CARTOON ANSWER: NASCAR STAR KEVIN HARVICK LOVES GOLF AND

PARTICULARLY ENJOYS A – – –

DGE   IR   LN   VO   =   LONG DRIVE

Good Morning, Everyone!                     🏌🏎  DRIVING FORE-WARD?  🏎🏌

🎶 FORE!! Straight down the middle…It went straight down the middle, then it started to hook just a wee wee bit…That’s when my caddie lost sight of it! That little white pellet has never been found to this day!…But it went straight down the middle,  like they say….Whack down the fairway...It went smack down the fairway...Then it started to slice just a smidge off line…It headed for two but it bounced off nine!  My caddie says long as you’re still in the state, you’re okay! ..Yes it went straight down the middle quite a ways….Oh the life of a GOLFER is not all gloom, there’s always the lies in the locker room…But I’m in my glory when wrapped in a towel I say….That it went straight down the middle….Where it wound up is a riddle…But it went straight down the middle far away….🎶

🏌🏎 Kevin Harvick, Nascar Star, he definitely knows his stuff…
No matter if he’s on the track, or playing in the rough.
This cartoon may lead us to think he never ends up there,
But let’s be real, he may drive long..but I’m sure that he’s been near.
A golfers life’s a funny one, a VOYAGE of a sorts,
You get out there and HEDGE your bets against all your cohorts.
The IRONY is always there, the truth is sometimes bent,
They get back to the locker room and one by one they vent…
They LOUNGE around in towels, and then they come alive…
Who putts the best, who’s swing is best..who’s got the real LONG DRIVE!🏎🏌

Looking at our FORE words today..I wondered..Anything new? Not by a LONG SHOT…All Sweet Repeats. I immediately recognized them from past PLAY…and had no trouble solving them in due COURSE. Although why LOUNGE looked like Engulf for a second, I don’t know!  Just one of the HAZARDS of this GAME I guess! So, after LINING them UP, I DROVE on to our cartoon…Since my song choice ran a little LONG this morning, I’m going to try to keep this SHORT..PUTT, knowing me? ?..I might not be able to SWING it…Anyway, BACK once again on the GOLF COURSE, today we met KEVIN, “Happy Harvick”, HARVICK, a PROfessional Stock Car Race DRIVER. He’s seen playing aROUND in his leisure time, since GOLF seems to be his SECOND SHOT at Sports! He’s PLAYING with another man, Wedgeworth, WEDGE for short…Our question is telling us that he enjoys GOLF HOLEheartedly, and our dialogue’s saying that his SWING is always on TRACK. So, PUTTING this PAIR of hints together, we realize that he “PARticularly enjoys a...LONG DRIVE! Good one, David! You always FOLLOW THROUGH!

Ok. The eye candy…I like the detailed GOLF shoes..PUTT they’re not enough to SPIKE my interest…I like the Shades both men are wearing, but WOOD have liked them better if they were GREEN…There’s two TEE MARKERS, but I’ll GO aROUND themThere’s the DIVOT, (nice CHUNK of dirt), and of COURSE the crushed TEE…I like the UP and DOWN line of motion we can see with Kevin’s SWING…And I like the Number FORE disPLAYed on both his cap and the GOLF CART, since he DRIVES the No. 4 Ford Fusion for Stewart-Hass RacingWEDGE is shown wearing a GLOVE on his right hand, and noticing the face of his DRIVER, we can tell that he’s left handed… Nice Shout Out to us Lefties! ..PUTT I think today instead of a graphic, I’m going with the written WORD for the solution..”Loves Golf and “PAR“ticularly enjoys a….” A hidden PUN FORE us, perhaps? I don’t know about you, but it really GRIPPED me, and I laughed so hard, I almost CHOKEd DOWN my coffee! So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone. And for all you GOLFERS out there…Always keep this in mind…It’s called GOLF, only because all the other FORE letter words were already taken! And today, may the COURSE be with you! 🏌🙋🏻

  1. On a long VOYAGE, there is a definite IRONY listening to a HEDGE fund executive whine about his losses in the VIP LOUNGE.
No problem with any clue words, all oldies, and the solution was also easy.
Angela, I know next to nothing about NASCAR or golf, so any details in the cartoon were lost on me. It’s one of those days when I look at the cartoon for hints about the answer but otherwise move on to other things. Thanks for the song,, again one I am not familiar with but appreciate its relevance. Your poem and posts are impressive and certainly show a comprehensive grasp of racing and golf courses. Good for you.
I’m off to the canal trail for a morning of biking. Later.

    • Good Morning, Earl…Running around already…Just got back from voting…
Thanks so much for the Shout Out and Poem Nom, Sir…As always, you’re way too kind. Your sentence has me LOL! You never fail to amaze me…Such a fascinating imagination! The cartoon, as always, offers up a lot of little tidbits…Although a veteran Golfer friend of mine pointed out to me early this morning that since the HOLE starts in front of the TEE, where we’re seeing the DIVOT, (the piece of sod torn from the ground), is definitely in the wrong place. So either that brown image showing is not the DIVOT…or ooopppss! We got a DRAW flaw! Just sayin’! 😉 And I raised the poor guys blood pressure, way too early in the morning trying to get it STRAIGHT! I owe him big time! The song is Bing Crosby’s 🎶Straight Down the Middle🎶, which was written for a 1948 movie called “Honor Caddy”. It starred him, Bob ❤️ Hope and golf greats Ben Hogan and Sam Snead. I was never a Crosby fan, but once again, I’ll suggest you check it out on YouTube. It’s an adorable, fun, upbeat tune, so unlike his usual FAIR..WAY 😉 different from what I always knew of him! Hope you have an invigorating time with your outing. I hear the weather up there is wonderfully cool, perfect FORE biking! Enjoy, Sir! 🏌🙋🏻

      • I was going to say how can I check out the song if I don’t even know the title but I see you told Earl the song and when I went back to your post,it’s right there at the beginning. Now my next question is do you put the song title like you did today every day? If you did then my engine is only working on maybe four cylinders instead of eight. I definitely will check out the song. Take care.

        • Hey Bud. No, not every day. So, no worrying about your cylinders…they still got juice! Since Earl’s always the first one to write in, I usually take my cue from him. If he mentions that he doesn’t recognize the song, then I’ll tell it to him in my reply. Maybe I should post it at the end of the lyrics? So that neither of you needs to ask? And then you could go right straight to YouTube! 😂 Sorry if I threw you off, Bud…According to my friends…I tend to do that a lot! 😉 My apologies, and yes, check it out…It’s a cutie! Ciao, Bello! 🎶🙋🏻

  2. Good morning. I had a pit stop at Vogage but other than that my engine purred at top speed. That would be my choice for the hardest word. Once I looked at the letters the cartoon answer appeared. Angela,I’m at a loss for your opening song but you poem and post was enjoyable. Earl came through as always as well as you Angela. Thanks guys. Until Tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn! I like the RACING puns! You’re RUNNING on all CYLINDERS this morning, aren’t you, Bud? And I agree, the answer’s easier than the words. Paul..YouTube!! YouTube!! I thought you were doing it as a rule now! 😉 Take a look at what I told Earl above..It’s the cutest song! Thanks once again for the Shout Out! You’re ACEs in my book! Have a good one, Bud! 🏎🙋🏻

  3. What are the 3 words starting with ‘F’ that you never want to see on a golf course?,,,,,,Fungus….Flowers…..Females….C’mon folks it is a joke!!! Guy putts his first putt to within 6 inches of the hole…looks at opponent and ask, “is it good”? Opponent responds, “It’s not bad!” New rule for golf courses in New Jersey, you cannot pick up a lost golf ball until it stops rolling!

    • Hey Harry..Good Morning…PUTT don’t you mean Long Island? Phil Mickelson’s “controversial” move at Shinnecock Hills? Because I’m pretty sure NOBODY loses their balls in Jersey! 😂 And just FORE you: “Do you play off scratch?” asked one player….The other replied: “I sure do. Every time I hit the ball I scratch my head and wonder where it went.”…
Nice to see you, Hoosier Man. Have a good one! 🏌⛳️🙋🏻

  4. I was originally thinking a Love Round,as in Davis Love the golfer, but with the absence of a ‘u’,and the presence of a race car drive-r,long drive came to mind.

    • Hi Chuck..Good Afternoon! ..Yea, the DRIVE was the key today…Great pun, right? Golf lends itself to a lot of puns…You know I haven’t forgotten that I said I’d write a Golf Piece for you.. It’s just that I’ve had to scratch quite a few…Some of these double entendres just aren’t suited for a family blog! 😂 Glad you got yourself back on TRACK! Have a good one, Sir! ⛳️🏌🙋🏻

  5. Hi all – Only the third word took an extra look – saw LONG and then put the extra letters in. Nicely drawn cartoon and a good pun, but I’m not finding anything to comment on, so I’ll just wish you all a great day until tomorrow.

Thanks for the info about Mike. If I can do this without pulling a facial muscle, I’ll wink while putting my tongue in my cheek and leave this lyric for him:
🎵”Are you going away with no word of farewell?
Will there be not a trace left behind?”🎵 😉😂🙋🏻‍♂️

    • …And how incorrigible are you?! 😉😉 A wink to match yours…and one of my own! …🎶Well, I could’ve loved you better, didn’t mean to be unkind…You know that was the last thing on my mind…🎶. Later, Grasshopper, Have a good one! 🏌🙋🏻

      • I’ve been grounded since all the helium leaked out of my incorrigible. 😂🙋🏻‍♂️

  6. I found the first two words easy but had to back into LOUNGE (again) and VOYAGE. Drive was the first word that came to me. My husband needs the computer so I’ll catch up later, as I often do.

    • Hi Caroline, Nice to see you. We had LOUNGE last on New Year’s Eve…So perhaps it’s only fair that we all get a pass on that one! 😉 And yes, DRIVE was the key! Hope you’re having a great day! Ciao! 🏌🏎🙋🏻

  7. DONE! Easy solve for me of all 4 words and the cartoon answer even though I know very little about golf.
Enjoy your day, and I will try to do the same.

    • H Lelia…They do seem to be getting easier as the days go by! Hope you have a good one! Enjoy! ⛳️ 🏎🙋🏻
