  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…📙🙋🏻‍♀️

🎶 Ooh yeah, a-try to get yourself a bargain son……Don’t be sold on the very first one…A-pretty girls come a dime a dozen,…A-try to find one who’s gonna give you true lovin’… My Mama told me, “You better SHOP AROUND…(SHOP…SHOP)..🎶…”Shop Around” – Smokey Robinson & The Miracles 1960 https://tinyurl.com/k22jtpl

📙 He’s looking for some extra space for keeping all his stuff,
But his wife isn’t buying it…and he can’t call her bluff…
The Comic Books he wants to store and VIDEO tapes he’s kept,
He’s got quite the collection…and around the house they’ve crept…
But she likes decor LAVISH-like…the DUPLEX her domain,
She’s tired of his hoarding…and his way too old refrain…
The comics, tapes and other things don’t resonate with her,
There’s compasses and even rocks …(he once was a HIKER)…
The bottom line? This bookcase..No…it’s too open and clear
She’s not displaying all that junk…so she SHELVED THE IDEA! 📙

  2. 📼 Despite the lure of the LAVISH landscaping, showing a leisurely HIKER, the Real Estate Agency made the mistake of advertising on an outdated VIDEO tape…which turned the potential DUPLEX buyer off…and he SHELVED THE IDEA of moving in…📼

💃🏻 She led a LAVISH life style, a jet-setter was she,
    A Condo in St Thomas…and a DUPLEX in Capri…
So when she met the HIKER, a man without real roots,
She questioned herself carefully…could they be in cahoots?
He had some kind of money…something VIDEO-related,
Had worked out very well for him…and now he felt quite sated…
But she was way too shallow…love of money gave her fear
So dating him she wouldn’t do…and she SHELVED THE IDEA…💃🏻

    • 2 novel poems using today’s words. Bravo and hope your day is safe. It was pretty easy today – off to work.

      • Hi Jim. So good to hear from you. Off to work… I think of you every time I hear or read anything about the nations unemployment numbers…So sad and mind- boggling. And I can’t even imagine what a typical day must be like for you. Thanks for the Shout Out, and I likewise hope you and yours are keeping safe. Be well Jim, and I hope we’ll hear from you again soon. 🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. Agree on the anagrams being a snap, but my first thought on the cartoon answer was,”shelved the deal” rather than “shelved the idea”, but looking at the available letters after the first word, shelved, idea did pop into view.

    • Good Morning, Professor. Well done! Enjoy your day, and stay safe…📙🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. Good morning. Miracle of miracles, I had a senior moment on the easiest of words today but I persevered. For the life of me I couldn’t get Video so I went to the cartoon and after a couple of minutes I came up with the answer and knew I needed the VED to complete the journey why I had a mental block on such a simple word is beyond me. Anyway, it’s done and successfully I might add. Loved your song choice Angela as indicated above. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe. Oh played three games of bocce after 2. Had 14 people playing. Even got in playing knock rummy earlier with 3 others.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. Thank you. ‘Gotta love Smokey, right? And you’re out there playing in this heat? My cap’s off to you, Bud…You’re a braver man than I…(well, you know what I mean)..😉 Have a good one, Paul…Be well and stay safe…🏐🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Hi all – Saw everything quickly today, helped by the fact that I read a comic this morning called “The DUPLEX” which I don’t usually see.

30% off and she wants to shop around for a better deal? She must be connected to my wife’s family somehow.

I agree, nice poems Angela, and very nice to start the day off with some Smokey Robinson. You got me wondering though – can one person be in a cahoot?

    Good wishes to everyone.

“The HIKER SHELVED THE IDEA of a long healthful trek when he got a load of the LAVISH VIDEO setup in the DUPLEX he passed by and was invited inside.”

    • 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve never heard the word CAHOOT used in a single tense,
But then again, there’s many words to me that don’t make sense…
Can one person be in Cahoot? The question that you’ve posed?
I’ve never heard it said as such…but then again…who knows?
I looked it up, quite curiously…and definitely had a laugh…
      The word comes up a single…but there’s plurals…Webster’s gaffe?
I just know that the shallow girl (and no, she isn’t me)! 😉
Had trouble with the bank account of many a kind he…
So wondering if in “cahoots” she’d be with all these guys
Caused her a lot of pondering…a lot of ifs and whys! 🤷🏻‍♀️

LOL! Steve…You know me, my logophile’s loyalty lies with David, so I’ll swear by Merriam-Webster. https://tinyurl.com/y26dwtq4….And I did get a laugh…Two sentences as examples…but both in plural! What a hoot! No pun intended, of course! 😂 Thanks for the Shout Out, and I agree…it is always nice to start the day off with Smokey…Have a good one, Steve…Be well and stay safe out there….🙋🏻‍♀️

      • That *is*funny! “Usually used in plural” – like both of their examples, as you saw.😂

        • 😂 IKR? …Maybe they’re in cahoots with something we’ve never READ about! It’s a CASE for the Dictionaries…Definitely one for the BOOKS! 😂😂🤦🏻‍♀️
