BRAROH = HARBOR

TIEUYQ = EQUITY

CARTOON ANSWER:

SHE LOVED MAKING DRESSES BY HAND —

MWSCHEU = “SEW” MUCH

Good Saturday morning everyone!  Today’s puzzle was a super simple solve more suitable for a Monday.  MACAW was the most difficult word for me to decipher today, but it only took an extra second or two before it came to me.  The cartoon answer was a piece of cake after writing out the clue letters and the letter layout kept the solution well hidden for being only 7-letters.  The cartoon was great as usual, but something struck me as “not looking right”.  The location of the spool of thread on the sewing machine is typically on the far right side of the machine and not directly above the needle.  Only a minor detail that didn’t make a bit of difference in the final solve.  Not much else to say about this one sew I’ll keep it short and sweet.  Enjoy your day and I’ll see you tomorrow!  ๐Ÿค—

  1. A-HEM….SEW here’s a twist! Wouldn’t Macaw have FIT very nicely into yesterday’s puzzle? Just Sayin’ I think Jeff just likes to STRING us along!

    The remaining three words are all repeats, no new MATERIAL there! FABRIC-adabra, I’m done! An easy, breezy run through all four!

    On to the cartoon: Isn’t this just as cute as a BUTTON? Young girl SEAMingly ready to embark on a career that’s always on the CUTTING edge. And, she’s not SPOOLing around! Approaching it with no THREADpidatiin at all. It’s great how the young don’t COTTON to being aFRAYed, they just PRESS on, the way it should BEE. And with a good education, she could be the REEL thing! The puzzle answer: She’s SEWing, she “made ALL of this”, Jeff CUSHIONed have made it simpler! EYE candy today? I had a hard time PINpointing it, but decided to give it to that cute little SEWing machine. I don’t sew, but something about it just looks off. Maybe that’s why she’s sewing by hand! And the T shirt was a CLOTHES second.

    Life can be a series of ZIG ZAG PATTERNS. And we all NEEDLE little help from our friends at times. We may be DARNED if we do, and DARNED if we don’t, but laughter SHEARly beats crying. And I intend to leave ’em in STITCHES! ๐Ÿ‘š๐Ÿ‘— ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

    • I wonder where she gets the wool for her SCARF?
      I wonder where “In OTHER words…” for today is?
      I wonder whether you had a hand in naming “In OTHER words…” – “Fly me to the moon”?
      I wonder where the yellow went, when I brushed my teeth with Pepsodent?
      Have as WONDER-FULL a day as I’m having!

  2. POST SCRIPT: When Mike and I posted these earlier this morning, there weren’t any colorized versions available to view. Upon seeing it now, I can tell you, that YES, indeed, our young seamstress is a “B in P” And just like that suit with the extra pair of pants…there’s more! E-VER-Y single piece of clothing she’s making? Purple, mauve, dark lilac …Fashion faux…WHA??? ๐Ÿ‘š๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  3. While traveling on the cruise ship, “EQUITY”, the tourist from Brooklyn bought a MACAW while anchored in Mombasa HARBOR and a silk SCARF in Colombo, Sri Lanka,”much” to the dismay of her “so” frugal cabin mate.
    Angela, I think I counted at least 20+ sewing references in your post. Amazing! Here are some more for you to thread in–Singer (most popular of machines), spool and pattern and possibly mannequin.
    Glad you all(and I am not southern) look forward to my sentences.
    I did not identify Mombassa’s location in the sentence, it didn’t seem to fit. It’s in Kenya, on the Indian Ocean and on some cruise ships’ route to Asia.
    Easy solve today and in spite of yesterday’s goof, I’m back to no pen.

    • ๐ŸŽถ”Where do I begin…”๐ŸŽถ. You’ve outdone yourself! Your sentences are now becoming the stuff short stories are made of! Major Kudos! The imagery, the flow, the fact that I’m pretty sure I’m the “tourist from Brooklyn”!!! โค๏ธ LOL….I’d surely get that Macaw and scarf. I’m not a fan of the birds nesting in my awning, but a colorful exotic creature that would mimic my speech? HA..I’d love it! But how long before I’d be reported for “Cruelty to Avians”! Poor bird would collapse from exhaustion! LOL. With all due respect, take another look, I did sneak PATTERN in there. And I was on the fence about SINGER, copyright infringement and all! LOL.
      But I have this one, just for you! “Earl? That MANNEQUIN really put a smile on my face..” ! Wishing you all the enjoyment you bring to others! ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  4. Oops, Angela scooped me on “spool” and I’ll be darned if I missed it. So much for trying to add to the punster-in-chief’s excellence.

    • HA! Good morning, kind Sir! The Punster-in-Chief? ..I do SEW suffer from Obsessive ComPUNsive Disorder! Extreme case. Truth be told, I’ve been given a name by my friends. Were this not a family friendly blog, I’d tell it to you! LOL…(Their’s is an extreme case of “Familiarity Breeding Contempt”…). ROTFL!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

      • Earl, SEW taken earlier with your lavish, literary logomancy, (I SEW do love the “smell of alliteration in the morning”), I failed to mention that Mike, who SEAMS to await your sentences as MUCH as he does a Yankee loss, would be doing his….”Dance, Rinse, Repeat” at today’s offering! I’m sure when he gets here later, he’ll be BOBBIN around, and shouting, “Crazy Town, Banana PANTS” as only he can. (Alas, there’s no accounting for taste)!! LOL. Also, I did catch your two puzzle related references.. “THREAD in”, and “I’ll be DARNED”. ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  5. Hi Donald. Good morning. We’re not disputing the location of the spool, but the placement. I think it would more often be at the opposite side of the needle. But hey, We’re not a SEWcialists! Different strokes for different stitches! Enjoy your day! โœ‚๏ธ ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  6. Spot on, but my first thought was, “Get that poor girl a sewing table.” It’s going to be awfully hard maneuvering sheets of fabric through the machine while it’s sitting on the floor.

  7. HA! I think she’s happy right now to have it just SEW. Or maybe the YOKES on us! Either way, she has the BASTES down flat! She’s creating an entire LINE, while we’re all HEMming and hawing over it! You SEAM to be familiar with sewing..Needed to PATCH up a lot in your time? ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

    • Watched my grandmother while she sewed on her SINGER; I was BOBBIN around her all the time. Wonderful tins FULL of every kind of button imaginable!

  8. The spool placement? Really? But, the four fingers never seem to catch anyone’s eyes. That is my daughter’s room. She heads off to the University of Cincinnati in a few months to study fashion design. We’re sew excited for her.

    • You must know we’re nothing if not picky around here! Hope the four fingers were not due to a sewing accident! Congrats and good luck to you and your daughter!

    • Not that I do a lot of sewing, Jeff, but it just looked out of place. Have a great Father’s Day and best of luck to your daughter. With such a supportive Dad and family, she’ll definitely achieve her dreams. Sew long for now. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Hey, Jeff! An honor and a privilege! With all due respect, we figured you threw that in to keep us on our toes! We’re becoming regular Baryshnikov’s here! And I’ve bestowed upon you the “Music” title!! Dave’s the words, you’re what brings it all together! I figured this was your daughter, and I remember you saying a while back that she was going off to college with the twins. I do pay CLOTHES attention! But I would never aSEAM to mention it. Has somewhat of a stalking nature attached to it! And I’m SEW happy you saw FIT to visit with us today. Wait’ll Mike see this! He’ll be popping his BUTTONS! ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

    • POST STITCH…And Jeff, we did COVER the four fingers, weeks GORE maybe it was months ago. No BIAS here, we adDRESS every detail! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป
