CARTOON ANSWER: Β THE FASCINATING DOCUMENTARY ABOUT FROGS WAS – – –

GTBIIIBRN – – – “RIBBITING”

Good morning, Everyone! A FROG GIG! Let’s HOP right to it!

🎢”Jeremiah was a bullfrog, he was a good friend of mine, I never understood a single word he said, But I helped him drink his wine…Joy to the world, all the boys and girls now..Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea..Joy to you and me…”🎢. Frog walks into McDonald’s, orders French FLIES and a diet CROAK. HA! Yea, old joke, I know, but I just couldn’t let it SLIP by. …
My first thought looking at our puzzle TOADy? A little close to that TV, no? My second thought? The FAUNA continues…FROGS! I’m still GUESTing that Jeff’s trying to tell us something…But WART? Maybe take a little poll? A TADPOLE? Any thoughts, Folks? Hmm….BRISKly went through our words today, nothing to PONDer over. The dialogue though is trICKY! This isn’t hard, but it is trICKY!!! The clues: “Amazing”, “I can’t believe”. The question: “Fascinating”. Dave’s DROPping hints at the word: “RIVETING”. And here’s where the PUN begins! If you didn’t immediately associate FROGS and “RIBBIT”, you definitely needed a comPONDium of your letters to see “RIBBITING”. A lot of “I’s”, right? And, Jeff’s cartoon really didn’t give us any KELP! We see a swamper, wading in the water, GIGGING for FROGS, but they keep BROKEN away. (And speaking of “I’s”, when I tried looking up some FROG info…? My EYES, my EYES! Trust me, things I didn’t KNEEd to see this early in the morning…one could KERMIT suicide)! Most likely, the water’s clammy, but not FRIGID. (Yep, cheap shot for FRIGID I know. FROGet it, it’s all I got)! So what’s HOPpening here? Do you think this guy’s one of those Duck Dynasty types? I like those guys; have you ever METAMOR-PHOSIS-tious bunch? They’re all so FLIPpant, so TONGUE in cheek! I’ve been TOAD they’re always CROAKing jokes. Anyway, looking at todays cartoon, nothing will LEAP off the page, (and you may not SWAMP to JUMP to conclusions). Which is why it might have been necessary to write out those letters. All in all, a TOADally clever pun. The eye candy? The tree on the right side background? A Buzzard! Or is it a Vulture? Either or, he had me CARRION on!
So, Monday morning, andΒ a great puzzle! WART better way to start off the week? Make the most of today, don’t let it just FLY by! 🎢”SLIME..is on your side, yes it is…”🎢 πŸΈπŸ™‹πŸ»

  2. Good morning. Yesterday’s puzzle was fun. Started after church and put it down to go out. When I returned I picked it back up and solved both ends. Today’s jumble was a typical Monday. In between coffee sips it was completed in under five minutes. Everything was almost an instant read. Until tomorrow stay well. Enjoy your vacation. Angela has everything under control. No need to cut your vacation short. Your job is secure. “Or is it”. Just having fun.

No problems with clue words but had to write the circled letters out to come up with the solution. Sigh☹️ But it’s Monday after all. Loved the Jeremiah the Bullfrog reference Angela. πŸ‰

Steve, thanks for your comforting words all week that will be with us at the hosp.

  5. Amazing punsterisms as usual. Frigid also gave me some grief.

On Sunday, while traveling, I saw “TV Jumble” by David only in Newark’s Star-Ledger. The puzzle has four six and seven letter clue words with a TV-related clue for each one. For one word – harmony – the clue was Sonny and Cher unity. The answer was a TV actor. There was also a simple drawing with a few hints for the answer.

    • Good morning, 🎢”Sweet Caroline”🎢, Thank you. My paper prints that puzzle every Saturday. I love doing it. You need to know TV, of course, to solve it. I have some gaps in my TV viewing years, so it gives me a little welcome challenge, which I love! Hope you have a great day! πŸΈπŸ™‹πŸ»

      • I’m glad the TV puzzle challenges you some, Angela. With my limited knowledge of TV actors, I don’t think I’d fare too well. Does your paper publish both Jumbles on Saturday? The Newark paper only carried the TV Jumble on Sunday, which made me wonder if the paper was using that instead of the regular Sunday Jumble.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Hi Caroline. My paper does really well by its puzzle fans! Daily, we get 2 Crosswords, a Sudoku puzzle, and of course, the Jumble, always in color. Saturday, the plot thickens! We get the usual plus an extra TV Crossword, (which features a TV personality, with their picture at center of the grid), PLUS the TV Jumble. Sunday? They pull out all the stops, it’s a landslide! A plethora of puzzles! 2 HUGE (LOL) full page Crosswords, a Kakuro puzzle, (which is amazing)!, a 5-gridded interlocking Sudoku puzzle, (more amazing)! A Hidato puzzle, (mind-boggling amazing)! a logic type puzzle about Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, called Baker Street, one of those Magic Eye puzzles, a Jumble for KIDS, and of course the Jumble.PHEW! Hmmm. What was the question again? ROTFL! I could have just said…”Yes”, huh? But where’s the fun in that?
Hope you’re enjoying your day! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ™‹πŸ»

      • Hi Angela -I’ve been working for hours on the Kakuro puzzle that you recommended. I think I’m close to finished but I must have a mistake somewhere, which I have to find. I can’t race through these math puzzles like I bet you can, so I won’t be doing Kakuro or Sudoku often. But thanks – it’s a challenge and always most interesting the first time.

      • 🎢”Sweet Caroline”🎢 Hi! I wish I knew you were going to try it! Don’t be discouraged, they’re not easy! I struck out my first 3-4 times. Complete fails! And I wasn’t doing it alone! My cousin, who’s a Math whiz taught me how to do them, and he refused to let me give up. I tried making him see that he enjoyed them because of his math prowess. Me, a different ball game. But, he was adamant that I keep trying. And he was right! Now I’m obsessed with them. But, there are some irrefutable combinations that make it impossible to get the numbers wrong. I feel so badly that I threw you out there unprotected! LOL…If you’d like I can write them out for you. Believe me, not knowing them, I’d probably never complete one. Let me know, I’d be happy to put them up for you. πŸ˜€πŸ™‹πŸ» βž•βž•βž•βž•!!

      • Caroline, This is OUR lucky day! I say our because I found this on line. Just last week I started showing one of my nephews how to do them, and he was …”Well, how can you be sure”? (Ex: The ONLY 4 number combination for 29 being 5-7-8-9). I was like…. “I don’t know, it just is! πŸ˜€ .He was taking copious notes!! LOL..The ones in green are the ones most commonly used in the puzzles. You’ll get to recognize them. Whatever you decide, this will definitely help. Hope you give it another try! Keep me posted! • Hi Angela,
Don’t worry. I did the Kakuro today and found it much easier this time. I did notice several combinations that are always the same, and it was fun discovering them. So Kakuro will be fun for me to do every once in a while to stimulate other parts of my brain. It amazes me how fast you are able to do the puzzles and your great postings. I think if we can apply your skills to politics we’ll be in good shape!

      • 🎢”Sweet Caroline..”🎢…Today? You have a daily Kakuro? I would pay good money to have one every day! I have to wait until Sundays! It kills me! You’re very, very kind, but if you listen closely, you’ll hear the collective groan of a lot of people reading this! LOL..I am quick, not always correct, but quick. Politics? With what we’re seeing today, it’s taken on a whole new meaning. Skills and exorcisms maybe! Anyway, I’m so glad you’re going to try it now and again. You’ll get to love it, I’m sure. Thanks again….Be well! πŸ™‹πŸ»v

      • Angela, I found the puzzle in the Buffalo News after you mentioned it, not in our local paper. I saw Kakuro yesterday and today, so I’m guessing it’s every day. I don’t see the puzzle on their online site. I didn’t figure out the 29 combo but I did notice some two and three number ones.

      • Caroline, so sorry I’ve taken so long to reply. Steve and I were sparring! You are so lucky to get that print puzzle every day! I don’t think I’d do an on-line one, I’m a purist! LOL.I like my paper and pen. I’ve been looking to see if I can get a hard copy subscription. I cannot get enough of them! Take a look at that link. As I said, all the ones in green, you’ll see many times over in the puzzles. For some reason, I’m very fond of 24: 7-8-9! I don’t know why!! LOL…Have a great night, and I hope if you decide to stick with them, you’ll enjoy them as I do! Ciao, Bella! πŸ™‹πŸ»

  7. At first I thought that there was a singular form, and if something wasn’t enough to drive you completely crazy, maybe it would only drive you BONKER. But no, the word is BROKEN.

As to your question, I’ve also noticed the abundance of animals and nature scenes lately, but I just figured they were getting out in the good summer weather. Now as for all the pun-quoted answers lately, no idea.

If you’re sensitive about your age, don’t admit to remembering Froggy The Gremlin (maybe he’s Kermit’s grandfather) hosted by Andy Devine (“Plunk your magic twanger, Froggy!”)

  8. Hi, all. Jerry & I are sitting at home on the couch, dazed looks in our eyes, shoulders slumped, and brainstorming ideas of how to make the best of the rest of this day.
After spending the last few days cleaning house, grocery shopping, & cooking something Jerry likes to eat and getting up at 5 a.m. today for breakfast before 6 a.m., beginning fasting at 6 a.m., taking a 2 hour nap, getting up again & getting ready to go to the hosp. for his surgery…….the phone rang. It was the surgeon’s office telling us that the surgery is cancelled for today. They have rescheduled it for next Monday & will call Friday to tell us the time. Happy Birthday to me!! LOL

Steve, when I told you about doc not showing up for apt, you said that for elder abuse like that, you tell them you are shaking your cane at them. I think it’s even worse to cancel a SURGERY!!! Would whacking them with my cane be too much?! It’s enough to drive us BONKER! LOL
