Good morning, Jumble friends, and happy Tuesday! David and Jeff offered up a mighty swine puzzle today that featured a couple of difficult clue words and a very sty-lish cartoon to wallow in. Both of the 5-letter anagrams were, in my opinion, more challenging than the 6-letter ones, and it was CHAOS that had me bristling with confusion the longest. I guess you could say it was bacon me crazy?! It was also our only repeat anagram as well as our most recently used clue word. BABBLE was the oldest word and I had to search back all the way to 3/18/13 to find its first use.

With all of the clue words out of the way, it was time to head on over to the cartoon. We see two boars on a tropigal island and they’re hamming it up on the beach. The tranquil background, complete with palm trees and a giant volcano, looks like a scene from my favorite movie, Jurassic Pork. The cartoon sentence suggests that the answer to the puzzle would reveal the name of this hog-heaven, and a bit of world geography would also be useful in getting the job done.

Thre were a few extra details in the panel that caught my eye. The tasty beverage that the male boar is holding had a fruit slice on the rim and a tiny little parasowl topper. The magazine that the female was reading wasn’t a copy of Porks Illustrated. Instead it was a brochure that had “TRAVEL” written on the left side and featured a drawing of an island underneath. On the right, the words “HAKUNA MATATA” are written along with a picture of a boar and 9-lines of squiggles. Perhaps the only thing that was missing was a surfboard stuck in the sand behind the couple. That would have had me squealing with delight!

The final solve was an anagram consisting of ten letters. To be truthful, when I read “WILD PIGS” in the cartoon sentence, I instantly knew the answer. I wrote out the letters just to be sure and then filled in the boxes to finish it all off. I’m sure the quotations  left some of you disgruntled, but the clever answer they rendered more than made up for it.   1. Good morning. Not much of a problem today. CHAOS took the longest to get so it was my choice for hardest word. Another cartoon with the finish being in quotations. This was handed to us because you could see that the words were the same,you just had to break them into two. Can’t knock the guys because it’s a clever finish. Until tomorrow stay well.

I was going to do a little scenario about the couple, HAMeron Diaz and SWILL Smith, in this aBOARable cartoon…but my head started BACON me a little dizzy..and my thoughts got a little MUDdled…Plus my throats acting up from the pollen, and it’s a little hard to sWALLOW …But I did leave a song for you..I hope it doesn’t BOAR you!   4. Good Morning, Chuck….No BRISTLEing today! It was too easy to not HAM it up! 🐗🙋🏻

    A firm believer in the age-old ADAGE, “You can’t take it with you”, he decided to leave the CHAOS and BABBLE behind and began making the PROPER arrangements to travel to BORA BORA.

    🐗 He listened to the BABBLE, it bored him to no end,
    The problem needed to be solved before luggage he’d send…
    They said avoid the CHAOS, it’s a PROPER thing to do,
    To send your luggage on ahead…and have it wait for you…
    But in his mind the ADAGE of “All roads leading to Rome…”
    Repeated, causing second thoughts to let it stay at home…
    He’d gladly pay the extra cost and take his bags with him,
    At least he’d feel much safer, not have things turning out grim.
    So he ignored suggestions, that could lead to luggage horror…
    And boarded with his bags intact and left for BORA BORA… 🐗

  6. Good morning, Angela. Here’s my version.. There’s an old ADAGE in BORA BORA that states during periods of CHAOS, it is not PROPER to BABBLE on about one’s own hardship.

    I abhor forced 12(or more) letter hyphenated words, but loved this answer. Bora Bora is often hyphenated, so this fits in. Found the words easy but then at my age they have been used seemingly forever. More, please?
