DEEWG – WEDGE

LUYBK – BULKY

DEELYI – EYELID

NNCOAY – CANYON

CARTOON ANSWER:  THE PIANIST PLAYED FOR JUST A FEW PEOPLE. HIS PERFORMANCE WAS – – – LOW KEY

Good morning, Everyone!   ๐ŸŽน  Play It Sam! ๐ŸŽน

๐ŸŽถ”What would you think if I SANG out of tune, Would you stand up and walk out on me? Lend me your ears and I’ll sing you a song…And I’ll try not to sing out of KEY. Oh I get by with a little help from my friends. Mm I get high with a little help from my friends…Mm going to try with a little help from my friends…”๐ŸŽถ
Sometimes it’s all you need…Today’s words: 1-2 โœ”๏ธ, โœ”๏ธ. Did you blink at EYELID? And did CANYON cause certain, casual, yet careful consideration? Repeat FAVORITES, Dave’s PLAYED them before…Ok, TUNE in…our carTUNE! Today Jeff gives us a shoeless man at a PIANO, surrounded by three enraptured listeners. NOTE the background, it suggests waterfront property; we see the ocean, and Jeff’s signature, sinking sailboat way off on the SOUND. Could it be the end of summer..no BULKY clothing?  Are we at a Piano Bar, something small and intimate? Just the four of them instead of people WEDGEd in four deep? The dialogue says it all. “Little less crowded”, “Very relaxing”. Well maybe not all…Did I mention SHOELESS? Yea, this is one relaxed piano player, tinkling those ivories..hitting all the right KEYS..He’s “LOW KEY”! Eye candy? Nope, not that sailBOAT, I’m drawn to the bare feet, just TOED me in! So, our whole puzzle today was easy, breezy…just like the theme. Good job, Jumble Guys, you’ve hit that high NOTE once again! Because, for whatever reason this guy ended up here, it’s all ok. Look at those faces! They’re all happy. And isn’t that what it’s all about? Being happy, surrounded by those few close friends?
Have a great day, Everyone. Hoping we all get by…with a little help from our friends…PLAY it, Sam, yea, PLAY it again…๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป๐ŸŽน

  1. Good morning. I could not believe how the last two words gave me so much trouble. Your right, we did have them before. Sometimes the most simplest of words like “eyelid” can cause a migraine. You feel so dumb when you finally get the word. The cartoon answer was an instant read. Thank God. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good morning, Paul. Dumb?…No way, no 4 letter words here!
      Have a great day! ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

        • Hi, Paul. Good morning. It’s been up since around 9ish. Go to the calendar at the left hand side, and hit 24. Let me know if you’ve found it. ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  2. In the CANYON formed by the NYC skyscrapers, the tourist found herself WEDGEd between a BULKY delivery man and a model who was applying black mascara to one EYELID.
Easy solve again today although I had to blink both eyelids at that pesky compound word. As I’ve commented before that type of word slows me down.
Gorgeous almost fall-like morning here. Took my bike out and wore a sweat shirt! Radical change from yesterday’s wild weather here. Enjoy today and everyday as if it were your last.๐Ÿšด ๐Ÿ‰๐ŸŒ ๐ŸŒ…

    • Good morning…Earl once again, you hit the high note with that sentence of yours! Those women that apply makeup in public get me KEYED up all the time! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Wild weather is right! It had me cowering last night! But I believe we’re promised clear sailing for the rest of the week. And your closing sentiment? Truer words never spoken! Enjoy the beautiful weather! ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

      • Thanks Angela–I was fairly sure you would get the scene I was trying to paint. Your post as always left me smiling, scowling, smirking and downright stupified!

        • Hey Earl. Apologies for the delay. A few issues arose. Yes, you painted the scene perfectly! And, Oh those canyons! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰
Thank you, kind Sir! Glad I could give you a grin on this grand, glorious, get-outside kind of day! Take care! ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

    • Earl, if I celebrated today as if it were my last day, it might be a self-fulfilling prophecy! I’ve only made it this far by learning to pace myself. (Just kidding you here. I appreciate the sentiment).

  3. First two words, snap! Puzzle answer, check. Eyelid and canyon, WTH!?

I assume that the eclipse is old news here now, but this has been my first opportunity to post since I had my mind blown in the path of totality. Standing in a sagebrush field in Idaho, suddenly surrounded by a 360ยฐ “sunset” is indescribable. The diamond ring effect as the corona broke on the other side of totality was simply breathtaking . This is the first time in my life that something was simultaneously placed on and checked off of my bucket list. If expense were no impediment, I could easily become an eclipse junkie!!

    • The eclipse might be old news, but not your report. Thanks for sharing that! It sounds almost indescribable. Start saving up now for a trip to Carbondale in 2024!

      • Steve…Phew! Read my post. I said, “Play it again, SAM”. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

        • ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Hope springs eternal! (Except for the Giants!) ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

        • John: ๐ŸŽถ”Just what makes that little old ant think he’ll move that rubber tree plant…Anyone knows an ant, can’t move a rubber tree plant..

But he’s got HIGH HOPES, he’s got high hopes
He’s got high apple pie, in the sky hopes…

So any time your gettin’ low, ‘Stead of lettin’ go
          Just remember that ant…
Oops there goes another rubber tree, Oops there goes another rubber tree, Oops there goes another rubber tree plant…”๐ŸŽถ

          My mantra…You can borrow it…! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿœ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

    • Hi John. WTH is right! Join the crowd! You’re very fortunate to have made the trip and seen the eclipse. Heard somewhere…”The only reason Melania came out on the balcony was because she kept hearing “Diamond Ring”…Just sayin’…
Gigantic Power Ball Purse tonight..maybe solve that impediment issue…
Hey, you never know….PLAY on, America!
Good to hear from you. Stay well…๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  4. Morning Angela. Eyelid took me a few mins.but the rest was easy. Luckily we escaped without damage. Light rain all nite. Have an IVORY of a day.

    • Hey Moose. Escaped the damage? We talking the Yankee game or the storm? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Either way, we did! I hid for 2 hours!
And an IVORY day to you too, Sir Rated! ๐Ÿ˜‰
      See you on deck! ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  5. Eyelid was the stickler for me this morning. Had the whole puzzle solved and backed into it. Have a good day everyone.

    • Hi Betty. I blinked at Eyelid too…Wishing you a great day also! ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  6. Hi all – Almost instant solve, after a quick pause at the “Yield” sign yielded EYELID.

Lelia, if I had waited one more day, I would have asked you not only whether you played the piano, but whether you had ever played it barefoot!

Gee, this post is so short, Sue might even read it! ๐Ÿ˜‰
    Have a great day!

  7. Got three words AND the answer in a flash, so I knew I needed the “l”. But I never would’ve gotten “eyelid”.
Well, maybe by this time tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜

So I had to stop by to cheat – I mean to say hi…๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Hey Denny. It’s never called cheating…it’s merely checking your answers! Big difference in these parts! And there’s that Eyelid again…Hoodwinked us all! See you t’row! Enjoy your day! ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

        • That’s our story, Denny, and we’re sticking to it. โœ”๏ธ
          Enjoy your night! ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

    • Hey Carol. Brooklyn? Greetings from Angela from Brooklyn! โค๏ธ Welcome, I don’t think I’ve seen you here before. Eyelid seems to have blindsided a lot of us today! Please join us again. Have a great day! ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  8. Hi, all! Had the cartoon answer immediately. Stared at eyelid but couldnโ€™t see it, so backed into it. Done!
John, I echo Steve in complimenting you on your breathtaking description of seeing the eclipse. Thank you very much!!
Earl, being from the Grand Canyon state, thatโ€™s what I thought of, so I enjoyed your โ€œCANYONโ€ formed by NYC skyscrapers. Thanks for the time & thought you put into your sentences.

  9. Steve, in Arkansas as a child, I could walk barefoot one mile on a gravel road to the public swimming pool & a mile home. I played barefoot outside in the clover, getting bee-stung almost daily, but having the nerve to go crying to mom even though she had told me to put my shoes on before going out. Therefore, yes, I did sometimes play the piano barefoot even though it can be a little painful.
Enjoyed your โ€œyieldโ€ for eyelid. I kept wondering if I could possibly find a place for another โ€œeโ€ in the word โ€œyield.โ€

    • I might have known! Another unexpected great story to add to the collection. Thanks Lelia.
By the way yesterday, I didn’t mean to leave the impression that my voice sounds like that Neil Young song all the time (thank God, so erase it out of your head!), just that my singing voice is bad enough that, when I try to imitate songs, that’s the only one that comes out sounding close to the original.

      • Steve, your compliment about my story made my head feel as big as a single-person blimp! Oh, wait, that was Fridayโ€™s cartoon, so Iโ€™ll just say thank you, generous man.
You are in luck! Daughter here yesterday, late dinner, slept in today, so to my great dismay, havenโ€™t found the Neil Young song. Now, rather than forget it, as you requested, I just wonโ€™t listen to it. No worries.
My singing voice now โ€œcomes & goes.โ€ On hoarse days itโ€™s almost gone. I miss it!

  10. Mike, I though of both of us liking KFC chicken potpies yesterday when Jeffโ€™s mom in Family Circus served them for dinner. Iโ€™m sure when mom announced them, he heard only the word โ€œpie.โ€ At the table, he was confused that anyone would mix chicken & vegetables and call it a pie. Cute.
