Good Morning, Everyone!      🏌FOR PUTTER…OR WORSE 🏌

🎶 Well, you may not believe it, ’cause this is how things are, I started out a bum, I ended up a star…My caddie’s in the shack, my partner’s in the bar…I shot 18 HOLES in ONE UNDER PAR...You play 18 HOLES, what do you get..Another day older and deeper in debt…St. Andrew don’t you call me, ’cause I can’t go…I owe my soul to the country club pro…Yeah 🎶 “18 Holes” – John Denver 1992 https://tinyurl.com/y2bbhfbe

🏌Spring is sprung…golfers regale..It’s time to hear all those tall tales…
The TEDIUM that winter brought, is gone for now, the course is sought.
The POLLEN won’t stand in their way, most of them CARRY a nose spray…
And all those strokes that go untold? Could reach a QUOTA to behold…
The bottom line? Soon “Fore” will sound…
It’s Spring, it’s time…to PUTTER AROUND! 🏌

So, once again today, it’s PAR FOR THE COURSE...Our FOURSOME are all old favorites, with none of them appearing last year at all. But I did PICK UP a little oddity with POLLEN. Back in January 2017, it appeared twice, just 13 days apart, IN PLAY both days as LONELP. As for the others, all three of them have appeared only once before, with TEDIUM being the oldest going back to 2014. And it was Tedium that caused the shaking heads this morning…Definitely not a word you see every day…OK…Let’s SWING over to our cartoon…

Finding ourselves out on a Golf Course this morning, we see a TWOSOME, ACE and BIRDIE, and a third character, MARK R. From the dialogue we learn that our couple has a TEE TIME, but have gotten there early to practice a little and enjoy the view. But Mark R, the more serious Golfer, can be seen with an intent look on his face, and it’s obvious that he’s trying to READ the GREEN. He seems a little PUTT off by our couple’s banter and looks like he’d rather BLOCK people like this, who do nothing more than AGGREGATE a guy like him. FAIR? WAY if you ask me! I mean ACE and BIRDIE wouldn’t PARticularly be IN CONTENTION for the most considerate pair, if PUSH came to shove. And even though we see ACE sinking that PUTT…he and BIRDIE are just there to PUTTER AROUND. Good one, David…we all PUTTER AROUND at one time or another…

Ok, eye candy. Of COURSE we have our GREEN. The CLUBhouse can be seen silhouetted in the background at left, and there’s a darkened area with a hole mapped out where we can see a Flag flying. A similar one is seen at right, IN LINE with Birdies‘ camera. Four cups are shown, with their redtopped sticks. Both men are holding PUTTERS. While ACE, dressed in white shorts with a blue cap to match his shirt takes his SWINGBIRDIE can be seen taking a picture with her phone. Her pink top and matching visor are paired with a black skirt. There are two balls to the side of Ace’s cup, and another two lying by Birdie’s club, which I think to be a HYBRID. And one extra ball is shown besides the one MARK R is about to SINK. His brown hat matches his pants, while his shirt is white. And a DIVOT or two are visible on the GREEN. But unless I’m MISREADing the panel, nothing’s really making the CUT today. So I think I’ll just call it a DRAW…And there you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone…and may the COURSE be with you…🏌🙋🏻

  1. Good Morning, Chuck…I felt choked by Pollen! 😉🙋🏻

° The TEDIUM of having to PUTTER AROUND and keep track of the QUOTA requirements only exacerbated the drowsiness caused by the anti-POLLEN spray that he was forced to CARRY..

° The community had a QUOTA – of trees they’d need to plant,
But landscaping was hard for him unless the POLLEN scant…
The trees he had to CARRY, until he did his share
Were catalogued but TEDIUM was truly hard to bear…
The Maple and the different Pines proved to be worst he found
But a quota is a quota, so he had to PUTTER AROUND

  2. The bees found that to CARRY such a large QUOTA of POLLEN every day was a TEDIUM.

    • Mike, Mike, Mike! Who knew? Where’ve you been hiding this side of you? Bees 🐝🐝of COURSE! I love this! You done good! 👏🏻👏🏻 You know now I’m going to be looking for more of this, right? 😉 Great job, keep ’em comin’! And Good Morning! 🏌🙋🏻

        • HONEY…That’s a matter of opinion! 😂 I’ll stick (no pun intended) with my Nectar in a sweet Ambrosia Cocktail! Kudos again, Mike! Well done! 🐝🐝🙋🏻

  3. Good morning. Three words were a breeze but I had to look for Tedium. I liked my own word but apparently the dictionary didn’t see eye to eye with me. Even though I’m not a fan of golf I was able to sink a hole for the final solution. Another clever finish for the guys. Angela, you do amaze me with the songs you come up with. I never heard it and it was thoroughly enjoyed. You also hit a hole in one with your use of the words. You are the reigning queen of puns. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Sun-Shiny Morning, Brooklyn! So…You gonna leave me hangin’? What was your word? You know you can’t just dangle a carrot like that! 😂 I thought the solve was a gift too, it’s a phrase I’ve always used….I’m glad you enjoyed my song choice. I got a kick out of it myself. The tune was stuck in my head for hours…And, as always, you’re too kind. ❤️ Thanks so much for the Shout Outs…YOU start my day off right! Have a good one, Brooklyn. Enjoy the sunshine! 🌞🙋🏻

  4. Being an avid golfer, I expected to get the solution in a heartbeat. After solving tedium ,carry and quota right off the bat, or golf club, if you prefer, pollen gave me reason to pause. But solving the puzzle with ” putter around”, I was able to work backwards to pollen. As I said yesterday, we’re on a weekend gkid trek so I had to resort to the online Ark Dem version of the puzzle.

    • Good Morning, Professor! When I saw the “Chuck O” show up in my mail, I was like…”What? ANOTHER Chuck…WOOD you believe this”???? But as soon as I read “Avid Golfer”, I knew it was you…And yes, I think I would prefer right off the Golf Club today, it has a nice SWING to it! 😉 Glad you didn’t forgo the puzzle, Prof, and enjoy the Little Ones…🏌🙋🏻

  5. Hi all – I also found the last word the hardest and had to go through NOPELL, then PELLON, then just switched the two vowels for POLLEN. No idea at all for the answer until I wrote the letters and saw PUTTER right away.

    Amazing song choice Angela! John Denver channels his inner Weird Al Yankovic. Since the description says it was never publicly released, where did you ever find this? (You don’t have to answer that if it’s none of my BEESWAX.}

“You load sixteen tons, what do you get?”
“Work your fingers to the bone what do you get? Bony fingers; bony fingers.”

My sentence was much like Mike M’s, but here it is anyway:
“The worker bee hated the TEDIUM of endlessly having to CARRY his QUOTA of POLLEN back to the hive and longed to just PUTTER AROUND.”

    Have a great day, everyone!

    • Hey G…It’s not that it’s none of your beeswax..it’s just that..Well you know the old saying..If I tell you then I’d have to kill you.😷..But I am glad you enjoyed it…😉And another good sentence! 👏🏻👏🏻Kudos! You even squeezed the answer in for extra points! 😉Nice! Very nice! Hope you have a great day too, Steve.🏌🙋🏻

      • Thanks! Took care of a tax appointment, walked to the Farmer’s Market; sunny and warm, but now, a nap. Have a good one. 🙋🏻‍♂️

    • Hi James. You’re very welcome. Always glad to be of help. Hope you’re enjoying your day! 🏌🙋🏻
