WEAR   DUT   TON   OGN  = GET AROUND TOWN

Good Morning, Everyone!            ⭕️ FROM SPHERE TO ETERNITY…⭕️

🎶 ROUND ROUND get AROUND, I get AROUND, yeah
(Get AROUND ROUND ROUND I get AROUND, ooh-ooh) I get AROUND…From TOWN to TOWN (get AROUND ROUND ROUND I get AROUND)…I’m a real cool head (get AROUND ROUND ROUND, I get AROUND)I’m makin’ real good bread (get AROUND ROUND ROUND I get AROUND)…🎶 “I Get Around” – The Beach Boys 1964 https://tinyurl.com/y2x6kwf6

⭕️ Are Circles based on Legos? If so…they’re sure to be…
A hit no DOUBT and nothing less, and that’s a guarantee.
Whoever thought of toys like this, a TYCOON now for sure,
I know because they’re all over, ‘hind each and every door.
Many a night so WEARY, I’ve walked ’round in the dark,
And “found” one unexpectedly…the language rather stark…
The one-leg hop in motion, seeking OXYGEN for breath,
And all the while I’m thinking…”These toys will be my death”!
But just like many others, we yell, we hop, we frown…
Because we’ll all be buying more soon as we GET AROUND TOWN! ⭕️

Except for OXYGEN, which has appeared only once before in 2017, our other words have been AROUND for quite a while. TYCOON goes back to 2015, while DOUBT, making its 11th appearance, has RUN from 2014 thru June 2nd, 2018, making it our newest entry. And WEARY, going as far back as April 2014, comes in as not only our oldest entry, but also the only one of words today that shows up as a repeated anagram. But the good MONEY today is on TYCOON…It had a few of the Early Bird Boys going in CIRCLES….

Today’s puzzle takes a bit of a different ANGLE…Brought to a fictitious community which I’ve dubbed SPHERE, we’re introduced to a group of citizens named the CIRCLES. How long they’ve been in existence is unknown, but from all reports, they seem to be a well-ROUNDed group. The dialogue of our two main characters CENTERs AROUND them boarding the approaching bus. And with Public Transportation being our topic, we’re asked why the CIRCLES needed to build one. Which brings us to our solution, an almost RADIIculously easy one…They built it to…GET AROUND TOWN. Good one, David. ON TRACK as always…

Ok, eye candy. My first thought was how ironic, that while looking to find eye candy, I see that our two main characters look so much like M&Ms. A nice trEAT. I’ve dubbed the smaller one, who’s yellow, Archie, ARC for short. He sports a goatee. The larger one, ELLIPSE, who goes by Eli, is green and is seen carrying a briefcase. A ROUND briefcase. I think he’s a Professor, well known for grading on the CURVE. The back of our panel shows 3 purple homes, which may be Condos. Besides them, stands what appears to be a taupe apartment building. And behind Eli and Arc is a purple building which may be a restaurant. But there’s something drawn that I can’t wrap my head AROUND. Farthest back in the panel is a Bullseye-looking image, which I can’t identify. If anyone can get a BEAD on it, I welcome your suggestions. The approaching CIRCLE LINE bus is blue, and inside we see an operator wearing a peaked cap, and a passenger wearing ear buds. There’s a manhole cover in the bus’s path. But I’m going to go with the bus stop sign atop the pole next to Eli. It shows arrowed directions for a ROUNDABOUT! Toto, I think we’re in Indiana! So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone! And remember…In life there’s nothing to SPHERE but SPHERE itself! ⭕️🙋🏻 🎶-“The Circle of Life” – Carmen Twillie and Lebo M. 1994 http://tinyurl.com/y7p4qdvd

  1. Two songs come to mind:

I get around – Beach Boys
You got me going in circles – Friends of Distinction and later covered by Luther Vandros

Walking to work made the circles weary
And on cold days they got really teary
No more of this said the circle tycoon
My money’s going to fund the next big boon
The technicians worked both women and men
So the circle employees could save their oxygen
Now getting around town is a mere snap
And on the way each rider would nap

    • Well, excuse me! Where’d that come from? 😉👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Bravo! Bravo! Excellent entry! …Good Morning Jim! You won’t believe this..but….My 2nd choice was “Going in Circles”! In fact it’s still in my head…but I succumbed to the Beach Boys…more upbeat….Again, love love love the poem! Hope your morning’s going well! ⭕️🙋🏻

      • A good day indeed. Suffice it to say with the serendipity we share around musical eras we could be age friendly. Too funny you considered Going in Circles. Roads are clear and dry from recent storms – heading out soon to enjoy sunshine and fresh air

        • Ships passing in the night! Yes, it looks to be a very good day. And here’s to the Serendipity! 🍷As for the sun, I’m enjoying it while it’s here, because we have more inclement weather on tap…But it paves the way to Spring. Glorious Spring…which here in NY, we haven’t seen in years…We’ve been going from winter into summer…How I miss a real Spring…Maybe this year..Fingers crossed. Enjoy your weather, Jim..I envy you living on the Cape…🌞🙋🏻

  2. At Angela – submitted my humble rhyme prior to reading your take on the day. Hah – great minds think alike when citing The Beach Boys led by the great Brian Wilson. Your poem as always was brilliant. Weighing in from time to time makes me think of the kindred relationships I’ve developed among your faithful and won’t be surprised if I meet you all when I complete my circle of life. Have a great Saturday – Sunny and crisp on Cape Cod…

    • Get out! Really? And here I thought you, were reacting to my choice! Too funny. And what about him, Brian, looking so young. Strapping and healthy. Made me a little sad. Anyway, I’ll step away from the great mind…In my case, not yours. I go with mediocre! Thank you so much for the Shout Out Jim, you’re very kind. 😘 But this completing the circle of life? I’ll have none of that on my watch! There’s enough to hear on the news…I don’t want to deal with the thought here…This is the Happy Place! 😉 Unbelievably sunny here too…and cold. But it’s invigorating…and I can’t wait for earlier sunrises and later sunsets…..🌞🙋🏻

      • Miles to go before I sleep…just a metaphor for the distant future…lots of
        life left in this codger…

        • Ah, Robert Frost. Did you notice that I used the line in my post the other day? Thursday I believe…More Serendipity! 😉 And thanks for the clarification…Id like to think we’re all here for the long haul! 😉🙋🏻

  3. Good Sunshiny Morning, Chuck…I got AROUND to doing these….

° She felt so blue and WEARY, exhaustion coming down,
So hard to breathe, some OXYGEN maybe she should have found.
Her mind so full of DOUBT and grief, she’d need some relief soon…
If only she’d took Mom’s advice…and married that TYCOON!

° The TYCOON, without a DOUBT the most generous of men, offered to donate all new OXYGEN tanks to the local Firemen, and as WEARY as they all were, once the word began to GET AROUND TOWN, they held an impromptu celebration to thank him…

  4. For an early Sat morning,no less, all the anagrams were a snap, even tycoon. With all the letters for the final solution,I thought it might be more of a problem ,but once get around popped into mind, the solution was complete.

    • Good Morning, Professor! I agree..hence my calling it an almost RADIIculously easy solution! 😉 Cute and clever! Hoping you have a great day, Prof. ⭕️🙋🏻

  5. Tycoon was also my hardest word. It didn’t come to me until I took my dog outside for a walk, as often happens. I wondered about its origin, as it doesn’t seem like a typical Latin-based word. I looked it up in the dictionary and found that it came from the Japanese word, taikun.
Great choice on the song, Angela. The Sinatra song, Cycles, crossed my mind, but “I Get Around”
is almost the exact phrase. I noticed how trim Brian was in that video, as opposed to later years.

    • Hi Mike. Good Morning. Yea, Brian. Before the drugs consumed his entire being, Sad. My friends saw Cotton, and that’s why I deemed it the stumper, before any votes came in on the poll. So I guess that’s the one for today. Nice research on it, I had no idea So, Cycles. I haven’t listened to that song in quite a while. Maybe I’ll pull it out later. But yea, the lyrics with the Beach Boys were too good to pass up. And Thanks for the Shout Out, Mike. 😘 So what’s the deal with your dog? You got him doing the Jumble too? Does he find it a walk in the BARK? 😉🐶🙋🏻

  6. Angela:
A lot of times, I’m trying hard to think of an answer to something. Then I leave it alone and go do something else, and suddenly the answer pops into my head out of nowhere. It’s as if I have a little librarian deep in my subconscious that continues researching and then sends up the answer. My dog really has nothing to do with it. If she found out this was going on, she would ask for royalties! 🐱‍👤

    • ROTFL! As well she should! You know I was just breaking your shoes about the dog…I really didn’t think she was the dog whisperer.😉 But I do like the idea of the little librarian in your head. I too have a little COMMUNITY living up there. At first I thought it was my conscience, but I get such mixed messages that I now think it’s just a rag-tag group of Idiom Savants like myself…And I’ve made peace with the lot of them..A lot cheaper than therapy! 😂😂😂 🗣🙋🏻

    • …And DOUGHn’t you know it, I think you’re right! Good Morning, Clay. I was hoping you’d come AROUND this morning with the answer. And I’m now looking at it with a HOLE new perspective! Good call, Eagle Eye….of course it’s a Donut sign! How’d EYE miss that? And while I’m here, I notice that I didn’t GET AROUND to mentioning that Eli Green, (no relation to Mean Joe), is consulting his watch while saying “Right on time”. An “O” versight! 😂 Thank you, Clay..you always come through in the clutch! ⭕️🙋🏻

  7. Hi Angela and Everyone –
Except for backing into TYCOON, an easy day.
Two songs I like very much – “The Circle Game” by Joni Mitchell and “All My Life’s a Circle” by Harry Chapin.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. It’s like a TYCOON Typhoon! Great anagram…But, uh oh…I can hear Steve wailing and gnashing his teeth from here! The Joni Mitchell? He’s probably copied and pasted half the lyrics by now! 😉 You’ve most likely sent him back to the drawing board! 😂I hope he takes a deep breath! You know, there’s quite a few songs that have CIRCLE either in their titles or their lyrics. There’s a beautiful song by Harry Belafonte https://tinyurl.com/y3jboalp called 🎶Circle Game🎶 that I love. But I was going for a song that closest matched the puzzles’ solution, and you couldn’t get any closer than the Beach Boys. But I always liked your Chapin song too…https://tinyurl.com/yyyzlt38 I hope you enjoy it! Have a great day, Caroline! ⭕️🙋🏻

  8. After again hearing the rants of the TYCOON about the low levels of OXYGEN within the city, the members of council were becoming very WEARY and began to DOUBT his beliefs more and more.

    • Brilliant, Chuck! 👏🏻👏🏻 Good Morning! I think I’ve begun a Creative Writing class here, haven’t i? You guys are just pulling out the big guns! Great sentence, Chuck! Great imagination! 🌟🌟🌟 Hope your day’s going well! ⭕️🙋🏻

      • You, indeed, have created something special, Angela! It really taxes my mind- which is a good thing. Keep up the good work..

        • Thank you, Chuck. Who knew? I don’t even remember trying! 😂😂 But you guys are really upping your games. It’s so enjoyable to see how many different slants are taken. And as far as taxing your mind? A good thing indeed! It’s so easy today to become mentally stagnant, especially in light of everything that goes on AROUND us. So any exercise we can give our minds? We’d be fools not to take advantage of! Keep ’em coming, Chuck! ⭕️🙋🏻

  9. Good morning. Thought it was a great jumble today. I was stuck on the last two words and jumped to the cartoon. It was a blind solve and checking the six letters I needed to make the answer happen,I knew I had to have GONTON. It still took me some time to get those two words. Darn proud that I didn’t give up. Angela, terrific job as always. Your use of the words topped off with the two songs were enjoyable. Years ago I saw the play with my wife and loved every minute. My oldest one who was trying to become a successful actor got us into plays and it opened up a whole new form of entertainment. It is an expensive form of entertainment but the actors deserve whatever they get. There is a lot of hard work that goes into the production. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • You’re right on the money, Brooklyn. It is a great Jumble today! Good Morning, Paul. And I’m proud of you for not throwing in the towel! You done good! Thanks so much for the Shout Outs, you’re always such a Sweetheart! 😘 The Lion King? Fantastic theater! I was mesmerized..the costumes? We’d never seen anything so creative, right? I was in awe! And you’re right, it’s too bad that it is such an expensive undertaking. So many don’t get to appreciate Broadway because of it. But I DOUBT it’s just the salaries that cause it. There’s just a lot of greed out there…Anyway, happy to give you a sweet memory. Have a great day, Brooklyn! You always manage to make mine a better one! ⭕️🙋🏻

  10. Good morning again. The TYCOON had no DOUBT that his newly invented OXYGEN tank would revive the WEARY miners trapped in the tunnel.

    • I don’t know, Paul. You’ve mentioned many a time how you had trouble writing while in school…and yet here you are, pulling out all the stops! Bravo, Brooklyn! 👏🏻👏🏻 This is great! 🌟🌟🌟 Great take on the trapped miners, I love it! You’re getting wayyyy too good at this!, Bud 😂 Again, you make my day! Ciao, Bello! ⭕️🙋🏻

  11. Hi all – Only TYCOON took a couple of jumbles. Funny that WEARY was the oldest word. I thought it looked very familiar, but maybe that was your quoting Otis Redding, Angela.

The irony here is that the circles are catching the bus in the town square to go get a square meal. (Old Alpo commercial – “How do they get a SQUARE MEAL in a ROUND CAN?”)

I thought the round building looked like the Marina towers in Chicago and therefore that the bulls-eye was a ferris wheel, but the solid look also makes me think it’s a donut shop. 🎵”I am a waitress in a donut shop…I give him the time; he gives me his dime”🎵

No, Caroline is quite welcome to The Circle Game. The two songs I thought of were “Roundabout” by Yes, and Perry Como’s “Find a wheel, and it goes round, round, round.”

Have a great day, everyone. I have to run and drop off documents with our tax guy.

    • Hey Steve. WEARY was last used on April 16th of last year. So maybe you’ve seen it more recently on the APP. I’m always thinking a word is so familiar, and then the Archives prove me wrong. G, you know I was just breaking ’em by mentioning Joni, right? I know she’s your girl, so I figured I’d just tease you a little. But Caroline didn’t mention 🎶The Circle Game🎶, that was me. The Belafonte song. Take a listen if you get a chance, it’s a pretty tune. And yea, I think Clay nailed it. Besides, with the ROUNDABOUT sign? That’s got to be Jeff giving a Shout Out to his fellow Hoosiers. Carmel in particular, a neighboring city to his Fishers. Carmel’s filthy with Roundabouts. 😂 Nice take on your music choices…👏🏻👏🏻 There’s so many songs out there…Have a good one, Steve! See ya’ AROUND! 😉⭕️🙋🏻

  12. Lest we forget, make sure to get up at 2 am tomorrow and set your clocks ahead one hour!!!
