Happy Wednesday, everyone! David gave us a brand new clue word with SIZZLE making its debut into gameplay this morning. We’ve been getting new words left and right, and I feel a bit spoiled at this point. The other three words were all used within the last year. LOWDR was the only new anagram gracing us with its presence, but it was just as easily deciphered as all of the others. With my mental warmup complete, it was time to head on over to the cartoon.

The setting for today’s panel brings us to photo shoot where we encounter two Jumble characters. The gentleman on the left is a model and his dialogue is a simple one sentence question. It seems as though he’d like a bit more information about the product that he’s about to display for the camera and the photographer clues him in. She explains that it’s a new kind of underwear made from a high-tech material, and she can be seen pointing to an illustration displaying the two different styles.

The man on the left is dressed in a light blue bathrobe tied with a simple side knot. His hairy legs immediately caught my attention and I couldn’t help but release a chuckle. The tripod displays a pair of boxer briefs on the left and a traditional pair of underwear on the right. Below each pair is a faceless model that shows a different angle of the garment. The small drawings may have been difficult to see in your newspaper, but I could see that the model on the right was holding a steaming hot cup of coffee.

The final solve was an anagram consisting of 11-letters that would produce two words. The layout was rather impressive and kept the solution well hidden. I had to rearrange the letters several times in the margins of my paper before I finally saw BRIEF. The W and the two L’s brought WELL into view leaving the -ED suffix for the finish. I love a good challenge, and David definitely delivered one this morning. Have a wonderful Wednesday, and I’ll see you right back here tomorrow!

  1. Good Morning, Mike. Good Morning, Everyone. Good Morning Paul and Chuck…🙋🏻

° When he finally gained recognition on the WORLD stage, the model responsible for making fashion magazine sales SIZZLE, spoke FREELY of his success, and made a point of being WELL BRIEFED on each and every BLURB written about him…

° It started off as just a BLURB they buried on page eight,
But now was gaining WORLD renown…the starlet and her weight…
Where once she made men SIZZLE, her body FREELY shown,
She now found herself stigmatized because of how she’d grown…
Never the one to shy away, cameras now caused her grief,
And gossip sheets kept everyone so heavily WELL BRIEFED…

  2. Good morning. For some reason Blurb took the longest to get. I only had one word that was an instant read. The cartoon answer I gave up on and after seeing the answer you can clearly see the boys gave it to you in the drawing. Clever finish. Angela, nice job today and I went back to yesterday and played that song you left. It was fantastic. You do have a flair picking the right music to the puzzle. Thanks for the memories which happen to be another good one of his. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Hi Brooklyn, Good Morning. I thought so too, that the solve was a gimme. It’s a fairly WELL known phrase! And I agree, very clever besides…Thanks for the Shout Outs, Paul, I had a feeling you’d enjoy Dino. It’s a very pretty song, and he had a beautiful, mellow voice, I listen to him often, and he brings back a lot of memories for me too. Hope you have a great day, Brooklyn.🙋🏻

  3. Hi all – Easy one today. FREELY was quick after putting LY at the end, and I’m trying to remember if David said in his video that either SIZZLE or PUZZLE was one of the easiest words to solve that he could think of. BRIEFED was obvious, and writing down the letters showed WELL as the first word.
Once again, Jeff never misses including the male leg hair – no further comment.

    Have a great day, everyone!

“The BLURB on the WELL-BRIEFED scientists’ climate-change newsletter warns that the WORLD will soon FREELY SIZZLE”.

  4. Well briefed was kind of obvious but freely gave me reason to pause. We got home from our extended weekend away greeted by flash floods last night about 8 PM.Rain in the forecast for the next 7 days.

  5. SIZZLE is not a new word — it’s been in my Jumbles Word Database for a long time!

  6. My initial response was well “fibered” since material was mentioned, knew “ed” was a given, so looked again & brief popped out.
    Jami

    • Great work, Jami! We refer to that particular piece of clothing as “underwear” but I do know that they are also called briefs. That’s what made it difficult for me. 🙂

  7. Thought today’s puzzle was very easy. Sunday’s seem to be the hardest.

  8. I was able to unscramble all four words rather quickly but not able to solve the panel today.
    There’s Z

  9. Ha, you called out a certain commenter on the word SIZZLE, and he or she did FIZZLE!
