SUMSIE – MISUSE

KETWAH – WEALTH

CARTOON ANSWER:   THE DEER GAVE BIRTH AND KNEW WHAT TO DO THANKS TO HER – – –

AOR   TRN   MUE   ETH =   MOTHER NATURE

Good Morning, Everyone!                       🌿 OH, DEER! 🌿

🎶 The stars come out, lighting a deep blue sky…When MOTHER NATURE sings her lullaby…The moon bends low, kissing each rose goodnight…When MOTHER NATURE sings her lullaby…🎶 “When Mother Nature Sings Her Lullaby” – Bing Crosby 1939     https://tinyurl.com/y8359vva

🐿 It’s said that Mothers always know the how, the what, the where…
And it would stand to reason that the same applies to Deers,
A WEALTH of care and concern and nothing to MISUSE,
A Mother Deer gives birth and then protects from all abuse…
We see her by this tree TRUNK with FAVOR towards her fawn,
With Father and son watching the two Deer upon the lawn…
The scene just so bucolic, the perfect portraiture,
We’re seeing what comes naturally, and it’s MOTHER NATURE 🐿

After having both 6-letter words being new yesterday, today all 4 of our words are Sweet Repeats. FAVOR is our oldest, having last been seen on December 28th, ’17, while MISUSE last appeared on October 21st, ’18. And it was the only one of the 4 that caused a pause…Surmise was surmised…

Finding ourselves outdoors this morning gave me a bit of a chuckle, considering the cold gripping most of the country, and the fact that it’s Groundhog Day. But it’s a welcome respite. We see a 🎶Doe, a Deer a female Deer…🎶, having just given BIRTH and she’s understandably FAWNing over her child. And according to NATURE’S schedule, the month must be May or June. Seeing the pair of DEER looking so happy together, and overhearing the dialogue between the Father and the Son whom are watching from the winDOE, …”She just DOEs”…our question is easily answered…We see that Animal Instincts kicked in and the DEER was in the clear, because of her MOTHER NATURE! Good one, David…we all FAWN over you…

Ok, eye candy…It’s an aDOEable image, but FOREST I can tell, there’s nothing really LEAPING off the page. I’m FAWNed of the whole cartoon, but I really have no iDEER what would constitute candy. There’s not much DEER that’s hidden. The Father and Son looking on from behind a Blue-shaded window pane, Green grass, carpeting the panel…A Brown Squirrel on the tree, a Gray Rabbit, with a WHITE TAIL…just NATURal woodland creatures...So, I’ll just pass the BUCK today, and not upset the NATURE of things…Well, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone. And I’ll leave you with a classic movie line…”Frankly my DEER, I don’t give a damn”…That Rhett sure gave Scarlet a good dose of her own VENISON! 🐿🙋🏻

  1. Nice to reconnect and have time to synchronize on today’s puzzle. Not much time lately to connect with Mother Nature other than to have a very large hawk land on our backyard swing. Have a good one and here’s to you for making the time to brighten each day by bringing jumble to life.

    • Good Morning, Jim. And thank you very much for your kind words. With such winter upon us, it is a little hard to think of communing with Nature, so I agree, it’s a welcomed puzzle.. Out here by me, our encounters have been one too many of the literal deer caught in the headlights…Over population of deer, and they’re constantly coming out onto the roads…Scary and dangerous…But on a lighter note, neither of the Groundhogs saw their shaDOES this morning…So, if legend holds true? Spring should be right around the corner! We can only hope! Here’s to you, Jim 🍷for stopping by..and I wish you a good one too! 🐿🙋🏻

  2. Another cooked Jumble. MOTHER NATURE and MATURE THRONE are both plausible solutions. She is a MOTHER in NATURE but she is also sitting on her THRONE, and it is MATURE since she knows what to do with her fawn. Furthermore, the fourth word can be WEALTH but it also can be WHALET, which contributes the same three letters to the big solution. A WHALET is a baby whale.

    • Ah, Jim. I’m starting to develop a complex. Exactly what kind? Still open for discussion…But I do think you enjoy ruffling my feathers…Why do you do 🎶what you do to me 🎶..? Plausible? Possible, 😉 But soooo not probable… We know the Jumble is based on idioms, catch phrases, puns, innuendo…When was the last time you uttered ..”Mature Throne”? And not to yourself? I know for me,…personally? Got to be at least 10, maybe 20 years, easy…And furthermore…Whalet? Weally? I just don’t know. All I can say is, once again…DOEn’t shoot the messenger. (This keeps up, I may consider shooting myself)!
Have a good one, Jim! As always, with love…🙋🏻

  3. Good morning. Agree with Angela that Misuse was the hardest of the four words. Just a tad more time to come up with it. The cartoon answer was another cleaver finish. Thanks Angela on your input. Another first on your song choice. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn! Yes, a great anagram on MISUSE. And as always, you’re very welcome. 😘 As for the song choice? Thanks for the Shout Out. I definitely reached way back…A little campy, but it just seemed to fit so well. And if you recall, I’m not a Crosby fan…Just going with the DOE..I mean flow! Wishing you a great day, Brooklyn! Stay warm! 🙋🏻

  4. No problem not even with misuse and the final solution went as quickly.Temp reached above freezing,so off we went to Dixon ,first time since Xmas to see our 4 yr old gkids Kate and Jane. Then this afternoon to Naperville to see Marla,6, and Alice,4.

    • 🎶On the road again…just can’t wait to get on the road again…🎶 This should definitely be your theme song, Prof! You’re one travellin’ man! Good job on the puzzle, and enjoy the kids! Have a good one! 🚙🙋🏻

  5. Misuse took me the longest to solve but the other words and cartoon answer were easy. Hope Mother Nature gives you folks in the Midwest and East a break from all the cold weather. Have a good Saturday everyone.

    • Good Morning, Betty! Thank you. It’s still cold, but it’s definitely getting better. And I love your Mother Nature reference! 👏🏻👏🏻 Wishing you a good Saturday too! 🙋🏻

  6. Chuck B…A little redundant, but I can’t think of another angle…

° Being found guilty of the MISUSE of funds, he fell out of FAVOR with the board, and all that remained of his WEALTH wouldn’t even fill a TRUNK now as a result….

° Thinking he was doing his friends a FAVOR by letting them stash their “acquired” WEALTH in his TRUNK, he was shocked when he, in turn, was accused of MISUSE of the company’s valuables…

    • A little more redundancy, Angela. As a FAVOR to her late husband, the widow stored away many of his WEALTH holdings in a hidden TRUNK to prevent possible MISUSE by future heirs. I like your duo better! Happy Sunday.

      • Hi Chuck. And I like yours…👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. I guess there’s not much wiggle room with these particlular words…🙋🏻

  7. Hi all – Awww, how cute is that? The double letter trick didn’t work, but a second look showed the MIS prefix for MISUSE. Then put the TH together, but needed a second look to see that it went at the end of WEALTH.
Didn’t know what they were getting at for the answer – thought something like FAWNING over something. Wrote the letters and saw MOTHER and got it.

Yes Angela, that little family 🎵”ain’t got the Doe-Re-Mi”🎵, but fortunately it’s so WOODY and protected out there that they don’t need it:

🎵”Green trees grow on a mountain top
birds still sing when the morning comes
and though I treat her carelessly
Mother Earth still cares for me.
Mother Earth lives on the ocean
Mother Earth sails on the sea
I am blessed with her devotion
    Mother Earth provides for me”🎵

Have a great Saturday, everyone. We were predicted a strong windstorm overnight with heavy rain, but it turned out weaker than expected, so we weren’t affected much at all.

    • Glad to hear you were SPAREd, G…Oh wait..That was y’day! That’s me..always a day late and a DOEllar shiort! ..And is this our first Guthrie reference? I think it is…Wishing you a great Saturday too, Steve! 🙋🏻

  8. Can anybody in this forum help me out as to the best place to find the Sunday jumble puzzle? I used to use PostStar but they haven’t updated since January 11. I’ve googled the heck out of it with no luck. Help. I miss my Sunday fix.

    • Good Morning, Scotty. Yes, we’ve lost the Post Star, they’ve stopped the on-line printing. We’ve started using the Orlando Sentinel, which prints a great cartoon panel with all the details visible, but they haven’t updated today. Try this link, it’s an interactive one, and works well. If I’m not mistaken, it may show you 2 words at a time, while accumulating the letters needed for the solution. Good Luck, and let me know if it worked for you. 🙋🏻
