Good morning. MATURE was the hardest word for me. It took me twice as long to get then the others. The cartoon answer was a clever one. I had THE for the second word until I realized nothing worked with it. When I finally nailed the answer, the clue was in the guys’ puffy cheeks. Outstanding finish for the boys. Until tomorrow stay well
Had to fish around for scampi after reeling everything else in.
Donāt know why WordPress is not recognizing my login – John.
John, itās been like this since WordPressā last āimprovementā a month or so ago. I, and I presume others, have to remember to type in my name every time.
Since my friend told me the FISHY tale about how shrimp SCAMPI is prepared, I’m not as MATURE as I thought for believing his FLUFF.
I had mature, but copied the r rather than the e for the stuff his face solution.Plus scampi gave me fits, but I could work backwards from the solution to it.Kind of a Good Friday fish puzzle.
Had to look for the puzzle online this morning as my newspaper did not have the section which contains the Jumble puzzle. Had to back into mature and scampi but the cartoon answer was straightforward.
Agree about the cartoon answer was a given, but not so for scampi.
Hi all – The answer was obvious from the cartoon. I got MATURE after seeing AUTEUM , TRAUMA and MATER. Saw SCAMPI only after seeing SCAMP. I wasnāt sure it was right, but the letters worked. I thought it might be a proper name, which Iāve heard arenāt usually used. Iāve heard of Shrimp Scampi, but have never had it (or should I say HADDOCK?)
With a FISHY word for the third day in a row, I was expecting to see a Billy Bass mounted on the wall. If David is going to start using similar-themed puzzles in a streak, we may have to start calling him a GROUPER.
Instead of wishing you the usual great day, Iāll just settle for a Good Friday today.
āThe FISHY SCAMPI was looking a bit too MATURE, but after using a fork to FLUFF it up a bit, the restaurant owner served it anyway and his customer proceeded to happily STUFF HIS FACE.ā
…and Happy Passover also!
It sure is a busy Friday, Steve. Youād think there was a full moon or something! š
We were fortunate to have a perfectly clear warm night, so I got to see the full Pink moon from the moment it rose, looking especially beautiful to me with my new factory-refurbished eye lens. Iām giving thanks every time I look around (even if itās just the TV and the Sharks are getting pounded, continuing our fishy theme!)
Agree,I also had to double check that scampi was a real word.
I’m using a very old dictionary and it did not have scampi listed. I am familiar with shrimp scampi and that was the first word I came up with, but my out-of-date dictionary didn’t help me.
Hi Paul. Scampi is one of the new words David promised us he would be adding to the Jumble Database. But it is listed in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, and if you Google Dictionary.com, you can find it there also. And if you’re familiar with it, you know how good it is…I just made it Tuesday night, and now after all this I’m thinking I might have to do it again tonight! Hope your day’s going well. š¤š¤šš»
