CARTOON ANSWER:

HE TOLD THEM THAT HE GREW GREAT COFFEE, BUT HE WAS – – –

SNEFLABOFLU = FULL OF BEANS

Good morning everyone and happy Wednesday!  The clue words have been outstanding so far this week with today’s group continuing the trend.  It’s not that they were overly difficult, instead they were fresh words that were well jumbled.  With that being said, SINGE was the only word to slow me down today.  At first glance I thought it might be “GENUS” but I knew it didn’t have an I in it.  With a little more staring the answer made itself visible and I was off to the cartoon.

I thought the man on the left was sneezing at first, but after reading the dialogue and sentence it was apparent that he was spitting out some really bad brew.  The bean queen has a mean look on her face as she not so subtly reminds the coffee farmer that his lot has already been rejected once.  The laid-back appearance and aura of confidence exuded by the farmer was captured perfectly by Jeff and was my favorite part of the drawing.

The cartoon answer was a quick solve after writing out the clue letters.  OF was my guess for the 2-letter word and FULL came into view next.  BEANS was all that was left to cap off this Jumble gem.  I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday and I’ll see you tomorrow!  😊

  1. Good morning, Mike. Great! Right on point, (and we’re seeing eye to eye again)! 😉
I’m apologizing before time, my post is long. I’m blaming it on the CAFFEINE!
And the song bit’s for Earl. I’m hoping it makes him smile today…☕️🙋🏻

  2. 🎶Way down among Brazilians, COFFEE BEANS grow by the billions, So they’ve got to find those extra cups to fill…They’ve got an awful lot of coffee in Brazil…🎶

☕️☕️I’ve SINGEd my fingers many a time, The BLOTCHes can attest
Results of reaching for that cup before it’s at its best.
I’m always mixing different blends, my canisters lined up
Upon my coffee station FLANKed by all my favorite cups.
A coffee snob I’ve oft been called, it really doesn’t matter
I’m just as serious ’bout my brew, as a baker is his batter.
As much as I love cooking, proud of culinary delights
    I FLAUNT my coffee prowess…Touch my beans? You’ve got a fight!☕️☕️

So, another Jumble, the fun part of our daily GRIND. Let’s give it a SHOT. Looking at today’s words, DRINKING it all in, I’m wondering…Have they all BEAN used before? Either way, the letters are BLENDED just right! Ok, let’s go FROTH to our cartoon. Now this PERKED me right up! Jeff takes us to a COFFEE plantation, a Grower atTEMPting to sell his BEANS to a couple. But, uh oh, there’s some PRESSure here, and trouble’s BREWing! She’s like, “What’s SUMATRA with you? You trying to MILK us out of our money? MACC, IATO do better than this! We’ve BEAN through this with you before. What do you think, our money GROWS on TREES”? And there’s BITTERness in her voice, rightfully so. He’s trying to pass off his inSIPid BEANS as a better, more expensive BLEND. Only, they’re not KONA have it! Notice the look on the guys’ MUG? That’s no LUKEWARM reaction, his face is PUCKered up! I think he’s about to have a TAMPER tantrum! Trust me, by whatever BEANS necessary, they intend to get what they’re paying for. This Grower is trying to PULL a fast one, and they’re ESPRESSOing their opinion. BOTTOM line, this Grower is…”FULL OF BEANS”! AU LAIT! AU LAIT! What a pun! Good job, Dave, you’ve URNed my respect once again! So, eye candy. Jeff, DECANT catch you today! You’ve given us a LOT to choose from! We have sacks of BEANS, and an AIRPOT with a tiny DRIP. Great detail. We have the buyer spitting out the terrible coffee. We have coffee trees in the backGROUND. And we have the Grower with his man bun and his beard tied UMBER his chin. Yea, I’ll go with him…So, there you have it Folks! Done!
Have a great day, Everyone! And if you’re a ProCAFFEINEator like me, putting things off because there’s a LATTE on your mind…Pour that second cup anyway. And…Don’t worry, be FRAPPE! ☕️🙋🏻

  3. Good morning. “Oh my God”. We must be connected spiritually. My exact words. I’m having fun of course but for me singe was the hardest of all the words. When it came time for the cartoon answer I too had to put the letters down. The answer came quickly. If you look closely you can see beans in one of the guys hands giving us a hint to the answer besides all those bags of beans. Can you read my mind as to what is coming next Until tomorrow stay well. Now that I’m done I’ll go back and read Angela’s bio.

    • Hey Paul. Good morning! What’s coming next?
It’s BEAN a pleasure? Jack and the BEANstalk? This don’t amount to a hill of BEANS? 🎶I’ve BEAN loving you too long🎶? (You are an Otis Redding fan). BEAN there, done that? BEAN down this road before….? This is a lot of good material, Paul…But, Whatever you’re thinking just might be unBEANknowest to me altogether! Help me out here…🙋🏻

      • Angela you’ve bean outstanding today. Had me jumping like the jumping beans. Remember them when we were kids. They would move around in your hands. But that’s not it. When I did the puzzle and logged on and saw Mikes entry, it was what I was thinking, remembering the school girls when they were in tune with someone they would say “Oh my God” were so alike. Just got me to chuckle a bit. Just got back from the doctors again today. Yesterday was the F/U with flu shot and today was stress test.

        • Hey Paul. Thank you. You know you always make me laugh. Good thing the stress test was before you were jumping around here! Be well, my Friend. Have a great night. 🙋🏻

  4. Hi, all! Solved the cartoon quickly because noticing that the word BEANS was not in the dialog or sentence, I chose it immediately for the 5-letter word. The other 2 words were instant for me because FULL OF BEANS is an expression I use.

Maybe it has something to do with the teeny, tiny black & white Jumble in my newspaper, but the farmer selling his beans looked to me like the villain in a story who prefaces his comments with a sinister “Hey hey hey.”

Didn’t have trouble with the clue words but wasted some time before solving FLAUNT by noticing that the letters spelled “unflat” and sat there playing with sentences in my head about being glad that all 4 of my tires are unflat as I’m going to the store today.

  5. I figured out the cartoon answer first and worked backwards but agree that singe was the one word that took me the longest to solve. The clue words have been fun this week. Have a Happy Wednesday everyone.

    • Hi, Betty! I have popped around your sweet, perky comments all day saying dumb things and wondering why I’m not getting my work done, so I want to take another minute to say that I loved your today’s comments and hope YOU had a Happy Wednesday.

  6. The general was known to FLAUNT his ability in attacking the FLANK of the enemy but his whiskers received a SINGE and his record got a BLOTCH when he was attacked by a direct cannon barrage.
No problems solving clue words or the solution today, just more grief in trying to access this blog and posting anything. I am on the verge of quitting.
Before I leave, a criticism of the cartoon–coffee trees are grown in the shade of larger trees, traditionally. Newer varieties are grown close together and In rows, these trees look nothing like the real thing.

    • Hey Earl. Don’t get discouraged. A few of us have been down the same road.
It wouldn’t be the same without you. Hang in there, ok? You know I enjoy my morning coffee with you…Be well, kind Sir.☕️🙋🏻
And your sentence, although a tad reflective of your mood…Still a gem! 😘

      • Thank you and I appreciate the fact that my sentences amuse or bemuse you– whichever applies. No promises about the future. We’ll see

    • Earl, if I had a nickel for every time I’ve wanted to quit, throw in the towel, or cry uncle I’d be rich. Hope you give it another chance, “hang in there, baby,” or sleep on it.

However, I think your sentences should not be a daily grind but something you do when you think of one you like without putting so much time in on them. If you keep on doing such a daily & excellent job of them, we are going to have to increase your pay.

      • Leila– Thank you for your sincerity and encouragement. You have much more patience than I will ever have. Coming up with a sentence or solving the clue words and the puzzle is not frustrating and not a chore. I tend to be a regimented character and want things to be as expected. When circumstances interrupt the usual flow, I’m not a happy camper. I’ll try to be more flexible but when it comes to technology , I’m more of an old oak than a willow.

  7. Hi, Steve! Last night I was quickly scanning magazines and recycling them before our house became a fire hazard and found what I call a “guy joke” like the comment you made about the ringmaster who wanted to remove the net from under the inept acrobat who kept falling into it. You said at least he wouldn’t have to fire the guy if he kept falling.

Ron: How do I get to the nearest hospital around here?
Don: Close your eyes, walk into the street, and they’ll come get you.

Steve, I can’t think of the name of a villain who says, “Hey, hey-hey!”

    • Hi Lelia. Sometimes those old dumb jokes are the best, especially if you’re in the right frame of mind. How else to explain The Three Stooges? I don’t have a clue as to your villain, though. Have fun shopping and 🎵”Listen to the Music”🎵 while you’re there.

      • Hi, Harry. My spelling got in the way of what I was trying to say. I remember the fun “hey hey hey” of Fat Albert. I can’t figure out how to spell the sinister sounds that the villain makes 3 times.

      • Hi, Paul! I have looked up Dick Dastardly and Simon Bar Sinister, the wickedest man in the world and Snidely Whiplash, all of whom have sinister laughs but none of them are what I think I remember, with “THINK I remember” being the operative words. Thank you for trying to help me. Trusting my memory at my age is not the smartest thing for me to do.

  8. Hi all – FLAUNT took an extra look, but my dreaded “third word” took the longest and was the most interesting. The only song I can think of where it appears is in that Great American Songbook classic, “The Blob”, performed by the group named, by some amazing coincidence, “The Five Blobs”:

🎵”Beware of The Blob, it creeps
and leaps
    And glides and slides
 across the floor
Right through the door and all around the wall

    A splotch, a BLOTCH

Be careful of The Blob”🎵

Now thanks to songfacts.com, I was astounded to learn:

“This was written by Burt Bacharach and Mack David (Hal’s brother) for the 1958 horror movie The Blob, which was the first big role for Steve McQueen. This became Burt Bacharach’s first significant hit as a composer. He went on to write many famous songs, including “I Say a Little Prayer” and “What The World Needs Now Is Love.”

And “Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head”, “Do You Know the Way to,San Jose” and literally hundreds of others.
I guess everyone has to start somewhere! Have a great day.

  9. Hi, Steve! Yup! I am about to freeze to death in these 80 degree temps. Thanks for caring. Might have to get my silk long johns back out.

I told Earl the other day that I liked his sentence with references to Jack & the Beanstalk and Jack Be Nimble because I had read them to my children & grandchildren. But I want you to know that I taught them a lot of other important things, also.

I was the first to tell them that when they burp at the table and their mother asks, “What do you say?” the correct reply is, “Not bad manners, just good food.” I also taught Jessica to burp the alphabet.

I taught them in a restaurant to blow their straw paper across the table or crumple the paper tight together on the straw, take it off, & drop a few drops of water on it to make it look like a worm.

I taught the boys to put one hand under the other armpit but to check with their dad to learn to make the sound really loud.

Last, I taught them to take a long string of glue off of something in the junk mail. place one end of it just inside their nose, and go tell mom they need a tissue.

I LOVE the songs What the World Needs Now and Raindrops so much that it does not compute in my head that Burt Bacharach had anything to do with The Blob.

At lunch when I stood under a speaker & my daughter asked me what I was doing, I told her I was trying to recognize the name of the song so I could tell Steve. At least I enjoyed the song.
