, top left sitting just a little too close, the couple next to her at the wrong angle, and the couple at the bottom having gotten it just right. https://tinyurl.com/y6n2fbcb. Made me think of the Three Bears. You remember…Too hot, too cold and just right? Of course you do…Anyway, I’m figuring the third couple is our girls Grandparents, since we can hear the Mom praising “Mom and Dad” in that they “figured it out”. But the key is the all the Fathers dialogue, the sole woman saying such a MODERN celebration, and David uncharacteristically specifying today’s date…We got the DAY, we got an AGE…We got…IN THIS DAY AND AGE😉! And this is how we’re doing things nowaDAYS…this is how we’re celebrating…It’s the Zoom Boom…and as our girl’s saying…”Thanks for being here”. Yes, David…we agree!

Eye candy? It’s all worth celebrating today, but I think I’ll FOCUS my attention on that sole woman. She definitely put her best FACE forward…

So, There you have it Folks. Done. Hoping you all enjoy a good day…Be well, stay safe…And here’s to successful Zoom meetings…Or as I like to call them…the CO-VIDS…🎤🖥🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🙇🏻‍♂️ Tired of hearing the he wasn’t HUNGRY enough to keep his business AFLOAT IN THIS DAY AND AGE, he was determined to get into the DRIVERs seat and UNLOAD all his debt…it wasn’t an easy thought to DIGEST, but he’d had it with spinning his wheels like a GERBIL…🙇🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♀️ Like a GERBIL sometimes represents this rat race that we live,
It’s not easy to DIGEST what’s there to take and what to give…
We try to stay AFLOAT, although life really can get hard,
The DRIVER and the driven…and we play with both the cards…
We’re HUNGRY to succeed in life, to UNLOAD baggage grim,
The dog eat dog to compete takes a toll on her and him…
But we need all be careful in what ventures we engage,
Lest we sacrifice humanity…IN THIS DAY AND AGE…🤷🏻‍♀️

  3. Hi Everyone –
The answer took me a long time. I almost gave up, thinking of Paul’s recent comment about life being short. I got the phrase finally by writing down all possible words and playing around with those I thought might fit (day, age, the, and, in, so, as). Thanks for explaining the drawing, Angela, because I hadn’t realized those were the grandparents on the screen.

    • Good Afternoon, Caroline. You’re very welcome. And Kudos on the solve! And you’re right, there were a lot of combinations for three letter words with today’s letters. But all that dialogue set the stage…The mentioning of the DAY, (which is rarely done), and the girls AGE. I don’t know who wrote today’s dialogue, but it’s masterful, IMO. It was all there, but very cleverly disguised! As I said earlier, no PIECE OF CAKE…but the wit today is definitely my TASTE! 😉 Hope you’re enjoying the beautiful day, Caroline. Be well and stay safe out there…🎂🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. Gerbil gave me reason to pause, but having gotten it,I realized it had been a recent entry.Too many short 3 letter words, for me to zoom onto the cartoon solution,

    • Good Afternoon, Professor. Gerbil? Pretty recent, January 22nd. And as for the solve, your not “zoom”ing in 👏🏻 is understandable..it was definitely a bit of a challenge today. A solve for the AGEs! 😉 Enjoy your day, Prof. Be well and stay safe. 🎂🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Hi all – The last word would have taken longer without the UN trick showing UNLOAD. (Surprised to see how many votes that got. C’mon, people; I’m trying to help you here! 😂)
No idea about the answer; I first thought “IN TIME FOR HER DAY” from the word layout, but the letters weren’t right. Since I’d seen SIGHTED before DIGEST, I thought maybe “SITE” would be in the answer as a pun, but there were no quotation marks. Saw IN, AT, THE, AND and SING but couldn’t make sense of anything. I was *just* about to give up – literally, I had already typed “Let me go look” — when I spotted AGE and got it. Whew!

I was just reading comments from several teachers about how their students think anyone who was born before 2000 is now considered “old.” Now there’s a sobering thought!

    Good wishes to everyone.

I liked your “Goldilocks” take on the three Zoom sessions, Angela! If there had been one more guest, the mother would have shown even more FOUR-BEAR-ance.

Nice to see the “Love Letters in the Sand” come back for an encore near the end of summer; thanks Mike. No end of summer for us – at least a couple more days in the high 90’s. My nephew in Denver though is expecting highs of 98 today and tomorrow — and then a high of 37 with snow and slush on Tuesday! Even the weatherman in Minnesota was feeling sorry for them.

“The pet store owner was able to stay AFLOAT long enough to pay the supply truck DRIVER to UNLOAD the food shipment for his HUNGRY GERBIL to DIGEST.”

    • “FOUR-BEAR-ance”! 🤦🏻‍♀️LOL…Tks, Steve… Have a good one. Be well, be safe..stay cool…🎂🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. I got all of the words fairly quickly (had to use the UN rule as well) but the solution evaded me like a gerbil in a habitrail… I finally gave up and felt dissatisfied with the actual solution. I liked the cartoon and the concept but suspect a better Jumble solution could have been dreamed up.
I’ve had major wifi issues this weekend, it just seems to have come back up now. Now to see how the rest of the weekend fares…….
