Jumble Answers for 12/08/2017

Good Morning, Everyone! ย  ย  ย  ย ๐Ÿ“ฑ What’s APPening? ๐Ÿ“ฑ

๐ŸŽถAPPy days are here again, the skies above are clear again…So let’s sing a song of cheer again, APPy days are here again…๐ŸŽถ

๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ“ฑย JUST JUMBLE is an app I use, it’s free from my APP Store
It’s filled with Jumble puzzles, I just wish that there were more…
I tell my friends and family, it’s praises I do rave
Who doesn’t love these little gems we get from Jeff and Dave?
So many early mornings in pajama PANTS I sit
And go through way too many, mesmerized by Jumble wit…
Solutions are so clever, words PARADE through my mind
A better choice of word game you’d be hard pressed to find.
I feel puzzles bring UNITY, as answers you construct
(Trust me, it wasn’t easy rhyming this last word,ย INDUCT…)
It’s 4 AM, the puzzles done, once more sleep I elude..
My days begun, with coffee and my Jumble “APP-TITUDE”!๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ“ฑ

Words. I’ve been fascinated by them all my life. Their roots, their meanings, the way they rhyme. And being such a dedicated logophile, I practically cut my teeth on the Jumble…When I was very young, and at home sick with a VIRUS, I remember my Father bringing me a wooden horse. It wasn’t hollow, like a TROJAN HORSE, it was filled with little wooden blocks. And each block had a word. I remember some…SPIDER, (and you know how I feel about that WEB CRAWLER)!, WORM, BITย ROT. And it came with this little TUTORIAL. Needless to say, I became HYPER! TEXT and more text...O-S I was thrilled. And…Oh, sorry. I got a little lost there…I really have to work on getting this digressing out of my SYSTEM! So, let’s get on with COMPILing these words into a solution. Todays words all seem to be old favorites, although PANTS may be a breath of fresh air. If not the word, the anagram for sure. Ok, our cartoon. Hmm, who PROGRAMMED this? Jeff? DE little BUGGER! We see a man and a woman, and they’re not our usual suspects. They both have that distinctive look of “real” people, but I’m not sure who. Jeff, I leave it to you to ADD-ON a little post later and enlighten us. Ok, the woman is a Software developer. You can actually see the PROGRAM she’s writing up on the MONITOR. Great detail, Jeff. And we also see a tablet, and two smart phones being charged, all emblazoned with the Jumble logo! And both of our CHARACTERS are holding smart phones, with the JUST JUMBLE APP showing on the screens. Jumble RUNNING amok! Talk about a JUMBLEaya! The man is praising the woman for being able to so quickly CREATE the software, and the question tells us that she has a “natural” ability..She has a natural “APP-TITUDE“! HA! How SUITE is this? Great pun, Dave! FILE it under PGP! Pretty Great Puzzle! Well done, Guys! BOTย else can I say? Ok, eye candy…I’m going with the MOUSE. Only because it’s the only thing not reading “Jumble“. APParently it’s an oversight! ย So. There you have it Folks, Done!
Have a great day, Everyone! And I hope you get to APPreciate the JUST JUMBLE APP. DOWNLOAD it…WORDS alone don’t do it justice! ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  1. The newest way to INDUCT recruits is to have a UNITY PARADE featuring the latest in fashionable PANTS–skinny jeans!
The first word gave me pause—I suspect because I usually do not expect the answer to begin with the same letter that the scrambled word begins with—if you follow me??
So I kept trying sp words st words and finally came to PANTS. The others followed easily, as did the solution, although I was APPrehensive when I saw the inverted commas and expected a pun I wouldn’t get, immediately.
Challenging enough for a Friday and Angela you may go off on a tangent or two, but we all BYTE the bullet and enjoy the ride. Thanks for all you do.
Enjoy the weekend everyone and wish the winter weather away from your highways and byways..

    • ROTFL!! Good morning, Earl! BYTE the bullet?? It wasn’t such a tangent! He did buy me the horse, (Hence my love of horses), and some kind of word blocks, (Hence my love of words..), but ok, you got me, the words may have been different! But hey, I had to get all those programming terms in…I’ll just wait for Steve…He’ll appreciate my efforts! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ And there was a baseball glove, too, but I digress! ๐Ÿ˜‰ And, yes, I do see your point with PANTS. Worked up a sweat, huh? I wasn’t sure how to use it either….(Now THAT was a tangent)! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Your sentence, creative as always. Enjoy your day, Sir! ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

      • Good evening. Sometimes I wish the old days were here. Outside of about seven years at a different parish I’m in the same one that I grew up in. Back then on any given Sunday there would be a minimum of twelve to fifteen masses said from old church, new one and sometimes two schools. Six to eight priests, confession lines with at least four giving confession on a Saturday. Now there is one priest that hears it with ten people waiting after a Wednesday mass or on a Saturday. Today was a holy day of obligation. “Immaculate Conception” and since I had to be in class from 8:30-3:30 I was unable to find a mass that I could go to from four different churches. Since it’s Friday there was no mass before 12:00. None in the afternoon. Thought there was one yesterday at 5:30 but they were closed when I got there. There are way more people but less going to church. There is only three masses on a Sunday. I started to do jumble this morning but was stuck on the six letter words and had to rush out for driver education course to save money on insurance. I sat down a little while ago and those words that seemed so hard just came to me. Even the cartoon was a breeze. Until tomorrow stay well.

        • Hey Paul. I hate hearing you sound so down. You did your best to get to a Mass today, you can’t beat yourself up over it. You even tried last night. You’re a good man. My Church had 7:30 last night, 7 and 9 this morning, and 7:30 again tonight. Pretty accomadating for most people. I think we all wish the old days were here. For a lot of different reasons. I agree with you on the Masses and the attendance. Look at how many parishes have been closing over the years, right? Sad, but that’s the reality of it. But without people like you, even more would be closing…So, after all my preaching, do you feel like you’ve been to Mass now? Just teasing you! Ok, The puzzle!!! You couldn’t see it this morning, because you were stressed between the thought of Mass, and worrying about getting to the drivers ed class. Tonight you were your good old self. Don’t be so hard on yourself, you done good, Brooklyn…
I hope you have a great night, my Friend. See you trow! ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  2. Hi all – I first came up with earpad. When I went looking for another p to make app, I found parade instead. Got a kick out of the APPy Days song, Angela.

    • Good morning, Caroline. How’re you? I’m HEARing you with the EARPAD, although I think PARADE does STAND up better! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Glad you enjoyed ๐ŸŽถAPPy Days๐ŸŽถ. It got stuck in my head so bad, I think I may have been humming it at Mass!
Wishing you a APPy Day! ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

      • I’m doing fine, thanks, and hope the same is true for you and everyone. I thought earpad fit the computer cartoon better than parade.

        • Caroline, I think it’s a fine word! And I probably would’ve have had an easier time working it into my poem too! ๐Ÿ˜‰ And thanks you, I’m doing well also.
          Take care. ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  3. Really clever puzzle this morning. I was very apply to solve it all without difficulty. Angela, I love the Jumble App too but have solved all the current puzzles and am anxiously waiting for new ones. Jeff has another app “Just Two Words” but I don’t like that one as well. I’ve recently downloaded “Word Connect” which is fun but my preference is still “Just Jumble”, though I imagine it’s very labor intensive to create. Happy Friday to all.

    • Good morning, Betty. I too found the puzzle delightful! I just wish I knew who the people were. Maybe Jeff will clue us in. Speaking of Jeff, please don’t mind me saying, but it’s Dave who created “Just Two Words”. And while doing some of them, I had just two words in mind for him also! ๐Ÿ™„ Some of them are killers, right? I think it may be the accompanying photos, sometimes they’re really a stretch! (And Earl talks about me going off on a tangent)! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I, too have finished all the “Just Jumble” puzzles. I just can’t seem to pace myself, I’m like a dog with a bone with them! I love the bonus words, I race against the clock! Hopefully we’ll have some new ones soon. I’m going to download “Word Connect”. Thanks for the suggestion! Have a APPy Day! ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  4. Hi all – INDUCT took an extra look because the UN trick didnโ€™t work, but PANTS actually took the longest because I had to get STAMP out of my head.
I took the picture to be a father and daughter, and the only thing I kept noticing was that with all the modern tech, she still had a wired keyboard.

Angela – I do APPreciate the programming terms, but what I like more is your mentioning a love of language. It reminds me of Joni Mitchell (I know, what doesnโ€™t?) and the note she put on her first record; โ€œThis album is dedicated to Mr. Kratzman, who taught me to love words.โ€

    Have a great day everyone.

Mike, John or anyone interested – This is an amazing account of yesterdayโ€™s Pearl Harbor remembrance aboard the USS Hornet in Alameda in SF Bay:

    • Aren’t you the sweet talker! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thank you. As I’ve said before, I owe it all to my Father. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’” But I didn’t call Him Mister! You know, I thought a father and daughter also, but I shied away from it, because there are plenty of May-December romances out there. I just couldn’t be sure.Judgement call. No harm, no foul.
Good article on Pearl Harbor. Thanks! Talk to you later. Ciao. ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  5. Okay, Angela, from your lips to God’s ears. I just received a notice that there are new Jumble Puzzles. So run, don’t walk to update your app. But, like you, once I get started I can’t put them down. You are correct that the Two Words is David’s creation. Sometimes I just haven’t a clue what the picture is supposed to represent so can’t get too enthusiastic about it.

    • LOL..You mean despite the fact that I was humming “๐ŸŽถHappy Days”๐ŸŽถ during Mass? He still heard me? ๐Ÿ˜‰ This is great news! I can’t wait to get to them! Thanks so much for telling me. I had stopped looking (We won’t talk about the pictures)!
      Have a great day! ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  6. Hi, all! I thought the girl in the cartoon was working at her office desk with the man being her boss. I decided I wouldnโ€™t know what she had that made her so computer proficient because I am still in the beginnerโ€™s category of computer knowledge.

All four words came quickly even with looking first at โ€œunโ€ as did Steve before the โ€œiโ€ jumped out for INDUCT.

I wrote the letters in a nice neat row with no expectations but saw โ€œaptitude,โ€
changed it to โ€œpap-titudeโ€ and then APP-TITUDE even though I do not know what an APP is or how to download one. I need smiling faces & musical notes.

Good eye, Steve, noticing the wired keyboard.

    • That’s a different take, Lelia. Employer, employee. I don’t know why it just looked like there was an air of familiarity in the frame. And we know THATS not going on in the workplace anymore! Or in the senate anymore. Or in filmdom anymore…Or in…๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ The list is endless, right?
You may enjoy this article: Have a good night! ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  7. Angela, Thanks for your comments. I agree with familiarity in the frame and lack of it in the workplace. However, when she told him that she’d always loved games on her phone, I thought that was something her dad would already know but she might tell her boss. What do I know? I’ve been out of the workplace a long time!!
Thank you very much for the App site. I copied the first 3 pages by the author, Anita, and another one of comments. Reread the 7th comment by a Steve and tell me if you think that sounds like our computer savvy Steve.

    • Lelia, I actually had to go back and look at it again. I haven’t seen it since 3:30 this morning, and I’m lucky if I recognize the kids in their school pictures after all these hours! IDK what to make of it. It wasn’t me who picked them to be a father and daughter. I took them to be a couple, with the man being older. And once again, I feel so strongly that the people in the drawing are based on actual people Jeff knows. So I’m lost here. (And to think, people do the Jumble just to get the words)! ๐Ÿ˜‚ As for the commenter sounding like Steve? I have no idea. I don’t discuss technology with Steve. I copied the comment here. Let’s let him decide…
STEVE? You have the floor…๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m glad you enjoyed the article, Lelia. ..Be well..๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

Your description of a web app is synonomous with cloud based software (e.g google docs), which is not what an app is.

I would describe a web app as a piece of browser specific integrated software that will allow you to access some cloud based software. It allows the software to be more integrated with that specific browser than any old internet link would allow I believe through installing some of the aesthetics on the computer itself while using the internet to run the actual brains of the software.

      • You sure are right about taking this far beyond just getting the Jumble words! I just used to use an anagram solver if I got stuck, and that was that.

To tell the truth, that app quote is a bit beyond me. The stuff I did at work was all dedicated commercial software on servers and programs running on PCโ€™s rather than applications running on phones and tablets etc. I only got an iPad shortly before I retired, so I donโ€™t know too much about the inner workings of the new stuff. And the hairs that the guy in the quote are splitting seem pretty esoteric. I think his โ€œweb appโ€ and our ordinary apps are different, but again, not an expert in that.

        • I know, right? I mean, I always studied the pics, but now, we’re counting pixels!!!!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I didn’t think you were that familiar with apps, it’s a whole new world out there. Every single day! There’s a new commercial, for a tablet, I don’t know which, I only saw it once, but this young tween I think is shown using it for different purposes, and then he’s in his yard, and a woman neighbor asks him what he’s doing on his computer…And the kid says, “What’s a computer”? And there you have it, right? DONE! I have to watch it more closely the next time it comes on…But what a statement…๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

          • I love that commercial! Itโ€™s on Youtube and itโ€™s for iPad Pro. Says volumes about how ubiquitous this has all become. Soon theyโ€™ll be implanted! I was lucky that the pace of tech change was slow enough to let me make it to retirement – that wouldnโ€™t happen today. ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

            • You’ve seen it? I know we don’t always get the same commercials. How cool is that, right? I agree. Things move so fast. You should see the kids and how they know so much. The littles! I listen to them talk to one another, and I can’t help but think that if we don’t keep up, in a few years we won’t even be speaking the same language! Totally amazing!
Have a good night, Grasshopper. See ya on the flip! ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป
