BRRDNEMEUASWYEED – DAYS WERE NUMBERED

Good morning, Everyone!………CALENDARS! 🎢THOSE WERE THE DAYS…🎢

🎢”I love, I love, I love my CALENDAR girl, Yeah sweet calendar girl. I love, I love, I love my calendar girl…Each and every day of the year..MARCH – I’m gonna march you down the aisle…”🎢

Art imitating Life…Do you remember two weeks ago, on August 18th, when Mike gave a shout out re: the 2018 Jumble Calendar? Well, if that didn’t spur you into action, here’s another reminder! And Mike was even able to BROKER a little deal with the publishers for us. So, no more WEEK excuses, Friends, …Seize the DAY!

Ok, our words today: Pretty DECENT group, ACTUALly, especially for a SUNDAY! Easy, breezy, returning favorites! So, let’s TURN the PAGE and get to our cartoon! The Jumble Calendar Factory. There’s a desk, with one of those NUMBER CALENDARS showing today’s DATE. Pretty clean desk..I guess he’s not SWAMPYed with work. We have the fork lift driver, whose hat looks like a HELMET. Ladies, you know that’s going to do a NUMBER on her hair! We have the under enthusiastic “Dolly Man”..(he’s not a jolly man). We have the distributor, voicing concern over the dwindling NUMBERS, and we have our PUBLISHer, who has a phone in one hand, and a tablet in the other…all the while saying…”Everyone’s using a tablet and a phone”. Talk about Life imitating Art! Come on…Put your money where your mouth is! Charity begins at home! Teach by example!…Trust me, I’ve got ONE for every DAY! So, what should we TAKE AWAY from this? How do we settle this Factory’s disMAY? What message is being conDAYed here? Bottom LINE? Sales were down, it’s DAYS WERE NUMBERED! Ok, let’s be honest. This has to be one of my WEEKest efforts. I’d be JULYing if I said it was easy…(See what I mean)? I’m just going to CUT my LOSSES and go for the EYELID candy…(It’s a sickness, I know…).

The full sized calendar the distributor is holding? MARCH, 2018..with a Jumble puzzle and a pic of our Dolly Man. I MAY have chosen a different picture, I mean look at that MONDAYane expression….(Give it up, huh)?

Ok, I’m calling it a DAY. It’s been a long WEEK. And besides, I have a lunch DATE at TWELVE, and I have to be on TIME…Have a great SUNDAY, Everyone!

And let’s all COUNT our blessings. πŸ—“ πŸ™‹πŸ»

Prayers πŸ™πŸ» for Harvey’s victims.

  1. Not blinking an EYELID, the BROKER donned a diving suit and HELMET to get an ACTUAL look at the SWAMPY area and set a DECENT sale price.
Three vowels in ACTUAL gave me grief today and I tried to solve the puzzle without those letters and wanted it to be “days were limited” but that didn’t work, obviously. Had another cup of coffee, stared at the letters and finally saw “actual.”
Gloomy Sunday, weather wise and otherwise so I guess I’ll just hibernate and wait for the US Open to begin and hope the miasma melts away.🌧 ☹️ 🎾

    • Good morning, Earl. I’m watching “This Week With George Stephanopoulos”, and I have to say my gloom’s coming from there. The rain and chill here is paling in comparison. Sorry..Just one of those days! Once again, your imagination amazes me! The range of subject matter is unbelievable…You are truly blessed with the “Golden Tongue”! It’s a perfect day to hibernate…I have so many places to be today, and all I want to do is put a pillow over my head and hide out! Maybe trow! Hoping your day gets brighter…on all levels! Be well. πŸ—“πŸ™‹πŸ»

      • Right. Glad I’m not alone in the “gloom and doom” department, but as Scarlett said: “Tomorrow is another day,”

        • Yes, she did. And she also said, “As God is my witness, as God is my witness, they’re not going to lick me. I’m going to live through this…” I keep that in mind…
One of my favorite movies. Clark Gable? It’s a family blog….
          🎢Keep your sunny side up..l🎢 πŸ™‹πŸ»

    • Great sentence, Earl, and you gave me an addition to yesterday’s phrase – a MELTING MIASMA of MANGY MAGENTA MAGMA!

  2. Good puzzle this morning. I got the cartoon answer right away and worked backwards. For some reason eyelid always gives me pause but I did get it after a few minutes pondering the letters. We’re cooking here in San Francisco. It was over 100 degrees yesterday, the hottest I an ever remember it. We actually were hotter than Phoenix which surely must be a first. Our homes are not air conditioned so I’m praying to hear those good old foghorns again though I don’t think it is going to cool off soon. Have a good Sunday everyone.

    • Hi Betty. Good morning. We’ve missed you! I thought for sure you’d be here y’day with the shoe puzzle! We just had eyelid quite recently, so I was surprised to see it again so soon. And I also “blinked” at it. I know about your record heat. And then all that absurdity with the Russian Embassy burning what has to be so much more than paper; to be exuding black smoke like that. God only knows…I’m thinking of you all on the West Coast, along with our neighbors in the Gulf. I wish I could offer you more thanπŸ™πŸ» prayers…Be well. Here’s hoping that relief’s soon in sight. πŸ™‹πŸ»

    • Good morning, Big Guy! It’s late for you…You had me worried there for a second…Thought there might have been some Moose hunting in your area…WEAR RED….I know you won’t like this…but who said y’day that the Yankees were done…wait until next year? Yea, go ahead, raise your hand! So maybe you thought their “Days Were Numbered..l”? JUST SAYIN’…Food for thought. Don’t leave any outside, tho…You know with the Moose and all…
      Hope I’m making you smile…Hang in there….πŸ™‹πŸ»

      • My reason for being late. I couldn’t find jumble for 9/3. I’m an early riser like you. Got a laugh about your favorite Nephew in Church.

        • That’s why my concern. I’m used to you and Earl being here with me at the crack of dawn! As long as all is well. Yea, my nephew. They broke the mold with that boy! The side eyes, the eyebrow raising, the smirks…the poor kid shaking his head so much! Got my DNA! And some of my looks, too…Although if you hear his mother speaking, he’s…”All my side of the family…” Yea, ok, dream on..(I’ve mentioned before how much I love my brothers, right)? πŸ˜‚ Anyway….
Weather reports saying it’ll clear up this afternoon…Glad it’s not a day game. 7 PM…See ya’ on deck… Rosary beads still required… πŸ™‹πŸ»

      • Yanks have Cleveland coming up, and they are on a tare. Tanaker pitched a great game. I wish them all the best.

        • Yea, Moose, He did. Indians 10-0 last 10…tear and a rip today, scoring 7 out of 9 innings! Spread the wealth…
          Hey, Head heading for Home…⚾️

Went to a BBQ after the party…Whole lot of Yankee fans. Bi–hing about Judge. Calling him a liability…calling for the DL…πŸ’”

        • Hey Moose. Just getting in. 1st inning Yanks-Sox took an hour?
We were together at a party. We were sneaking looks at the score. He suggested we toast the end of the Season…get it over with now. Conforto done, Cespedes left the rest of us…Flores giving blood…Poor kids developing stomach issues…So we raised our glasses and made the Sign of the Cross..RIP. Wait’ll Next Year…⚰

  3. Angela, I’ve been on vacation to the Pacific Northwest so missed the Jumble for the last ten days or so. Left an air conditioned cruise ship for this record heat. Should have booked the vacation for this week. Who knew??

    • At least you got to enjoy yourself for a while. I’m guessing you’re without A/C also? Who knew is right. It all makes me so angry, with the Global Warming deniers. Maybe you can go spend the day at a movie theater? Multi-plex? Catch 2 or 3? At least you’ll stay cool for a few hours. Good luck. My thoughts and prayers are with you. πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈ

    • Hi Betty! I missed you, too. Don’t worry, I’ve been doing enough complaining about the heat for both of us; everybody’s sick of hearing it! (Not really, of course they have been wonderfully sympathetic. Even while they’re freezing!)
If you had gotten off the ship in the Northwest, I think you would have gotten slammed there too – Portland was over 90Β°, I think.
Our worst days were Friday (106 in SF) and yesterday. It seems much cooler today, and I know the worst is over for now.

  4. Hi all – Great puzzle answer, and I love the little retro calendar on his desk (of course).
First thought: The movies’ blatant product placement comes to the Jumble cartoon. I don’t mind – anything that helps Jumble is fine with me.

  5. Steve, We flew home from Portland yesterday and yes, it was hot there but the ship was air conditioned so it didn’t seem as bad as here. It’s a balmy 85 on my back porch right now. There is a breeze so it’s not as stifling as yesterday but the house remains hot. I didn’t even own a pair of shorts but stopped by the Gap on my way home from Mass and am now decked out it my new outfit. The foghorns will be music to my ears.

    • I’m glad you missed Friday! Although as you say, the house holding the residual heat can affect the next day also. I think by tonight, we’ll both have less to complain about.

  6. Good evening friends. I did not have too much trouble with the words. The last word to get was eyelid. Yet when you look at all the words that should have been the first one to get. I look over all the words and write the ones down that pop into my head rather quickly. As to the cartoon answer I finally gave up. Picked it up at least three times and finally decided to look for your answer. Angela, you should be happy right now that the Yankees are leading 3-0 top of 6th. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Hi Paul. Actually, I’d be happy to see Judge have an easier time of it. I just love baseball…I’m sure you’ll have better luck with the puzzle t’row. Sometimes the Sunday ones can be stumpers. Enjoy your night. See you t’row. πŸ™‹πŸ»

    • Paul, You may have brought me luck! Judge with that Homer I’ve been waiting for…..! πŸŽŠπŸŽŠπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

      • I saw it. I was happy for him. He seems like such a good kid. The kind you root for. Our Mets are so bad. If this was twenty years ago I would never have switched to the Yankees. One of my sons gives me grief for watching them. They are so bad and boring especially with all our outfielder s out. How can you not look for better games to watch.

        • Great shot, right? That’s just it, he’s so likable. How could you not root for him? 20 years ago? I never watched before this year! And same here….you may have seen me mention, one of my brothers is extremely annoyed with me. I’m getting tons of grief from a lot of my family. Please, with all that’s going on in the country, and the world, OUR days might be numbered. It’s a sport, it’s diversion, it makes you happy. I want something positive to root for, and I’m positive it’s Judge! πŸ˜‰ I still love the Mets, but read what I told Moose earlier…Like my nephew said it’s time to stop the bleeding for this Season. I’m just happy for the guy…Have a great night! βšΎοΈπŸ™‹πŸ»
