Good Morning, Everyone!    🧽 CLEANING UP…FOR A CHANGE OF SPACE 🧽

🎶Countdown-Time in Outer Space🎶Dave Brubeck Quartet –  Dedicated to John Glenn 1962

🧽 Imagine being CLOTHE in a Space suit of great restraint,
And then to find out something’s wrong, and traveling you ain’t…
Things can’t be very BUBBLY, I’m sure it gets them down,
But Space probers are BURLY-hearts…I doubt we’d see a frown.
Life’s not always a DAISY-like segue where things go right,
And just like this, things can occur that end our hopes of flight…
Postponement is the answer, for no quitters will be dubbed…
There’s always next time even though for now things will be SCRUBBED 🧽

While BURLY and DAISY have taken up SPACE on our pages before, it seems that both of our 6-letter words today may be UNCHARTEDBURLY last appeared on 09/22/18, while DAISY, also a 2018 entry, had previously TRAVELED back to 09/24/14. Again though,  as I’ve mentioned before, do words such as CLOTHE and BUBBLY seem so random, that up until now they’ve both eluded being cast as Jumble entries? I have trouble believing that common words such as some that we’ve seen lately were never used in the puzzles before. Who knows…But bottom line, despite a slight SET BACK with CLOTHE for two of the Early Birds, they easily WIPED UP the other words, and things TOOK OFF as planned…

So, our cartoon today. Hmm. Do I detect a pattern of some sort? We had a Space Travel themed puzzle yday, and here we have one again today. Although today we’re dealing with the real thing. Finding ourselves outdoors, at the site of a new Space Capsule, we learn from SUNNY, the female engineer in charge, that a test flight is being RESCHEDULED due to the presence of contaminants; and her co-worker, ATOM,  offers to tell the crew. Needing to clean and sanitize the capsule before the launch can take place, we see two men SCRUBBING the inside of the capsule…and here we have the answer to our puzzle today….The flight had to be SCRUBBED. Good one, David. You definitely ROCKET! And I’ve included a link here that gives us some backGROUND  info into the use of the word SCRUB where it relates to a cancelled mission.

Eye candy? The gray capsule is shown against a blue sky with one puffy cloud off to the left. Two porthole type openings are shown in the capsule, one behind the head of the workman at left, and the other at the front lower right at the entry door. The two men assigned to the decontamination are CLOTHE in teal colored Hazmat-type suits, complete with head coverings, masks, goggles and booties. They each hold yellow industrial sized sponges, and the one at left is spraying from a red bottle. The contents can be seen streaming out, and I think he’s using that well known cleaner, SPACE-X. SUNNY  holds a clipboard, and ATOM sports a red tie. But there’s nothing EARTH shattering today, so I’m just going to end this, and TAKE OFF. Have a great day, Everyone! And please TRAVEL safe if you’re hitting the road today…🧽🙋🏻

  1. Today’s Words..I thought they might not FLY, but here goes…🙋🏻

° Just because he had a BURLY physique, and it was hard to CLOTHE himself in the more popular fashions, there was no way he was going to wear those swim trunks with the BUBBLY fish, or that T-Shirt with the big DAISY in the middle; this store needed to be SCRUBBED from his list…

° He volunteered for wardrobe…he was sorry that he did,
‘Cause now he had to CLOTHE them all, he thought it’d be just kids…
One guy was really BURLY, another so rail thin,
Two women wanted DAISY Dukes…they said wearing a grin.
One kid asked for just blue clothes…a BUBBLY one was he,
And then there were the little girls fashion-favoring Disney.
He had no one to turn to…this time he knew he flubbed…
He wished he’d taken Janitor, where he would have just SCRUBBED!

  2. Good morning. No problem with the words or cartoon answer. That’s the long and the short of it. Angela, you had me on the song choice. Thought for sure you would go with old blue eyes. But then again you like to mix it up a bit. Thanks for all the info. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Sunshine! I’m with you..an easy, breezy one today. And clever…The song? You’re thinking 🎶Fly Me to the Moon🎶, right? You know me well…I did go back and forth with it for a while, but 2 things…I’ve used it a few times before, and I wasn’t sure if this was a Moon launch or not. So, you’re right again, I mixed it up! A little change of…sPACE! 😉 Stay out of the heat, Brooklyn..and have a great day! 🧽🙋🏻

  3. Good morning, Angela. My entry.. The BURLY looking man with a BUBBLY personality standing in a DAISY patch by the side of the road, said he was asking for alms to help feed and CLOTHE his family of eight. Stay cool and enjoy The Fourth!

  5. Great minds think alike, Chuck. I wrote down blurry too and only when I went to the cartoon answer did I realize that I needed that extra vowel and another B. All in all it was an easy puzzle today. Happy day to all.

    • LOL! Good Morning, Betty! I answer the emails in the order they come on, so I didn’t get to read yours until after I’d already replied to the Professor! I guess it’s not a Midwest thing after all! 😂 Hope your having a great day, Betty! Enjoy! 🧽🙋🏻

  7. Hi all – No problem with the words or puzzle today. I hope they install some seats for the astronauts before the next liftoff.

Have a great day, all. I forgot to wish the Canadians and those of you with family and friends there a happy Canada Day on Monday (July 1), so my belated good wishes to you. I think they and I were distracted by the NHL draft!

Thanks for the info about “scrubbed” Angela, and the notice of the new game.

“After BURLY Mr. Hoyt gave his dog DAISY a bath of BUBBLY dog shampoo, he decided to CLOTHE her in a cozy sweater to keep her warm”.

    • Hey Steve….The game is another gem, and easy as pie! Plus you’re given Bonus Points for just showing up! 😂 And you know I can’t help but love the whimsy of your sentence…👏🏻👏🏻Well done! But….as much as we all love Daisy Dog, you know proper names are a no-no in Jumble play…and always SCRUBBED as a rule….This could lead to total anarchy! 😂🧽🙋🏻

          • No, by including his beloved dog. Can’t go wrong there, 🐶😂
Besides, if the rules for making Jumbles also applied to making sentences in the Jumble Answers comments, we would have to only use five and six letter words. 🙋🏻‍♂️

            • Excuses, Excuses! These aren’t just some FLY by night rules! It’s totally imPROPER, period! A little decorum…please! 😂🧽🙋🏻

  8. Words with y in them are too easy. The y almost always is the last letter.

    • Hi AnonYmous…Y-es theY usuallY are! And Y-es it usuallY is! .. And todaY we have THREE! How luckY are we? 😂 Thanks for stopping bY! 🧽🙋🏻

      • Today we have three! It’s true very often, but speaking for mYself, I think as a sYmptom of good puzzle(hYphen)making, David has a sYstem to ensure we get words like hYena regularly.

        • Oh..you’re right! I overlooked DAISY! 😂😂 EDIT! 🧽🤦🏻‍♀️

  9. In your little answer blog, you seem to use the word CLOTHE in past tense. Am pretty sure it’s a present tense word ….as in “I am going to CLOTHE my kids in their aunt’s hand-me-downs .”

    • Hi Terry. I’ve used it in a few places, and you’re right, I may have needed to add a “D” on to it here and there. I admit, I take poetic license wherever I can..and sometimes to an extreme… And I think today it’s reVERBerating on me! 😉 Thanks for stopping by, and please do so again. It’s always a pleasure meeting new readers! 🧽🙋🏻
