Good Morning, Everyone!🏌🏻‍♀️THE PITTER PUTTER OF NO DEFEAT?🏌🏻‍♂️

🎶Keep your head down and don’t get confused …Which way the wind blows, which club to use…Your concentration slips away, you’re not any good but that’s okay…After you swing, still on that tee, it sure is better than hitting three…And as you stand there, feeling like a stiff ..You better love the one you WHIFF…love the one you WHIFF, love the one you WHIFF, love the one you WHIFF…GOLF is silly, but it’s sad…if you ever make contact, you should be glad …Cause there it sits, looking back at you..take another cut, cause you’re hittin’ two…I know your heart aches, too much to bear… it’s the agony that we all share…so get it together right away, cause if you can’t, we’ll be here all day…After you swing, still on that tee, it sure is better than hitting three…And as you stand there, feeling like a stiff, love the one you WHIFF, love the one you WHIFF..love the one you WHIFF…🎶 “Love the One You Whiff” – Jake Trout & The Flounders 1998

🏌🏻‍♂️I know so many Golfers, some golfing every day,
My friend, a priest, the CLERGY man is also one who plays.
He played once with the BISHOP, I think he let him win…
I asked him was that cheating…and did he commit a sin?
Sometimes language gets SPICY when things don’t go just right,
My friend, the priest said often times he’s forced his tongue to bite…
He gets WOUND up, his nerves get tight, he says a silent prayer,
The others that he plays with tell him that that isn’t fair…
A priest, a prayer…what are the odds they’ll not be facing loss?
Most of the time they don’t trust him when they SWING BY THE COURSE!🏌🏻‍♂️

While three of our words today are old favorites, I was surprised to not find SPICY listed in the Jumble Data Base. So I’m calling it a newbie, but I have my RESERVATIONS Our other words have been seen a few times before. WOUND has appeared at least 10 times, and twice previously it’s been anagrammed exactly as today, (04/12/16, and 11/03/17). And with it last being PLAYED on 12/14/18, it comes in as our most recent entry. We’ve seen BISHOP IN 2012, 2015 and 2017, and CLERGY is appearing anagrammed exactly as it has been its last two times out, 08/28 and 10/28/18. What’re the odds? Talk about sweet repeats…It looks like someone obviously likes these arrangement of letters! Do we have a day of “more than once“…just like the theme of today’s puzzle? Yes, I believe we do…And with that being said, let’s PUTT our words to bed…and get on to our cartoon…

Today brings us out to a Golf course once again. Dedicated Jumble players will find it a very familiar theme, since we’ve been here many, many times over the past few years, and last visited as recently as May 24th. IRONically that day I was quoted as saying…. “If you rememberthe last time we ‘SWUNG by a course‘, March 16th, we had a blast”. What’re the odds? As I said in the OPENing, Folks…it’s definitely a day of “more than once“! We see a couple, DRIVING up to the Driving Range, the man talking about how he needs to get some practice in, the woman reminding him that they’ll be returning the next day for a game. (They’ll be going “more than once)! I guess they live close by, and that’s why they could just…SWING BY (The) COURSE! Good one, David…I PARticularly like this one today!

Ok, eye candy. The entire background of the panel is shaded in GREEN, under a FADEd cloudy sky. Way back TO THE LEFT is a golf cart, with someone in the DRIVERS seat. The EXPANSE OF GREEN makes it difficult to SPOT the two players practicing their SWINGS, and it BLOCKS the lines of motion that Jeff’s DRAWn. I think whoever colored the panel was a little SHORT SIDED. The man at left has a look of surprise on his face, his mouth formed into the shape of a FRIED EGG, and if we FOLLOW THROUGH to the woman next to him, we see her with a STANCE and SWING reminiscent of a Baseball player…I’d go into it DEEPer, but I don’t want to be guilty of mixed metaSPORTS. A bucket of balls is seen on the ground besides them both. Nice detail, Jeff. Our main characters, (did I mention their names are PEBBLE and BROOKs)? are PULLING UP in a black convertible with red detailing…a very CLASSy looking car. PUTT there’s nothing about them that FLAGs out. So I think my EAGLE eye will just go with the look of PUTTER frustration on the woman players face. Poor girl…she looks like she’s having a STROKE

So, There you have it, Folks…Done! Since I’m throwing a dinner PARty tonight, I should stop PUTTERing aROUND, and get STARTed with my day. Hopefully my PARTNER will PITCH in and give me a HAND, I mean that would be the FAIRWAY to do this…although sometimes he can be more of an ALBATROSS aROUND my neck. I guess it’s not really his FAULT, he’s big, and just a little too ROUGH with things. And since I plan on using my WEDGE WOOD China, it’s probably for the best. The set’s in perfect condition, not a single CHIP, and he might just end up BREAKing something, which is usually PAR FOR THE COURSE. So, I guess I’ll get going beFORE half the morning gets AWAY from me…Have a great day, Everyone…And to all the Golfers out there, let’s hope it stays in the low 80‘s today…if it gets any hotter…don’t play!🏌🏻‍♀️🙋🏻

  1. Can we PLEEEASE go back to the old way of giving the information? It was much nicer just to open the page and have everything right there. We don’t need to read an entire, rambling, bunch of nonsense, just give us the answers!

    • Krystal..The email format was changed, but the puzzle information is still right there at the top as you open the blog page. There’s no need to read any further should you choose not to. 🙋🏻

  2. Good morning. No problem with the words but the cartoon answer took me over a half hour to finally sink in. Could it be because I’m not a fan of the sport. At least I stuck it out until I finally solved it. Angela, loved your rambling and bunch of nonsense. The song choice was right on even though I only gave it a fifteen second play. Loved your use of the words. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. I almost missed this…Sorry! And I think you’re right about the solve…golf terms just don’t register easily with you..😉 Maybe David will give us a Bocce puzzle some time soon…But then you better score, or your street cred will be mud! 😂 Glad you hung on till the end…you done good! Thanks for the Shout Out..😘 .and the laugh. Brooklyn is as Brooklyn does…Have a great day, Bud…knock ’em dead! 🏌🙋🏻

  3. I originally thought drive by ,but without a v, swing by came readily to mind for this old golfer.
We’re back on the road in twin watch, after a week’s hiatus after our Eastern NY swing.

    • Hey Professor…I had DRIVE in my head too, as soon as I looked at the picture and saw the 5 first boxes…(I do the cartoon first)…but then I read the question…David doesn’t repeat, and the word DRIVING was there, so that was that! 😉 Enjoy the kids, take care! 🏌🙋🏻

  4. As punishment for having viewed a SPICY movie, the CLERGY WOUND up giving the BISHOP a month off without any type of compensation.

    • 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Way to go, Chuck! My friend the priest would approve! A STROKE of genius! I haven’t had a chance to PLAY aROUND with the words yet, but I’ll do one for you as soon as I catch a second wind…🏌🙋🏻

    • Here you go, Chuck.., I’m juggling…but since for me that’s PAR FOR THE COURSE, I still intend to pen you a rhyme…just GIMME a minute….😉🙋🏻

° After the elaborate CLERGY dinner was a bust, it was decided that since the BISHOP usually WOUND up eating just the SPICY junk foods anyway, next time they’d just SWING BY THE COURSE and feast on the dirty water dogs from the cart outside…

    • Chuck…I might not have ACED it, but I gave it a SHOT…😉🙋🏻

Bob thought to join the CLERGY, but the BISHOP called his bluff,
He chastised him for thinking it, religious life was tough…
He’d seen him around women, and Bob had SPICY tastes,
He would WOUND up so miserable, that it would be a waste…
The best thing Bob could hope for that would save them all remorse?
Volunteer to teach religion, he could just SWING BY THE COURSE…

  5. Maybe a new poll entry should be “All of the above.” I must have gotten bad sleep last night!

    • …And I take it all three of the above are you? ROTFL!!! How you doin’, Clay? Bad night? ..(or good night)?💃🏻😉 Either way…you know it gets like that sometimes. So today the bear ate you…tomorrow you’ll have him for dinner…Don’t sweat it. You don’t want to get like Jamu…this keeps up we’ll all end up with hives! 😂😂 Hang in there, Big Guy…there’s always another day! 🏌🙋🏻 And PS…Jamu? You know I’m just breaking your shoes! 😉🙋🏻

  6. Hi all – I’ve been away because my wife has been sick. She’s better now so I’m here, although my schedule may be a bit erratic for awhile. I’ve missed talking with you.

So anyway – No problem with the words today, and I saw SWING and the answer as soon as I wrote down the letters. On the way to the range, did the car go “Putt-putt”? (Or “Beep Beep”? And was it a little Nash Rambler? I swear I wrote this comment before I read the one from Anonymous! 😂)

Great song that I’d never heard, Angela! I’m going to have to swing by Steven’s stills for something to recover from that one! And continue to 🎵”Ramble on”🎵proudly!

    Have a great day, everyone!

“The only member of the CLERGY on the chessboard, the BISHOP, bore a stigmata WOUND caused by a SPICY ghost-pepper taco”.
And by the way yesterday, “The words SPOKEN by the EAGLE in the subtitled animated MOVIE were printed in ITALIC”.

“Song from the Ceiling” at Safeway this morning – Shania Twain’s “Forever and for Always” seemed a bit more meaningful today.

    • Stigmata? Excuse me! Good one, G. 👏🏻👏🏻 And I’ll check the rule book to see if we’re accepting entries for previous puzzles! 😂 My song? G.. I’ve used it before…I think I’ve counted at least 20 some odd golf puzzles in the last few years, so it only stands to reason that I’m going to have to do a re-play. But yes, I’m sure Stephen is proud of me! 😂 (And don’t make waves…you know how BEEPING upset I can get) 😂😂😂 Happy to hear Shania gave you a lift. 😘 Have a good one, Bud…🏌🙋🏻

    • Professor…you earned the Math degree…we can’t expect you to cover all the bases! 😉🙋🏻
