EAUTBLOD = “BALED” OUT
Good Morning, Everyone! ๐จ๐ปโ๐พ E-I-E-I…WOE ๐จ๐ปโ๐พ
๐ถ HAY Jude, don’t make it bad…Take a sad song and,MAKE IT BETTER…Remember to let her into your heart…Then you can start to make it better…๐ถ “Hey Jude” – The Beatles 1968
๐จ๐ปโ๐พ This farmer has an issue, despite how hard he toiled..
He finds himself with the short straw…standing upon his soil..
A heavy BLOTCH upon him, he’s near the UTTER end…
Like PECAN farmers also…he’s short money to spend…
The ODDEST thing we see today is not hay and it’s hue..
It’s how someone can work so hard and still have such debts due.
How lucky that this farmer’s found a helping hand with clout,
So he can harvest once again because he’s been “BALED” OUT๐จ๐ปโ๐พ
With Mike and I both pressed for time today, I’m NUT going to drag this out…PECAN may be CROPping up as another new addition to the Jumble Family of words. And this is when we’ve last seen our others…ODDEST-05/12/19, BLOTCH-03/17/14, and UTTER-12/14/18…Ok…Letโs make HAY…
Today we find ourselves out on a HAY Farm, where we overhear two farmers, RED GRANGER and JOHNNY CASH speaking, BALES of Hay lying strewn abOUT. Red is telling Johnny that this harvest may be the last STRAW. Deep in debt, he’s worried that he won’t be able to continue at any COST. But luckily, before he gets a THRASHING, Johnny sees his need to be “BALED” OUT and offers to help…What a friend in need! Covering the neighbor’s goods…Maybe I should have named him Christian BALE!
Eye candy? Both our Farmers are dressed in typical fashion…jeans and work shirts. Red wears a red cap. Johnny the usual STRAW colored topper, and he has a red handkerchief hanging from his pocket. Not much in the way of scenery…A Hay Baling machine. A wide open field, a few Bales of Hay as far as the eye can see. The ground green and the Hay yellow…And there’s the MONEY shot…The most desirable Hay is bright green, while Straw is yellow…Maybe I should start coloring these panels…I’d have a FIELD day, and I bet I could make a BUNDLE! So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone…And may you all make HAY while the sun shines…๐จ๐ปโ๐พ๐๐ป
Straw is yellow…..Hay is generally green, a dried green….City Boy!
Jeff has nothing to do with the coloring of the cartoons. Like a needle in a HAYstack trying to get these colors right! Have a good one! ๐จ๐ปโ๐พ๐๐ป
HAY Mike…HAY Everyone. Good Morning…I didnโt want it to be all abOUT pie, so I changed it up and did a second rhyme…๐จ๐ปโ๐พ๐๐ป
ยฐ It was the ODDEST thing to see the BLOTCH atop the PECAN pie, and as she cringed in UTTER disgust at the sight, she realized that she’d need to be BALED OUT if she was to make another in time…
ยฐ He had a BLOTCH upon his cheek…it was the ODDEST thing
She noticed it when he dropped by the PECAN pies to bring…
She greeted him, but all he managed to do was barely UTTER…
“I’m either allergic to nuts…or maybe almond butter”?
He dropped the pies…his eyes swelled up, his mouth looked like a snout…
And she told him “Don’t worry…I’ll help you get BALED OUT”…
ยฐ His getting caught in Costco, just to sate his PECAN urge,
With bags and bags of nuts on him..he didn’t need to splurge…
And now a BLOTCH would be upon his character report,
The ODDEST thing to bring him down, the judge told him in court.
He opened up his mouth to speak but all that he could UTTER,
Was he regretted the dumb deed…there’d never be another…
And could he ask a question…something he worried about…
Had his brother arrived yet…so that he could be BALED OUT?
Good morning. For some strange reason I couldn’t get the easiest word PECAN. I breezed right through the others but was stumped on the first so I looked at the cartoon and obtained a blind solve. Now knowing the two letters I backed into pecan. The bale of hay on the ground made it real simple. Liked your sentences Angela. Tried what you left me and I still didn’t come up with the everyday event. Will wait till I see one of my kids to check for me. I have no idea how to paste something. Until tomorrow stay well.
Hi Paul. Good Morning. Yea, the anagramโs a little tricky with Pecan. Iโm sorry the link didnโt work for you. But you can still just google National Calendar Day, and see it day by day. Thanks for the Shout Out, And I hope you enjoy your day…despite all the rain.๐จ๐ปโ๐พ๐๐ป
Good Morning! beautiful day! Oddest slowed me down, but it had the best consonant to vowel beat, even better than pecan. Vowel, consonant, consonant (repeat). Out fell quickly & left another “pecan” beat – “baled”. Great puzzle with simple punny answer & beat. I know, strange analysis, but again, it’s from a stranger (ouch!)
Good Morning, Jamu. I’m in total agreement, albeit not in those exact words! I too think it’s an easy breezy puzzle, with a very clever pun. As Paul said, those bales of HAY set the stage…Glad you’re having a beautiful day, we’re going thru another day of rain here. Have a good one! ๐๐ป
There was UTTER chaos in the family when the ODDEST looking BLOTCH was discovered carved into the bark of their PECAN tree which was supposedly over two hundred years old.
Terrific Chuck. By any chance was it a heart with Angela’s initials carved into the tree. It’s no longer in Brooklyn.
ROTFL! Brooklyn..my tree is gone? You mean to tell me…A Tree Doesnโt Grow in Brooklyn? I wonder if it was Sandy that did it in…or was it gone before then? Ah, the memories…But wait a minute…Did we even have Pecan trees in Marine Park? Or are we both barking up the wrong one? ๐๐๐ป
I find myself up a tree trying to find an answer to your question, Paul. Thanks for the shout out.
LOL…Chuck, see my comment to Jamu…It explains Paulโs reference to the tree. ๐ฅ๐๐ป
Hi Chuck…Whereโve you been? A Happy Belated Fathers Day to you. ๐๐ป๐๐ป Nicely done! I like the Utter chaos…great imaginative slant. Pecan didnโt afford us much wiggle room, but I like your take on it. Hoping you have a great day! ๐จ๐ปโ๐พ๐๐ป
Good morning, Angela. Thanks for belated FD greeting. My old brain needs a break once in awhile, so I give it a rest. Trying to write a sentence every day with four or six unrelated words can be very taxing. Keep up the good work!
Youโre very welcome, Chuck.I hope you were treated well. It may be taxing, but you make it pay off! ๐ Thanks for the Shout Out, and I hope youโre staying dry! ๐งโ๏ธ๐๐ป
Chuck, Paul: A two hundred year old carving on a tree? What are you trying to say? Wouldn’t be surprised if Angela poisons your poutine.
Jamu! Stop that! Poison someone? Moi? I make love, not war! I wouldnโt hurt a FLY.! And Iโd never waste good Poutine! ๐Thereโs a story here…The park where Paul plays Bocce is an old haunt of mine. Years ago my fiancรฉ and I carved our initials into a tree there…I joked with Paul, when I first met him, that he should take a look and see if they were still there…But alas, it seems KNOT. And Iโm sure Chuck is totally up a tree by Paulโs comment! So, no talk of poison..That STINGS…( yes, these are puns left over from yโday…why KNOT)! ๐๐จ๐ปโ๐พ๐๐ป
Thanks, Angela. I did not see your 11:04 response or I obviously wouldn’t have used that phrase. Sorry for the plagiarism!!!!
LOL! Chuck, I didnโt even realize that Iโd said it that way!๐ But no apology necessary…And I applaud your cleverness! ๐๐๐ป
Angela: HAD to poke them!
Nice pokes only! This is a kinder, gentler blog! ๐๐ป
Hi Everyone,
I first thought capen was peace, which would have been nice. Not sure if we’ve ever seen that hopeful word. Like Paul, I had the most trouble with PECAN and backed in.
Good Morning, Caroline. PECANโs numbers are climbing…although right now it looks like itโs ODDEST thatโs driving people NUTS! Have a great day, Caroline! ๐ฅ๐๐ป
I only got ODDEST because I’ve seen it before. Wishing you and everyone a great day, too.
Hi Caroline. Yes, we saw it on Motherโs Day, where it was anagrammed as SEDTOD.๐๐ป
Iโm with Paul. For some reason pecan took me the longest to solve even though it doesnโt seem that difficult – the words never do in hindsight. Had to back into it. Cartoon solve did come easily though. Have a good day everyone.
Good Morning, Betty. Thatโs TREE of us now CHEWsing PECAN as the stickler…Letโs see if the numbers CLIMB! Hope you have a great day! ๐ฅ๐๐ป
The first word drove me nuts!
No piece of pie, huh? Have a good one, John! ๐ฅ๐๐ป
John…I failed to wish you a Happy Fathers Day..I hope it was a good one! ๐๐ป
Thanks, Angela. It was a long second day in the car returning from CA. My eldest son had dinner all prepped and did the cooking, too, upon our early evening arrival. It WAS a good day!
The only thing that beats sitting down to a good meal is not having had to cook it! ๐ Youโre very welcome, John, and Iโm glad you enjoyed your day! ๐ท ๐๐ป
Pecan wasn’t a problem, but oddest was. I had to back into oddest from the baled out solution, needing the o and d.
HAY Professor! ODDEST is still leading in the polls, so youโre in good company. At least the solution was easy enough to give you the letters you needed. Hope youโre enjoying your day! ๐จ๐ปโ๐พ๐๐ป
Hi all – Pretty much an instant solve today, since putting CH together worked for BLOTCH and the double letter trick worked for ODDEST.
Have a great day, everyone!
โThe ODDEST BLOTCH on the PECAN crop caused its UTTER ruinโ.
๐ตโBeware of The Blob, it creeps And leaps and glides and slides
Across the floor Right through the door And all around the wall
A splotch, a BLOTCH
Be careful of The Blobโ๐ต โThe Blobโ, by The Five Blobs, 1958.
Donโt laugh *too* hard; the song reached #33 and was written by Burt Bacharach and Mack David, Halโs brother.
Nicely done, G! ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐จ๐ปโ๐พ๐๐ป
Thanks Angela! Hope you have a great day. Iโm a bit pressed for time also with errands, but the weatherโs beautiful! ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Enjoy! ๐๐๐ป
