Happy Tuesday, Jumble players. Aww, tis the sea-son for love! Big Red may have thought he was being shellfish by asking to hold her claw, but the truth is that he had her at shell-o. I guess what it all boils down to is that love truly is the universal language and it probably won’t be long before we see this couple tide the knot!

All of our clue words may have been old friends, but three of the four anagrams were new. The only one that we’ve definitely seen (many) times before was PHEDT. They all solved rather easily so I’ll abstain from voting for the hardest one. FAITH was last used on 2/7/19 making it the freshest while EXCUSE was played on 6/18/17 and clocks in as the oldest. I may be getting ahead of myself here, but our final solve was also a repeat. The date was Valentine’s Day 2015 and it featured David and Claire scuba diving in the ocean.

The emphasis of today’s panel may have focused on the relationship between the two lobsters, but it was all of the extra details that really stole my heart. My favorite, of course, had to be the sunken sailboat. The sail looks frayed on the bottom edge which means that the wreckage has been submerged for quite some time. The other boat on the surface seems to be doing a bit of fishing, and it was interesting to see that it appears to be using a dragnet instead of fishing lines. The 5 fish swimming appear to be safe for now, but I wouldn’t recommend that they get any closer or they’ll be in for a boatload of trouble!

The final solve was an anagram consisting of 13-letters that were layed out in a remarkably cryptic fashion. The last four letters spelled out FOND which was most likely done on porpoise to throw our brains off track. I didn’t take the bait and instead focused on the P and over-abundance of E’s. DEEP came to mind and I was able to suss out AFFECTION, after a bit of trial and error, from the remaining letters.

I’d like to take a moment to pre-apologize for the brevity of my posts over the next couple of days. Thanksgiving is upon us and there’s a ton of work I have to do! All will return back to normal after the holiday, so until then, all of my best for a Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Good Morning, Mike and Everyone! Another easy one to SINK our teeth into! Wishing Everyone a great day! 🙋🏻‍♀️

🎶 How much do I love you? I’ll tell you no lie…How DEEP IS THE OCEAN…How high is the sky?…How many times a day do I think of you?…How many roses are sprinkled with dew?..And if I ever lost you, how much would I cry?…How DEEP IS THE OCEAN? 🦞 For everyone a fan of “Friends”, you may FONDLY remember,
How Ross truly loved Rachel…and he’d always be her lobster…
The DEPTH of love no limit, no EXCUSE need be made,
And FAITH kept them together, despite times when there was shade…
So just like these crustaceans, whose love is ever deep,
All buttering aside, they know that it’s a love to keep…
And if you have the luck in life to make such a connection?
Come sink or swim…always cherish that special DEEP AFFECTION 🦞

  2. 💘 They looked back FONDLY, remembering how their FAITH in knowing that the DEPTH of their love would always sustain them; and never made any EXCUSE for the DEEP AFFECTION they still held for one another…💘

🐋 Could ever he EXCUSE himself…for going to such DEPTH,
And not getting the photos…he’s now feeling so bereft…
Papers looked upon him FONDLY, had FAITH that he would do,
What he had promised to them…and they paid for the pursue…
But he re-surfaced a failure…No pics of the whale collection…
And they asked for reimbursement as they lost their DEEP AFFECTION 🐋 🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. Good morning. No problem with the words again. I was able to solve them all at first glance. The cartoon answer took about five minutes to solve. I kept staring at the letters and finally saw Deep for the first word which Affection followed once I put ion as the last three letters. Loved the extra video on Friends Angela nice use of the words as well. Until tomorrow stay well.

  4. Since he used such a lousy EXCUSE for breaking up with her, the DEPTH of her FAITH will be tested, but not necessarily in a FONDLY manner.

    • Isn’t it funny how all of the words (well maybe not EXCUSE) worked so nicely with the cartoon? David really did a fantastic job this morning, and so did you with your sentence. Great job as always, Chuck!

  5. Deep affection got me this morning but the anagrams were a snap.I was looking for ‘claw ‘ in the puzzle solution, but couldn’t get that out of my head.

  6. Another good one this morning. I figured the last word ended in tion so got affection and then deep just fell into place. Happy Tuesday to all.

  7. Good Morning Again, Mike and Everyone…The 02/14/15 cartoon, Deep Affection, held another little gem.. .Underwater, along with the Valentine’s Day Lovebirds, Claire and David, the sunken sailboat can also be seen off in the background…Makes today a double Sweet Repeat! 🦞🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Hi all – The words were easy and again, a couple pertained to the cartoon; DEPTH and FONDLY. My not-so-romantic first thought for the answer was “Prenuptial Claws”. I had to stare at the letters for awhile before seeing DEEP, and that showed the rest.

Have a great day, everyone! If you’ll EXCUSE my EXCUSE, I’m off to do errands before an expected rainstorm late this afternoon.

    • Steve…if you take note, it’s been going on for weeks now. Not to such an extent tho. Almost every day there’s been a word that relates to the puzzles’ theme. I thought I wrote about it in one of my posts, but I did a real quick look thru them for the last months and except for Saturday, when it was blatant with the music, I can’t find anywhere where I’ve mentioned it. It probably was just part of the conversations that go on in the mornings with the Early Birds. But now that it’s come to the surface…no pun intended! 😉…it’ll be something to look forward to catching. Again, NPI! …Nice with the prenuptial clause👏🏻👏🏻! Good vibes for later…🦞🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Thanks, all is routine except for the rainstorm which I hope we’ll miss.
I hadn’t noticed the words referencing the puzzle until the other day.
I hope they use “Rock Lobster” sometime but I guess you might have to “B-52” or older to appreciate it, 🙋🏻‍♂️

        • LOL…Rock Lobster. I could never SINK my teeth into that song..maybe beCLAWS I never had a TASTE for the ’52’s…But what a great story arc that could be…Day 1-The proposal with the ROCK…and Day 2-The prenuptial CLAWS…Maybe later on, after a TIDE, they can then also do a follow up…you know after the wedding. I think it would go swimmingly…might be a BERRY good idea…(look it up)! 😉 But do it on an empty stomach…it’s kind of SHELL😉 shocking!…And yes, you mentioned routine this morning…But I’m glad you’re getting some rain…🦞🙋🏻‍♀️
