CARTOON ANSWER:

DRACULA’S WIFE CAUGHT HIM CHEATING ON HER, AND NOW SHE WAS GOING TO – – –

HED  DIL  EY  MBR  =  BLEED HIM DRY

Good Morning, Everyone!            🧛🏻‍♂️ Love at First Bite? 🧛🏻‍♂️

🎶 I thought I knew him well, I really couldn’t tell that he had ANOTHER LOVER on his mind…You see, it felt so right when he held me tight…How could I be so blind? But still you wonder, who’s CHEATIN‘ who, and who’s bein’ true? Who don’t even care anymore? It makes you wonder who’s doin’ right by someone tonight…And whose car is parked next door?…”Who’s Cheatin’ Who”  –  Charly McClain  1980

🧛🏻‍♂️ A spouse that gets caught cheating usually tries to hem and HEDGE,
‘Cause most times he is well aware that he’ll be on the ledge.
He might get coy and QUEASY, and try to plead his case,
But more times than not it won’t work…the guilt is on his face.
The DAILY course of married life does sometimes cause a fray,
But life is not all roses…doesn’t mean that one should stray…
He took a vow and there’s the part of “no man put asunder”,
He broke the vow and now he’s screwed ’cause she is gonna plunder.
And who can blame the one who’s wronged…who feels that she deserves,
The castles, cars and caskets…it was he who threw the curve.
So now lawyers will get richer as his new life he’ll EMBARK,
His fun is now all over, she’s no longer in the dark.
And he should save the trouble, it’s too late to beg and cry…
He opted for that nibble? Well now she will BLEED HIM DRY! 🧛🏻‍♂️

Starting our weekend off with pretty easy words for a Saturday, we once again seem to have a SPLIT decision…I was able to track down HEDGE, an entry from 02/03/15, and EMBARK from 09/23/18, but I’m having no luck finding our other two words. And while I’m not too surprised to be unable to find QUEASY, DAILY seems not only familiar, but being such a common word, one I thought for sure would be in the Archives. But I came up EMPTY with both. And it was QUEASY that made it a little UNEASY for one of the Early Birds. Ok, on our cartoon…

Sitting in an attorney’s office, today we find four unusual characters. DRACULA, his WIFE, BLOODY MARY and their respective lawyers, FRANK ENSTEINS-MONSTER, and someone I’m a little unsure of. Is it WOLFMAN with an exaggerated over-BITE, (CAT’S what I’m wondering) or MAGILLAH WEKILLYA? Or is it a WEREWOLF?  It really seems like such a case of MIXED METAGORES...Anyway, perhaps one of you out there can do a better job of identification…If so, BITE me a line. The conversation today centers around Dracula’s infidelity, and how it’s now COUNT DOWN towards the finish line…His wife’s intention is to make him pay for the affair he had with the GHOUL NECKS DOOR. Let’s face it Folks, Mary felt the marriage was etched in stone, you know, she had a STAKE in this relationship, and just because Dracula couldn’t stick to the CRYPT, doesn’t mean she should stick her NECK out for him any longer…Uh uh…this time he BIT off a little more than he can chew…and for what? A nibble? Sure, that’s what he says now…But we all know he’s been ROMANIAn around for some time now…And it seems like it was all in VEIN…Anyway, Mary’s lawyer’s out for BLOOD. The Real Estate, the cars…(especially the IMPALER), and even the Caskets. (The man’s gonna end up de-COFFIN-ated)! So, in answer to our question? She’s going to…BLEED HIM DRY! HA! FANGS for another good one, David!

Ok, eye candy. As I mentioned earlier, I seem to have my wires CROSSed with all this.  Let’s be FRANK…I know we’ve seen Mr. ENSTEINS-MONSTER’s face before. (Sans the square head), yet I can’t BOLT it down. But it’s definitely ZOMBODIE Jeff knows. And the brain insertion scar is a keeper. Mary’s hairdo is the iconic conical one worn by Elsa Lancaster when she played the Bride of Frankenstein. I mean…Who’s BOOing who here? But her two fangs are cute. And the hair showing from under her lawyers’ cuffs is another nice touch. But it’s hard to keep COUNT of these seemingly CROSS-over characters…So I think I’ll just go with the BLOOD Red Scarf wound around Mary’s NECKCOVENing up evidence of a love perhaps forBITTEN from the very start? Who knows?…The SHADOW KNOWS…Oh, wait…Wrong CRYPT...I mean script! So, There you have it Folks, Done. Have a great day, Everyone…And think twice before persuing those NIBBLES and BITS…On REFLECTION?…If could all just really SUCK…🧛🏻‍♂️🙋🏻

  1. Good morning. I decided to skip my DAILY routine and EMBARK on trimming my large HEDGE which caused me to become QUEASY in all this heat. No it didn’t really happen. I’ll be back,as I see Angela posted and I was to enjoy before entering my remark.

    • 👏🏻👏🏻 Kudos, Brooklyn! Clever, timely, and cute! I do so enjoy reading your stuff…You done good! 🧛🏻‍♂️🙋🏻

  2. Good morning again. My choice for hardest word was EMBARK. For some unknown reason it took me a good ten minutes to get. I kept thinking it should be an I. Chalk it up to fatigue, yea that’s it fatigue. The cartoon answer was very cleaver. My first thought was Bled but, was one letter short. Crossing out the letters left my correct answer. Why is it that in a lot of divorces the woman goes for the jugular vein not being happy enough that the guy is penny less besides. I’ve had two nephews that were married 15 and 20 years thinking there was nothing wrong when their spouses walked out on them leaving the children behind. Angela, loved your use of the words and the puns. You did your job well.! You had me shaking my head. As to the song choice. I wonder how it would have sounded if a male sung the song like say Charlie Pride. Never heard it before. Would have liked the music to be down a bit so we could hear her better. Still think a male voice would comes across better. Food for thought. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn…Ok, so here’s the deal, Sugar-Heel…The song choice. Paul, I hate to say…”Just like a man”…but…well, JUST LIKE A MAN. Is there a male rendition of this song? Yes, there surely is. Alan Jackson. Great rendition…In fact I have it in my collection of Country Music. BUT..Who’s the Cheater in our scenario here today? A man, right? So it stands to reason that a woman would be singing about being “done wrong” as they say. Could I have had Alan singing about it? Ah. No…So, the food for thought? I’m making sausage and peppers as we speak…If I were closer I’d give you some food for thought… Now then…Why do women go for the jugular? I can’t speak from experience, but statistically speaking…the odds usually favor the men. Your nephews? Sadly, exceptions. And I hate seeing anybody wronged…but I will say this. I could see leaving a man…but a woman leaving her children? Good riddance, Paul, ‘cause that ain’t no woman. That’s just sooo wrong. And now with all the important stuff out of the way…the puzzle…😂 EMBARK is gaining…There’s an outside chance you may finish in the money…And lastly, as always..I thank you for the Shout Out…You know how much I enjoy everything you say…well..maybe not EVERYthing!!! 😂😂 But don’t worry, I still love you, Brooklyn…it’s just too bad you’re…JUST LIKE A MAN!!! ❤️🙋🏻

      • Ah Angela, you know the way to a mans heart. I could definitely go for Italian sausage with peppers but only with a couple of ice cold German beers. Thank you very much for the info on the male version of that song. I really really liked his better. And no,it wasn’t because of the girls in it. Although that didn’t hurt.! You could hear him very clearly.

        • LOL…Well Brooklyn…I’d be worried if you didn’t enjoy the girls! I guess you watched the NASCAR version? And yes, he does a much better job with it, and I too like his version much better, but as I said, it just didn’t fit. As for the beer? TBT, there’s a slew of beer in both fridges here, but I don’t really do beer, so I couldn’t tell you if it’s German or not. I think it might be a Italian beer…😂😂😂 And as I said, I’d be happy to feed you any time…Stay out of the heat, Brooklyn..it’s brutal out there…🔥🔥🔥🙋🏻

  3. If you chose to rise early today to embark on a list of daily chores, don’t have breakfast. Otherwise after watering the lawn, trimming the hedge, etc. you might suffer a queasy stomach till late this afternoon. Just don’t embark, that’s the toughest.

    • Good Morning, Jamu. Looks like we’re all getting QUEASY from the heat today! Nice scenario, Jamu! 👏🏻👏🏻 And I’m with you…Get the outside chores done really early…because Mother Nature’s not playing today! Stay cool…🧛🏻‍♂️🙋🏻

  4. As he was about to EMBARK on his DAILY run, the jogger felt a bit QUEASY about the strange dog which he had encountered the previous day growling at him from behind a HEDGE.

    • Hi Chuck…I’ve missed your contributions! Good to have you whipping up a sentence..and doing it so well to boot. And you’ve cleverly managed to keep your QUEASY canine related instead of heat! 😉 Great job, 👏🏻👏🏻 I’ve been wanting to do one all morning, but as usual I’ve got too many balls in the air…Stay cool…and have a great day! 🧛🏻‍♂️🙋🏻

    • I think I saw that guy wiz right by me. All it was behind the hedge was a Little Chihuahua. But he did have a mean bark. Good one.

  5. Fun cartoon this morning. Never thought about Dracula getting a divorce. I didn’t even know he was married – and to Blood Mary, priceless. Liked the song choice today, Angela. I’ve just finished watching a great PBS series called “Chasing the Moon” – really captured the history, drama and excitement of the astronaut program culminating with the moon walk. It was probably the best event that happened in 1968 – 1969. Happy Saturday to all.

    • Hi Betty. Good Morning..LOL! I didn’t know he was married either! And CRYPTing around Mary’s back to boot! Who knows, maybe she just wasn’t his TYPE after all…😂 Or maybe he’s just one of those guys that are always in the lookout for new BLOOD! IMO? I’m all for letting the ladies know..”B-POSITIVE…you’re better off without him”! 😂 Anyway…The Moon Landing. I’m with you…I’ve been psyched all week. There’s been so much great footage on the news programs, and tonight my ABC affiliate station is having a special. I’m going to look into your program too..I’m sure I can either see it as a repeat, or catch it On Demand. It all fascinates me. TBT? I was hoping for a related puzzle this morning, and I was disappointed to find a cheating man instead! 😉 Maybe because we’ve had 2 Moon Landing puzzles pretty recently..The one on 06/09, with President Kennedy “promising us the Moon” (well, at least the man kept his word on that)! 😂! …and the one last September, on the 7th, where Jeff featured his family watching the Landing itself. Still, it would have been nice. Anyway….Thanks for the Shout Out, and I’m glad you enjoyed the music. I had Sinatra singing the song on my iPad all morning…Ironic, huh? Now there was a cheating man….but it wasn’t on me…so I just kept right on loving him!!! 😂😂 Have a great Saturday, Betty! Enjoy! 🧛🏻‍♂️🚀🙋🏻

  6. Chuck…For you. I figured what the heck, I may as well just stick with today’s theme…🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

° Getting that QUEASY feeling every time he thought that he would have to EMBARK on the road to matrimony, he found himself trying to HEDGE around it on a DAILY basis…until his fiancé told him that he either “put a ring on it”…or she’d BLEED HIM DRY…(With a special nod to Beyoncé) 💃🏻

      • Tks Chuck..Comes from years of dealing with HEDGERS…and I’m not talking landscapers either! LOL…🙄🙋🏻

    • Now there’s the girl I know. Lol. Why can’t we just all get along. Why should few years of being engaged have to be ruined. Wasn’t it the wise man or woman that said something about giving away the milk for free and yada yada yada. Or as Elaine would say,is he sponge worthy?

      • Brooklyn! You’re out of control today! 😂😂 Cabin fever? You’re giving me Farm animals? And Sponges? Where are we going with all this? It must be the heat…And I was always in favor of engagements…I did it 6 times! 🔥🙋🏻

  7. I might as well make it a Hat Trick…but I’m going to be fair…and give this one to the guys…🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

🏃🏻‍♀️Her DAILY constitution didn’t sit so well with him,
He felt she was too vain, and that his future might be grim…
Her manner made him QUEASY, since he was more reserved,
And she’d EMBARK on different things with all attention served…
Until the day he followed her when she went on her run…
And there behind the Holly HEDGE he saw what made it fun..
Locked in embrace her Trainer stood…he just let out a sigh…
But better he knows now before she tried to BLEED HIM DRY! 🏃🏻‍♀️

  8. Hi all – Easy words and answer today. KAMBER looked like a word but I know it’s CAMBER, and I’ve seen EMBARK in a puzzle recently, so recognized it.

I think that has to be Wolfman since they’re all part of the Universal classic monster group, but that only gives him one night a month to wrap up the settlement. My favorite detail is Mary’s long pointed fingernails.

Have a great Saturday everybody, and I’ll take Wolfman’s appearance as a salute to the anniversary of the Moon landing. I’m looking forward to a day of Tranquility around home base.

Great poem today, Angela. I really like how his wife is “no longer in the dark” although that wouldn’t be such a good thing for her, and “ghoul necks door” is notable. Not only is she going to get all that physical property, Bloody Mary is going to GARNISH his CELERY.

“He would always HEDGE when it was time to EMBARK on his DAILY commute because he knew the ferry made him QUEASY”.

🎵” I’m inhuman too, just like you; I fell with a thud
But how can a fella win when dames get in his BLOOD?
How does it feel when we stand hand in glove?
Clammy, Clammy, Clammy, my love”🎵 (Spike Jones and the Band that Plays for Fun)

    • Hey Steve…Mike said last night that it was Universal’s Wolfman..But I had to have been looking in the wrong place, because I couldn’t do the facial recognition thing at all, and I looked at a ton of Wolfman pics…The mouth threw me way off…Do me a favor, I don’t have time to go look again, email me a pic, ok? 🙋🏻

      • I don’t have any pictures that would be better than what you’ve seen already. I agree, he does look a bit lion-ish around the mouth, but the association with the Universal Classic Monsters just seems too strong to pass up. 🙋🏻‍♂️

  9. We were confused because we chose an alternate fourth word that is in the dictionary and it is BEMARK. So we couldn’ Get the answer with the wrong letters. They should not use letters that can produce more than one word. I have seen this before.

    • Hi Terry. I see what you mean. I just googled BEMARK. To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever heard the word before. But a few weeks back, a question like this arose when a reader challenged the letters given, saying that they found another word that could be made besides the one that appeared in the puzzle. And David made a point of telling us how when he used NEEDLE, someone challenged him with the word LENDEE. While it very rarely happens, David and Jeff told us that they use only the Merriam-Webster Dictionary when selecting their words. And that any other possible alternate spelling found on Google and/or in other dictionaries are most likely not going to be considered valid Jumble words. Believe me, I can understand your frustration in not being able to solve the puzzle. I know it would drive me crazy…But all I can do is pass the information on to them, and I will. But since EMBARK has been used in the Jumble puzzles before, I’m at a loss as to what to tell you right now. I’m sorry for the confusion, and I hope I’ve done a good enough job of explaining what I know to be true. I’m just the messenger! 😉 I wish you a pleasant evening, and I thank you for your comment. We’d be happy to see you here again. Be well. 🙋🏻
