With your silent smile..I won’t talk to you for a couple of minutes…My little KOALA type bear, little KOALA type bear…🎶

🐨🐨 A couple on vacation just relaxing in the sun
Koalas spend a lot of time asleep, not on the run.
One wonders what they’re resting from, since all they really do
Is sleep 3/4 of the day..or do they Bill and Coo?
A person living life like this, quite INEPT would they be
But how good does a few days off sound now to you and me?
What IMPACT would it have on us, to just relax our bods…
I know that I’d be KNELT thanking the sleep-inducing Gods.
But we are not Koala bears, so dreaming does no good
And anyway a real good dream? Asleep, right? Understood.
I’m left with one word once again, NOTARY needs a rhyme…
But I need sleep, so I’m just giving you “KOALA-TY” TIME! 🐨🐨

Today’s words are nothing new, but NOTARY may have had us UP a TREE, and given one the desire to SIGN OFF  on this puzzle! But you know that’s not APPROVED by us…so just jot it DOWN UNDER Impact, and we’ll move on…
Our cartoon: KOALAS, on vacation. Dave, EU-CA-LYP-TUS all you want, but that word Marsupial? We knew! Yet I’ll admit, I’d BEARly looked at Jeff’s cartoon, and I said it! Koala “Bear“…🎶AUSSIE can you see…🎶 Ahem..Ok. The cartoon. The couple lounging in the sun, eating leaves and having a cocktail. I’m not BAMBOOzled into thinking it’s water, because they don’t drink water…Let’s just hope those drinks don’t make them POUCHy! And I’m a little emBEARassed  to mention this, but would you believe that Koalas have an extremely high rate of STDs? That Bill and Coo I mentioned earlier? Making a whole lot of sense right about now, huh? Just sayin’. Any…way!! We see them relaxing, and the dialogue is a hoot! “Take a nap”..! That’s all they do..Sleep! 16-18 hours a day! They could KOALAfy for one of those sleep studies, right? Ok, ok..So, our question? “Together to get some”? “KOALA-TY” TIME! Cute pun…almost as cute as these little Koalas! Ok, eye candy. I like the polka dot bikini. I like the little draw-string on the swimming trunks. I like the little umbrellas in the drinks…I absolutely love the Bamboo table! But I’m TILTING towards Jeff’s signature sailboat in the background. It always BUOYS my spirits!
So, There you have it, Folks, Done!

** After writing this up this morning, news came through about the car attack in Melbourne, Australia. My heart 💔 goes out to our Aussie readers, and to all those affected by one more senseless tragedy. Prayers for Australia. Prayers for Peace.

  2. The NOTARY was so INEPT he expected there would be no IMPACT on his reputation as he KNELT in confusion before stamping the document.
    No real problem today except those words with prefixes always slow me down! The solution, in spite of the pun quotation marks was no great challenge, given the koalas in the cartoon.
    Your posts were way above par today Angela–great job. Rather ironic that today’s puzzle would have an Australian theme given the awful news from Melbourne. Thoughts go out to those who were harmed.,

      I stressed for more than an hour over mentioning the STDs. I didn’t want to be offensive. And then I posted without my 🎶Paul McCartney lead-in🎶 So I had to go back and edit. And because of all that, I forgot the disclaimer I wrote up about what happened in Melbourne. So far a real top-notch morning for me!

  4. Good morning. Loved the words today. They all took a second look to get. As for the cartoon, well that was another story and In the holiday spirit I thought it would be better to receive then give so I looked at the answer. I just hate words with quotation marks. Until tomorrow stay well.

  5. But to be honest, yall….I almost thought that the Koalas were dropping “hints” about going to ‘sleep’ (Wink Wink)!!!! Especially when she was saying….”I was thinking the same thing.” Reminds me of some hints that me and the Hubster would send when trying to escape. !!!!!

  6. Hi everyone – I had to back into impact and notary plus check the spelling of koala. But the kn word didn’t fool me this time. Sadly, koalas are declining rapidly.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. I had to go back in and correct my Koala spelling about 3x’s! These double vowels! What’s up with that?
      And, KNeedless to say, you got that KN beat!
      I read that there’s such a serious issue with the STDs, that they’re considering killing off many of them in an effort to stem the ever increasing cases of infection. How sad, right? Have a great day. Be well 🐨🙋🏻

  8. Yes, it does, Harry. And they don’t drink water, because they’re easy marks for the predators that they’d encounter at ponds or rivers. So they subsist on tons of Eucalyptus leaves, which containing more than 50% water, fills the need. And they hang out in the trees all day…No pun intended.
    So. Next NAT GEO class at noon! Water will be served….

  11. No Angela. Been years since I eat there. My youngest sons friends father was a chef there years ago. I eat at New China Star,Noras,Oasis or Franks Pizzera besides a few others.

    • I love Brennan and Carrs. I try to go there whenever we’re in. That and Roll N Roaster. Go there? Love the place! New China Star? Is that the one on Flatbush Ave, like near Ave R? I like that place. Oasis, Coney Island Avenue, U-T? I haven’t been there in years. Italian? I still love Gsrgiulo’s in Coney Island. And there’s only one L&B. But there’s a fairly new restaurant on Avenue U, on the West Side. I don’t know if you “do” the West Side. Maybe off Lake Street? It’s fantastic. Food and ambiance to die for. You feel like you’ve left NY and went to Europe…I’m going to ask my cousin. He’s in there all the time…I’m hungry….😂🙋🏻

      • Last month coming back from a S.I funeral four of my kids and some grand kids stopped off at Roll N Roast. Oasis is Flatbush Ave and Quentin Road. C.I. west 15th Street between Surf Ave and Mermaid Ave Been there years ago. It never ceased to amaze me that there would be a line outside to get in and the hookers were stopping cars for a morning afternoon or night time delight. L and B just two weeks ago and once at Tre Fontaine.

          Oasis. Hmm. My memory is GRAINY…I don’t think I’ve ever been there. Gargiulo’s still gets the line at weekends, despite the valet parking! As for the “delights”..You know, I’ve never noticed. And I was NEVER approached! 😂 Not even once!!! Swear! 😂😂 It’s changed a lot there, all for the better…you must be talking a good number of years ago. L&B, I was there last month.Classic… And what do you think of Tre Fontaine? You know, Paul.   12. HI, all! Cartoon solve was instant for me because I taught a lot about koalas to my third graders. Had to back into all 4 words!!!!

    Here is a sentence that popped into my head using the DEFINITION of all 4 words but not the actual words. I’m sure this was inspired by Steve.

    The man who was incompetent in money matters got on his knees before the one who could officially sign, date, & stamp papers that would have a strong effect on his finances.

    • Hi Lelia. I think most of us got the solution today without KOALAing for help! It was a pretty easy solve! And the words were a TREEt! I like your sentence, but just what kind of dire straights could that man possibly be in, to bring him to his knees? And Steve inspired it? Hmmm This may just BEAR looking into!       • Hi, Angela, many times I have heard you say “inflection, inflection, inflection” and that is so very true!! I frequently wish I could say certain things on the phone with intonation rather than just writing it.

        I’m also frequently torn about how much detail to use. My first sentence talked about the man who had been so incompetent in financial matters that he needed help to straighten out the mess with his retirement income, but then I cut it to include basically the definitions of the words without much detail. I actually thought no one would care, so thank you for asking about my sentence.

        When I announced that my sentence would use only the DEFINITION of the words, an idea inspired by Steve who likes to play with the words in many different ways, I was hoping that the word DEFINITION in all caps would portray my intention but now I’m thinking I could have used more detail there, too. I was certainly not alluding to Steve’s financial situation. I assume his is like ours, having more stuff than we need and a healthy retirement income from working a lot of years.

        • H Lelia. Let me start by saying…”Boy have I managed to fit my size 8 securely into my mouth”! I had to go back and re-read my reply to you. I read too fast, write too fast, and try to juggle too many balls at one time. You explained yourself very clearly by specifying the Definition. I knew what you meant by Steve’s “inspiration”. I was just teasing you, (and Steve as always)! I was going to elaborate on my post also, by mentioning that Steve of all people wouldn’t be one to get anyone into debt…He waits until they’re giving away those T-shirts he speaks of! And as for the inflection, very true. Between the lack of it in writing, and my “Angela Speak” getting more and more clipped, I came across wrong. And I saw that I failed to include the 😂 face also, which carries a lot of weight. Trust me, it was not you. I did an hour of back and forth just this morning with a very literal man who constantly tells me to re-read what I email to him. I fear I’m causing him permanent, damaging whip lash from shaking his head so much at my writing!!!.😂😂 RE-read? I’m lucky I have the time to get it out there in the first place! 😂 So, please accept my apology, and please, no worries…I’m just rushed, and tired, and always going for the laugh…
          And Steve? No harm, no foul.

  13. Hi all – I suspected that evil ‘K’ lurking right away, so I tried it with the ‘N’. IMPACT took a bit of time until I tried the ‘I’ first, and NOTARY took the longest after rejecting ROTARY. Then when I realized they were Koalas and not Pandas, the solution was right there.

    I love “Bamboozled”, Angela! Where have all these great words gone?

    I’m amused to see that the cute Koala couple has also reached the stage that some of us have, when getting to take a nap can be considered “quality time” (yes, Lelia, I’m looking at YOU! 😂😂)

    I think I mistakenly posted this at the Autumnal Equinox, but who’s counting? (Well, I am.) Happy Astronomical Event Day! Growing up, I would celebrate with my cheerful yearly refrain, “First day of WINTER? I been freezin’ for three MONTHS ovah heah already!” (The days when my goal was to make it through the entire winter without slipping and falling on the ice. I achieved it once in 23 years.)
