Happy Monday, Jumble players! Today’s puzzle was barely a challenge, but it did offer up a brand new clue word in COFFEE. I could have sworn that we’ve seen it before but maybe it’s just one of those words that’s common enough to look like it’s been used in the past. WLATLE was the only anagram that wasn’t immediately visible which made it my pick for the most difficult anagram of the day. If you’re a regular player of the game you probably remember that we saw it just over two weeks ago where it was scrambled as WELTLA on 1/13/19. Our oldest word ended up being LATCH and was last in gameplay on 4/25/18 where it was jumbled as CALTH.
The setting for today’s cartoon is a beautiful outdoor scene featuring a Jeep parked somewhere on an off-road trail. The driver is nowhere to be found so we can only assume that he or she is off exploring the great outdoors on this sunshine filled day. In his or her absence, we see a conversation occurring between the tires on the vehicle with one of them feeling left out.
The Jeep that we see in the panel took up the majority of the space in the frame leaving little room for extra details. Jeff managed to squeeze in a couple of hills in the background that are lined with 12 trees. There are also tufts of grass or bits of bushes visible along with two clouds in the sky. Turning my attention to the vehicle, there was something written in the center of the steering wheel that caught my eye. It appears to read “900” which made me think that it’s the model series of the Jeep. Upon closer inspection, it looks like it might also read “Jeff” in cursive but I’m not really sure.
The final solution was an anagram consisting of 10-letters. The layout was cryptic, but the conversation between the tires made this one an instant solve. Have a magnificent Monday and I’ll see you right back here tomorrow for more Jumble fun!
Good Morning, Mike. Here’s to a great day! 🙋🏻
Enjoy! ☀️👋🏻
🎶 There’s a place I know about where the dirt road runs out…
And we can try out the four-wheel DRIVE…Come on now what do you say..Girl, I can hardly wait to get a little mud on the TIRES…🎶 “Mud on the Tires” – Brad Paisley 2004 https://tinyurl.com/yanjvds5
5️⃣ I always felt the phrase to be off-putting at its best,
Many a time an extra friend would join us on request…
Perhaps a cup of COFFEE, a show, or we would dine,
And we’d say “Stash your WALLET, it’s on us, and you’ll be fine”
A meaning of intrusion with the phrase somehow did LATCH,
Causing a HAIRY feeling, and the friend feeling detached…
It shouldn’t be ’cause nothing’s wrong with three or five or two,
One shouldn’t need a partner to feel welcome in a crew…
So go along and have the fun…and never should you feel,
You don’t belong…it’s just a phrase…no shame in a FIFTH WHEEL.5️⃣
I laughed as soon as I TREAD Jeff’s name on the steering wheel cover…Maybe I’ll RIDE him about it…Have an EXTRA special day, Everyone! …With fun to SPARE 5️⃣🙋🏻
Perfect song choice Angela. That happens to be one of my Son-In-Laws favorite country singers.
Good Afternoon, Brooklyn. Thank you….I’m with your son-in-law…I’ve had a serious crush on Brad Paisley for years…Have a good one! 🙋🏻
Good morning. Today I felt like we were in kindergarten. I’m actually insulted that the creators think we are so mentally challenged that we have pre-K work. I know Monday’s are mostly easier for us, but this was ridiculous. The whole thing was done in a minute. From instant reads on the words to the Without a doubt answer for the cartoon. Which by the way was very cute. Now that I got rid of all that hostility, how you people doing? Thanks Mike as always. Angela, I will play the song after this. Your poem and use of the words were enjoyable. Until tomorrow stay well.
It wheel-y bothered you that much, Paul? LOL!!! 😂
Have a great start to the week, my friend.
Thanks for the Shout Out, Brooklyn! 💕🙋🏻
Sorry, Paul. I guess you’re too smart for the Jumble. I hear Sudoku is challenging.
Hi all – Just a quick post before I take my car for its yearly oil change (synthetic oil and a retired driver do wonders to reduce the frequency of service needed.)
And – speaking of re-TIRED now that I’ve looked at the cartoon 😂 – that was sure a quick one on a Monday morning. I only had to give a second look to WALLET after first seeing WATTLE.
Mike, I actually don’t remember seeing WALLET recently. At this rate, I’ll soon just be able to do the same puzzle every day and it will seem fresh everytime!
Angela, love the inclusive sentiment of your post since many of my best memories are of groups of friends having a good time.
And speaking of groups of friends, have a great day, everyone. Special thoughts to those of you digging out from overnight snow (7 inches at O’Hare – yikes!) and facing dangerous wind chills.
Sounds like your morning will be exhausting! 😂😂😂
Have a good one, Steve!
It was TIRE-ing! But I didn’t need any NAP-a Auto Parts! 😂🙋🏻♂️
…And I’m sure you took it grEASY while they worked on it…🔧🚙🙋🏻

Wallet didn’t give me any trouble but coffee did as I was trying to make it into office.Agree the final solution was a quick if not a blind solve.Temp in WCentral Illinois was 37 degrees at 7 AM but has quickly dropped to 26 on the way to zero or below.
Stay warm, Chuck! The weatherman says it’ll make its way here on Wednesday. Not looking forward to it at all… 🥶
Easy breezy puzzle this morning. Wallet did take me the longest to solve but not really problematic. Have a good day everyone and keep warm.
Have a great week, Betty! 🙂🙂🙂
Hi Everyone – A true Monday puzzle with some words I can relate to. Last year I got a flat and found out that I had no spare tire, which apparently is true for a lot of newer cars. And just this week I came upon a broken door latch. Thanks, Steve and Betty, for thinking of us in the cold and snow.
Indeed I had a 2013 Cadillac CTS that had ” run flat ” tires,no spare tire, and not even a tire inflate can.
The HAIRY beast at the zoo tried to LATCH onto my WALLET and knocked the COFFEE mug out of my hand at the same time.
Which is why they suggest staying OUT of the enclosures…😉 Kudos, 👏🏻👏🏻 Chuck! 🙋🏻
