CARTOON ANSWER:  WHEN IT CAME TO DRAWING TOURISTS, LONDON’S FAMOUS CLOCK AND GREAT BELL WERE A – – –

ATA  IM  NTE   GIC   BTR   ITO  =   BIG-TIME ATTRACTION

Good Morning, Everyone!        🇬🇧 THAT VACATION RELATION! 🇬🇧

🎶 TIME after TIME, I tell myself that I’m, so lucky to be loving you..So lucky to be the one you run to see In the evening, when the day is through…And TIME after TIME you’ll hear me say that I’m, so lucky to be loving you…🎶  “Time After Time” Frank Sinatra – 1947

🇬🇧 Vacations are a wonder, we visit far and wide
And once we become tourists, enthusiasm bides…
We get caught up in all the hype, which sometimes can IMPEDE
Itineraries that we’ve made…Why BOTHER? Comes the creed…
We TIPTOE through some places, at others we get loud,
The only GLITCH is knowing which is which among the crowds.
The romance of some places makes us NESTLE and we hug,
While others sometimes let us down, and we just give a shrug…
But bottom line we smile and pose and give ACTUAL reaction…
So some pics will be blah at best, and some BIG-TIME ATTRACTION! 🇬🇧

Considering we’re dealing with all six letter words, I think David’s gone pretty easy on us today. Except for a slight STRETCH at TIPTOE, one of those dreaded-by-some compound words, the rest were easily recognizable. So, without further ado…Our cartoon. Today, for the fourth time in recent Jumble history, we find ourselves in LONDON. We visited here in May, and in August and September of last year. Someone is fond of visiting ‘CROSS the Pond! We see a group of TOWERists, most notably, a young couple, that looks vaguely familiar. If I were to speculate, I’d say it might be DAVID and his lovely wife, CLAIRE. IF I were to speculate, I said. I mean I know the woman’s wearing a Michigan sweatshirt, and Claire received her education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, but then again, the man has HAIR, and is wearing an iconic Rolling Stones “Tongue and Lip” T-Shirt, from 1969.  And he’s no Mick Jagger…if you catch my drift!  So, could this possibly be a Throw-Back Sunday? Have we gone back in TIME? Hmm. Anyway, the lovely couple are all excited to be visiting ELIZABETH TOWER, home of the famous CLOCK, and BIG BEN, it’s BELL. Obviously, it’s a BIG deal to them. And we can see that they’re having a great TIME. So, in answer to our question..the TOWER was a ..BIGTIME ATTRACTION! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! Good one, David! We can always deBENd on you!

Ok, eye candy…Yes..I know there were no iPhones back then…But maybe Jeff just threw a Monkey SPANNER into the mix…it’s possible, no? Ok, let’s just make it simple then, and go with the LONDON LANDMARK itself. Let’s FACE it, it is a TOWERing presence! So, There you have it, BLOKES! LON DONE! Have a great day, Everyone…Enjoy your vacations! And don’t ever let TIME pass you by! 🇬🇧🙋🏻

  1. Morning, all –
Except for first finding LESTEN instead of NESTLE and backing into ACTUAL, this was one of the easier Sundays for me. I thought TOWERists was a super pun, Angela.

    • LOL! Good Morning, Caroline! Looking at the time stamp on your post, I see that I was still editing when it came in! My iPad froze on me. That’s never happened before, and I froze along with it! LOL! I had put the words up real early, and started writing the rest, when I realized the TIME! So, I ran around like the chicken without a head that I’ve become, to make Mass…When I got back, and went to publish it, EEK! The iPad froze! I need the vacation! LOL…Anyway…Nice to see you so early. Planning an early start for the Farmer’s Market? A beautiful day for a stroll through the stands. I hope I can get there too. In fact, I may go as soon as Earl CLOCKS in! It was a pretty easy go of it, right? I had fun with it, and I think most people will agree. I’m glad you had a good TIME doing it. Thanks so much for the Shout Out..the word just seemed to fit perfectly! Hope you have a fabulous day, Caroline! Ciao! 🇬🇧✈️🙋🏻

      • Yup, off to the farmers market in a few minutes. Hope you make yours.
I don’t know anything about iPads or them freezing. You still got your full post up early. Wishing you and everyone a great day, too.

        • Same to you Caroline. But right this minute I’m a blithering mess…So happy to hear that those boys are being rescued..A miracle unfolding..🙏🏻 Enjoy the outing! Life is beautiful! ❤️🙋🏻

  2. Being home this weekend meant an early look at my ‘actual’ newspaper.Actual and nestle stumped me momentarily followed by glitch, but after solving the puzzle,I could back into nestle followed by actual.

  3. Good Morning, Chuck! Home again? Two weekends in a row? Have you been arrested, Sir? Anything you’d like to tell us? 😂😂😂 Sorry..I just couldn’t resist! You know I’m just breaking your shoes, as we say in Brooklyn…So, did you see that Caroline voiced the same as you? NESTLE and ACTUAL? (And yes, I caught your “actual” pun. Kudos! 👏🏻)…And here I thought TIPTOE would be the tulip today! As a rule, I don’t usually “speak” with my Jumble posse on Sunday mornings..They sleep late, I go to Mass, etc..It’s hectic here. But I did speak with 3 of them and 2 had a GLITCH with GLITCH also. Good to see you’re getting some down time at home…And I have to say that the news is just announcing that 2 of those young boys were safely removed from the cave in Thailand. God is good, huh? 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I need a tissue, I’ve been a basket case over the whole thing….Have a good one, Chuck. Relax and enjoy! 🇬🇧🙋🏻

    • No I haven’t been arrested or restricted to home confinement,Our 4 yr old twins, Kate and Jane, are on vacation in Fla,so our trips up to Dixon to watch them on Sat haven’t been necessary, and I played in a golf fund raiser yesterday as well.

      • Oh Chuck. I hope I haven’t insulted you in any way. You know I’m just teasing you, right? I apologize if I’ve pushed the envelope too far. It’s just that it was way tooooo easy! 😂 And I’m a sucker for the punch lines…Although I do tend to get irreverent at TIMES! I’ll be honest, I have the news on. And in light of all the unbelievably horrible things going on, I’m just trying to keep my head above water. There’s sooo much ugliness and sadness out there, that’s it’s easy to lose ones faith in humanity. I just try to laugh at what I can…We all do our share of crying at the rest of it. “Ok”, she says stepping down from her soapbox! “Enough”! You Sir, and your wife, deserve a Kudo of your own, for coping with 4 year old twins! I applaud you! 👏🏻 ‘Tis no easy job, I’m sure! …So you enjoy whatever relaxation TIME you can, and I hope you did well in your tourney yesterday! You’re an ok guy, Chuck… PAR NONE! 😉🙋🏻

    • You’re very welcome. And thanks for being ok with it…nice reply for a nice guy! 🙋🏻

  4. Good afternoon. Only had a problem with the third word Nestle. Otherwise it was a breeze. When it came time to the cartoon I actually nodded out for about ten minutes while studying the caption. Late night coming back from Long Island, going and coming, there were two accidents which snarled traffic. To go from one sibling to another heading back to Brooklyn took a total of 2 1/2 hours. No matter when you go it’s usually an accident or two you have to deal with. Anyway, I finally stayed awake long enough to solve the cartoon. Nice job Angela. I don’t have to check this song on your opening since “old blue eyes” did it. Great poems and puns. As always stay well and God willing I will be back tomorrow.

    • Good Afternoon, Brooklyn! Hey, you’re preaching to the choir…I soooo know where you’re coming from..or not coming from! The Belt’s really a parking lot, IMO. If it’s not an accident, it’s construction ad nauseam, or the umpteen people who just got their licenses on sale from Target. FUHGEDDABOUDIT! It’s a shame, really. But you know you have to get on the road like the crack of dawn if you’re headed that way. You were here y’day like 9:30 ish…You probably set out too late. When we do it on a weekend, we leave from here around 7- 7:30. And you know I have to fight the traffic through the Verrazano besides…It was a whole lot easier when I lived in Brooklyn. So, I’m in the same boat, Paul. Brother here, brother there, and lately…never the twain shall meet! No one wants to buck the traffic. Southern State, Northern State, LIE, Jericho Turnpike….six of one, half-dozen of the other. It’s like going from the frying pan into the fryer, literally! Few weeks ago, we had a party here, took my brother almost 4 hours to get here from Commack. Thank God the place out here was nice enough to feed him and his wife after they got in…People were already on cake! And then, as you said..poor kid had to go back! And you know it’s only going to get worse, as the summer progresses..I’m at the stage where I’m begging people to take me out to St Charles…..everybody’s had it with the trip…Anyway, I hope you had a good time…Good day to relax and watch some baseball, Bud. Open the windows and just chill. Oh, the puzzle…LOL..Nestle looks like it’s the front runner…you’re in good company. Thanks for the Shout Out..you’re a doll! 😘 Can never go wrong with Frankie. You know I changed songs 3 TIMES this morning! I just couldn’t get my head straight with it…Too much of that “late night” you were talking about! 😂 Get some rest, Bud…you’ve earned it! Talk to you later. Enjoy! Ciao, Bello! 🇬🇧🙋🏻

  5. Hi all – “It’s the truth, it’s ACTUAL, everything’s gonna be satisfactual” and that word took an extra look. NESTLE took another glance, and then I saw the LIGHT and was blinded to GLITCH for a minute. ATTRACTION was the obvious answer word, and I saw the rest once I got past BIG MITE.

Speaking of ‘drawing tourists’, nobody does it better than our Jumble Jeff!
As for songs, maybe T-shirt guy is listening to “Time Waits for No one”, but after yesterday, my brain is still stuck in the 80’s:
🎵”Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick,
    The second hand unwinds
The drum beats out of time–
If you’re lost you can look and you will find me
    Time after time
If you fall I will catch you – I will be waiting
    Time after time”🎵

    Have a great Sunday!

    • Hey, G… LOL..There was no MITE he or not in my mind! I knew you’d have a song choice! The list was endless! I just told Paul, that for the first TIME, I second and third guessed myself and changed the track 3 different TIMES! Unheard of! I wanted to stay Stones too, and played with 🎶TIME Is on My Side🎶, and even considered your Cyndi, among a host of others, but they just didn’t seem to fit…The couple was just too happy…I needed love and romance and excitement..And who says it better than ( BMH) Sinatra? 🎶NOBODY Does it Better..🎶..( GO ahead…I know it’s coming..😂)…Anyway, you seem to have had the most GLITCHes with the puzzle today, so you get the “TIME Out” Award…Yes, it’s a new feature we’ll be implementing..😂😂 Have a good one, G! You need a little down time too after that loss last night…Soooo close! Talk to you later, Al! Enjoy! 😂🙋🏻

  6. Why BOTHER or even TIPTOE around the ACTUAL or perceived GLITCH when it does not IMPEDE the urge to NESTLE for the lovebirds.
No difficulty with the clue words or the solution, in spite of the large number of circled letters. Clever cartoon, although I cringed at the “tourists'” behaviour, I understand their enthusiasm.
Who can criticize your choice for the song today, Angela, certainly, not I
Your poem is perfectly pertinent and point on point. Well done and I did not miss the “spanner” reference–jolly good show.
The day began with a major GLITCH here that did little to IMPEDE my ACTUAL irritation and created a BOTHER that caused some to TIPTOE around me and only now has allowed me to nestle down in my “cave.”
I’ll save you the bothersome details.

    • Hi Earl. I was just about ready to put out the APB! My morning was incomplete without you! Here I was hoping you were at the beach with your nephews, so I’m sorry to hear about the GLITCH. At least whatever it is has passed…Not post? You’d hear the sound of breaking hearts everywhere! 💔 Especially on a day featuring Anglophiles! No way, Sir! You’re much too valuable to us, and you must know that by now…Lateness excused…missing in action…off the table! 😉 I especially liked your incorporation of the lovebirds into your sentence. I found them adorable also. Your second entry… just as creatively delightful! Thanks for your Shout Out, and the Poem Nom, and yes, Spanner was “thrown in” just for you. You must know that also! 😉 It was inspired by a question you posed to me sometime last year when we dealt with an old TIME puzzle of men working on Ben if I’m not mistaken. I smiled as I penned it! Wishing you a complete reprieve from the mornings GLITCH, and I hope the rest of this beautiful day keeps you happy and smiling! Be well, Sir! 🇬🇧🙋🏻

    • Earl..I failed to mention…I hope you’re watching Miss Serena. Win or lose, she’s poetry in motion..🎾🙋🏻

      • Thanks Angela for all your praise and yes I was able to see the last set for MAMA Serena. 🎾 🎾 🎾 🍓

        • Earl…You’re very welcome. “All truth”, as we say in Brooklyn. Mama Serena, I like that. I like her. Always have. And it’s so frustrating to have to listen to all this nonsense lately about her losing her edge, gaining too much weight, blah, blah, blah. And all the result of having a baby? Please …so sexist and totally unfair IMO. And yet, she handles it with such dignity and grace. Kudos! Mama Serena. 👏🏻👏🏻Pure class can never be denied. She did well today and I’m rooting so strongly for her to go all the way once again…So Earl..I was lying out on board, enjoying the sun. And I had the TIME…So I looked through my files, and my memory served me well…Lo and behold! 😂 I found what we were speaking of..The puzzle involved work being done years ago on BIG BEN. I wrote that one of the workmen had a wrench in his hand. You called me on it, and asked..”What is he holding…in Brit speak”? 😂 And I answered as follows…I’m laughing now as I did that morning last year..I’m on my way home…It’s been a beautiful day…I hope yours is now too, an I hope this tickles your fancy…🇬🇧🙋🏻

I think what you’re referring to is not a common word,
Well not here in America, it’s not one that’s been heard..
The tool is one I’ve used a lot, I’m quite adept and knowing,
When ever I have trouble with a faucet that keeps flowing…
But what you want, I hope I’m right..I’ll answer in this manner..
Dear Anglophlle do you want me to tell you it’s a Spanner? 🔧🙋🏻
