OCR MW OK RE =
WRECKROOM

Good Morning, Everyone    🧹  JUNIOR HAD A WRECKIN’ BALL! 🧹

🎶 The PARTY’S OVER, it’s time to call it a day…They’ve burst your pretty balloon…And taken the moon away….🎶  “The Party’s Over” – Judy Garland & Mel Tormé  1963

🧹 The feathers on this couple…their son surely he did RUFFLE,
The room looks like a parrot and MACAW went through a scuffle…
And since it did OCCUR while it was Junior holding court,
He better hope things are intact… the things his parents bought
UNLOCK your cleaning powers, Son…get out that mop and broom…
And get to work restoring the Rec Room from the “WRECK” ROOM! 🧹

REC ROOMS....Do people still use that term? I don’t think I’ve heard it said in years, (except for Rec Room, part of the online universe…But that’s a whole other game of play)…Today we have Man Caves and She-Sheds…and playrooms…and well, just basements…We don’t say “Rec Room” per se…do we? But then again, who knows. Maybe I’m wrong…Maybe it’s a regional thing? A suburban thing? Let me know what you think, Folks. You know the drill…Comment below…

Ok, so…No new words, and CORUC was in play back in March of 2018. And while the Early Birds didn’t exactly fly through today’s words, I’d say they cleaned up pretty quickly…And also note, that back on November 29th, 2012, we had a puzzle whose question…”The children’s birthday party turned every section of the house into a”…was answered exactly as it is today…”WRECK” ROOM…

And now, the aftermath…Which is adding up to a real mess…Junior threw a party…and obviously caution to the wind at the same time. The ROOM looks WRECKed, and now there’s definitely enough of a disaster as Dad says to keep this kid busy for a while…He needs to clean up the “WRECK” ROOM…

As for Eye Candy, we got a mess of it this morning…Knotty-pine walls. Empty cups, cans and bottles strewn all over, opened and emptied snack bags, a smashed net on the ping-pong table, whose leg appears to be broken. And the remains of an overturned can be seen, spilling its contents on the tables surface. A broken paddle lies on the floor, and some broken balls are visible…An overturned chair, with a game controller lies by Junior, while another lies on the table facing the TV. And what I think to be an unraveled roll of paper towels lies draped over it’s screen…As I said…this kid’s definitely got his work cut out for him, I wreckin’…So, There you have it Folks..Done. Wishing you all a good day…Be well, and stay safe.🧹🙋🏻‍♀️

  1. 🦜As he watched his MACAW RUFFLE it’s feathers, he wondered why it had to OCCUR now, just as he was about to UNLOCK the doors to the REC ROOM….🦜

🦜 She loved the pretty MACAW, she’d been given as a gift,
His cage a RUFFLE-type curtain, when off to sleep he’d drift…
It never did OCCUR to her that he wasn’t content,
Until the day her errands called…and off to shop she went…
She got back home and as the door she started to UNLOCK
She noticed things all strewn about…on the floor was her clock
What happened in her absence? The place looked like gloom and doom…
And then she saw the Macaw…it was he caused the WRECK ROOM 🦜

  2. Hi Everyone –
I struggled a little over Unlock until I tried the un prefix. The guys keep the good ones coming.
Wonderful video, Angela. I didn’t know until reading some of the comments that Mel Torme had written a book about Judy Garland.
I’m not sure whether rec room is a term still used here.
We have a little snow on the ground thanks to the polar vortex/climate change. Not so good for any birds’ nests.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. Thank you, I liked the video too. I wasn’t sure if I was going to use it, it’s kind of a sad song, but it’s the first song I thought of, and I have the blues this morning anyway…so I just went with it. And I read the book years ago…Suffice to say he was no gentleman towards her. She always seemed like such a wounded soul to me. Such a great talent…The Rec Room? I’m pretty sure the last time I heard it was back in my childhood…And the weather? It’s freezing here! 🥶 No snow, but we had a hard rain all through last night…cold rain…and this morning the winds are unreal…The temp is in the low 30’s…but the wind chill is in the 20’s! Ah, Spring! Have a good day, Caroline…Stay safe. 🧹🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. Speaking of rec rooms,we never had one, while I was growing up,but my uncle had one w everything: a pool table ,a ping pong table, shuffle board, bowling alley w small half size pins, dart board, shuffle board ,and of course a bar.We were so jealous of him and his family.

    • ….And I can see why. I’d have been jealous too…in fact most people might be so today still! It’s funny…I think “rec room”and I picture knotty pine walls, shiny walls..I have no idea if saw one like that in my youth, but that’s what comes to mind…Have a good one, Prof. Stay safe. 🧹🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. Good morning. Thanks Angela for the video, enjoyable to watch. She really knew how to perform. My choice for hardest word is Unlock. I was stuck on it for the longest time and when I did finally get it I yelled out loud like there were family here with me. Couldn’t believe such a simple word eluded me that long. The cartoon answer came to me after I studied the letters for awhile. A clever finish I might add. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Hey Brooklyn, Good Morning. It’s the compound word syndrome…it’s easy to get burnt by it. That little UN is notorious for creating havoc! As Caroline said, most people don’t think of trying the prefix first…And you made me laugh with your reaction to finally getting it! 😂 Thanks for the Shout Out, I’m glad you enjoyed the clip…and yes, Ms Garland definitely knew how to put on a great performance….As for clever…I’m with you there too…that it surely is. Very witty finish! Be well, Paul…and stay safe. 🧹🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Hi all – The UN trick showed UNLOCK, and I saw FLURRY before RUFFLE. “Party Room” fit, but wasn’t a pun and PARTY had been used in the dialog, but having “room” gave WRECK quickly.

That doesn’t really look *all* that bad for a teenager’s party, and given how coherent he looks, it seems that at least the room was the only thing that got wrecked. I really like the classic knotty pine look of the walls that I only saw after going online.

Wonderful song Angela; I’ve always liked that one. It would be either that or Don Meredith singing Will Nelson, “Turn Out The Lights, The Party’s Over”.

    Good wishes to everyone.

“Didn’t it OCCUR to him that he would RUFFLE the feathers of his pet MACAW if he forgot to UNLOCK his cage at the usual time?”

🎵”LITTLE RICHARD sang it and Dick Clark brought it to life
Danny and the Juniors hit a groove stuck as sharp as a knife
Now, do you remember all the guys who gave us rock ‘n roll?”🎵
(Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys)

RIP to a *true* original – gone at age 87. 🎹
My word, what to choose? “Good Golly Miss Molly”, “Long Tall Sally”, “Rip It Up” “Tutti Frutti? Here’s “Lucille”:

    • PS – I’m not sure what you would have to do to break a pingpong ball like that! The most we ever abused them was setting them on fire, but definitely don’t try this at home – or at least not *in* your home!

    • Yea, Little Richard. The news of his passing came out way after I posted this morning. Lately it seems like that’s all we hear about…the number of lives lost. But at least he had a long one…Be well, Steve. Stay safe out there…🧹🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. I just found this which gave me a smile. From The Tonight Show of 5/7, James Taylor with his wife and son at home playing one of my all-time favorite songs of his, “You Can Close Your Eyes”….
🎵”It won’t be long before another day
We’re gonna have a good time
And no one’s gonna take that time away
You can stay as long as you like.”🎵

    • That was beautiful, Steve. Nice to see him with his family.
I was just reading a local columnist and he actually mentioned his friend’s “rec room” today! So I guess the term is used here.

      • It is beautiful, isn’t it?
‘Rec room’ indeed! Today must be a day for coincidences – There’s a U-Haul van blocking my driveway right now – not that I’m going anywhere – and you know how they have scenes from U. S. states painted on the sides? This one says “Rhode Island”, where I was born and raised. 😂
