TEHET = TEETH

SOKKI = KIOSK

VHIRET = THRIVE

TOTOPA = POTATO

CARTOON ANSWER: THE PATIENT WAS TOLD TO LOWER HIS BLOOD PRESSURE, AND HE:

TETKIOTHROATO = TOOK IT TO HEART

Mike, This one’s for you! 🍧

Good morning, everyone!            Finally…Friday!

After a few days of ABC words, today I blinked at Teeth. Could be something about the H encased in Es;  I don’t know, I just sat here and stared at it. No STALL at Kiosk, first saw rivet with Thrive, ( H again…What the H)?, and then Potato.

Today’s cartoon really didn’t offer that much of a clue, not graphically anyway. The dialogue was the key. Numbers, lowering blood pressure…Common phrase, “Took it to Heart”. Didn’t skip a beat…

HEARTfully wishing you all a good day…Until tomorrow. ❤️🙋🏻

  1. Kiosk took a little bit of time for me. Maybe the stethoscope around the doctor’s neck is a clue, if that’s what it is. Hard for me to tell for sure. Happy Friday to you and all.

    • Good morning, 🎶Sweet Caroline🎶 You’re 100% right! Of course the stethoscope is a clue! (And you’re kind enough to say “maybe”)…Could it be any more obvious? There it is: the ULTIMATE Heart clue! I’ll have to turn in my membership card after this! Having the worst morning. Went to Shop Rite at the ungodly hour of 5:30, and got stuck in the parking lot because of an accident. I should have submitted the puzzle before I left! Downhill ever since…Stethoscope! Be still my heart….LOL Thanks for the catch! ❤️Hearts and 🌷 Flowers to you! 🙋🏻

      • Hmmmm – I’m not so sure, because stethoscopes are used for lungs too, so maybe it’s only a clue in retrospect and it’s just standard cartoon doctor attire — or maybe I’m just way totally overthinking this!
        Yup, that’s it. Angela, I surely hope your day goes better than your morning. And my only pause was on ‘potato(e)’.

        • Hey Steve. Or maybe you’re just being nice and letting me down gently. Thanks, but ‘gotta record this as a swing and a miss. No, wait, erase that, I SAW the stethoscope; I got caught looking. Have a great day! 🙋🏻

      • I think Steve’s right that stethoscopes are so standard, they are hardly noticeable. Do doctors still carry them these days? I don’t go often.
        Sorry about your day. I think you’ll need a vacation when Mike gets back.

        • Hey Caroline, Some still do hang them around their necks. Thanks, this day will live in infamy! LOL I think when Mike gets back he might not recognize the place! 😊🙋🏻

  2. Super easy puzzle today. Had the answer before the clue words and didn’t bat an eye on any of them! Basement project on hold today in lieu of raking moss and overseeding lawn. At least I’ll be outdoors!

    • Good morning, John. ‘Bat an eye’ would have been a good pun for Potato. I just said..Potato! I started some renovations here y’day, and I’m already gritting my ‘teeth. I keep hearing my Father’s voice saying, ” Stop thinking so much about looks, find a man that can change a damn light bulb”! HA…Kudos for all your home projects! Enjoy the outdoors! 🙋🏻

      • Change a light bulb Angela? I guess you have to update your five criteria! 😉

        • Steve, Steve…Like who wound you up today? You’re like the Energizer Bunny…I keep hearing His voice since I DIDN’T take His advice on that one. We had 2 different lists…🙋🏻

  3. Hmmmm a couple of weeks ago I mention Dan Quayle and today he uses POTATO….very interesting said ????????????

      • Are you restricting yourself to a yes/no answer so as not to get into trouble? 🙂

        Hint: The answer is “Yes”.

        • 1- NO
          2- I was christened Angelina Trouble
          3- “Oh, that’s our Shortstop”
          Look it up…. 🙋🏻

      • Hey Angela

        #1 Good for you!

        #2 🎶 “If you’re lookin’ for trouble, you came to the right place. If you’re lookin’ for trouble, just look right in my face”. I’m sure Lelia would recognize this.

        #3 I looked it up – excellent!

        • Hey Steve:
          1- Touché
          2- His middle name was Misery(Look it up)
          3 – DROP THE MIC 🎤

      • Angela, Re: “Trouble”

        When my mother first heard the line “I was born standing up”, she commented “Ow!”.

  4. Another easy one today – got the Jumble, Sudoku, & Crossword all without any problems – have been enjoying all the lively dialogue this week – looking forward to hearing about the vacation.
    Have a great weekend everyone.

    • Hi Rita. Great way to start any day, Puzzles! Lively dialogue? To put it mildly! I told Mike I think I turned his sedate, cultured Jumble blog into an out of control free for all! Guess that’s what happens when a sweet New England man turns the reins over to an unbridled NY woman LOL Hope you have a great day ! 🙋🏻

      • That’s just like what quintessential Providence author H P Lovecraft found on his ill-fated and brief stay in NYC. His story ‘He’ is inspired by his reactions of culture shock.

        • Steve, Uh, Ouch! Comparing me to one of the worst areas in Brooklyn during the 1920s to boot? Glad this post didn’t come in before your other! Jeez, talk about Giveth and taketh away! Quintessentially wrong analogy here. I’m comparing me to a Summers day, I art more lovely and more temperate. ( It’s either I go with this or today I do end up in the papers)! 🙋🏻

      • I didn’t mean that as personally as you took it, just a New England vs New York thing. No offense intended. God knows those city boys tried to make us feel inferior. Maybe they were right!

        • Steve, The man wrote horror stories, for Pete’s sake. I call ‘me as I see ’em. Slight offense taken…

      • If I *had* meant it personally, I would have referred to you as “The Horror at Red Hook”. 🙂

        Ok, my spring has wound down. I’m going to go take a nap. Over and out.

        • Steve, Like seriously, what’d you have for breakfast? Red Hook? I’ve never stepped foot in Red Hook. And, Horror?….Horror? Remember that last nerve I was telling you about? 🤷🏻‍♀️

      • I think I recall you saying you live/lived in Brooklyn, I used to live in Flushing and worked on 5th Avenue in NYC. Just thought I’d mention it.

        • Hi Rita. Yes, I was born in Gravesend, Brooklyn and spent most of my life there. I only left there to give my Mother a home of her own. We lived in apartments in Brooklyn. Private houses, but they weren’t our own. Flushing? My Mets! I spent a lot of time in Flushing! Late nights after the game, sitting in traffic all the way back to Brooklyn! I’m still in Brooklyn a lot, I have a bunch of cousins still there. I worked in the city too. (For some Reason, Brooklyn people always called NYC, the city). Did you also? I don’t know how long it’s been since you’ve been to the “city”, soooo much has changed. As I’m sure it has all over. Some good, some bad. Mostly good I think. You wouldn’t believe what a zoo it is now at Trump Tower. Such a waste of my tax dollars! LOL. Rita, my contractors have left for the day, I’m on the way out to eat and buy shoes, right now the only thing I think will save this day for me! LOL If you’d like, reply to me. I’d very much enjoy speaking with you more. 🙋🏻

  5. Good Morning Everyone. Easy one again today. I had the solution before looking at the clue words but did pause at teeth for some reason. Couldn’t seem to get the ees and the tees in the proper order. At any rate, with the puzzle completed I’m off to the gym. Gorgeous weekend predicted here in San Francisco so I’m looking forward to enjoying the sun. Happy Friday everyone.

    • Hi Betty. What I wouldn’t give right now to join you at the gym! Everything today is like pulling teeth! Enjoy the weekend, enjoy the sun, buy a pair of shoes! I’m soooo buying shoes today; may be my only salvation! 😊🙋🏻

  6. Hi, John, ditto to your solve. Words easy & cartoon answer came quickly as I took my first bite of breakfast before leaving for Jerry’s routine cholesterol check for his heart. That gave it away for me.
    I hope you saw my late comment apologizing for saying aspirator rather than respirator. Sometimes I dismiss my mistakes easily, but that one made me feel careless. However, maybe they would have to aspirate you if you did not wear the respirator to scrape paint. I’m grasping for straws. I’m going to let it go now because I already know that you forgave me. Enjoy the outdoors & fresh air!!

  7. Angela, thanks for your much appreciated comments to me yesterday. Not having said that for a few days reminds me of the old man whose wife told him to tell her that he loved her, that she wanted to hear it, and that she needed to hear it. He replied, “On our wedding day, I told you that I love you. If anything changes, I’ll let you know.” The first day that you did the blog for us, I told you that you did a fabulous job. If anything changes, I’ll let you know. LOL
    I have enjoyed reading the many compliments you have received this week and agree with all of them. They are true, just for you, to take to heart!!

    • Hi Lelia. You’re very welcome. No worries! I very much appreciate everyone’s compliments, but I’m happy enough just contributing. And, agreed, you’ll let me know if anything changes! LOL Thank you. ❤️ Enjoy your night. 🙋🏻

    • Lelia – Love the old man joke. Here’s one for you in the same vein: Old Yankee couple driving along in their Model-T. Wife says “Jethro, how come we don’t never sit close no more like we used to?”. Man looks over from the steering wheel and says, “I ain’t moved.”

      • Hey Steve. Do you both one better. 7:30 or so, middle aged having dinner. Phone keeps pinging (with all these posts hitting my email). No, it wasn’t on the table; it was on the chair next to me! LOL. Fool says. “Don’t even look at the ##** phone”! Sane one says, “Excuse me”? Foolish one then says, “You’re out of control with whatever this is”! Sane one gets up, takes my shoes, takes my drink.,,and takes Uber! Ba-Boom. Now the Mets are hitting, I’m sitting with Johnny Walker instead of said Fool, and for the first time today, all’s right with the world! Try and top that! 🙋🏻

  8. Steve, thanks for telling me about buying Elvis 45’s with your brother. What fun!! In high school I received only one dollar a week allowance. If a new Elvis 45 was out, I’d buy that. If not, I would go to the drug store’s magazine stand and buy the one that had either the most or best pictures of Elvis.
    No, no Janis Joplin. I sang Summertime at bedtime at a very slow tempo like a lullaby, softly & soothingly in my high voice but very muted.
    When I googled If You’re Looking for Trouble & listened to Elvis sing it, it sounded familiar but I don’t think I ever owned it. I mostly had 45’s and by the time he made that album, I had a daughter who was into Queen so I had to buy the sheet music for & learn to sing Bohemian Rhapsody with her. LOL

    • Wow! When you consider the lyrics, you were truly a dedicated parent to sing Bohemian Rhapsody with your daughter. That’s a long way from a church choir. Much like my mother putting up with Rock and Roll and the Beatles, although she actually seemed to like a lot of it. The only time she objected was when Paul sang, “Though she was born a long, long time ago, your mother should know.”

  9. I was hooked up on Kiosk too! Also, if I had paid attention to”the numbers looking better” I might have figured out it had to do with the heart. But kiosk got me .
