CARTOON ANSWER:  THE MEDIEVAL TAVERN WAS OPEN DAILY UNTIL 12 A.M. AND SERVED CUSTOMERS – –

HGGFAETTKINHNKTRI – “KNIGHT” AFTER “KNIGHT”

Good Morning, Everyone!     ⚔ KNIGHT TIME…IS THE RIGHT TIME

🎶KNIGHT and day you are the one…Only you beneath the moon or under the sun. Whether near to me or far, it’s no matter Darling where you are, I think of you..day and KNIGHT, KNIGHT and day…🎶

⚔ We’re at a Medieval Tavern, one FEMALE’s all we see
Four Knights and a bartender make the rest of the party,
The place serves as an OUTLET for them to quench their THIRST
We see two Knights have just arrived, two others got there first.
The men are fit, not CHUNKY, the owner sports a tie
The bar wench don’t look happy, she sits and rolls her eyes…
She says the men are regulars…do these guys HAGGLE her?
‘Cause she sure don’t seem thrilled right now to be there in the bar.
But here the Knights are gathered, like KITTENs turned to lions
I wonder if they play those darts to see who may be buyin’
It seems like it’s a nice place, there’s torches burning bright…
So check your swords and hoist a few…they’re here...KNIGHT AFTER KNIGHT!⚔

Sunday words. A little harder perhaps…If I had to pick JOUST one? Maybe THIRST, because with the SH together, the mind starts heading in that direction..Which today, would only get you lost…So, our cartoon. Today we find ourselves at a Medieval Tavern. Knights are shown drinking, while others are just arriving. The only serving wench, (which by the way, is a word I dislike intensely), is sitting at the bar, having a drink herself. She states that her “regulars” are coming. We have Sir Roger entering first, followed by Sir Amic. He makes pottery. Seated are Sir Cumference who’s gained some weight lately…He eats too much PI. And lastly, seated but not shown to us, is Sir Render, the quiet one, the one who hates to fight. Our question tells us that the tavern is open until 12 A.M., which is when morning begins. The Tavern served customers…”KNIGHT” AFTER “KNIGHT”! Jump on that horse…and knock down a KNIGHT! Great one, David! Ok, eye candy. The emblems on the Knights armors are interesting. A tree, a dragon, and a…? I have no idea! A non-descript shape of some sort. The forerunner to a Dart Board, with three knives protruding, is very clever. The torch sheds some light…But my choice today? Looking through the open door, there’s a Quarter Moon visible! It’s KNIGHT Time! So, There you have it, Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone. And is anyone else wondering that if they stayed open past mid-KNIGHT? …Would there be a SIR CHARGE? ⚔🙋🏻

  1. Good morning Cara. CW’s were OK, but solution gave me a problem. Have a good day.

    • Good Morning, Big Guy! You snuck in before I was even done! Sorry about that…”BETTER LATE THAN NEVER” as our cartoon says! Running late today! Sorry you had a problem, it might have been all these consonants…Where’s Pat Sajak when we need him? 😂 Hope you have a good one, Caro! 🙋🏻

  2. I had no THRIST to HAGGLE over the CHUNKY FEMALE KITTEN at the OUTLET mall.
No problems today. When I saw the Ks and looked at the cartoon, it was an instant solve.
Great song choice Angela and a flagon of puns. Have a sunny Sunday and enjoy the day.

    • Good Morning, Earl. Flagon, I love it! As I do your sentence! I wouldn’t mess with that cat, either! 😂 Thanks for the shout out…Have a great day! 🙋🏻

  3. I usually have more trouble with the Sunday puzzle due to the longer words.Thirst gave me a little trouble,as I also was thinking ‘sh’ rather than ‘th’.Having the letters, knight came readily to mind as did the after and second knight.

    • Hi Chuck, Good Morning. I don’t know how long you’ve been doing them, but I think they tend to get easier as you go along. Your eye becomes trained as to what to look for. IMO anyway. And as I stated, I do feel we’re programmed to concentrate on SH in a word. I “saw” the KNIGHT immediately from the cartoon, so I caught the solution right away, especially with the quotation marks. You just knew that pun was coming! The dialogue was perfect. It was a perfect Sunday puzzle! Glad you enjoyed it, Chuck! Take care, and enjoy your day, Sir! ⚔🙋🏻

  4. Mobile version only provided 15 rather than 17 letters and some that were provided were incorrect.

  5. Good morning. “Happy days are here again”. No problem whatsoever today. My pick for the hardest word would be thirst. Took maybe five seconds longer to get. Probably writing down the letters for the cartoon implanted the answer in my head. When I looked at the cartoon the middle word I got right away and crossing the letters off ,the other words appeared. Now my question is. Did I end the week on a high note or started it on a high note? Angela nice job as always and I only took Friday off. However I still looked for you input.Earl, you never waste words in getting them all in. Nice work.

    • 🎶The skies above are clear again…🎶..LOL. Good Morning, Brooklyn! I’m happy to see you back to your old cheerful self! It was a pretty easy one for a Sunday. I thought of you as soon as I saw the quotes..But I’m glad you’re not letting them get to you any more…Tiny little devils! Was it just one day you were MIA? It seemed like more…I always considered Monday the start of the week, and I’ve been told I’m wrong. BUT…Does that matter to me? No! So it’s your choice…I’d say just go with the high note, period! You’ve earned it! Thanks for the shot in the arm, and the smile you always bring me. And I hope you have the best day, Bud! 🙋🏻

    • Thank you Paul –sometimes the clue words lend themselves to brevity–today they did. Good job solving today’s puzzle.

  6. Easy time of it today in spite of the “” marks which can make for a tricky answer. Have a good Sunday everyone.

    • Good Morning, Betty. I agree. It was practically a giveaway! And if anything, I think the quote marks made it easier to get the solve today! Wishing you a great Sunday also! Enjoy! 🙋🏻

  7. Hi, all! The answer was easy for a Sunday puzzle with the cartoon showing a KNIGHT coming in the door AFTER a KNIGHT. There was only one word that I had to joust with before I won, and I am embarrassed to say that it was FEMALE.

My favorite word was KITTEN. Loved your song choice, Angela. Now, as predictable as Steve’s daily trip to Peet’s, is my Sunday visit to KFC. Happy Sunday, all!

    • Thank you, Lelia. Not to be embarrassed. My FEMALE cousin also faltered on FEMALE today.
Enjoy your KFC and your day! 🙋🏻

    • Hi Lelia – Too bad the Maple Leafs didn’t put on a better show yesterday, but I think they were unnerved at the sight of the Olympic Gold Medal men’s curling and women’s hockey teams. (The sight of the curling team could unnerve anyone,)
My Peet’s is brand new. They renovated an adjacent space and are now doing the same to the original, so it will soon be twice as big as before and all new. And they raised the prices.

      • Hi, Steve! I loved watching the Maple Leafs from the moment the game began. They looked spectacular in their white outfits, I loved the way they covered the ice, and their quick, enthusiastic moves made me think they would win. I was surprised that the score hung in there with 2/5 to the bitter end.

I went to bed before seeing the last time period but have the whole game taped. The only thing I saw that I didn’t like was near the end of the first period or beginning of the second one and that is when the camera caught a Washington Capital smash his arm into the face of a Leaf who was just skating beside and a little behind him. I think the Leafs are a great team both with playing skills & behavior.

Jerry & I both said, “AGAIN?!” at the sight of the curling team because they have had a LOT of on-air-time including the Jimmy Fallon show.
During the Olympics when Jerry saw the women’s Canadian hockey team play for the first 5 minutes, he came into my office to invite me to come see the strongest looking women he had ever seen.

Brand new Peet’s with brand new prices. We’ll enjoy hearing about the new amenities. Hope they justify the higher prices.

When the guy asked to ride the St. Bernard…I must a’ been napping. Speaking of which… Sunday, full of KFC, nap time.

        • Hi Lelia – They switched channels on us near the end of the game because they were running late, but I don’t think we missed anything important. They said those all-white Leafs uniforms were a Tribute to the Canadian Navy, although I thought it made them look like the Siberian Army – whiter than the ice!

      • Steve, thanks for the warning. Even though I had my recording set for 30 minutes over, I still missed the last 4 minutes because of the channel change. I have never heard of that before.

        • It’s very rare. It only happened because it was on the main NBC network channel instead of a sports-dedicated channel like NBCSN, they had the unexpected delay with the lighting failure, and it was time for Saturday Night Live in the Eastern time zone. Still annoying.

  8. Hi all – I had to write out the letters for THIRST, but the rest went quickly.
I love the knives instead of darts in the dartboard.
Only 12AM? Talk about calling it an early knight! Around here, they were recently debating whether to extend closing time from 2AM to 4AM.

Actually there were three knights in this party, but the horse one was riding on threw a shoe at the previous stop. He asked the owner there whether he could ride his big St. Bernard here instead, but he was so old and bedraggled the owner told him “I wouldn’t send a knight out on a dog like this.” (Rimshot!)

    Happy Sunday!

    • THREE DOG KNIGHT??? 🎶Joy to the world….🎶 Can you hear the groan from here???😂😂…I think that one may be older than us! 4AM And in NYC, then they serve you breakfast!
I really liked the Dart Board too, and I considered it for EYE candy…And that’s no BULL! Have a good one, Bud! ⚔🙋🏻

      • Oh excellent; groan indeed! You mean “Jeremiah was a BULL frog”?
You’ve set a high BAR with that one! 😂
There was a reason “mama told me not to come” here.

Wow, 4AM and breakfast? Sounds like “The Last Waltz” every night. 🙋🏻‍♂️

        • Good one! And that was music, right? BAR none! 😂 Breakfast, yes. Waltz, no…😂🙋🏻
Watching the Big 10 from the Garden. Lou 2 and 4 in the stands…Scanning these crowd shots…😉🙋🏻
