CARTOON ANSWER:

WHEN IS A DOG’S TAIL NOT A TAIL?  WHEN IT’S A —

IGWNGA = “WAGGIN’ ”

Good Monday morning everyone and welcome back to another week of Jumble fun!  There are a few changes to this website that I’m excited to share with you and I hope you’ll find them positive and more user friendly.  I upgraded the site over the weekend so the first change is that there will be NO MORE ADS!  Some folks were complaining that there were ads, pop-ups and re-directs that were really distracting and difficult to navigate so those have all been eliminated.  Secondly, the format has been changed to a fresh new style that should be easier on the eyes and faster for you to maneuver through.  Besides a whole range of behind the scenes tools to make my job easier, the last change is that the web address has changed (the old address will work just fine so there’s no need to worry that you won’t be able to find us).  The new address is www.JumbleAnswer.com and it should be much easier to remember.  With all that said, there is a minor change that YOU have to do if you’d like to leave a comment.  Because this is technically a “new” website, you’ll have to fill in the three boxes in the comments section again with the first box being the name or handle that you use, the second is your email address, and the third is your website address (it’s ok to leave this one blank).  They should be labeled so you don’t have to remember all of this, however; some users have stated that this was not the case.  Let me know if you have any questions or problems and enjoy the update.  Here’s to many more years of Jumble Answers!

Today’s puzzle was a typical Monday piece of cake with all four words coming into view instantly.  Mr. Hoyt used some fresh new words but they weren’t enough to slow me down in the least.  GUAVA and GUITAR would be my picks for the most difficult words if I was forced to choose.  Moving on to the cartoon puzzle, I attempted a blind solve but with the answer being a riddle, I wasn’t able to figure out the 6-letter solution.  Writing out the clue letters, the answer came immediately and the unique anwser was a pleasant change of pace from the typical pun.  The cartoon was excellent and little Jake sure looked happy with his stump of a tail waving away!  Dogs aren’t allowed on our beaches two weeks before Memorial Day so I was curious to see what the rules were for Montrose Beach.  Surfing over to their website, the rules section clearly state that dogs are permitted and welcome in their “dog beach area”!  Such a great idea as my dogs miss the cool water in those “dog days of summer”.  Have a great day, and I hope you enjoy all of the changes to the site.  I’ll see you tomorrow!  😀👍🏻

  1. Good morning, Coach! Giving you a shout out first before I post. “You done good” as we say in Brooklyn! Your Sox…We’ll talk later! 🙋🏻

  2. Good morning, Mike, Good morning, Everyone!
🎶”Chicago, Chicago, that toddlin’ town…”🎶 Good morning, Chicago! Good morning, Jake! Good morning, America! Who’s got it better than Jake? PAWsome! No wonder his tail’s a waggin’! Beautiful beach, pretty girl, Radio Flyer AND a ball? Pretty much every MAN’S dream, let alone a dog! And Montrose gives dogs their own beach! How BEACHIN’ is that? Yep, a dogs life! And you MASTIFF known that it doesn’t mean what it used to…So, Jakes got the Life! Our words: Let’s GUITAR it! I don’t know what it is about them today, but I just WANTED to smile. (Maybe because I’m imagining Earls delight at seeing them? He’s ‘gonna GUAVA field day)! Easy, breezy, 1-4, the anagrams forming like SANDS through the hourglass, Swift! The answer? Guess you can’t teach an old dog new tricks…It’s an old joke! No BULL about it! (COLLAR out to Jeff…FLEAS know I’m just going FUR the pun here, nothing DOGrading)! The cartoon? Didn’t need any WHELP at all. POINTERed us right to the answer! Thank you so MUSH! Don’t pay to WHINE about the girl..the “B in P”still BREEDing contempt! Kind of mind BEAGLEing, right? Although, there is a BIT of ombré going on with the HAIR today..(Hmmm..HAIR of the DOG, oh no wait..this is HAIR of the girl…different BREED once again)! The eye candy? I’m loving that tiny little ‘waggin’ tail. The sailboat in the background? Nothing to SNIFF at. But that Radio Flyer? Toooo FETCHing! No CANINEing it. No comPETition…I’d CHASE after it in a minute!
Enjoy your Monday! Get out there and WOOF it up. Great DANES happen when we LEASH expect it! 🐶 🏖 🙋🏻
Final thought: How great does Bette Midler look? She’s as hot as this NY weather! And her, “Shut that crap off”? HEEL to the Queen!

  3. The MIMIC WANTED a GUITAR but settled for a bag of GUAVAS which he put in his red ” wagon,

Easy clue words and even easier solution–no pen needed.
Am I doing something wrong? I see no names on posts?

      • Hi Earl, good morning. Might be the only draw back to the new look, the names are tiny! But trust me, in your case we’ll always know it’s you! Mike and I wait for those sentences! Did you see I gave you a shout out in my post? You make mornings brighter around here! Great post as always! You know I was thinking…Living upstate NY, if you’re a baseball man, you’d have to be a Yankee! LOL..Just in case, feel free to sing their praises, if you’d want. I’d never give you an argument! And I’d never hold it against you..Tradition is tradition…( But, see this is why my nephews should know better)! LOL. And that Aaron Judge? Redefining baseball. Long ball, fast ball…the kid’s an animal. I’m even following him! I may be a die hard Mets fan, but I know greatness when I see it. And that boy is blessed! Now, after all this…if you’re not even a baseball fan? Another 5 minutes of my life I’ll never get back! ROTFL! Enjoy the sunshine..🌞🙋🏻

      • Mike, the site looks very nice and it is good of you to try to keep pleasing everyone. I did have a little trouble reading on my cell phone, especially, the names of the posters. I think that if posters names were in bold type it might be easier to read. Are you still thinking of adding a chat room? I like that idea as at times there are 200 or more posts and I just don’t have time to read them all. It’s your site and I appreciate all the time you put into helping those of us that like to play and comment on JUMBLE. Have a restful day! 😉

        • Hi Sue! The templates for the site that I choose from aren’t always the best. I’ll try and tweak it some more to make everyone happy. I’ve tried the chat room as well and it just doesn’t work the way that I hoped. My next idea is for those of us commenting on baseball games and other non-jumble things, is to create a whole new post which can easily be “skipped over”. Thanks for sticking through it and it’ll only get better. 😊

    • I know the answer phrase is usually a homophone or pun so today’s departure from the norm is what made it enjoyable for me. It’ll most likely be business as usual tomorrow!!! 🙂

          • Preaching to the choir. I had to run out twice..killed me both times. Too early for this. I’m doing both baseball games in Gameday, one on each iPad. Too tough to follow the Warriors game live and that too. Tired from the stress too, I’m sure. Me too. God, I hate drama…How’d your dinner turn out? We did the left overs. Last thing I was going to do was think about food. Announcer just said somebody paid 132K for a pair of courtside seats! Yea, ok…

            • Wow you’re dedicated. It was my best shepherds pie yet. I used a little extra shepherd meat and it was fantastic. 😂 I’m a fan of a 20 second clock between pitches to speed up the game. Last nights game was over 4 hours and I fell asleep… Hanging in there though. Any company for the games?

              • I don’t know dedication or obsession. Fine line…you know like genius and madness! LOL. Just thinking the same thing. Mets put them to bed in like what 2:20? Makes it so much easier to digest! LOL. One of them is here but he’s asleep. Went with him to dr today, took blood. He got bit y’day playing golf. Slept all last night too. We got so much talk here about ticks. Scares the crap out of me. I’m just so tired!

              • I hope you get a good rest. Good luck trow morning! Good night. ⚾️🙋🏻

              • Angela and Mike:

🎵 “Now it’s time to say good night
                Good night sleep tight
Now the sun turns out his light
                Good night sleep tight
                Dream sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for you.” 🎵

You both did a wonderful job under pressure and stress.
I hope you get a long well-deserved rest.
                See you tomorrow.

              • Thought you did too! Annnnd, “JUST baseball season” has arrived! So cool to see Steve Kerr smiling and crying. If anyone ever deserved it.. Just waiting to hear fireworks or gunfire, whichever.

              • Gunfire!!Get out… Could she be asking more foolish questions? “And what’s your favorite color”?

              • “If you were a tree, what tree would you be?”
                “What is your spirit animal..”

              • POEtree…. Who is she? I think they said someone from ABC? I didn’t catch it. You know there’s fireworks going off here also. Like the other night with the Penguins. Must be the guy sponsoring the polls…LOL. 💵💵💸

              • That is really strange! The guy must use ANY excuse to light them off! Fire-o-maniac? Maybe it’s an Asian holiday, or an Italian saint’s day? 🙂 H. P. Lovecraft talked of the fireworks going off in the “vast Italian quarter” of Federal Hill in Providence during the many saints’ days.

              • Italian Saint Day..ROTFL. 😂😂😂 Do you think that’s what we do? You slayyyyyyy me! Lovecraft? Really. Jeez. One more thing to add to the list. I got so much researching to do! LOL. Prob just a bunch of fans. Kids I guess. It’s always so quiet around here, so it’s a surprise.

              • Hey, if Lovecraft said it, I believe it. 🙂
Seriously, though, I think it’s true for two reasons:

                1) He was writing in the ’20’s and ’30’s, so there would have been a lot of Italian-born people on Federal Hill.

and 2) He was a master at using specific real dates, places, events and facts to thoroughly ground his story in mundane reality before this one little odd detail creeps in, and soon there are ancient monsters from outside the space-time continuum using their membranous wings to navigate the Ether to Earth and subjugate or eliminate mankind and drag the Earth itself out of its orbit.

                Hey, it could happen!!! 😮

              • Today just happens to be St Anthony’s Feast Day, a very important day to Italians. And Lovecraft was a tad weird.

              • Ah, St. Anthony’s dining room is a longtime SF institution helping the homeless etc.

Lovecraft’s stories were “justtt a bit outside”, but he was very beloved by his contemporaries, many of whose writing careers he helped launch, including Robert Bloch, of “Psycho” fame. Not a bad legacy at all. And he loved cats!

              • St Anthony is my favorite Saint, seriously. I have an extremely strong devotion to him. Just in case you’re thinking to take this down some Psycho road, I’m asking you please not to.

              • Not that unusual to hear shots off in the distance on New Year’s or 4th of July, although it does seem to have decreased lately. Haven’t heard either yet.

              • What do you mean shots? Gun shots? Instead of fireworks? And they say NY is crazy? Yankees are on playing LA. Mike could have never stayed awake. They went 11 innings

              • Both. Sometimes automatic weapons fire. Like I said, not so much as in the past. You know, 🎼” Celebrate good times, come on!” 🎼

              • 🎶”Yea, there’s a party going on right here…”🎶. I think that’s crazy though…I’m nit sure if you’re goofing on me.

              • No, no, serious. Off in the distance in deepest West or East Oakland. None tonight, though. Let me get that quote for you …

              • No, it’s ok. I’ll look it up. If it’s an article I want the whole thing. Judge came round the bases just now..like a freaking racehorse! 2 innings to go..I can’t believe I’m watching this….

              • Neither can I after the day you had! Hey, I gotta go. Get some sleep – see you tomorrow, goonight Gracie.

              • It’s almost over. I’m really shot too. Be good to sleep! I hope it goes well for Mike trow. Have a good night. Goodnight Gracie.

              • The MLB draft started today.p,min NJ. Do you follow it? Trows news will be chock full of goodies! LOL..

              • That’s where you’re more of a sports fan than me; I’m not hard core enough to follow any of the drafts.

While we”re on sports, no offense to Mr. Judge; it’s just jarring to see any sports figure wearing 99 since it’s so iconic. I’d like to see it retired in all North American sports.
Even more worthy, retire number 42 in all sports due to Jackie Robinson’s effect on the culture in general.
With all their retired numbers, won’t the Yankees have to give out numbers in the 100’s soon anyway? 🙂

              • I’ll give you 42. And speaking of retiring things, I think you need to retract that muzzle comment, no?

              • Not since I included myself in it. Just trying to make Little Susie laugh!

              • Just a joke about Susie complaining that there were too many posts. If there’s some connotation I’m missing, I apologize. Time for a break anyway.

              • Hey, seriously, if I crossed a line somehow and offended you or anyone, I would like you to remove the comment from today’s thread, and again, I apologize.

              • FYI: Today’s Asimov Quiz: Cognate Anagrams. EXAMPLE: To recant, Sir. (Starts with R, ends in S)….

              • The fireworks reference must have been another story I’m confusing this with, but,

At sunset he would often sit at his desk and gaze dreamily off at the outspread west—the dark towers of Memorial Hall just below, the Georgian court-house belfry, the lofty pinnacles of the downtown section, and that shimmering, spire-crowned mound in the distance whose unknown streets and labyrinthine gables so potently provoked his fancy. From his few local acquaintances he learned that the far-off slope was a vast Italian quarter, though most of the houses were remnants of older Yankee and Irish days. Now and then he would train his field-glasses on that spectral, unreachable world beyond the curling smoke; picking out individual roofs and chimneys and steeples, and speculating upon the bizarre and curious mysteries they might house. Even with optical aid Federal Hill seemed somehow alien, half fabulous, and linked to the unreal, intangible marvels of Blake’s own tales and pictures. The feeling would persist long after the hill had faded into the violet, lamp-starred twilight, and the court-house floodlights and the red Industrial Trust beacon had blazed up to make the night grotesque.

“Industrial Trust” is a Providence bank.

              • Where is this taking place? Boston? Gimme a minute…I hear something on the baby monitor…

              • This is Lovecraft; it’s Providence. His gravestone reads, “I AM PROVIDENCE”.
Us non-Italians like my father used to refer to Federal Hill facetiously as “Fedorial Heights” as if it were a ritzy neighborhood rather than a quasi-slum.

              • Oh yea, he will. He got so upset today. Frustrating… Do you get in any pools for the games..like from Peets or something??

              • Kevin Durant getting the MVP Trophy from Bill Russell! How cool is that!

              • He’s da man! Standing strong and proud, taking NO guff from the most vicious racism imaginable in his time.

              • And he was always a gentleman. He looks ok for 83. Remember all the crap when he married that white woman, a Miss America or something? He was always so respectful to everyone

          • Looks like deGrom’s gonna go the whole 9. We never see that anymore. Atta boy! And kudos to Collins for the faith. Cespedes just got back, now he’s hurt again. Can’t catch a break. 🙁

  4. Good morning everyone’s. Didn’t take first time so I’ll try again. Am I the only one who doesn’t know where the “v” comes into play. The second word has the”g” circled. Leaving the answer being waging. One less g. Let me know where I went wrong. Till tomorrow stay well.

  5. For some reason, GUITAR stumped me for a bit this morning. The rest was a breeze and done without pen today.

The new format looks good, Mike.

  6. Angela– thanks for the compliment. You are a lady, and definitely not a “tramp” as the old song goes. Did not see the tiny names, glad we are not anonymous. Great post and you make my mornings either laughing out loud or groaning in PUNishment.
Baseball: I am old enough to have been a Brooklyn Dodgers fan in my youth and before they moved– hated the Yankees then and swirtched to the Baltimore Orioles because they had a minor league club here in Rochester. Now? Don’t follow any team regularly but was awed by Judge’s home run yesterday or the day before–he is a true hitter. The Mets? What can I say? They can be amazing or ” lovable losers.”

    • Earl, kind Sir. The love fest continues! Thank God for being the music aficionado that I am, because for a second there I was..”Tramp…!!??” ROTFL. You know, the “tramp” stopped me dead in my tracks! But then I finished the sentence! LOL Laughing and groaning each morning? Exactly the way my family and friends describe how I affect them all day! You’re in good company! My Father was a die hard Brooklyn Dodger fan. He told me he cried when they left. And there was no place for the Yankees. He “suffered” until those “scrappy” Mets came along. I mentioned before that we couldn’t even eat Yankee Doodles! Devil Dogs only! I had to sneak over to my cousins house to get a Yankee Doodle! LOL I’m looking forward to reading about the minor league Orioles team. I didn’t know. You learn something every day. As for Judge? There are no words…but that’s never stopped me before! LOL He’s 🎶”Poetry in Motion…”🎶 And how he can run…! I’m so seriously considering getting his Jersey…(before the price goes even higher)! I’m torn..I keep thinking that when I get to the cemetery for Father’s Day, I’ll have a lot of work to do, because all that dirt will be disrupted…Poor Guy, turning over because of me! 😀💔 Tough decision. I keep telling myself it’ll be like drinking milk…doesn’t mean I want a cow… , right? So…Once again, thank you for your kind words. And it’s hard not to like the Mets either way. They have so much heart. Have the best day! 🙋🏻

  7. You work hard at this website. I manage a site and know it takes constant diligence

    • Thanks so much for your kind words! It’s truly a labor of love, but when you’re passionate about something, it’s like no work at all. I’m glad you enjoy what you see. 👍🏻

  8. Another look and solve sans pencil and paper. Then when I got on line to see what was posted and saw wavin I felt so stupid. Then
later went back and saw Kolene’s remarks. Good thing I came back else I would have been beating myself up all day today!

    • Hey Harry…Don’t do that, we need you healthy! Check the disclaimer I just posted. Hope the golf game, the tomatoes and Warriors prevail! ❤️🙋🏻

        • Ah Harry…I figured maybe you followed basketball. No biggie…Ok, rephrase..Hope the golf game, the tomatoes and “I” prevail. I’m a Warrior! I’m fighting battles all my life. For truth, justice, and the American way! 😂Miss your witty banter! ⚖🇺🇸 🙋🏻

  9. Easy puzzle for a Monday morning. New website is very nice, Mike. Thanks. Hopefully I’ve done everything correctly and my reply will go through okay.

  10. HEY EVERYONE….When Mike sent out his post this morning, there were 2 Emails. It’s obvious now that with the new format, he got slipped up. And it’s also obvious that he may still be unaware. Nobody checks emails to themselves. Because I have editing privileges, I got both. When you write these posts up, there’s always going to be errors. My first time out of the gate, I did 5 corrections and I still worried about how it read. Mike was so concerned this morning about getting all the info out about the new format, that he didn’t double check the new editing option that we have. That first post with his “ding” went live. He made the corrections, but it never re-published as an email. It corrected itself here. Getting both emails, I caught it and shelved some of the earlier comments correcting him. I didn’t want him to feel bad, especially since, if you’d look above, you’ll see that it’s correct. He had no reason to think otherwise. So, we all know it’s “waggin”, and I’m sure both Mike and I will be sure to read all the new instructions that came with the upgrade. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, huh? And just for the record, I’d have his back even if he didn’t catch the “blip”. Despite the fact that he don’t pay me! 😂 Just Sayin’. ❤️🙋🏻

    • Oh no, a leaked email!!! Guess I’ll be the next to testify!!! I thought something was off with these comments as the website looked fine to me. Thanks for clearing it up, Angela. 😇👍🏻

      • Anytime, Big Guy. EVERY TIME ❤️ Big Guy. Maybe once in a while you check your Emai, though! New instructions..We need to read! Can’t have the blog going to the DOGS! Damn near had me ready to call out the National Guard! 😂😂🙋🏻

  11. At least you sub-let to a good tenant. 😂 But seriously, check your Email. I probably exceeded your allotted usage for the day! That Coke you promised me? It’s now up to a bottle of Johnny Walker Black. Again, Just Sayin’….🍾 🙋🏻

    • I know what a Pacer is! I fall asleep watching Pro basketball and baseball but can watch golf all afternoon!

      • Hey Harry, how’re doing? Yea, I know what a Pacer is too..a horse, right? I like your Pacers, but Mgmt needs to spend some money and get the heavy weights. Doesn’t seem to happen. You just love your golf! The heart wants what it wants. Nothing wrong there. I can watch some golf, but it’s slow,..and all that whispering! You know that’s not me!! Slow and quiet? Not so much! LOL. I’d be drummed off the course! I watch it all. Baseball, football, hockey, basketball. Tonight, after the crazy ass day I had, I’m afraid I may fall asleep. And this game is so important. There’s always recording it, but you know that’s like the old bloom off the rose… How’re the tomatoes faring?

    • Mike, we got another bug. The updated post may have given you new meaning. You got 2 icons now. I was thinking, you decide to take a few days off, I think you need to look for your old pal, Geraldo was it? Tell him to suit up….😂❤️🙋🏻

      • I noticed that. I can reply to whatever people say on my own post with the old icon. It makes me log in as a new user to initiate a new comment and start a new thread. That’ll take some time to figure out…

        • God bless America, huh? All these new fangled inventions! ROTFL. Are we having fun yet? So, seriously, Geraldo? 😂 🙋🏻

  12. Well, that was exciting for a Monday morning. Times like this, I’m glad I’m 3 hours behind.
Just a slight pause at GUAVA, and a double take to see if the sailboat was sinking — looks like the Kiwis pitch-polling at the America’s Cup!
    “When is a door not a door…..”?

Not to confuse things anymore, but I’ve always had my credentials filled out as Email in the first box, and Name in the second including this weekend, not as in the description I see above. That’s how they look to me right now, so let’s see how this goes. In case it doesn’t work, cheers from
    STEVE IN OAKLAND 😉

    • It was different from what I had to fill in, and I emailed support to have them fix it. They are defined now and visitors shouldn’t have any trouble. All the kinks are working themselves out and I’ll have a handle on it all soon enough. 😀

    • Dear Steve in Oakland….You made it…Unscathed! Nice touch with the America’s Cup! The whole blog is A-JAR right now! We’re trying! Confuse, you say? 🎶”Ball of Confusion”🎶 “…HA..I think both Mke and I would pay good money right now to be 3 hours behind! 😂🙋🏻

  13. Hmmm. I don’t really understand that, but don’t waste time on me. I will just repeat that I see my email in the first box and name in the second, and no directions or labels.

The names are smaller, but I *really* like the fact that it clearly shows who is posting *and* who they’re replying to!

    • I think they’re figuring it out just fine! Now if I could stop having to log in as a new user to start a new thread…. 🤔🤔🤔

      • Try deleting yourself as the new user. All you should lose is the few posts with the “new identity” It should give you a prompt warning what will be deleted.
I THINK!!! The spool of thread asked, “How ya doin’, pal”? Ever the wise guy, the needle answered, “Sew, sew”! …It’s been a lonnnnnnnng day! 😂🙋🏻

    • …and Mike and Angela .. I worked in computer support for 37 years, and upgrades ALWAYS have unforseen bugs to work out, no matter how much planning you do, or what assurances the vendor gives you. Just ask the DMV or the airlines. No Worries!!

      • Let’s try not talking about it. Let’s talk about something else..say…Aaron Judge. Ok, me first…”OMG!..Those legs.”..! Ok, Steve, you’re next..🏇⚾️ 🙋🏻

          • Don’t need to do any research on this BOY!! ❤️ Already made him my Screen Saver, Wallpaper.. Even ordered the Christmas cards…I really think that Jerseys inevitable. “Father forgive me..”..all new meaning. ⚾️🙋🏻

        • Sorry, don’t care if it’s a different sport, no athlete should ever wear 99 again. Sacrilege.

          • Inflection..?..Hold up. We talking Judge? Did you read the story behind it? The kid is major stand up. 💆🏻

              • Yea, Come on, I expect better from you. And I’m the anti-Yank in the group. Well Mike too, but different “ballgame”! Don’t hate, the kid’s Aces. And humble. This is God given talent, you can’t “learn” what he’s doing. Someday his name will be right up there with the greats in Monument Park. Watch a game, watch this kids stanch, all 6’7″ of him. Watch how he connects. Even when they pitch him away, he’ll pull in that direction. He connects either side. This kid is the real McCoy. No matter where he plays. I wish he belonged to us. Your bad is acknowledged, and I’m still fond of you. This must be that Curmudgeon stuff you were telling me about. 🙇🏻

              • Nah, I just need to engage my brain before posting, especially when you”ve both had such a stressful morning. My apologies.
I need a break now anyway.

              • Been there. Sooooo done that. Told you, the size 8 has been in my mouth more times than I can count.(And you know math is not my forte)! LOL..It’s life! I just got caught off guard that you as a sports fan, would say that. No apologies needed! We’re sports fans…shake it off! Anyway, once you see him in action, you’ll jump on that “WAGGIN” too!! Enjoy your lunch….Catch you later! ⚾️🙋🏻

              • Thanks. 👍🙋‍♂️ Hey, emojis sometimes don’t translate well, but I thought this one was a hockey stick at first: 🤳

              • Android to iPhone picks up differently. Even iPad to iPhone if the versions are different. That’s how they get us to spend more money. No reason to thank me, told you I got your back. I’m just looking forward to you seeing him. Get this, I’m seeing totally different emojis on my phone and iPad from this post. The one you thought was a hockey stick I think is an extended arm with a cell phone, you know like when one takes a selfie.

      • Kindred soul. I did for 23! Made promises I knew I couldn’t keep. Spent a lot of time in the confessional! Until we did a program for the Parish…”Whatdya’ mean, “no more absolution..? I contribute here….” 👼🏻 🙋🏻

  14. Hi, Steve! Thank you for the article about his son taking care of the reel-to-reels that are about to expire. I’m glad he’s getting the job done. What a wealth of music!
Thanks for the Rose is Rose site. I used to read it before they took it out of our paper.
I won’t be able to comment tomorrow because of taking Jerry to get a stint put into his heart, a procedure that Jerry really wants to get done so don’t worry, but it will take most of the day. We have to be at the hospital for a minimum of 6 hours and then home to take a nap.
I hate our new site. The whole thing hurts my eyes and I have to use a magnifying glass to see the teeny, tiny names at the bottom of the comments. Before coming here to write this in word and then copy & paste, I read the whole today’s site and my vision is so blurry I can barely read what I am writing. I hope I get used to it.
    Until Wednesday.

    • Hi Lelia – Good luck to Jerry. I’m not a doctor and I don’t know his procedure, but I did want to mention that our SF Giants manager Bruce Bochy had two stents put in his heart earlier this year through a vein in his arm while he was awake sitting in a chair talking to the technician. He asked when he was going to start, and the guy said that one was already in, and he was putting the second one in right then. So hopefully, it won’t be as scary as it might sound! Good luck from all of us!

      • Hi, Steve! Thank you for your reassuring comments to Jerry & me. I read every word to Jerry, and he said for me to tell you “Thank you very much.”
Jerry and I watched part of the championship Ice Hockey game last night. That’s the most Ice Hockey I have ever watched & enjoyed. It was exciting seeing the winner skate around so happily, holding the trophy up high.
Have a great day! See you Wednesday if not before.

  15. Hi, Mike et al!! Because of having so many grandkids asking me riddles, I heard the answer to today’s cartoon puzzle ages ago.
Tomorrow I’ll solve the Jumble puzzle sitting in a waiting room while Jerry has a stint put into his heart. I suggested that it might not be a good idea at his age, but he wanted it enough to make the appointment himself so I hope he’s right & I was wrong. We’ll be at the hospital for 6 hours & then come home to nap, so I might not get to post tomorrow for the first time in a very long time.
Mike, because of all the positive comments I read today about the new site, I do not enjoy saying how much I dislike it. I could not read some of the teeny, tiny names of the people who are not daily commenters, and the whole thing left my eyes blurry. I am going to make a serious effort at getting used to it, but thanks for listening and thanks for all your time & effort for trying to make it better & more user friendly. I am due for new glasses. Maybe that will fix my problem.
Enjoy your day, and see you Wednesday if not tomorrow.

      • Angela, thank you for your good thoughts. Every kind word will be helpful for us tomorrow.

        • God is good, I know you know that. There’ll be much prayer and good thoughts coming your way trow. I’ll light a candle for you both. Be well. 🙏🏻

    • We’ll be thinking of you and Jerry tomorrow, Lelia! I hope it’s quick and you all come home real soon. There is an option to enlarge the print in windows and your grandkids can do it for you in seconds. I know I’d mess it up having to type it all out. I plan to change the layout every month to keep it fresh so if you don’t enjoy this one than July’s will be right around the corner. Have a great day — in the 90’s here and HOT! 😉

      • You mean the JumbleAnswers format is going to be just like the New England weather? Noooooooo! You are indeed a glutton for punishment!! 😱😅

      • Hi, Mike! Thank you for your kind words to Jerry & me. I read them to Jerry and he said for me to tell you, “Thank you very much. Ninety degrees, huh. We are trying for 112 by the end of the week.”
We both cheered for your Red Sox last night on ESPN. They look like a good team.
Thank you so much for telling me that I can enlarge the print in Word. I am already getting a little more used to it.
See ya’ Wednesday if not tomorrow late.

        • Not their greatest game, Lelia, but anything they did was better than the commentators they had on — they were abysmal! We’ll all be thinking of you tomorrow. 😀🤞🏻

    • Lelia, prayers and positive thoughts go out to Jerry. I agree that hard to read on my cell phone, however, using computer now and reads much clearer. Th name of poster is much lighter than the words in the post, however, I have no problem reading using the computer. Probably most of us do like to use our phones to do posting. 🙂

      • Hi, Sue! You always have something so sweet & thoughtful to say, and today is no exception. Thanks for your prayers!!
Actually, all I have is a computer. I have bought expensive lap tops and I Phones for children & grandchildren, but I have not been brave enough to buy myself anything but a simple cell phone so far. Maybe some day.

  16. Leila thought. The same thing. Wish the ads were back maybe there is one for eyeglasses.

    • Hi, Obe 1! Good one! Made me laugh! Maybe your comment will remind me to make that appointment with the eye doctor.
As Mike & Steve would say, keep your comments coming!

  17. Lelia, Sending you and Jerry best wishes for tomorrow & a speedy recovery. I’m not having trouble seeing the postings but I have a desktop with a big screen.

    • Hi, Caroline! Thank you for your best wishes for tomorrow and a big thank you for a speedy recovery. My I Mac computer has a big screen also, so I am going to make myself go for new glasses. I keep putting it off when there is a medical thing I have to do for Jerry. When you get your wish for the speedy recovery, I will call and make that eye doctor appointment.

  18. Hey Angela – I see that Chris Christie (he of Bridge-gate) is being considered for an administration post.
The only bridge term I want to see associated with this president is One-No-Trump!
