CARTOON ANSWER:  THE POPULAR CAR MODEL’S PRICE WAS BEING…

UREVPIND =  DRIVEN UP

🚗 Mike, This one’s REALLY for you! 🚗

🍩  HAPPY NATIONAL DOUGHNUT DAY 🍩

Good morning, Mike, Good morning, Everyone!!

So, Mike, coincidence much? Hearing that Twilight Zone Theme music in the background? Think you’d like THIS new car? JUMBLE MOTORS presents the “MOSAIC”. Straight off the assembly line right into your heart! How cool is this?

MOSAIC, defined by Oxford as a picture or pattern produced by arranging together small pieces of stone, tile, glass, etc. A PUZZLE….! This CARtoon may just rank up there in the Top Ten!  Just look at those happy faces!  Who wouldn’t love this nifty little two-seater, complete with the monogrammed “J” and a intelligent personal assistant to help with all your Jumble needs? We could call him Javeffed.  (Hey, if the President can do it…)!  I tried! Anyway, we seem to be putting it in reverse here…THE WORDS! Purge, Heavy, Poetic, 1-2-3…we’ve seen them before, scrambled anew. I want to say we’ve seen Tandem also, but I’m not sure. Or are we BRAKEing precedent? Tandem, I had to do a DOUBLE take.  Not an everyday word by no means, and there’s always that tendency to want to end it in ED. The scramble is great! But I RODE it down, and was back on track. The salesman, saying the price has risen,  AUTOmatically gave us UP.  And DRIVEN was a given! Back to the CARtoon, the sticker price started at $25K. We don’t know what it’s up to now. I’d hope it came in other colors, though, because this mustard is a must not! Maybe negotiate over that. The woman with the newspaper, obviously doing the Jumble, she’s obviously…You finish the sentence..

A lot of Donut chains are offering freebies today. DONUT about you, but I think I’ll grab one with my cappuccino. I never met a Jelly that I didn’t like!

Hoping we all get to find that road less traveled…I wish you a great day! 🚘 🙋🏻

  1. Hi Angela and all,
The first three words came pretty easily. With these letters, I figured the last word was up and the first ended in ed. Though I was wrong about ed, the d helped me find tandem with my pad, and driven followed quickly after that.

    • 🎶”Sweet Caroline”🎶, Good morning.Tandem may be the word today to DRIVE us all crazy. I immediately thought of you y’day, when the Climate Pact news was announced. Sitting, enjoying a ball game, and I got the alert on my phone. Sobering news. The NY Daily News headline today…in HUGE letters,,,”Trump to World; Drop Dead”. So, where do we go from here? I pray a whole lot…Hope you have a great day. 🙋🏻

      • It was a sad day for the US but a lot can still be done. The new Jumble car is not a gas guzzler! Could the cartoon have been timed for this announcement? Hope you and everyone have a great day, too.

        • One would hope so! They do seem to be right in line lately with environmental issues! Hoping greed doesn’t FUEL an end to US….Hoping you have sunshine, 🌞🙋🏻

  2. The showroom model that was demonstrated on Friday brought two cyclists from the POE TICket venue to purge the Jumble answers site of heavy-weight responders.
Great puzzle/clue words–I was expecting a more difficult task today, but always feel satisfied when I can complete everything. Have a great weekend everyone.

    • Good morning, Sir! Heavy-weight post this early in the morning! You have the RIGHT OF WAY…with words. I agree, great puzzle. The CARtoon, exceptionally clever. And you mentioned that you never write anything down. Kudos! We have another nice day today, here downstate. Hope you do also. Enjoy your day. 🙋🏻

      • Angela–I have to qualify that “never”–I try to write nothing down but don’t always succeed—today was a mind-only day!

        • Earl, No explanation needed! No grading here, and as I said before, if Mike did, it’d have to be on the curve! (Which the Mets pitching could have used y’day! Missing those old curve balls)! Even when I know the word first glance, I like to see it written. Brick and mortar mentality, I guess. But I do it in pen. Always! That I got a PENchant for! 😀🙋🏻

    • Hi Earl – When those two cyclists rode up on their TANDEM cycle, did you ask to see their POETIC license?

        • I think yours are better and many more than I can think up, but I’ll take any encouragement I can get! 👍😄 By the way, the other day? I decided it’s not plagiarism or imitation, it’s a case of “Great Minds Think Alike”. Yep, that’s our story, and *I’m* sticking to it anyway!

    • LOL..Good morning, Rita. Great one..!!! I’m imagining in George Clooney’s voice!!! 🎧 Have a great day! 🙋🏻

  3. Great job, Angela! I ALMOST wrote last night in my email that “what if it was a car related puzzle” but thought there was NO CHANCE of it happening. Ha Ha Ha!!! The newspaper that the woman was holding had a few comics on it. The only one I could make out was Family Circus because of the round shape. Jumble was below that and Peanuts would be my guess for the other one. There was writing on the back of the paper but it looks like “scribble” to me. I hope you don’t mind, but I enlarged the picture and added it to your post. Have a great day everyone!!! 🙂

    • Get out! Physic powers? Add that to the Super Hero resume! When I saw it this morning I was like, huh? I thought for a minute we were hacked! LOL. Mind? This is your ball park, I just play in it! LOL. You know everyone loves seeing the graphic. Lotta sunshine here. 🌞🙋🏻

    • Since I didn’t notice any posts yesterday about new cars, I’m assuming that you and Angela were using your super-secret Jared Kushner insecure back-channel, and it was Jumble Jeff himself who hacked it. He must be a real Quick-Draw McGraw to get it submitted in time.

My guess for the cartoon of the little guy with the big nose is that it might be “Ziggy”, unless Jimmy Durante is making a comeback. “Goodnight Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are.”

    • Mike, You know when you’re ahead 7-4, and you go to the rest room and you come back and you’re now down 9-7 and they pulled your pitcher! You know those nights?

      • I chose to watch Live PD tonight, but I’m following the games with the split screen and between commercials. It’s sure getting C-R-A-Z-Y!!!

          • I’m afraid every time I hit that button another angel may get their wings!

            • We got trashed. I was watching the Giants. They shut out the Phils. 10-0. It’s over too. What else is on?

              • Oh and I heard you cooked the scallops last night, lol! When you told us about national donut day, I couldn’t resist and went to Dunkins for a jelly one. Couldn’t help myself! 😋

              • Yea. They cooked. They’re so quick to do. You put the thought in my head. Do you do them with butter and garlic? I could eat then every day. I got a Dunkin’ donut too. There was a crowd! LOL.

              • Italian here! Garlic! LOL. Butter, splash with lemon juice. I like fried also but I rather grill them. You know you’re gonna open up a can of worms with the Gravy/Sauce controversy! Lol. Now I’m going to start thinking about food! I ended up not eating after we spoke because I fell asleep on the boat and brought the food back instead. I just fell out…I blame the sun! .

              • That’s why I took so long to reply. I tried to find my original comment where it all began but didn’t have any luck. Scallops are my favorite seafood (even above lobster). Like I said, all the seafood “shacks” are opening for the season so I need to visit ALL of them before the tourists hit!

              • It wasn’t here. You said it..scallops and onion rings! My friends were still here and they fired up the barby! And then I was up again until like 230! Is that how you spell barby? Do you get a lot of tourists? I mean so many that you can’t get on the restaurants?

              • Gas or charcoal? I’d be scared to death to cook them on coals. I like to just barely undercook them and wrap them in foil to finish. Delish!

              • Gas. You just need like 2-4 minutes. He threw them in a basket. I usually put them on skewers. They were decadent! LOL. And remember this was after they did steaks. And we ate at CitiField! I’m always shaking my head!

              • Speaking of Citi Field, I googled the menu. I’d be happy with a Nathan’s Dog (LOVE THEM WITH ALL MY ❤️), or a FUKU chicken sandwich. Lot’s of great stuff though.

              • The food choices are phenomenal! Seriously. Gourmet. At a ballpark. I think they say it’s the best food at any park on the country. The place is very beautiful we had a Nathan’s in our local Mall and it closed. Every time we go to Brooklyn I go the original one in Coney Island. Have to! The FUKU smell was so good! LOL

              • OMG!!!! A freak show! LOL. Yes you spelled it right. It’s insane. You can become a little sick to your stomach watching it really. I went to the M&Ms. Weak!

              • Yea it is contagious. See now I’m thinking Nathan’s fries! I get them in Costco they’re frozen, but I’d say 85-90% as good if you do them right. Well maybe not 90. Jeez. I really hope I’m not going to make them tonight! LOL.

              • They’re frozen so I just pop them in the toaster oven. I don’t trust myself with a fryolator! Prob burn the joint down! LOL

              • You started it, no? Listen I went to the fries! LOL. So weak! I need to wait up until 1 anyway because I have to call and wake my friend. Anyway. All I had was that dumb donut and cappuccino today. I slept thru the late lunch/early dinner! LOL. I deserve these fries! 😂😂

              • I believe it. Remember I told you about my nephew? Created a monster! You know what I mean.

              • Is that like what they call a Fry Baby or something? But the tips? How do you cook them, just place them on the grill?

              • I like to cook. They’re always here cooking. I very rarely do any take out. Just pizza, really

              • Oh of course. That’s different. But someone’s always cooking here. I fell asleep so late last night This morning. And I would have slept. I need to sleep. But I smell coffee at like 3:30. Folgers in your cup! Hard to sleep thru that aroma. Ok 2 minutes. My fries! 🤗

              • LOL I really like Folgers. And I think I favor Dunkin’ Donuts over Starbucks. One. Sec have to make the call.

              • Did you catch it all? Beautiful woman. Nice accent. So he tells me he’s up already! Ah duh…then call me, no? This may be why I’m dizzy…I shake my head so much! LOL

              • Yes, she is. Great accent. You know to a Brooklynites ears! Yes, I’m a really good friend. But I have to say so are they. Most of the time! LOL

              • They know sleep isn’t my strong suit! Yes, get some rest. I’m giving myself like a half hour. To digest! LOL. As always, a pleasure. See you tomorrow! Buona sera! 🙋🏻

              • No, not live. I’m thinking to watch today’s Yankee slaughter of the Jays. It’s on now on Yes. Rather watch the Nats, live tho.

  4. Like Rita, I too could have used that little car (which was red and blue in my paper) to navigate “tandem”. Other than that it was an easy solve. Happy Friday everyone.

    • Hi Betty. Red and blue would have been welcome! My paper and on line showed this terrible 2-toned mustard shade. That little car? A thought for Jeff perhaps? Create a toy car that acts as a Jumbler? The line forms here!
Go Warriors! Wishing you a great day! 🌞🙋🏻

  5. Hi all! My favorite clue word was poetic. I had to self-jumble POETIC once and TANDEM twice. Loved the cartoon picture with that cute little cartoon car with such happy buyers and the puzzle answer pun. All in all, a fun Jumble.
    Enjoy your day!

    • Hi Lelia. Yes, it was one of the cutest in a while. Hoping you and yours enjoy your day also! 🌞🙋🏻

  6. Mike, I’m wishing I had not asked for recipes as busy as you have been lately. My daughter has many white wine sauce recipes so I don’t need that one. I would like the gravy one that you simmered all day but only if you have the ingredients memorized and can type them out in a minute or two. Don’t need all the directions. I’ll just use the ingredients from your list that Jerry likes and make gravy. I was mostly wondering if what you simmered all day was chicken, beef, or pork or none of the above.
I’m wondering if you have started your elaborate process of preparing corn for your Thanksgiving feast; buying it at its peak sweetness, shucking, blanching, cutting it off the cob with that special tool you told us about, and freezing it. Makes me hungry just thinking about it. We bought and ate some good corn on the cob yesterday but I don’t know if the time for peak sweetness is now or a little later in June. Come to think of it, I read that to get peak sweetness one has to buy the corn where it was grown, as you do and we used to do, rather than from a grocery store as we did yesterday.
    Enjoy your day!!

    • Hi Lelia. You may have misunderstood when I used the word “gravy”. What I was referring to was my “Italian gravy” meaning spaghetti sauce. I’d be happy to give you that recipe if you’re still interested! I truly hope you had a wonderful lunch with your daughter at the Olive Garden. I am taking everyone to see Wonder Woman tomorrow and hope we can stop there for a quick lunch afterwards. Have a great day and talk soon!

  7. Steve, thank you for both of your lovely comments to me yesterday. I just found the second one and was glad I had gone back & looked.
I did what you suggested and listened to Dust in the Wind by Kansas. Loved the song. After seeing their hair, I now understand why Josh’s hair looks the way it does, but being so unfamiliar with the look I’m beginning to wonder if I have listened to any popular music since the 50’s.
A few days ago I decided to ponder why I know so little about 60’s music so I replayed the 60’s in my mind. Married in l960, had both children within the next few years so mommy began singing Mary Had A Little Lamb, Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star, & Jesus Loves Me. Then I finished my BA at ASU, began MA, and in l969 I got a teaching certificate, signed my first teaching contract, and children entered first & third grades. There went the 60’s.
I have 2 funny things to tell you but they’ll have to wait because my day is slipping away while I sit here enjoying talking to you. Duty calls.
Enjoy the rest of your day!!

    • Thanks, Lelia. I was really amused when I watched Josh on youtube say how much he ” loved the 90’s” in a tone that I would have used referring to the Civil War era, or maybe the Big Band 30’s Swing Era, substituting Benny Goodman or Glenn Miller for Soundgarden. While I was growing up, any reference to the 1990’s sounded like an unimaginably distant future. Perspective, I guess.

Looking forward to your stories, but don’t let it interfere with your second book!

  8. Hi all – No problem with TANDEM because it was a well-known computer company when I was working. No, I CRASHED at POETIC: Let’s see,
    OPTIC-E No, extra E.
TOPIC-E That pesky extra E again.
ICEPOT – I can just *barely* remember my grandparents having an icebox – a wooden box with an enclosure on top where the iceman cometh every day to insert a big block of ice with his icetongs – before they got their first refrigerator, but I don’t think, and sincerely hope, that they never had an ICEPOT.
Then wrote PIT and POETIC jumped out of my brain-bilge.
Have a great day, all – sunny and warm here.

  9. Don’t let that sleazy car salesman overcharge you for the Jumble solver feature – all it is is a link to a web browser with the homepage set to “https://jumbleanswer.wordpress.com/”.

    • LOL. Not true! Look at the cartoon. Read the post. He talks. In George Clooney’s voice! 😉🙋🏻

      • Oh, no, it’s true and trivial. Don’t you have an option on your iphone that will speak your texts and emails? (Although you may have burned yours out by now!) 🙂 My car speaks its options already when entering phone numbers, etc. Call it the Stephen Hawking option. If it had an option to sing the answers in Sinatra’s voice, you’d have one in your driveway right now, even if you don’t drive!

Hey, my wife noticed that the car’s grill has 4 little circles like where you write in the Jumble words and answers. Jeff should have put 6 there, and you could show off your solved words to oncoming traffic! Instead of a traffic incident alert, you’d need a spoiler alert (mounted on the … wait for it…..)

            • Good morning. Going one better. Turning the other cheek. 🎶”Let it Be…”🎶 🙋🏻

              • Didn’t mean to be insulting – after all you said Motor Mouth first. Apologies if necessary Gracie.
                Hope we’re still good ❤️

              • Called out by a WOMAN again today (6/3)! There goes the sisterhood! KUDOS to you anyway – I would still be asleep posting at that time.

              • LOL. Yea, what’s up with that? Been there, done that, soooo over that! Hoodwinked by The Sisterhood! . Whadda’ gonna’ do. Can’t please em ‘all! 😉🙋🏻

      • I was looking at the numbers before. Passed 800 also. It’s a landslide! 😂

        • We don’t hear from John much anymore, and he must be happy with his Mariners performance tonight! 8-0 in, wait for it………… the 3rd inning!!!!!!!!!

          • John went on a European cruise. I think he’ll be back the 21st or something. He was excited about being in London for the Queens bday. 3rd?

              • LOL. I think he said. See you on the 21st. So I don’t think he was thinking about checking in here! LOL

              • Did you look into what I said about the steak tips? I have to find the article. Do you like U2? I switched to jimmy Kimmel. They’re on, it’s a repeat from last week or so

              • I did, and was surprised! It’s just a term we use and I couldn’t believe the controversy — I would have never known so thank you. I don’t do “odd” cuts of meat as the article implied. I just buy a pack at Sam’s Club (warehouse club owned by Wal-Mart) and use the best looking cuts. Although I did by a YUGE beef tenderloin and trimmed/cleaned it for my Memorial Day BBQ. What a treat!

              • I know right? After I saw you write it a few times, I went looking for them. I knew I had never heard it before. I couldn’t find them, And then I googled it…how’d we survive before Google? LOL. And I was so surprised when I read about the New England connection. Amazing the things you can learn every day. I live for learning new things. Seriously! LOL. Tenderloin is a delight! HA. See now I need to eat something! Maybe raisins and pretzels. I’m not going to do all that seafood now. But oh God I’m thinking about it! 😂😂

              • So what do YOU call them? Almost everyone eats steak, so do you say we’re having “sirloin tips” for dinner instead? My mom brought over some onion rings from one of the seafood stands she visited for dinner. HEAVEN if you ask me and the taste brings me right back to my childhood…..

              • I have no idea. I never heard it until you said it. We just do steak! But I’m intrigued by these tips! LOL. I suppose one can just cut a steak into “tips”. I’m telling you, I couldn’t find them! So then how do you cook them? I’m that way with Nathan’s fries. Just the smell and I’m conjuring up all kinds of memories! I’m always crying in my fries! 😂

              • Tips, chunks, bits, or just steak works I guess. I marinade them with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, evoo, and black pepper. Highest heat possible for until medium rare. Just a quick weeknight meal.

              • You just throw them on the grill? No skewers or anything? I’m always looking for something new.

              • Sure do! Chunks of sirloin bits on the grill. I have a tenderizer that pokes holes in them so the marinade gets in them. Marinade for a few hours or overnight– doesn’t matter. 👍🏻

              • Mike. Did you see Harry’s post the other day? I can’t understand what trouble he’s having. He said he wished he could get back!

              • The thing is that he’s back. I think his issue is that he wants his “original” login info back. Not a fan of his name, if it really is that, then my apologies.

              • I don’t know. Sensitive subject I guess. I’ll Google NH congressman with unique name! 😂😂.

              • No just a running Italian joke. The gravy vs sauce thing! LOL. Fights break out! 😂😂
