Ah, the BROOKLYN BRIDGE! I can’t get over it! So near and dear to my heart…And as beautiful as it is old.. The history behind it is so interesting, and it’s an amazing piece of engineering, especially considering the fact that it was built entirely during the horse and buggy days..And you can read all about it here….
N N N…And…look what I found…A new kid on the block! NANNY…Who would have guessed? But as surprising as it may seem, today marks its debut….Our other words…old favorites, having been seen here and there over the span of the last few years, but all three last appearing in 2018. And we’ve one repeat anagram, with GOYFG being in play just as is, back on 01/15/18…A stumper? Nothing that drove them crazy, but PETITE stood up as Tiptoe to a few of the Early Birds…So, since there’s not much more ground to cover here, let’s cross that bridge over to our cartoon…
I couldn’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve crossed the Brooklyn Bridge…So finding ourselves here today, atop the Bridge, drives home a lot of memories…We meet four Jumble characters…Two men, a woman, and what appears to a teenaged boy…perhaps three generations of a family, out together, bridging the generation gap. The older gentleman at left, is telling the younger one how LONG the Bridge took to be built, while the mention of “old” twice, once in the dialogue and again in our question, brings the reference of LIFE to the “old girl”. And our female character, capturing the SPAN of the bridge as a keepsake…well is there any SUSPENSION killin’ you with our solve today? I think not…The Brooklyn Bridge is one of a kind thanks to its LONG LIFE SPAN. And that’s the long and short of it!
Eye candy? Walking across the Bridge is eye candy alone. The views are breathtaking…But if you look real closely, you can see the image of the bridge fully captured across the lens of the phones’ screen…Perfect! So, There you have it Folks, Done! Good morning. I had the words right but spelled Petite wrong. Think I’d have trouble beating a 5th grader in a spelling contest. Whenever I did my reports for college there always was a Dictionary right next to me. Today again I had the cartoon answer right away because I saw Span and Long. That left me with Life and I’m doubting my answer. Until tomorrow stay well.

The words were simple, the solve took a little longer. Played with fine, span, and goll. Saw long span and life dropped in. Unlike another post, PETITE was not my problem, four four letter words were. Single syllables with no “beat” .
The NANNY goat, with her PETITE kid, had to stroll very SLOWLY through the FOGGY night to navigate safely back to their barn.

Another day of four double letter words. I think it makes for easier solving, which I’m not so sure is good.

Isn’t it funny that we were talking about the TV Program “Brooklyn Bridge” yesterday and today we have a puzzle with the actual Brooklyn Bridge in it. No problem with the words and cartoon solution. Never have trouble with the word foggy, Steve. We know the word up close and personal don’t we? However, at the moment, it’s bright and sunny in my neighborhood. Are you going to watch the Niners this afternoon or are you strictly a Raiders fan? I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they win and that it isn’t a heart stopper like the last game with Seattle. We’ll see!
Raiders who? You mean those Vegas guys? 😂 No, I’ve been watching the Niners since the days of John Brodie in the 70’s and saw all of the amazing run in the 80’s. In the days of local TV blackouts, I actually went to Fresno to watch a game on TV; possibly a Monday Night game. Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat 1987 for the Vikes! I am planning to watch this afternoon.
Hi all – PETITE was the only word I paused at. Didn’t know the answer, but as soon as I wrote the letters I saw SPAN and got it.
I wondered whether the older guy was some kind of guide like a Park Ranger and if the area around the bridge is any kind of park with people like that — or are there just old guys walking around trying to sell it to you? 😂
Like Betty and Angela, I also saw Ken Burns first documentary when it aired on public TV, and everything about it completely blew my mind – the story of the struggles building it, the history leading to it, and the way the documentary itself was constructed. I taped it right away, and figured that there would have to be more from someone this talented, and I wasn’t disappointed.
