CARTOON ANSWER:
THE CLIMBERS WHO WORKED TOGETHER IN AN ATTEMPT TO REACH THE SUMMIT – – –
MU TE DA PE = TEAMED UP
Good Morning, Everyone! ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ
๐ถYou’ve got a friend in me…You’ve got a friend in me…When the road looks rough ahead…And you’re miles and miles from your nice warm bed…You just remember what your old pal said…Boy, you’ve got a friend in me…Yeah, you’ve got a friend in me… ๐ถ “You’ve Got a Friend In Me” – Randy Newman 1996
๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ The THEME today familiar…we’ve been up here before,
A moutain climbing feat we see to DABBLE with once more.
It certainly is not for me…a MINUS in my book,
In fact I’m quite content to stay without giving a look…
I’ll stick to pad and PENCIL, write about it is enough,
Kudos to those who venture, but for this I’m not TEAMED UP ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ
DABBLE. It looks like once again today we have another word making its Jumble debut. They have been adding UP, haven’t they? But our other three words have graced us with their presence before. MINUS goes as far back as 2014, THEME 2015, while PENCIL was written in on 08/05/2018.…And not even the BALD in DABBLE was a disTRACTION this morning…It was an easy go of it…On a SCALE of 1 to 10? The difficulty LEVEL came in at a SOLID 2. So, let’s GET DOWN to the nitty-gritty and see what Jeff’s been UP to…
Our cartoon…For those of you who do your words first…have you PEAKed yet? Well, as I I mentioned earlier, you’re going to see that we’re MOUNTAIN CLIMBING again. Yep, once more we find ourselves between a ROCK and an Oh my God place…What can I say? It’s just not my cUP of tea…For those of you do the Jumble each day as you wake UP, you’ll probably recall that we were in a similar setting quite recently. May 4th, and May 25th to be exact. Ok, listen…it’s not that I mean to get HUNG UP here, but these DEPTH-defying things are KNOT exactly the HIGH POINTS of my life. And maybe it’s because my equilibrium is still a little off after watching the Wallendas last night, so I am feeling a little FRICTION here. But the show must go on, so I guess I’ll just buck UP, get OVER it, and go with the WHOA!!! So, today we have three Jumble characters, two men and a women, looking ecstatically happy and smiling as they reach the end of their climb. Tethered to one another, it’s obvious that they’re working as a TEAM, and that they’re giving one another a HAND. Well the men anyway…I guess the woman DREW the short straw? I really don’t know how it all works…and I don’t want to BELAY the post by looking it UP, but we can see that the TEAM work paid off, and the encouraging dialogue…” Take my hand”, “We’re almost there”, and “Great job everybody” TIES it all UP. So, in answer to our question…To reach the summit, they TEAMED UP! Good one, David…HIGH five!
Ok, eye candy…With a clear blue sky serving as the BACKDROP, we see our lead man, dressed in khaki, offering the red-shirted man-in-the-middle a hand getting over that last leg. And bringing UP the rear, our woman, to me the BOULDER one of the three, is shown HOLDING her own…But except for a few pines trees amongst the black and brown terrain, the only thing catching my eye is something in a cylinder shape attached to the second mans belt. A flashlight, a water bag, a personal rescue kit? I can’t identify it, but maybe one of you can CRACK the mystery. So, There you have it, Folks..Done! Have a great day, Everyone! And may we all set our sights HIGHER…and just ROCK ON! ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ป
***Reminder*** All the blue shaded wording contains a link ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ป
The young author decided his theme would be about love minus love, a dabble into lost love where a young couple sink into a relationship of anger & debasement. He picks his pencil & starts “A talk to dismember”.
Boy, that CUTS to the quick, huh? Good Morning, Jamu. Love at first fight? ๐๐๐ป
Oh “teamed up” No really hard one.
I liked the math reference, minus,in the first anagram. We’re away from a real newspaper,in Naperville, looking after our 6 yr old granddaughter,Marla, who is doing well after emergency appendix surgery last Thursday.Getting back to the puzzle,an easy Mon puzzle indeed.
Math reference? I guess…more or LESS! ๐ Good Morning, Professor. Sorry to hear about your Granddaughter…Sending POSITIVE thoughts her way…Yes, an easy, breezy go of it today. Cute and clever. Wishing you and yours a great day…Be well! ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ป
I liked “mated up” better. Especially when you say the words – sounds like “made it up”.
Hi Steve. Good Morning. I agree, the โMade it upโ vs โMated Upโ is clever, and does have a certain ring to it, but the term Mated Up in of itself is really not something one hears in normal conversation. At least not here in America! ๐ But you never know…David might be listening, and think the phrasing worth using in a future puzzle…Thanks for commenting, itโs always a pleasure when thereโs some TEAM effort from our readers! Nice to meet you, Steve, and please drop by again! Hereโs to a great day! ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ป
Hereโs my contribution to the TEAM effort! ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ป
ยฐ Assigned to write a THEME about the history of a PENCIL, he wanted to DABBLE in the background of it but MINUS all the minutiae, so he decided it would be better if he and a few other classmates TEAMED UP…
ยฐ While working on a party THEME, she thought that she might DABBLE,
And got a pad and PENCIL out and started thoughts to scrabble…
The different ideas bandied โround…a plus, a MINUS had,
She didnโt want it to be one that just seemed like a fad…
Deciding proved quite daunting and she wanted to give up…
Until her best friend offered help…and so they both TEAMED UP!
The THEME of the Wall Street firm basically is: If you DABBLE in the market MINUS knowledge, you’ll need more than a PENCIL to bail you out.
Good Morning, Chuck! LOL! A truer statement. never spoken! ๐๐ป๐๐ปBravo! Clever as always! Hope your morningโs going well! ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ป
Here’s a thought – When the saloon queen was lost on the prairie, the townspeople “teamed up” and went “to/get/her”
๐๐ป๐๐ป Good one, Jamu! ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ป
Just a guess but this is the only cylinder that “came up” when I searched mountain climbing cylinder…Mountaineers carry oxygen cylinder while climbing high mountains to avoid suffocation. As we go higher and higher, at high altitudes, amount of oxygen present in the atmosphere is determined by atmospheric pressure. … This decreases the number of oxygen molecules per breath making the person suffocated at high altitudes.
Good Morning, Clay! See? This is what I mean…Who in their right mind purposely tempts suffocation? I suffer enough grief just fighting off the humidity…SMH! And just reading this now made me light-headed, ๐ Anyway, me dear research man extraordinaire, you may have once more come to the rescue. Thank you. I did start reading some stuff, and came across a company named Petzl, and got into some info about a rappel device and some other nonsense, but as I mentioned in the post…my vertigo wasnโt thrilled with it all. Plus it was 5 in the morning, and the only thing I was looking to digest was breakfast, so I just gave UP. I draw the line on my 4-inch heels, Clay, ๐ Anything after that, Iโll pass! ๐ ๐๐ป
Hi all – Pretty instant solve today, even on PENCIL, where the IC didnโt go at the end.
My only thought on the cylinder was that it might contain chalk for the hands, although maybe thatโs usually in a soft pouch.
Have a great day, everyone!
Angela, I was going to say that I assumed you did *not* watch the Wallendas in Times Square. Glutton for punishment? Those things freak me out. Bad enough looking over the edge of my 36th floor balcony in Chicago long ago.
“BELAY the postโ made me laugh; I didnโt find the stretch RAPPELENT.
I will just shamelessly indulge myself here:
โJoni Mitchell decided to DABBLE in the THEME of โElectricityโ, TEAMED UP with her band, picked up her PENCIL, and began writing:
๐ตโThe MINUS is loveless, he talks to the land
And the leaves fall, and the pond over-ices….โ๐ต

I donโt see how one could KNOT watch…The pre-hype was overkill…no pun intended…IMO it was a once in a lifetime thing…Talk about overcoming onesโ fears? It was totally unbelievable. It did make me sweat, but Iโm glad I watched…Anyway, I was wrapped up in Lou the whole time, so a lot of it was just PEAKing…but it was amazing. Clays probably ON POINT with whatever that thing is, but again, we canโt tell if itโs soft or not, right? Maybe someone will HOOK us UP, and let us in on what the DRAWing is…๐ค..And as far as Joni goes…youโve passed shameless years ago, G…๐คซ thereโs no coming back!๐๐ Have a good one! ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ป
No I didn’t watch, I’ve seen Evel & the Wallendas walk across tall bushings, the grand canyon, etc. I figured it’d be on the news if…… I’ve seen enough tears & pain for a lifetime & more is sure to come. I AM happy for the sibs & wish them continued success.
Good afternoon. Finally back home and the first thing I did was do this very easy jumble. From beginning to its conclusion it was a Monday gift handed to us. Nothing else to say except that Angie nailed it with her song choice and use of the words. Until tomorrow stay well.
Hey Brooklyn…Yes it was an easy breezy…And thanks for the Shout Out! What did you think of the insert in the paper yday? A lot to look back on, huh? I still havenโt read through it all…Hope youโre having a good day…๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ป
