CATHW – WATCH

RNIDG – GRIND

MYITLE – TIMELY

TUONDL – UNTOLD

CARTOON ANSWER: WHEN HARRY AND MEGHAN SPLASHED EACH OTHER

ON THEIR HONEYMOON, IT WAS A – – –

WAT   GRN   IEY   TOL   =     ROYAL “WETTING”

Good Morning, Everyone!          👰🏻👑 WETTER OR KNOT? 👑👰🏻

🎶 Come with me, my Love ..To the SEA, the SEA OF LOVE...I want to tell you how much I love you…Do you remember when we met…That’s the day I knew you were my pet….I want to tell you how much I love you….🎶 “Sea of Love” – Phil Phillips 1959

👰🏻👑 A sea of blue the newlyweds are frolicking about,
There’s no way Harry has a paunch, so that I’ll do without…
We WATCH them looking happy, with no cares upon their minds,
It seems they’ve gotten far away from what’s their daily GRIND.
The graphic’s very TIMELY, since they’ve recently returned,
From the UNTOLD destination and the wagging tongues still burn.
But does it really matter where they went to celebrate?
What is the fascination with this pair of Royal mates?
To Anglophiles it’s such big news, there’s guessing and there’s betting…
I like them both, but let’s get real…it’s just a ROYAL “WETTING”! 👑👰🏻

With all our words today being Sweet Repeats, I was surprised to see that TIMELY had just appeared here 15 days ago. WATER the odds? And besides perhaps a slight tic at UNTOLD, they’re all easy, breezy entries for today. So let’s move one to our solution…🎶Somewhere Out There🎶 is where we find ourselves today. PRINCE HARRY and his Bride, MEGHAN MARKEL are shown REIGNING supreme in our cartoon. Since no one knows for SHORE where they HONEYMOONED, we can only go by what we SEA. And what we SEA is the lovely couple, getting along SWIMMINGLY, frolicking in the WATER. The ROYALS are in the WATER. So being asked what it was when they SPLASHED around on their HONEYMOON?..It was a ROYAL “WETTING“! Now how cute is that? Well done, David…you still REIGN amongst the best!

Ok, eye candy. There’s an adorable little FISH grinning up  happily at HARRY…Who wouldn’t? There’s Jeff’s signature sinking SAILBOAT adorning the background…but that ship has sailed…So the CROWNing Glory today? MEGHAN’S wearing a DIAMOND RING and a CROWN! And that topped it off for me! So, There you have it, Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone…And HEIRS 🍷 to the Happy Couple!👑👰🏻🙋🏻

SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO MIKE: 🎈Happy Birthday! And many, many more! 🎈

    • Good Morning, Sir or Madam! I could see where that would be a ROYAL pain in the —-! 😉 Have a good one! 👑🙋🏻

  1. Her TIMELY arrival at the daily GRIND was due to an obsession with punctuality and an UNTOLD devotion to her satellite-controlled WATCH.
You were spot on Angela with the prediction that UNTOLD would slow me down—those pesky compound words. The solution, even with the inverted commas was not a bother.
Your song is one I vaguely remember but I’ll have to do some research to hear the melody.
Perhaps “Poem and Post” could be the title of a ditty to describe your majestic musings. Well done, well done.
Off to volunteer to substitute for an ailing comrade.

    • Good Morning, Earl. …I think UNTOLD may slow a few of us down this morning…And you are spot on with your ROYAL offering today! 👏🏻 I still get a chuckle every time you use your British reference to the quotation marks..the inverted commas ..very apropos for our puzzle! Majestic musings? You’re too kind, Sir. Thank you very, very much. And I like the sound of Poem and Post. You know how fond I am of alliteration! 😉 The song today is one I’m sure you’ll recognize. A very slow, sultry..”Oh yes, you can dance to it” sound from the late 50’s. Enjoy it! Thanks again for the Shout Outs, and stay cool….👑🙋🏻

  2. I thought the first word in the solution was ‘water’ but then there was no solution for the second word,so royal came to mind next with a royal wetting, a clever pun.

    • Good Morning, Chuck. I never considered WATER, but it’s a valid guess. I was already thinking ROYAL as soon as I glanced at the cartoon, so it just fell into my lap. I think it’s a great pun, very clever indeed! Wishing you an easy, breezy day, Sir! Stay cool! 👑🙋🏻

  3. Good morning. Great post Angela. Especially the song you chose. I’m sure they sold a lot more records when the movie came out with Al Pacino. It sure is one of my favorites,I get transported back to the movie every time when I hear it. Earl has yet to fail when using his creativity on the words, well done. Today’s jumble was easy breezy with Untold being the hardest of the words. When it came time to the cartoon, even though it had the last word in quotation marks I persevered. I have to admit the answer is cute. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn! Thanks for the Shout Out! I knew I had you today with my song choice! I remember you telling me last time how much you liked it. And it transports me too…but not to the movie! 😉 Unbelievably romantic song… We still dance to it…And you’re right about the resurgence. It brought an appreciation of 50’s-60’s music to a whole new generation…Despite the easy, breeziness of the puzzle, Earl shares your tic at UNTOLD…it is anagrammed very well. And yes, that man can definitely turn a phrase! He tickles my funny bone every morning…You gave me a chuckle too, as usual with your perseverance at the challenge of the quotation marks you dislike so much! I’m glad you got over. You know, I made a quick early run to Brooklyn y’day, and I wanted to stay and stop at Roll-N-Roaster for lunch…But my friend hates the heat…He was just in the worst rush to get back..Said he’d rather just “buy me a *#*£>% cow”! Nice, very nice! LOL..Only I couldn’t get the roast beef out of my head all day! 😂 Ended up having it for dinner…but you know it wasn’t the same, Paul. Next time I’m getting it! 😉Anyway…I hope you’re keeping cool…Ciao, Bello! 👑🙋🏻

      • My niece travels from S.I. To go to Roll N Roaster. For me it’s OK but I wouldn’t go out of my way. Number 3 when he is in Brooklyn has to stop and bring home food for his family. If you remember the last time I was there I was with four of my kids and some grandkids. It’s just me. I’d rather be at a German or Italian restaurant. Played bocce yesterday. Showed up and there were six waiting so,myself and a chairman watered the court and by then we had ten people who wanted to play. Without wetting down the court the ball just sails. An hour into the game you can see the big difference.

        • Paul, you know I’d rather go to To Brennan & Carr. But we were going RIGHT BY THE BAY! I figure I’m nice enough to take the ride with him, and read him the sports pages while we’re driving …C’mon gimme a break! 😂😂 He was just twisted about something…I should make him buy me the d–m cow! 😂 I just had an urge for roast beef, what can I say? 😉 You played bocce in this heat? I give you credit. Is the court shaded? I remember prepping the courts when I was a kid with my Grandfather….He was a masterful player…Anyway, be careful out there..Make sure you have a lot of water. 🔥🙋🏻

    • Hey Harry. It’s fine here. It’s not just you. I put the post up at 4AM, and never got an email. Somehow the site took down my registration! Go figure! Hang in there, Hoosier. 🙋🏻

  4. Clever puzzle this morning. Untold really tripped me up. I too thought of water at first but then I figured out one word would probably end in “ing” and wetting appeared. When Charles & Diana got married I got up at 2:00 a.m. To watch the ceremony. Since that marriage didn’t turn out so well, I recorded Kate & William and Harry & Meghan and watched it at my leisure over the next couple of days. Hopefully they will live “Happily Ever After”. Happy Tuesday everyone.

    • Good Morning, Betty. I’m ROTFL at your assessment of Royal Wedding Watching! Too funny. I was up anyway, so I watched Harry and Meghan. And I cried through practically the whole thing. I thought it was so beautifully done, and so unlike what we’ve known the others to be. I didn’t see the previous weddings, but there’s been enough footage over the years to choke a horse, so it was just as well. I like Harry, and I’m with you. I hope they do live the happily ever after dream. Untold is definitely in the lead today, I felt it would be. And funny you also thought “water”. I never even saw the word…Good observation! Hoping you’re having a great day…👰🏻🙋🏻

    • It’s a landslide! The last time UNTOLD appeared, from what I can tell, was May 2016. So I guess keeping it under wraps all this time paid off for David! 😂 And as for not knowing Harry and his bride? You make #7 telling me that this morning, Chuck. All men! You’re in good company! 😉🙋🏻

  5. SWEET! Quick & easy Tuesday solve of cartoon answer & clue words, and I choose this as one of my very favorite pun-answers of all times.
    Enjoy your day, all!

    • Good Morning, Lelia. It definitely is a keeper! Hope you enjoy your day also! 👰🏻🙋🏻

  6. Hi, Steve! I agree that the name of Jeremy’s band, “Goat Cheese Pizza,” is very funny. I also got a chuckle out of their side-stage being 4 pallets put together.

You gave me a huge, happy laugh with your song to me about “Waiting, waiting, etc. for Lelia to post….” Thank you for that!

I know what you mean about noticing how green Burbank looked after being in Tucson. When we first moved to AZ, how I did miss the “green green grass of home” where I was born in Arkansas.

I read something ages ago about someone moving from out here to back east and feeling claustrophobic with no “wide open spaces,” whereas the one moving out here from back east felt like a mouse in the middle of a football field.

Unexpected treat for me: Younger daughter is coming at noon today with food she made just for me without too many spices: a pot of steak & gravy cooked all day yesterday until falling-apart-tender with egg noodles to pour it over, egg salad and deviled eggs, and sugared strawberries/whipped cream for dessert. Jerry & I will share this feast & left-over vegetables for lunch with both daughters.

    • Hi Lelia – Glad I could give you a laugh!
You’ve mentioned drums a couple of times now, so I though you might find this YouTube clip interesting. It’s about Led Zeppelin’s drummer John Bonham. Even many of his peers considered him among the greatest of all time, and this clip explained to me in text and video a lot of the technical points and pure talent that he showed. (Plus they sound really good!) I’m usually pretty good with unusual time signatures, but there are a few things in here that, although I understand what he’s saying, I still can’t reproduce.

      • Hi Steve, again. Thanks for the link to the highly esteemed drummer John Bonham. You mentioned trying to duplicate some of his drumming techniques. I know you play the guitar but do you also play the drums? I loved playing my bongo drums when I was in high school.
I LOVE the song Ebb Tide. Thanks for mentioning it and bringing back good memories of singing it before I wore my voice out teaching school.

        • No Lelia, I never had the space or money for a drum set, but I’ve always just enjoyed tapping out rhythms. I guess Dave Brubeck’s “Take Five” was one of the first, but later the music of Yes and Led Zep had some really interesting things to figure out that weren’t the usual 3/4 or 4/4.

  7. Hi all – I was hindered by wanting OUT to be in the last word, but as soon as I tried UN it was obvious (after a brief consideration of UNDOLT.) For the answer I first thought WATERY, but when I wrote down the letters, ROYAL jumped right out.

I think if the camera panned right, we would see Mike and his family splashing right alongside the happy couple. We’ll have to ask him when he gets back whether they had a Royal pool noodle fight.

I was surprised to see that our resident Anglophiles and Royal watchers Earl, Angela, and now Betty it seems didn’t jump right on the fact that Meghan is most definitely not a princess. The BBC especially went into exhaustive and excruciating detail about the precise names and honorifics she is ENTITLED to use. (Apparently even the term Princess Diana was never used; rather Diana, Princess of Wales, and apparently that makes a big difference in that rarified world.)

It must be the ocean in the songs that produces those feelings Angela, so I’ll throw one back atcha that doesn’t have the title in its lyrics:
🎵”First the tide rushes in, plants a kiss on the shore
Then rolls out to sea, and the sea is very still once more”🎵

    Have a great day, everyone!

    • Hey G…ROYAL was easy to spot once you saw the letters…UH, LOL..Location? I know they didn’t honeymoon in New Hampshire…But that’s where Mike is…And love 🎶Ebb Tide🎶 But I’m not sure what you mean by “those feelings🎶 What am I missing? I’ll need your help with that one, it’s been a longggg day….😳 As for Royal watcher? Me? 🎶I’m just wild about Harry…🎶..😉 Have a good one, Bud! 👑🙋🏻

      • I just meant where you said “And it transports me too…but not to the movie!
        Unbelievably romantic song…”
They’re both romantic songs with the ocean involved.

        • Hey G…Oh ok. I thought you were referring to something I said in my post, and I was re-reading it to see where I mentioned “feelings”. I didn’t realize you were picking up on my reply to Paul…Been too long a day…😳!..🙋🏻
