THE SUBMARINE IN THE SEA BETWEEN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND WAS – – –

Good Morning, Everyone!        ⬇️ DOWN…BLUNDER! ⬇️

🎶 UNDER THE SEA, UNDER THE SEA..,Nobody beat us, fry us and eat us, in fricassee…We what the land folks loves to cook…UNDER THE SEA we off the hook…We got no troubles, Life is the bubbles…UNDER THE SEA…”🎶 “Under The Sea” – (From The Little Mermaid – Samuel E. Wright  1989)

⬇️ As I looked at today’s cartoon, some common sense told me,
That nothing’s VAGUE about it, I’m not going under sea.
To me it’s like one playing a PRANK upon a friend,
You know it might be risky, but you know how it will end…
No matter how inane it seems, there’s always WISDOM there,
There’s nothing you can’t HANDLE, there’s no element of fear.
But being enclosed in a tube and going down real deep?
Just doesn’t register with me…above the sea I’ll keep…
A firm believer I’ll remain, let no man put asunder,
Me and my land legs, no Sirree…I’ll never go DOWN UNDER!⬇️

Being a little UNDER the gun this morning, time wise, I didn’t delve way DEEP into the Archives. I found the most recent use of all our words, and I was happy enough KNOT going any farther…So I can tell you that PRANK holds the BOTTOM slot, last seen in 2016, VAGUE and HANDLE appeared in 2017, and WISDOM comes out ON TOP with a showing just this past January 27th. But I have to ask. How many of you “saw” Guava this morning? Show of hands…I thought so. So did I. And then I thought about a GuavaCoconut Rum Cocktail that I tried recently. And I have to tell you…It’s true what they say about those “Sweet” drinks…eventually, they can definitely put you UNDER….But I digress…Ok..KNOT one word caused a pause…And now let’s SEA what Jeff’s offering UP today…

Strangely enough, we were UNDER David’s SPELL of the DEEP Blue SEA KNOT too long ago. June 11th to be exact. And yet here we are again today. And you know what else I came across? Back on July 18th, 2017, we also had a SUBMARINE-related puzzle and VAGUE was one of the words that day also. I don’t know WATER is, but I enjoy these little quirky things…I find them SUBlime. Anyway…Once again finding ourselves trapped, I mean enclosed in a Submarine, we see a Captain and two Submariners navigating in the SEA between Australia and New Zealand. The TASMAN SEA. But the DIRECTION we need to go in for today’s solution is an easy, SEAzy one…The term “DOWN UNDER” is a colloquialism that refers to Australia and New Zealand, and it comes from the fact that both these countries are located in the Southern Hemisphere…below many other countries on the Globe. Given that, and the Captain saying…”Continue DIVING to 2,000 feet”…well there’s no where else to go but…DOWN UNDER. AYE-AYE Yai, David! Good one! It’s got great DEPTH!

Ok, eye candy. There’s really KNOT much to go on today. What we SEA is what we get. Gray interior of a Submarine. Three Men and the Navy. Captain, white shirt, blue cap. Submariners in royal blue shirts. Control panels…Circular teal-colored ballast tank control. Close quarters, very close quarters…Did I mention that I’m claustrophobic? So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone…And always set your sights HIGH…⬆️🙋🏻

And just because... 🎶We all live in a Yellow Submarine. ..🎶 The Beatles  1966

  1. Saturday words….🙋🏻

° WISDOM dictated that he come clean about the PRANK where he buried all the beer DOWN UNDER the porch…since being VAGUE at first proved that he didn’t have a HANDLE on the situation at all…

° The answers given were quite VAGUE, they definitely won’t do,
No one could get a HANDLE on what started up anew…
    A PRANK pulled on a co-worker wasn’t a terrible thing,
But WISDOM’s taking leave it seems and chaos is on wing…
Machinery has now been ruined…it’s causing too much blunder,
Somebody needs to come clean and solve this mystery DOWN UNDER..

  2. Good morning. I see that the easiest of the words was the opposite for me. Maybe it was the eight scoops of ice cream last night that dulled the brain for awhile. The cartoon answer was easy and down right clever. Angela,I see your just a kid at heart with the most enjoyable music video. It brightened up my day. I don’t know if you can see from S.I.. but,I didn’t raise my hand regarding Guava. Let’s chalk it up to the ice cream. Oh,I’ll pretend I didn’t see that last singing group at the end of your post. You know I prefer the 1st song over your last. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn…How you brighten up my day! No, I didn’t notice whether you rose your hand or not! 😂 ..But I did fall asleep for a while…The video? One of my favorite movies. I sit and watch all the Disney movies ad nauseam with the kids. And I sing right along with them too! This song in particular is one of my favorites. You can’t help but smile listening to it. And I’m so glad you enjoyed it too. But 2 things…what word gave you a problem, and what’s up with the 8 scoops? Were you watching the Mets game? Drowning your sorrows? That’s a whole lot of scoops! What’re confusing it with Raisin Bran? 😉 I used to do that at one time…indulge in ice cream while watching the Mets..but then the Dr told me I was pre-diabetic…and I realized why! I swear…that team will kill us one way or another! Now I drink instead… I figure it’s safer…no history of alcoholism in the family!!! 😂😂 And yes..I know, I know…the Beatles….But you do realize that I need to make others happy besides you, right? 😘 Have a great day, Brooklyn…We’re promised no humidity today!!! Enjoy! ⬆️🙋🏻

  3. I’m on the road again on twin watch in Dixon so had to do the online Ark Dem puzzle.I found it to be incredibly easy especially for a Saturday. I didn’t even have to take pencil and paper to write down the circled letters for the final solution.

  4. Hello Angela. I’m in that 5% group that had trouble with Wisdom. Since I indulged the other day and bought ice cream,I decided what’s better than four scoops. I didn’t want to be too greedy and have more than eight so that was the number I came upon. After all I’m watching my waist line. No comment please. I do live with the fact that The Beatles is my oldest sons favorite group. Take care.

    • My bad, Brooklyn..I didn’t even think about the poll…But your waistline..Of course….8 .scoops…Sure…WIDE not? 😉 And the Beatles..What can you do? You know the old saying…”You can lead your kids to water…but you can’t make them like your music”..Something like that…I forget…😂😂🙋🏻

      • By the way. I forgot to add a comment about our beloved Mets. I watch them in spurts now because I’m tired of being depressed with the way they play. The annoying friend at bocce keeps texting me if I’m watching them and I break his horns why would I want to get down when I can watch the Yankees. I told him before the game started that they would lose. The way I feel it would have to be more that a bobble head to get me to a game this year. I’m tired of watching them lose when I’m there.

      • Brooklyn…Tell the Yankee fan to chill. They’re always crowing. Granted, the team is good, but I look at it this way…Watching the Mets covers my going to confession…Cancels it right out. And forget about penance! We usually do enough to carry over into the next season, right? So..why ruin a good thing? I’m telling ya Paul…Since I switched up the ice cream for the booze? ..the games have gotten so much more enjoyable. 😂 I mean sure, we’ve definitely dropped the ball…(no pun intended)…but when you don’t look for much..you don’t get that disappointed. Am I right? C’est la vie…Another season bites the dust…and I stay out of the confessional! 😂😂🙋🏻

  5. Good day all! Vague has always puzzled me, I fall into an old English trap – two vowels together (or not separated by more than 2 consonants) take the long sound of the first. So should it be vau-ge or va-gue? Paul, Chuck, Angela, don’t know how long before printing these puzzles are submitted, but suspect a doozie real soon. Have a great day!

    • Good Morning, Jamu. I never gave Vague a second thought as to pronunciation..It’s just Vague, IMO…And the puzzles are submitted about 6 week in advance.. But as far as a doozie as you say? Pshaw…No such thing…. You afraid of a little puzzle? 😉🙋🏻

  6. Hi all – Saw all the words this morning. Then got too clever by half and delayed myself by trying to work Tasman and sea in there (yeah, proper name wouldn’t work anyway) before seeing that the answer layout just required DOWN UNDER.

I didn’t see GUAVA Angela, but since you asked, I took another look and saw AGAVE, so here’s a link:

Have a great day and weekend everyone!

🎵“We would shout and swim about
The coral that lies beneath the waves
Oh what joy for every girl and boy
Knowing they’re happy and they’re safe
We would be so happy you and me
No one there to tell us what to do
I’d like to be under the sea
In an octopus’ garden with you”🎵 Written by Ringo for The Beatles

“Only after falling for the PRANK the second time did he recall some VAGUE WISDOM about how to HANDLE it”.

Here’s a Mets note for you: During the Giants’ game last night, they showed a graphic listing the order of teams for the second wildcard and titled it “Moving on up (Kind of)” 😂 and showing the Giants third from last, leading only – the Mets and Marlins. Ouch.
