Happy Tuesday, Jumble friends! CLOSED is a new clue word that’s making its debut today, however; it was used before in the final answer way back on 11/18/15. BLLOGA was the only anagram to trip me up this morning with my eyes seeing BOLOGNA and OBLONG at first. Upon figuring it out, its use as a clue word was very fitting given the theme of todays cartoon.
The setting for our panel appears to be a conference room where a woman at a lectern with the NASA logo is giving a presentation. Her attire along with her rectangular framed glasses gave me the impression that she’s very intelligent. The addition of the smile on her face as well as her thumb up on her left hand lets us know that the news must be good.
Reading the dialogue and sentence we discover that she’s actually part of NASA’S Mission Control and she’s giving an update on a space probe that was sent to Pluto. Doing a little research, I discovered that the space probe that Jeff has drawn is based upon an actual probe launched by NASA named New Horizons. The spacecraft was launched on January 19, 2006 and performed a flyby of Pluto on July 14, 2015 which was 9 years later!
The final solution was a 4-word layout using a combination of 11-letters. It appeared tricky at first but noticing SO grouped neatly together gave me a great starting point. GOOD jumped out at me next leaving SO and FAR for the finish. Have a terrific Tuesday, and I’ll see you tomorrow!

I’m SCOURing my brain trying to come to grips with the whole thing. What is it? A PLANET…OR..BITs of COMETS? I give UP…But as for our cartoon: The dialogue tells us the PROBE travelled “3 Billion Miles”..That’s so far… and “everything’s working”…SO?…SO FAR, SO GOOD! NASAly done, Dave! Earl…PART 2…This people-pleasing man who lives somewhere near Plattsburgh, provides us daily with a bit of prose to pique anyone’s palate. Good morning. Thanks Mike for some interesting facts,it was well worth my trip today. The song choice finished my adventure off on a good note and the puns as well as Angela’s words along with Earl sealed the journey. Nice job. I had trouble with “Closed” I’d say closed would be the second easiest word but it wasn’t for me. The other three words were solved in the same time it took me to close the words and go to the cartoon. That was nice and simple to get as far as I was concerned. Until tomorrow stay well.

Easy puzzle this morning . I too thought of bologna first but too many letters. I felt kind of sad when I heard that Pluto had been demoted from its status as an official planet. The last time I was at Disneyland, one of the gift shops had a little pin of Pluto the dog with a sign that read “Save Pluto”. Have a good one people.
Historically and emotionally, Pluto will always be a planet to me, Betty! 🙂

Your telling us that you got to attend a Red Sox game at Fenway was an answer to a prayer for me. I can just see the huge smiles on the faces of you & your son. I hope someone took a picture.
Good morning, Lelia. I actually took my brother with me to the game. The Red Sox were playing the Texas Rangers and some fans that we spoke with from Houston were nice enough to offer to take pictures of us. We spent a good hour before the game going all over the park taking photos of pretty much everything.
Fenway is always a packed house and you can feel the energy in the crowd. It makes the game so much more enjoyable to watch as you experience the highs and lows of the game right along with them.
Some severe thunderstorms are on the way and I can hear rumbling in the distance. The clouds are moving very fast out over the ocean so it’s time to get everyone out of the pool and dried off. I hope both you and Jerry are having a superb morning together. All my best for a wonderful day! 🙂

First we had excessive heat, then the monsoons began. First monsoon was killer wind & dust and then 2 days later came more wind with pounding rain.
Hi all – I tried the ED at the end and saw CLOSED right away, then after considering A BLOG, saw that BAL was most likely to occur, and GLOBAL appeared.
I’ve been following the New Horizons mission via their emails and website since the approach to Pluto began, right through the astonishing photos that showed that Pluto and its moon Charon are active, changing worlds despite all previous thought. And more amazingly, the probe is still healthy. Yes, the Kuiper Belt is not only something that holds up Giants’ announcer (and former Cleveland Indian) Duane’s pants, it’s where Pluto and other interesting objects live, including Kuiper belt object (486958) 2014 MU69, which the spacecraft is on schedule to flyby and photograph this coming January 1, 2019. Happy New Year indeed!

I was having a terrible week and your song about waiting for Lelia from the Valley of the Sun, made me so happy and cheered me up so much that I laughed out loud.
