So, it looks like reality has arrived in Jumble Land. Since the Jumble puzzles are submitted for publication between 5 and 6 weeks prior to them appearing in our papers, todays timeline seems about right. Most likely created around the second half of March, one can put today’s puzzle somewhere at the point where the panic-buying hoarding was already in force, but there were yet to be any rules governing staying at home, the 6-foot social distancing, and/or the mandatory wearing of masks. And back then we weren’t using COVID-19 as the going term, it was still called by it’s “full” name, The Corona Virus…. Seems like years ago, huh?
With the exception of OUTAGE, which we saw as recently as February 14th, and was also anagrammed as it is today on August 25th of 2019, one other double-duty repeat anagram, TRUPYI, from 09/10/17, is in play today…with the remainder of our words all having appeared in the latter part of 2019. And none of them were pressing enough to hold up production this morning…
Finding ourselves at what seems to be a canning plant, we see an employer arriving to hand out bonuses to her assembled employees. The dialogue of the female employee leads us to believe that her VISITing them there is a rare occurrence. But as we hear the employer saying, she’s aware of how hard they’ve been working and wanted to PAY them in person. Bottom line? She PAID THEM A VISIT...
At first glance, I thought we may have been at a paper producing facility, since the image at back on the far left gave the appearance of rolls of toilet tissue. But the boxes along the conveyer belt lend themselves more to the packaging of canned goods. Which I suppose would explain the hair netting the employees are wearing…the masks though? I’m not sure of. Are they always worn by these type of workers, or is this group of people one of the first to take heed of what soon enough would became the norm? A question for you to ponder…And what caught my eye this morning? At the bottom of the left sleeve of the employer, who’s decked out in a classic tailored pants suit, if you look real closely, you can see two tiny buttons...a nice touch, testament to Jeff’s being a stickler for detail…So, There you have it Folks, Done. Good morning. I didn’t think today’s words were easy. I struggled with most of them but had a devil 👿 of a time with Exodus. Therefore it’s my choice for hardest word. It took longer to get then the cartoon answer which by the way was worth a thumbs up. Until tomorrow stay well.

I drew a blank on the answer except I figured the first word would be a verb. Trying each letter I had for the beginning of the first word led me to paid and then rest.

Hi all – I saw the OUT in OUTAGE, so the only word that stumped me for awhile was ADMIRE. I tried variations ending in ED and ER before trying a vowel to begin the word and saw it. Got the answer from the cartoon since she was paying them.
Agreed, I don’t think I’ve ever thanked a grocery store employee for working, but I’ve done it a lot lately.

Me too, Steve. I’m always courteous to everyone working retail, but now? I’m doing all on-line shopping, but I’m getting groceries from these wonderful local places…and I’ve made giving them a call a priority. Just to thank them, and wish them well. Telling them to stay safe..and more than once, we’ve both cried…none of this is easy. And I’ve been getting so many deliveries, that I’m leaving envelopes with tips, taped to my side door where the deliveries are left, for each of the carriers, marked appropriately. These people are keeping us going…and we don’t even fully realize it…Anyway…I agree…PHEW! Is right! These were definitely not easy breezy…as far as sentence structure goes. Our local store manager,has allowed me to email her our shopping list,she then has an asst fill it,call us for pickup.
That’s what we do here too, Professor, email our lists. But then when one of them calls with the final total, I’m wishing them to be well and safe besides just thanking them for the service. I’d hate for any of them to feel that they’re just part of the machinery for us. And I’m just thinking that tomorrow I’m going to send some pizzas over for them. We’ve done so for the hospital workers…But I never thought of doing it for these people too…They’ve been putting in terribly long days, and while the delivery staff is getting tipped, these in-store workers aren’t. Hopefully, it’ll be a welcome respite! We could all use a little extra kindness these days…Stay safe, Prof. 🙋🏻♀️

Paused at admire but otherwise figured out the other anagrams and cartoon answer without difficulty. We have a wonderful little neighborhood market that has about 5 employees who have been working non stop since this coronavirus business began. One of the local residents started a GoFundMe page which raised $5,000.00 in about three days making for a well deserved bonus for these wonderful workers. Wishing all of you a good day.

I had my usual Sun problem w the anagrams and cartoon solution.Exodus got me again,as did admire,that looked like a misspelled married .Then apart from the 4 letter word,them, and the letter A,the overall paid them a visit got me as well.You can’t win them all.
