CARTOON ANSWER : WITH SO MUCH DENTAL WORK NEEDED, THEY JOKED ABOUT HAVING AN ORTHODONTIST- – –

AEIERTNNOR – – – ON RETAINER

Good morning, Everyone! THE DENTIST!
BUCCAL UP, Folks…This Could Be A Bumpy Ride!
🎢” Hit the road, PLAQUE, and don’t you come back no more, no more, no more, no more…Hit the road PLAQUE, and don’t you come back no more….”🎢
Cheap SHOT? Sorry, best I could do. I know, I know, CHEW were probably EXPORTing more, but it’s all I got! It’s not that easy coming up with these puns day after day, same old GRIND. So, I try to live by these ADAGEs: PICK yourself up, PULL OUT all the stops, and BRACE yourself for the worst, CUSP life’s not always fulFILLING! The TOOTH hurts! But, BOTTOM line, ORAL really want to do is make you SMILE, so let’s give it a SHOT, and get on with our puzzle! Our words: Was it just me, or was ICIER a tad unNERVEing? I’m thinking, this MESIAL little word is a PAIN! I was having breakfast with my eX, RAY, and I had to ask him for help! (We’ve stayed friends, HELIUM always be my friend). The rest of the words were a SNAP. Our cartoon: AHH..the Orthodontist! Great guy, right? He makes your kids look good, and you in turn put his through college! Quid pro quo. AHH, how ’bout Quid pro…NO? Talk about putting your money where your MOUTH is! We become like inDENTUREd servants, right? You know the DRILL, month after month, pay, pay, pay, unTUNNEL we become MOLAR opposites! He gets richer, we feel the IMPACT! Down right ENAMEL cruelty! Listen, I don’t mean to sound cruel, but the PROPHYs in the pudding! Just look at the cartoon…MAN,DIBLE! Ok, ok, enough of my CARIESing on! I’m BANDying BACK and forth so much, I’m driving myself to EXTRACTION! Let’s just SEW this up. Jeff shows us both kids wearing RETAINERS. Dave tells us the parents joked about….”another month”, and having the DENTIST “well paid”, and …”ON RETAINER”! Good job, Guys, you’ve both IMPLANTED the clues in our minds today! ACUTE puzzle, ain’t it the TOOTH, Folks? Oh, eye candy? On the bill, there’s the SWEETest little TOOTH.
So….I’ll tell you something…While this was PUN while it lasted, today wasn’t easy. Not the puzzle, that was a SPIT in the bucket, I didn’t feel a thing! But trying to FORM conRINSEing puns about DENTAL work? MAMELON other time…Today….was like PULLING TEETH!
(PS: To our Orthodontists out there: Please know this was all TONGUE in CHEEK, I know you got FILLINGS too).
🎢”GUM together, right now, over me…”🎢

Have a great day, Everyone…..And may the FLOSS be with you…😷 πŸ™‹πŸ»

  1. Good morning. Had some trouble with icier. Toyed with the fact I had it correct. As always after I have the words I check to make sure they are carrect before going on to the cartoon answer. After the last time with “I before e ” I doubted myself. Since I was right four for four I contemplated the final outcome and in under a minute I obtained the solution Onward and forward to Thursday’s gen. Until tomorrow stay well and especially you Jerry.

    • Good morning, Paul. ICIER caused me to blink, also. I kept seeing Rice. It’s an odd word. And it’s an exception to the “I before e” rule, which makes it more of a conundrum! For 5 letters, it sure packs a wallop! Be well, and enjoy your day! πŸ™‹πŸ»

    • Hey Ron, Sometimes the 5 letter words are the trickiest, right? All in all, a cute, fun puzzle for a Wednesday! Enjoy your day! πŸ™‹πŸ»

  2. Icier took a few minutes; not a word that I see in print often. Loud thunderstorm with heavy rain here; need rain could do without thunder and lightening! Enjoy the day!β˜”βš‘πŸŒˆ

    • Hey Sue. My sentiments exactly. I welcome the rain…the “lights and the music”, I’ll pass! Rain on and off here, but still so hot. I blinked at ICIER also. Enjoy your day! πŸ™‹πŸ»

  3. HI, all! ICIER was a quick solve for me because years ago I spent all morning trying to solve ICING, pronouncing it IK’ING. Today I arranged the first three letters like ICING, added the ER, and voila!! I wore braces & retainers and so did our daughters.
PAUL Jerry’s surgery got changed to next Monday, but we appreciate your well wishes today on our wedding anniversary.
SUE, smiled at your needing rain but not the thunder & lightening. I remember our dog hiding from thunder. No pets now.

  4. Hi all – Yup, my puzzle solving time definitely slipped on ICIER.
Excellent puns today, but I had to look up MESIAL and MAMELON. I guess I’m lucky that I didn’t know those.

Re the “Gum Together” Beatles reference – headline in my paper about the upcoming eclipse says “I’ll follow the Sun”.

    • Steve, yesterday I thought of you when a song came on overhead in Walgreens, a song about dancing! Wow! Counting your three, my fourth birthday song about dancing! Then a wonderful horn solo made me think about your grandfather. Both of mine died before I was born. Thank you for sharing your memories of him.
      Until tomorrow.

      • I would not advise that you “Dance, dance, dance all night”, though. I was fortunate enough to know all four of my grandparents.

  5. When the TUNNEL was constructed in Siberia to EXPORT goods during the winter, the ADAGE became: “The ICIER the weather the better the business.”
Did not get an e-mail today with the answers? Waited and waited. Almost as agonizing as a trip to the dentistπŸ€•
No matter I dug around in past mailboxes and found a way to,get today’s posts. Easy solve, cure cartoon.

    • Earl, I had to have that last cup of coffee without you! I’ve gotten so used to you being a part of my mornings…I waited and waited too! πŸ˜‰ And I posted at 7:30, so I thought for sure you and Moose would be right behind me! (Every so often, I don’t get the emails either. Vary strange).
Glad all is well. I was worried about you. Take care. πŸ™‹πŸ»

  6. Hey, Eric….PAL,..ATE wasnt easy!
Not the best subject matter today, but I BIT the bullet just the same. I’d be lying through my TEETH if I said it was fun. Maybe I should have listened to my WISDOM TOOTH, instead of that SWEET TOOTH, and just taken a PUS! But it’s my FLOSSopy to give everything my best SHOT. And I had a lot on my PLATE today too…But CHEW know I’m FILLING in for the regular guy, and that’s the RINSEn I had to get it done…CUSP, “I got promises to keep, And SMILES to go before I sleep…And SMILES to go before I sleep….”
Anyway, glad you stopped by, and I’ll see you again in 6 months! πŸ™‹πŸ»
