Good Monday morning my friends and welcome back to another week of Jumble fun!  Monday puzzles tend to be on the easier side and today was no exception.  All of the words came instantly today with no hesitation whatsoever.  The way that David paired the two S’s in SWISH may have thrown a few folks off so I’ll make that my pick for the most difficult anagram to solve.  Moving along to the cartoon, there were only a few visual clues to help with the solve.  The lightning bolt emblazoned on the gentleman’s hats as well as the side of the vehicle and the toolboxes were all I needed to see to figure out that they were electricians.  Reading the dialogue and sentence gave me more than enough for the solve and I wrote out the clue letters just to make sure I was correct.  Have a wonderful Monday and I’ll see you tomorrow!

    They nod their heads and always know when we say this or that:
    “I crossed the red one with the blue, the yellow went in place…”
    They try to keep from laughing, and maintain a stoic face.
    ‘Cause after we’ve exhausted all the means we think we know
    We call on our electricians, so that the juice can flow.🔌🔌

    Back on 10/05, Dave BLEW Whoosh by us, and today he HITs us with SWISH. Nothing SHOCKing about it, just that these words that make sounds always seem to aFUSE me. Our other words today are old favorites, although SHREWD has a shrewd spelling, no matter how you TWIST it! So, our cartoon. Two Electricians starting their day without the COIL! REVOLTing! You need the coil! Personally, I’m DRAWN to electricians; I have a few in my family, and I dated one a while back. Nice enough guy, seemed GROUNDED, I admit I was TURNED ON. Things were ok, until one night when he comes walking in at 4AM. I’m like, “WIRE YOU INSULATE”? And he says, “WATT’s the big deal, I’m OHM now aren’t I”? Well, ExFUSE me! Can you imagine how that HERTZ, and the FRICTION it caused? There was some HIGH TENSION after that. TBT, I think he may have been out with some STRIPPERS on the CIRCUIT. WATTever, nothing seems to SHOCK me anymore. But, suSPLICE to say, we CURRENTly don’t speak. And there’s no reMORSE either, ANODE the SPARK was gone. Ah, sorry…I had a SHORT SMELTdown there. I guess I just needed an OUTLET to VENT. Anyway, back to our cartoon: Some confusion between the two, the missing COIL, which is WIRE we’re here in the first place…and…they got their “WIRES CROSSED”! POWERful pun, Guys, I’m ecSTATIC! So, Eye candy. We’ve got the LIGHTning BOLTS, we’ve got a STEAMing cup of coffee, we got adorable tool boxes. Hmm. I’m ALTERNATEing between them. Oh, wait… My eyes are making CONTACT with the cigarette in the electricians’ hand. SOHMthing you hardly see anymore, right? With all the RESISTANCE towards smoking? I’m SWITCHing to that. So, there you have it, VOLTS! This puzzle was a real JOULE, don’t you think? I found it deLIGHTful!

      • Even though we had to plead to not get locked up for being on the greens with the cart. That’s not the reason I never tried it again. If there is anything to hit a ball with,l am all for baseball. It’s fast paced Golf is slow. Who wants to say “hello ball” everytime when you can say “bye bye ball” when you smack it. At least hopefully. Always liked running compared to walking. Gets you there faster.

  5. Good morning. Today’s puzzle was solved the same way as yesterday. Object was my Achilles heel. All the other words and the cartoon answer were an instant read. Seeing the “w” in the letters gave away the solution. Now knowing the letters I finally got the last word.An easy word like Sunday too.
    Angela does everybody have to click on yesterday’s puzzle then scroll all the way down to the calendar and hit the day of the week to get the blog. This is going on a second week now. Then to go back to it later on I have to do the same thing all over. Until tomorrow stay well.

  6. Funny Paul….Just how drunk were you to drive across a green? I know courses where you would have been shot! Angela, I said I found watching baseball boring, I played as a youngster and in High School and loved it, third base. I played industrial slow pitch until I got too old and fat( not necessarily in that order). Also, as an adult there were multiple coolers stocked, not unlike Paul’s golfing experience. As to watching golf vs baseball, I have watched games for stretches of 20 minutes and all I saw was a man throwing a ball to another man and an occasional bat fouling it or popping out. At least in watching golf, the camera is constantly switching to different golfers on different holes making a shot. In that same 20 minutes one can see 50 to 75 shots.

    I saw a show on football where they showed only the action parts of different games and wondered if they ever tried that for baseball. I would watch that. As a kid growing up in Southeastern Indiana, I never had a team to root for. Chicago was worlds away and Cincinnati, well I could not spell it!

    • One time the Detroit Tigers invited some of the Red Wings’ Russian hockey players to a ball game. One of them commented afterward, “Do they even have to take showers?”

      • Steve, One night during the hockey playoffs, I said that the announcers were bored and had nothing to talk about and you said…But you put an uncle in it if I’m not mistaken,,,,? 😉😉🙋🏻

    • Harry, Yes I do recall you telling me about playing in High School. Also having a baseball card of a player sharing your last name. (And I’m not touching THAT one)! And yes, I remember Bill being there, too.
      You’re referring to HighLIGHT reels, where you see the best of the best. Yes, I can see you enjoying that a lot more than a whole game. Baseball is slow, but you learn to appreciate the aesthetics of it. Same like golf, I suppose. And I guess it all just boils down to what one loves, and how one’s raised. Growing up, we ate, slept and being Italian, ate again when it came to baseball. We never watched golf. And you have mentioned that top notch Indiana school system, so I guess that covers the spelling..!
      See, I don’t just say Hi to you, I pay attention….😉🙋🏻

      • Close Darlin’, close. He shared first and last name and he signed a baseball for me. Alas, the ink all faded after 20 years so it is just a baseball. And mentioning school systems, back then the 3-Rs in Kentucky were readin’, writin’ and Route 31 North! Some may have to look at an atlas to get that one!

        • I hate close…Maybe I better pay CLOSEr attention! 😉 Well, at least I’m in the ballpark…PUN intended! I got the school system wrong too, huh? It was Kentucky? Da-n! I’m definitely not batting 1000, PUN intended again….For me growing up in Brooklyn, the 3Rs stood for Readin’ Writin’ and Rollin’ with the punches! It was a tough neighborhood!
          Route 31 North? I’ll need some DIRECTION with that one! 😂🙋🏻

  7. The model was very SHREWD when she allowed her DRESS to SWISH discernibly on the runway and she became the OBJECT of the critics’ interest.

    Easy word and puzzle solve today and the J in OBJECT gave me no trouble.
    I am volunteering, so when I finish my shift I’ll post more.

  8. Hi all – instant solve. I too was surprised to see the cigarette, but I hope he turns his hand around before he takes a drag, since the lit end is pointing at his mouth!

    Caroline – Now the Jumble guys are just messing with you, having a word with its ‘J’ in middle. At least the OBJECT wasn’t a BANJO.

    Lelia – Hoping you see this cartoon and that Jerry the electrician can appreciate it.

    • Steve, I thought about object, too, but of course it’s too soon to be intentional. I was wondering if the guys can ever make last minute changes, which they might have wanted to do with the firewood jumble in light of the raging California fires.

      Object made me also think of abject and reject, so I guess plenty of words have J in the middle. Lelia’s mention of all the J names in her family made me realize that many names start with J, including some of the most popular.

  10. Nothing much to add other than Thank You for those pointing out the cigarette—never noticed it and had to go back and check it out. This from a former smoker—-free of that for 40 years. One of the best things I ever did, IMHO.
    Great Poem Angela and your puns are as usual the object of some envy, some echhh, and some egads.
    All kidding aside, well done

  11. Hi, all! As soon as I post, I’m off to take a 4-hour nap until dinner because we were told to be at the hospital by 6:30 a.m., which we were, but didn’t get called back for prepping until almost 10 a.m. After an hour of prepping, Jerry’s surgery took 15 minutes, and now he’s awake & fine. We’ll get the biopsy report next Tuesday.

    Mike, enjoyed your solve explanation & cartoon description with details. I used your new technique twice, as I said I would, but this one was immediate for me.

    Denny, my hardest word was SHREWD, and again I blame my spelling skills or lack of same.

  12. Steve, thank you for your shout-out to me that today’s Jumble was about electricians like Jerry. No paper before we left at 5:30 and none when we got home. Couldn’t find the Jumble online, so I bought another paper at the grocery store.

    Question: With the letters BETOCJ, were we supposed to fill in the word OBJECT meaning “a thing” or the word OBJECT meaning “to disagree with something?” I hope I filled in the correct one.

      OBJECTively speaking, I don’t think I’m qualified to answer your question – I’m still pondering BANJO. 😀
