CGOEK –GECKO

LIDUF – FLUID

STARHH – THRASH

HANKES -. SHAKEN

CARTOON ANSWER:

AFTER BECOMING A TEACHER IN SLEEPY HOLLOW, THE HORSEMAN WAS – – -.

ECOFLDTHASSHAE = HEAD OF THE CLASS

Good Morning, Everyone!         🎃 “HEAD” MASTER? 🎃

🎶You go to my HEAD, and you linger like a haunting refrain…And I find you spinning round in my brain…like the bubbles in a glass of champagne…You go to my HEAD…🎶

🎃🎃 If I recall correctly, we’ve had at least two others
I like the Horseman very much, and if I had my druthers…
I’d ask the Guys for more of these…just to keep things aSHAKEN
(I’m gonna tell you all right now, that GECKO’s being forsaken)!
He rode through Sleepy Hollow, he THRASHed all those in sight..
But usually we only saw him riding through the night…
Yet here he has a day job, a teaching one at that…
The FLUIDity needed to teach, does our boy here begat?
I think he’s more well suited for the outdoors…fields and grass
‘Cause can he even hold a book while he’s HEAD OF THE CLASS?🎃🎃

So, today’s words. Even though we’ve seen them before, they’re not exactly jumping off the page, are they? Good anagrams today. Our cartoon. The David L. Hoyt Educational Foundation sponsors many interactive word and math games. David visited Sleepy Hollow, NY and played his games with Mr Dietz’s 6th grade class at the Sleepy Hollow Middle School. While this was going on, it looks like the Headless Horseman took over his teaching responsibilities. We see the Horseman standing in front of a board that looks like the basis for Dave’s Giant Jumble, AKA The Human Jumble game. Why these three students aren’t aware of what’s going on is a mystery to me. Maybe they were late that day…Anyway, our question asks what the Horseman was after becoming a teacher...HEAD OF THE CLASS! Pencils down, times up! Cute pun, Dave! Ok, eye candy. Besides the frightened looks on the children’s faces, the only thing catching my eye, is the series of letters on the lower right side of the board. It spells out KOBE. Is that Beef or Bryant? Both definitely worth enough to make your HEAD spin…Just Sayin’…

So, There you have it Folks, Done!
Have a great day, Everyone! And keep a good HEAD on your shoulders…Literally! 🎃🙋🏻

  1. Great post Angela, too bad I cannot give you 5 stars, heck I would give you 10! Solved the puzzle surprisingly quick for me but stumbled on GECKO & SHAKEN. Hello Sy, this is Guy…punch line to a very old joke!

    • Good Morning, Harry. How’d you do this? The ink wasn’t even dry! I didn’t even have enough time to pour the coffee and answer some of my Email!
Thank you so much, that’s very Sweet of you! Hold them on tap for me until the stars come out to shine again..! And I think the little green Gecko may cause a lot of SMH today…
Have a good one, Hoosier, and thanks again! 🙋🏻

    • Gecko also stumped me,but when I had the solution to the puzzle ,head of the class, and saw I needed a c e and o from the cgoek jumble, gecko popped into mind.

      • Good Morning, Chuck. Good to see you here. The creepy little Gecko’s getting under everyones skin today! And you too had the solve wrapped up before he came into view! Dave must be grinning…little 5 letter word causing so much HEAD scratching! Glad you stopped in…Don’t be a stranger…I hope to see you tomorrow. Have a great day… Ciao! 🙋🏻

  2. Good morning Angela. We’ll done,as usual. Icy out there, no paper as yet. Not that I blame him. Have a good day.

    • Good Morning, Big Guy. Thank you. I didn’t even get any puns in, couldn’t get the motor running today. The news is saying there’s so much ice all over. Very dangerous conditions. We’re still at 47° down here. But they keep saying the “deep freeze” is coming…Missing your Sports? Daily News has a two page spread on Patricia and the Jints. Good ink. If you can’t get it on line let me know and I’ll send you the links. Be careful out there…Ciao 🙋🏻

      • Worth waiting for, right? I love my paper too…Pour the ice tea, Big Guy, and enjoy!
        Talk to you later. 🙋🏻

  3. The quirky but FLUID motion of the GECKO left the farmer’s wife SHAKEN as she prepared to THRASH the rice.
Not sure why but SHAKEN gave me more than a little pause—no reason for not putting the SH together. I had solved the puzzle before it finally fell out of my rattled brain. Go figure.
I’ll check in later—have to investigate why my snowplow man has not arrived—perhaps he is waiting until the storm abates. Some shoveling to do on the stoop and sidewalk.

    • Good Morning, Earl. Great imagery with your sentence. I share the woman’s feelings. I hate the little crawly things. Hate lying out in the sun with my eyes open, but whenever we’re in Florida, I keep at least one pealed…creepy little guys sneak right up on ya! Then I end up with with a messed up face tan! 😂
I think Shaken will cause some pause today. It’s the way it’s anagrammed. Dave did a really good job with those 6 letters..
Good luck with the snow…I’m hearing some parts up by you are getting up to 15 inches..We’re being threatened down here. Lost 25° so far with the temp…Meteorologists all aflutter! They live for this crap! Be careful out there….Let me know how it goes…🙋🏻

  4. Good morning. Nice job Angela, liked the song you picked too. You and Earl are the “A” team of this group. Just can’t figure out which one is Hannibal and which one is Mr T. Was stuck for awhile on gecko and shaken had me stumped until I looked at the cartoon and knew immediately what the answer was.The clue was right there. Now knowing the letters I needed I finally got that last word. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. You so make me laugh! You’re a breath of fresh air every morning! Thank you very much. I love the song too…One of my favorites by Sinatra…(BMH). But then again, what isn’t? I adored the man. So, the A-Team. I’m good with that. I don’t know who Earl would rather, but I had the biggest crush on George Peppard. That cigar clenched in his teeth? Mesmerizing! 😂 But if I have a choice? I’ll go with Faceman Peck. And when the movie came out in 2010? And Bradley Cooper ❤️ played the role? Let’s just say… Or maybe it’s better left unsaid…! Gecko and Shaken are definitely the two HEAD busters today, you’re in good company. The solve ended up being much easier than the words. Have a good one, Bud! 🙋🏻

    • Angela and Paul– thanks for the kind words but I have to pass on which of those two characters to select. I know who Mr T is/ was and I have heard of George Peppard but never saw the tv show “The A-Team”. Any tv from 1970 to 1984 is a blank–out of the country and no television. But Peppard seems to have an elderly man’s distinguished look so perhaps I should opt for him.
Snowplow man arrived and I have shoveled. Haven’t heard the local weather report but we have nearly two feet and no unnecessary travel is advised. Very windy and cold, quite a change from yesterday. ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ 💨 🙄

  5. Two feet already? And was it just y’day you were talking Spring? Poor baby! Hunker down and relax…perhaps a good book and some Norah Jones? I had her on earlier this morning. She can so set the mood. Earl, did we speak about her Father being Ravi Shankar? I find that so fascinating! As for George Peppard…When he played the role, he was in his early 50’s. Distinguished, oh yes…but there was nothing elderly about that man! Trust me! And I do believe you should accept the role! 😉
Stay warm and cacoon..a perfect day for it! Talk to you later! 🙋🏻

  6. Blind solve and was on cruise control with the CWs until I lost my head over shaken. Had to stare at that one for awhile!

    • Lost your HEAD huh? Cute…Guess you could say the word SHAKEN was a HORSE of a different color…Have a good NEIGH, John..🙋🏻

  7. Hi all – I only got GECKO quickly because of the GEICO lizard commercial. The SH trick worked on SHAKEN, and then for an unusual occurrence, both the SH and TH worked in THRASH.

Boy, the pumpkin drawing on the wall is even scarier than the talking pumpkin head. “Hey kid, never you mind where Mr. Dietz is if you know what’s good for you. Now just ignore the thumping from under the floorboards, POE me another cup of coffee, and I’ll TELL you a HEART-stopping TALE.”

    • Hey Steve…Saturday, deep afternoon. What could be worse than the parking lot of a Home Depot? Being IN the Home Depot!!! I’m happy to wait out here! Sunshine, some SIRIUSly good music, and sights to boggle the mind…What could be better? 😂
Enjoyed 👏🏻 your pick up on Edgar Allen, but you do know we’re in Washington Irving’s backyard here, no? That NY man might cast a spell on you, and you’ll be aSLEEP for 20 years!! And then there’s always that RIPple effect! It’s SKETCHy….Better not to cause so much movin’ and aSHAKEN! Great puzzle, right? Have a good one, Bud! 🙋🏻

  8. Hi, all! I enjoyed doing today’s Jumble, feeling comfortable in the familiar-to-me surroundings of a classroom.
GECKO was easy for me because our girls loved seeing them on our front door glass in the evening and told us to be careful not to accidentally close the door on one.
SHAKEN but not stirred popped out fast.

I am thinking that it is incorrect of me to look for winter Jumbles in the winter because of having a lemonade stand & the Headless Horseman both in January and both very fun puzzles.

Paul, I answered your 8:30 p.m. post to me yesterday.

Steve, I have tonight’s Sharks/Coyotes game set to record.

    • Hi Lelia. I too found today’s puzzle to be a lot of fun. And a good cryptic shout out to Dave’s Foundation. Glad you enjoyed it! Have a great day! 🙋🏻

        • You’re welcome! You’re right…ALWAYS crowded, no matter what time of day or night…Nicest people, great merchandise, great prices, but ALWAYS crowded. I guess that’s why….
And all I wanted was a jelly donut! The humanity! Take care…🍩 🙋🏻

  9. Hi All – Great song choice, Angela.
My paper didn’t come early today because of the snow, so I looked at the online Jumbles. I didn’t like the Seattle Times because you have to get all the CWs before the answer boxes appear. I like to finish as quickly as possible and often back in. PostStar doesn’t do this, so I was able to back into SHAKEN.

    • Hey Caroline. Nice to see you. Thank you. Beautiful, haunting tune. One of the classic saloon songs, IMO. Personally, I swear by the Post Star only. In all the time I’ve used it, I’ve only found one error. Pretty good odds in my book. And it’s up by 3:15 each morning! Granted, no one’s as sleep confused as I am, 😂 but it’s a big selling point for me! And the fact that it enlarges with such clarity is another big perk. There’s no color, but I turn to my paper for that. I didn’t think SHAKEN would cause this much of a STIR today, but obviously it has. Who knew? How much snow did you get hit with? So far this winter’s proven to be right up there with the “best” of them, huh? Stay warm and dry, and good luck digging out! (And I’m secretly hoping someone in your NEIGHborhood builds a Snowman)!! Take care. Ciao! ☃ 🙋🏻

      • I think we got close to a foot of snow, but it wasn’t heavy. I’m about to venture out and will check for snowmen. Ciao to you and all!

        • That’s not too bad. Specially if it’s not that back-breaking “lead” snow…
Please be careful out there…and fingers crossed for the Snowman!
          Ciao, Bella! ☃🙋🏻

    • Hi Marti. By no means! It’s hardly a frequently seen word. And after this, I bet it’ll be a very long time before you’ll see it agian. As long as you enjoy doing the puzzle, a miss here or there doesn’t even count! Hope you have a great day! 🎃🙋🏻
