WARELY – LAWYER

DEONLO – NOODLE

CARTOON ANSWER:  THE SUN HAS BEEN COMING UP IN THE EAST EVERY

MORNING SINCE THE – – –

IT   FM   AWE   NOD   =    DAWN OF TIME

Good Morning, Everyone!                🌞 THE MAINE EVENT 🌞

🎶 Here comes the SUN (doo doo doo doo)….Here comes the SUN, and I say…It’s all right….Little Darling, it’s been a long cold lonely winter, Little Darling, it feels like years since it’s been here…Here comes the SUN, Here comes the SUN, and I say, It’s all right…🎶:  “Here Comes The Sun” – The Beatles. 1969

🌞 Since 1808 there has been a Lighthouse to guide ships,
Through Quoddy Narrows there in Maine, ‘oer all the FOAMY whips…
A LAWYER isn’t needed, no NOODLE scratching’s called,
The information’s all on-line, for reading, one and all…
The INPUT is amazing, an interesting read…
The things one learns from Jumbling’s amusing…yes indeed.
The clock face reads 4:45, I’m finishing up this rhyme…
And just like our cartoon we’ll see another DAWN OF TIME! 🌞

Watching the SUNRISE has to be one of the most beautiful sights to behold. And even though I do it almost every DAY, it never ceases to amaze me…But today’s puzzle did, because I never knew about WEST QUODDY HEAD. I knew about the SUN first RISING over MAINE but it never really DAWNED on me where in MAINE. But that all changed today…What hasn’t changed though is our DAILY ritual of looking for a Jumble solution, so let’s SEE what ARISES…All Sweet Repeats, the only word that may give us a sLIGHT pause today, is LAWYER. And I’ll tell you why…The “L-Y“. We’re sort of programmed to see “LY ” as the ending of a word, and with David printing it as such, it only adds to the belief. And if you reSHINEd yourself to SEEing onLY that this MORNING?…Well…you may find yourself in the DARK. Ok, our cartoon. Today, we’re at WEST QUODDY (pronounced like COD), HEAD, MAINE, the Easternmost point of the contiguous United States. This little spot is one of three places in MAINE where the SUN RISES first in the U.S. And today, June 29th, the SUN ROSE at exactly 4:45 AM. So, in answer to our question…the SUN‘s been COMING UP in the EAST every MORNING since the…DAWN OF TIME! Good one, David! Let’s SHINE a little LIGHT on you!

Ok, eye candy..Aside from the iconic Red and White striped LIGHTHOUSE in the background, and the Lobster Trap with its’ buoy seen still attached, this panel’s all about the SUNRISE. The entire cartoon is bathed in a beautiful Golden Hue, with the RAYS of SUN emanating outward, as it peeks over the HORIZON. Candy? It doesn’t get any Sweeter than that! So, There you have it, Folks, SUN! Have a great day, Everyone! And may the SUN SHINE upon you today! 🌞🙋🏻

  1. The LAWYER needed no INPUT from his colleagues before applying the FOAMY shave cream to his balding NOODLE.
The only word to slow me down was FOAMY—that combination of vowels is perhaps the explanation? The solution was a clever play on the word DAWN and I like that more than the puns we often get, but that’s just me.
Angela thanks for the Beatles’ song—another one I enjoy hearing and humming. Your poem and facts about where the sun rises first in the USA was all new to me and I am grateful for the research you’ve done. I also love sunrises and remember some memorable sunrises and sunsets in Provincetown, MA on Cape Cod.
I plan to get out and ride my bike today before the Heat Wave gets here.

    • Good Morning, Earl. Noodle was a tough one to work with, right? I see we both went the same way with it.😉 Your sentence? Imaginative as always! 👏🏻 I enjoyed the solution too…another easy gift! You’re very welcome, some of the facts were new to me too…And again, as always, Thanks for the Shout Out and Poem Nom. As to our song…A no-brainer today, am I right? Chose itself! Yep, Sunrises …I really am outside almost every morning watching them, no matter where I am…One of those things in life that are free and soooo rewarding…They give me hope! Enjoy the bike ride, and I’m dreading the Heat Wave too..I’ll leave you with a chuckle…I mentioned it to a friend early this morning in an Email, and this is what he wrote me in reply.. “It’s summer Angela. You don’t have to shovel it”! 😂 I’m still laughing! Have a good one, Sir! 🌞🙋🏻

  2. I didn’t know about the sun rising first in Maine, Angela, and Earl’s sentence had me smiling.
To get LAWYER I needed the answer first and then lots of jumbling on paper.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. I hear ya! Between 2-3 Special Friends that start Emailing me every day before SUNRISE, and Earl’s Pearls, Paul’s Sunshine and laughter, and Steve’s Sports Witticisms, …I find myself always smiling in the early MORNING. Oh, and because of the “In-Person” Persons in my life too, of course! ….(Just in case any of them are reading this)! 😉 It’s definitely the best way to start a day, I figure LAWYER to be today’s stumper too,…That’s why I mentioned it…Just in CASE😉. It hasn’t appeared in the Jumble since September 2014, so it just may cause everyone that BRIEF pause! Hoping you enjoy your day, Caroline! 🌞🙋🏻

  3. Good morning. It was the usual good work from our two Amigos. They always put a smile on my face. If I only had known that the sun rises in Maine I would have looked for it when I was stationed there for a month when I had Morse code. A hand full was picked for a crash course. My noodle was in slow mode because it took me some time to get that word plus lawyer. When I got to the cartoon, it was a no brainer. It was the first thing that came to me. When I checked with the letters my answer was confirmed. Until tomorrow stay well. Good choice for the song. Now if was only sung by the Temptations I would have loved it better.

    • Good Morning SUNSHINE! The Temps? I’ll make a note of it. Please don’t think I’m out to get you with 2 Beatles songs in a row 😉 I really had no choice! Especially today..You know it picked itself! So NOODLE got you, besides LAWYER? I didn’t think it’d be one of the PASTAbilities, but then again, you can’t go by me..I’m a Foodie! Enjoyed your Navy memory…please take my advice and write your stories down…Your Family will cherish them. Thanks for the Shout Out…I sent one out to you in my post to Caroline…Stay cool, Brooklyn…🎶The HEAT is on…🎶 Ciao, Bello! 🌞🙋🏻

  4. YIKES! No quick solve for me today. My Friday solve was slowed to a snail’s pace by the word LAWYER. I enjoyed the cartoon picture about a sunrise.
Here in Phoenix, AZ, we are famous for our beautiful sunsets. Google tells you all about them with the whens and whys.
    Enjoy your Friday!

    • Hi Lelia. LAWYER does seem to have SUMMED it up as the stickler today…Just the looks of it…I hope you got to see the cartoon in color..It’s really pretty. Have a good one! 🌞🙋🏻

  5. Hi all – The last word took some extra glances – I should have used my NOODLE and put the O’s together to start with. Then the third word really took extra time. It was WAY EARLY in the cartoon, and I approached it WARILY, but none of my tricks worked until I separated the vowels and consonants a second time, put the L first and finally saw LAWYER.

My first thought was that this was 🎵”On the road to Mandalay, where the flying fishes play, and the sun comes up like thunder out of China cross the bay”🎵, but these two don’t look much like Bing Crosby or Bob Hope.

Thanks for the geographic info Angela. I didn’t know about the sunrises, but I have long been amused by the fact that one of the Easternmost points in the US is named “WEST Quoddy Head’ – like, where does that leave East Quoddy Head then (Canada?)

Speaking of The Beatles and things in the East – from “A Hard Day’s Night” –
Newsman: “How do you find America?”
John Lennon: “Turn left at Greenland.”

I’ll give a plug again to the website timeanddate dot com for an amazing amount of info about sun and moon rises and sets, seasons, planets, calendars and tons of other interesting stuff.

    Stay cool everyone!

  6. YW..I thought the same with the East-West thing. Read up on it, if you get a chance.. it’s very interesting, really…You know something, G? NOODLE got you last time out too. That’s twice now you’re in HOT WATER with that word! 😉 We’ll have to think of something. I thought for sure you’d pick up on the time of my post…I had it done early, but purposely waited to send it…Hand poised atop that Publish button…waiting, waiting!!😂😂 Have a good one, Bud! 🙋🏻

    • That is too funny! My doors of perception weren’t open that early.
🎵”Waiting for the sun, Waiting for the sun
      Waiting, waiting”🎵

      • Your Doors! 👏🏻 I really was waiting..waiting..😳😳! 🎶Can you feel it …Now that Spring has come…That it’s time to live in the scattered sun…🎶 😉🙋🏻

    • Hi Chuck…Yep..Temptation definitely there…Can’t help it…That’s why I mentioned it…😉
The wily “LY”! Made your “cool” plans for the next few days? Yanks-Red Sox? Watching? Always exciting….Hope you’re enjoying your night…🌞🙋🏻

      • Rare weekend at home with our almost 4 yr old twin girls ,Kate and Jane,on vacation in Nashville for the night, and on their way to a Fla vacation tomorrow,

        • Hey Chuck. Rare in your case is right…You sound like you do cover some serious ground! I think it’s a great weekend to be home. A zillion people out there traveling…I heard on the news earlier that they’re predicting this may be the most travelled 4th of July “weekend” into week ever…Nashville? Amazing. Love it there. I’d move, if anyone’d go with me! LOL…And who doesn’t love Florida? I have a home in Port St Lucie, it’s so nice there…Especially for a golfer! 😉 So you have little twin girls? How sweet is that? God bless! Sorry about the delay getting back to you…Eating, finishing the game…Nice win for the Yanks. I keep hearing words like “blistering”, “stifling”..”exceeding”, etc…..Blah, blah blah…Heat is on! Hope you’re having a great night! 🌞🙋🏻
