Good Morning, Everyone!            πŸ›‹  COVER YOUR “I’s”… πŸ›‹

🎢 Some boys kiss me, some boys hug me…I think they’re ok, If they don’t give me proper credit…I just walk away…’Cause we are living in a MATERIAL world…And I am a MATERIAL girl. You know that we are living in a MATERIAL world…And I am a MATERIAL girl…🎢 “Material Girl” – Madonna 1984 https://tinyurl.com/yafu7faa

πŸ›‹ With the object of a sofa being comfort besides looks,
This woman saying you can’t touch is one set for the books…
Why cover it so lavishly and want people to see,
It’s covered TWICE..but still off limits to both you and me?
The guy looks Heavy METAL, a beard and pony tail…
The woman looking kind of odd…a hairdo that’s a fail.
Ceramic dog looks poised to run, a GARLIC colored hue,
Supposedly a racing type, thin…CRISIS-like milieu.
So wrapped up in themselves they are, I can’t get their logistics…
It simply shows the fabric of this couple? MATERIALISTIC! πŸ›‹

Searching through the archives this morning, I was surprised to see that CRISIS wasn’t listed. Again, it’s one of those words that seem so familiar that I thought for sure we had seen it before. Our three other words are all Sweet Repeats, numerous times over. GARLIC comes in as our most oft repeated word, with today marking its 6th appearance, and it’s also our most recently used entry, last seen on January 28th, ’18. As for degree of difficulty, CRISIS leads the pack, with GARLIC giving it a run for its MONEY

Our cartoon today places us in a living room where we see a man and a woman and a garishly colored purple couch….She has rings on the fingers of both hands, and is wearing what looks like an Apple Watch. He sports one also, on his left wrist, while what appears to be a Fitbit is worn on his right. A picture of them, fancily dressed  and posing besides a sports car hangs on the wall, while below it a modern-art statue of a white dog is shown. The dialogue centers on how the couch, the center of attraction, newly covered in what we’re told is a very expensive MATERIAL, is to be SEEN..but not HERD…it’s not for the crowd that’s coming to the party they’re planning…It’s just for show….This couple is just plain old…MATERIALISTIC

SOFA …so good…

Please check back, in a few hours when I’ll be able to COVER the cartoon in better detail. In the meantime…Have a great day, Everyone! …πŸ›‹πŸ™‹πŸ»

  1. Good morning. Had all the words fairly quick but before going to the cartoon I double check the spelling and it was then that I realized there was no Malet. That word has two Ls. Never even thought it was Metal. Once I corrected the error and put all the letters down for the final solution, it took less than a minute to get. The answer was staring you in the face. Very cleaver, very cute. Angela, you gave me a hearty laugh with your song choice. Don’t think you could get a better choice. Really loved it. Thanks overall. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Hey Brooklyn, Good Morning! LOL..Yea, Madonna certainly fits the BILL! Thanks for the Shout Out, and I hoped you caught my poem…I forgot to include it when I posted. I have my add-on almost complete, I’m just waiting to see if there’s a little detail that I think might be in the cartoon. It’s a drag without the usual 3AM publication that I’m used to scouring…Be sure to check back in, I’m hoping to give you another chuckle or two…Ok..that about COVERS it for now…Enjoy! πŸ›‹πŸ™‹πŸ»

    • Good Morning, Professor! You too? MALLET? Hmm..Does it look like this is the word to BEAT today? Remains to be SEEN! And yes, I agree with you and Paul, it was an easy solve. Wishing you a great day, Prof. And don’t forget, check back in to see if there’s any hidden gems…πŸ›‹πŸ™‹πŸ»

  2. I’m pretty sure that as soon as I finish this, the on-line puzzle will be available, but I’ve too much to do, so I’ll have to get back to you all. Before I get into the cartoon though, I was thinking I should have named our couple. I was thinking FERN ATURE for her, but I couldn’t get COMFORTABLE with a name for him. Maybe SETH TEE? I mean she could have kept her maiden name, right? Anyway, just a thought. Ok, I’m hoping I didnt miss much without the benefit of the on-line puzzle. I inadvertently left the poem out of my post, which described the look of our man. Why I SAT ON IT, and didn’t include it, IDK. I did type it up SEPARATEly, but still, I usually CONVERT my SECTIONS into one, but at least that’s COVERED. And I didn’t point out the matching purple throw rug, and the window COVERing, but they’re obviously visible. The picture on the wall, being black and white is a little more difficult though, since even though I enlarged it from my papers’ on-line panel, it still looked so grainy. And it made it appear that the car had some sort of print on it…This is what Mike and I are so upset about. The on-line version that we usually use to look for details, eliminates the graininess, and just as importantly, doesn’t lend itself to distortion when we enlarge it. I’m sure those of you who utilize it yourselves know of which I speak…This new SITuation, where they’re printing hours later than the usual 3AM, is just so off the MONEY…Anyway, I waited, because I thought for sure that the car would have a license plate reading Jumble…So, as soon as it’s up, I’ll be back, and we’ll see. Ciao….for now! πŸ›‹πŸ™‹πŸ»

  3. Hi Everyone –
CRISIS also caused me the most trouble. I was thinking iastic for the end of the one-word answer, which was close enough to lead me to the solution. I agree with Paul – really good one today.

    • Hi Caroline. Good Afternoon. A good number of my friends this morning first saw Circus…And yes, definitely a great puzzle today. Have a good one! πŸ›‹πŸ™‹πŸ»

  4. Hi all – I know a CA GIRL or two (even a HOT TAMLE), but that only distracted me from GARLIC for a second. CRISIS took three tries after putting IC at the end as always, and then getting past CIRCUS.
The answer got me though. I came up with 2 (lucky) 13-letter words that fit the space, but not the letters or the sense of the answer – reupholstered and Antimacassars. Nothing with SEAT or MATES or β€œupper-class twits” made sense. I was just about to give up (just now!) but took one last look and saw it.

Angela, I think the guy’s name is OTTO MANN.
    Have a great day all!

πŸŽ΅β€While I’m living in the material world
Not much ‘giving’ in the material world
Got a lot of work to do
Try to get a message through
And get back out of this material worldβ€πŸŽ΅(George Harrison)

    πŸŽ΅β€Where does the answer lie?
    Living from day to day
If it’s something we can’t buy
    There must be another way
We are spirits in the material world
Are spirits in the material worldβ€πŸŽ΅(The Police)

    • Hey Steve…I like OTTO MANN! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» Kudos! One of my young nephews, who’s home sick today said that he has a kid in his class named Porter, I waited…”Porter Potty”. He seemed so proud of himself that I didn’t have the heart to tell him that we’re looking for INDOOR furniture. Maybe later. But I did ask him if he ever called the kid that, and he said not him, but some other kids have…Kids can be so mean at times…. Anyway…Hope you’re having a good one, G! πŸ›‹πŸ™‹πŸ»

  5. FYI UPDATE – Nope, no Jumble, on the license plate, not even a “J”. As for the picture, the only thing worth mentioning is that ironically, the woman’s giving us a Madonna pose!…Vogue! And she’s wearing a gold bracelet, not a watch. So, There you have it Folks, Done! πŸ›‹πŸ™‹πŸ»

  6. TWICE in the last month the chef thought he had a CRISIS on his hands when a METAL pot in which he was cooking GARLIC exploded and set off the fire alarm.

    • Hi Chuck. Good Afternoon….πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»!! Well done, very well done. It may very well be your best one yet. Kudos! Hope you’re enjoying your day! πŸ›‹πŸ™‹πŸ»

    • You’re welcome, Chuck. Well deserved. And Tks…I hope so too! πŸ˜‰πŸ™‹πŸ»
