But dissension grew amongst them…1970 closed the door,
And the Beatles went their separate ways, for they were now DONE “FOUR”…📀
🎶Because🎶 I’ve already taken up a lot of space here, I’m going to try to be as brief as possible with the rest of this post. But two things: 1- This is an exceptionally amazing cartoon, and deserves its due, and 2- Well, it’s me…And I’ll be the first to admit that brevity was never my strong suit. Regardless, I’m going on RECORD to say I’m going to try…
None of today’s words are new. DECAY, easily solved, appears for the 10th time, and surprisingly was anagrammed differently each time. Today’s OPPOSE, again an easy, breezy word, makes appearance #9, and it too has been unique each time, and also comes in as our most recent word at July 22nd, ’18. Quickly going over the other two, according to the Early Birds: FLIRT, not so quick, URCHIN…a few STRAY guesses…
And now, our CARTOON…Which today rates all CAPITAL letters…We see 🎶A Day In The Life🎶 of the BEATLES, https://tinyurl.com/ydfo39mh, in order, top left going clockwise: the late John Lennon, (1980), Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Ringo Starr, and the late George Harrison (2001). The year, presumably 1970. Having decided to disBAND, we hear each of them lamenting the BREAK UP. What’s amazing here, is that the dialogue is entirely COMPOSED of the TITLE of each of FOUR SONGS that were recorded by each of them after the demise. And 🎶I Want to Tell You🎶, that if this isn’t creative, I don’t know what is….You could 🎶Twist and Shout🎶 any way you choose, but it’s not going to 🎶Please, Please Me🎶any better than this! And where I usually give a Tip of the Cap to the Graphic Artist, Jeff Knurek, here today, I’m standing cap in hand. So, in answer to our question…With the BREAK UP, The BEATLES were …DONE “FOUR“. It’s a really good one, David…but today? The 🎶Love Me Do🎶 goes to Jeff!
Eye candy? For a moment, I thought the panel itself was enough. Except for the Recording Reel-to-Reel off to the side, it’s just the men themselves. John in black, Paul, purple, Ringo, blue, and George, also black. Paul has the beginnings of a beard, and Ringo wears a neckerchief. But knowing Jeff, 🎶Something🎶 made me take a closer look. And 🎶I Should Have Known Better🎶 than to doubt him…Up on the head of George’s Guitar, opposite the Tuning Pegs? It reads: JUMBLE, in beautiful cursive…Amazing! It’s 🎶Every Little Thing🎶 with Jeff! So, There you have it, Folks, Done! Hey Mike..I just got around to listening to the clip. I thought/wish it were longer. Sad. I can’t imagine how devastating it had to be for him when it all came down. Funny though how Stern tries so hard to stir the pot, notice? But Sir Paul is too mellow at this stage of the game to jump at the bait. (And I was braced for a lot worse with the language, knowing Stern…but it wasn’t bad at all..yet still good to have the heads up). I could listen to Paul for days at a time. I hope he continues with this “Open Door Policy” I think he’s still sitting on a treasure trove of stories…Thanks, and I hope you’re having a good night…🎶🙋🏻
Good morning. I dived real deep but couldn’t come up with Urchin. The other three words were a cinch but not that one,at least for me. But,I decided that even though they are on the bottom of my list for groups,I wouldn’t let this stop me. The answer didn’t come right away but I came out a winner. Rather cute I might add. Angela, I went back yesterday and played your song choice and really enjoyed the video as well. Thanks for telling me to play it. Listened to your first choice today and afterward will check the rest out. Do like their songs just not their life style. Thanks again for another good post. Until tomorrow stay well.

Urchin also gave me reason to pause,but done “four” was obvious given the discussion amongst the Fab Four.We finally got back from our holiday travel trips to N Illinois,so the real newspaper was at hand this morning.

Hi all – I first saw UNRICH, but that seemed wrong, so a second look showed URCHIN. Thought REAL BEAT for the answer, but writing the letters gave it.
Except for the sad subject matter, this was a great cartoon. The first thing I noticed was that each Beatle’s sentence was a song associated with the particular person (and “Isn’t a Pity” was a great choice. The best version of the tribute performed by Eric Clapton at “Concert for George” seems to have been removed from YouTube, unfortunately. That and “Beware of Darkness’ are among my favorites.)
Second thing – the reel-to-reel tape deck, although the path of the tape makes me wonder whether Jeff is too young to have actually used one. (Reminds me of one of my favorite computer magazine ads, where a model is posed pointing at a reel of computer tape on a deck as if she’s actually doing something, but the tape seal is still clamped around the rim! 😂)
And last but not least after looking at the magnified version, George playing his *extremely* rare pre-CBS Fender Jumblecaster. 😂

Hey, Steve…Not such a POOR choice with Unrich, I could see that happening! Two of the Lous went the same way…The Songs hooked up to the dialogue was brilliant, right? It totally blew me away 3:30 this morning…There was no going back to sleep after that! I’m not sure you’re up for the task, but if there were any puzzles/cartoons from 2018 that you thought were really, really good, let me know which ones. Good cartoon today. No problem with the clue words or answer. Didn’t have trouble with it but I don’t remember seeing urchin before. There was absolute pandemonium when the Beatles came to San Francisco – crazed fans everywhere. Last Sunday’s 60 Minutes Program did a very interesting interview with Sir Paul. I just got back in, and I have tons of papers piled up all over, but I’ll find my notes, and get back to you as to when. NY went into a frenzy too with the Beatles invasion..I’ve some old newspaper clippings showing the screaming, fainting girls! I haven’t seen 60 minutes yet, I recorded it. Found it, Betty..And not too bad, I only had to move one pile! 😉 URCHIN was last used on July 13th, 2017, where it appeared as CIRNUH, and before that, May 28th, 2015, anagrammed as NIRCUH, closer to today’s. I don’t know when you hooked up here…I was only here for its’ last appearance. 📀🙋🏻
Can’t remember when I joined this Jumble group – think it’s a couple of years but my memory isn’t what it used to me so I probably forgot if urchin was already used. And yes, the Beatles caused a frenzy no matter what city they were in. One of my cousins saw them at the Cow Palace in 1964 and said it was just a wild scene. One young woman broke her leg. The story is that George Harrison especially was fond of San Francisco and of course the happy scene in the Haight Ashbury in those years. I didn’t know Jeff entered his favorite Jumbles in a contest. Will have to pay closer attention this year as some of them are really great.
You? Please! You’re soooo not alone! Look at me, I couldn’t remember where I put a piece of paper from less than 12 hours ago! I’m a menace. We all just have so much on our minds these days, it’s hard to process it all. I try not to sweat it anymore, or I’d be out on the ledge! 😉 In fact, a friend from out of state, that I’m speaking with right now, just told me that I “don’t read what he’s telling me…” Because I asked him a “redundant” question! I told him that I love him too! 😂 If I knew there’d be a test, I would have studied! 😉 Gimme a break..! LOL…As for the Beatles and the “Happy Scene”…A lot of those stories went UP IN SMOKE, right?!! 😂😂 The Reuben Award Jeff’s speaking of, is an award given out each year to the best cartoonist.
