To some, the scale is our friend..to others..With friends like this, who needs enemies? It does have its UPS and DOWNS…Today’s subject: The SCALE. Let’s WEIGH in…NoTHINg new with our words today, we’ve seen them time and aGAIN. But HAIRDO? Haven’t we COMB by that recently? And I thought GROWTH kind of fit the theme…I laughed it OFF! All in all, easy enough. Our cartoon: A MIDDLE aged couple, discussing their SCALE. SPARSEly drawn, not much to GO ON, really. Dialogue: “Had it for 20 years”..Long time. “Put a lot of POUNDS on”. They want a new one. Something Digital? Or maybe they’re LEANing towards one of those new NOVELty ones, that talk to you…? “Oh, I love you just the WEIGH you are”! Or..”WEIGHT a minute, WEIGHT a minute..!” You’ve seen them aROUND. AnyWEIGH, put it together…the question states that they’ve had it…”WEIGH” Too Long! Cute, and clever Guys, but SLIM chance of us not guessing this one…you gave us WEIGH too many hints! Eye candy? TOWEL I come up with something, when there’s really not much to WHET my APPETITE here? I guess it’ll have to be the TOWELS, though. Two reasons. One, I’ve never seen a head one tied quite that WEIGH before, and two, I’d never WEIGH myself with my hair WET..and those TOWELS on!…Let’s be honest, Folks, they’re bathroom SCALES, not the SCALES of Justice! THINk about it!

Good morning. Think maybe all that sun every day at the bocce court is starting to fry my brain lately. I believe two days straight I stumbled on the cartoon answer. But hallelujah,today by George I do believe I got it. Hairdo was the last word I got. Took as long as the other three words combined. Getting a hang of the pun words. My mind usually shuts down when I see those quotation marks. But today’s was just a ten second lapse. Until tomorrow stay well. Angela , your intro everyday is inspiring. You leave us thinking what is she gonna say next.

I needed the answer before I could figure out hairdo. My tall scale with weights is much older – can’t even remember when I bought it. I don’t think I’ll need to replace it.
Good morning,🎶Sweet Caroline🎶 .Funny, because glancing at the puzzle today, HAIRDO was the first word that caught my eye. But I have an advantage..or maybe it’s a disadvantage! Just this morning, I needed both “Noodle Head” Curling Creme and “Bada Bing” Holding Gel to try and beat my hair into submission! Especially that it was raining. Just a few of the many “can’t miss” hair products I “tangle” with on a daily basis. The humidity is my bane! Bane for the mane! So HAIR’s a word I see a lot! HI Angela – Never heard of those hair products. I don’t use much of anything and I guess it shows. Yeah, I do like old stuff, even my computer of 15 years that struggles along.
Hi Caroline. You wouldn’t believe what’s out there! And I’m not the gullible type that’ll buy just anything. (I hated buying the Bada Bing product, I felt it was kind of a slur, but it does work). I do my research first. I actually have them sorted by season! I’m the only person I know that checks the humidity on line as soon as I get up! Let’s me know how much time I’ll need to tame the beast! LOL..The Winter months are so much kinder to my hair! I don’t have much of a choice. If I just “wash and wear” my hair, it’ll take on a life of its own! LOL…Thankfully most reputable places will let you return a product if it doesn’t live up to your expectations. “HAIR but for the Grace of God, go I”! LOL… I too cherish everything old. And I’m not big on change either, I resist it as much as I can. New doesn’t always mean better, right? Looking forward to my Kakuro trow! Be well! 😉🙋🏻

Angela. nothing said to offend; fun is good for the soul. Truthfully, I seldom read long posts unless directed or replied to me. Not into puns and ,at best, I scan long posts. As stated, I do try to catch replies to me and reply back. From what I read, I think you have natural curly hair and I would be envious, however, learned the hard way to be thankful for what I have.🌞

Hi, all! Fairly easy puzzle. Self-jumbled GROWTH & HAIRDO a few times.
While taking care of Jerry after his last illness a few months ago, I lost 20 pounds & even with eating as much as I can as often as I can, I have gained back only 2 pounds. My doctor told me to eat cheeseburgers & to put a big blop of sour cream on everything. Getting onto my scales, I hope it will weight me more rather than less.

Lelia, I know I put too much weight on by drinking lots of juice. It’s good for that but of course has a high sugar content.

When I was in high school I LOVED doing the Asimov quiz every Sunday (we didn’t have a daily) and made doctor a lot because I was a voracious reader. When I read that you were doing a daily, I told myself NOT to add that to my agenda, but I gave in 2 weeks ago & was hooked in one day. Did horrible at first but have gotten better. Harry, at Miracle Mile I eat a hot pastrami sand with coleslaw in it and I believe it is called a New Yorker. Jerry eats the hot sand with sauerkraut and I think they call it The Straw.

Hi Eric! “Word play”, indeed! Even my Utrecht-born wife had a little trouble with the rest though. Her family would visit Holland every summer, and it got increasingly harder every year because the language would change slightly every year. They told her she had a “cute accent”, though.
