CARTOON ANSWER:

THE CHEMISTS ATE LUNCH EVERY DAY AT THE:

LPEBICRATEODI = PERIODIC TABLE

Mike, this one’s for you! 🍷

Good morning, everyone! Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β πŸ”¬Up and ATOM!πŸ”¬

“Who cares to define, what CHEMISTRY Β this is; who cares with your lips on mine, how ignorant bliss is…”
I hear the word Chemistry, and this is what I conjure up. The math-science-physics Chemistry? (See above: Ignorance)! With that being said, this puzzle! So simple, but oh so clever! I tip my (laboratory) glass to David! We may have seen these words before, but todays mix was good. Elope, Brick, Rather, (even with those pesky double consonants)? No MATTER. And lastly, Podium. I thought Opium, letter short, ah, Podium! These words were JOULES! Today’s SOLUTION: They were sitting at the TABLE! “Same time”, “every day”..the dialogue was so helpful; but the clincher was the chart on the wall: the Periodic Table! It wasn’t that clear in my paper, (even though it was in yellow), but then I looked on line and I couldn’t believe the detail! (I’m going to try and post the graphic). Β Major, Major props to Jeff. Crash course: Chemistry 101!

Here in NY, it’s rainy, windy, and raw. Spring has sprung a leak! Hopefully, it’s better by you. I wish you all a great day, and don’t take any wooden NICKELS!

Until tomorrow, πŸ”¬πŸ™‹πŸ»

  1. No problem other than having to back into podium. I’m investing in a magnifying glass today since I’m missing too much working on the paper version. Your funny puns are a great way to start the day, Angela.

    • Hi Caroline, good morning! Thank you for the sweet compliment. Trust me, even with a magnifying glass, you’d never see the detail in this. I do the paper solve and then look on line to see the details in the graphic. I can tell you how to get it. But, I wanted you all to see the minute detail, so I played around with the settings, and I’m seeing it on the page but not with my post! I don’t know what the H— i did! I’m a menace with this! LOL..πŸ™‹πŸ»

      • Thanks for showing us the table. I had no idea what was on the wall. I can find Jumble online, but I prefer doing the puzzle with just the newspaper, and I don’t want to miss any of the clues or fun details.

        • Caroline, I’m so glad it’s showing! Thank you for telling me. I don’t know if what everyone sees is the same as mine, because I have this “post power” or whatever it’s called, so I have 2 different pages open. I’m really playing it by ear…I never asked Mike how to get a graphic as part of the actual post. He gave me a crash course and I’m just winging it. I may have some way with words, but technical things? HA… A day late and a dollar short! That’s me! Yes, I agree. I’m old school, I like the paper way to do most everything, but you can see so much by looking on line, especially since it can be magnified so large. Isn’t this cartoon amazing, tho? All those tiny symbols? May very well be his best cartoon yet! Mike will be kicking himself! LOL. Have a great day! πŸ™‹πŸ»

  2. Caroline, I think it’s there…but BEFORE the post! And twice. I know this sounds ignorant, LOL…but can you see the graphic?

  3. Good morning. Angela,I enjoy your comments and your right telling Caroline that the magnifying glass will not help. The paper print is just too small. We are missing a lot by not using the computer. Podium took longer to get then all three words combined and I just gave up on the cartoon answer. I see how it would help rather than from the paper. We do miss a lot. “oh well”. Till tomorrow stay well.

    • Good morning, Paul. Thank your for the compliment. I enjoy the word play that can be associated with commenting. Yes, unfortunately the paper picture is way too small to see everything. Such a great cartoon. Podium caused everyone so far today to skip a beat! At least we try, right? Stay well also, and I hope you have a great day. πŸ™‹πŸ»

  4. I had the puzzle answer and the first three words in 30 seconds. I then had to back into podium over an additional 4 minutes. Glad to know that I wasn’t the only one to stumble on that one!

    • Good morning, John. Yep, Podium was out to get us all! But we perfectly prevailed! A little alliteration, just to shake things up! At least no one thought Opium, like I did. HA! “JUST SAY NO…” Enjoy the day! πŸ™‹πŸ»

    • John your slipping. You just made us inferior mortals feel like superior ones. For our sake it’s nice to see you struggle at times. It shows your human. Lol stay well everybody.

  5. EVERYONE: I’m not sure if you’re all seeing the graphic of the Periodic Table I sent. I tried adding it into the post, but no go; I’m still learning the ropes here. If you scroll down a little, you’ll see a box reading “NEXT POST”. Click on that and you’ll get the picture. Sorry if it’s causing any confusion. πŸ™‹πŸ»

  6. Just to be different, I struggled with rather. For some reason I saw two h’s rather than two r’s so came up with hearth which of course didn’t fit with periodic table which I knew had to be the answer. Once I got rather, it all fell into place. Some days my brain works more slowly than others. The print is quite small in my paper too especially on Saturday. For some reason that day’s puzzle is smaller than the other days of the week. I too prefer to do in on paper rather than on line. Have a good day everyone.

    • Good morning, Betty. Viva la difference’! And as long as the brain keeps working, who’s to judge speed? LOL. My paper has a decent size, but today’s cartoon is unusually good and unusually difficult to make out. Have you seen the graphic? If not, read what I wrote above about viewing it. It’s amazing! Wishing you a good day too! πŸ™‹πŸ»

  7. Ha Angela — Those words were JOULES??! ERG! I see that they have begun to DYNE at the table.
    Hope that doesn’t PRECIPITATE a re-VOLT.

Thought at first it was something like ‘laboratory bench’, but no ‘H’ available. Then noticed it was a table, looked up at the chart on the wall, ah-ha.

    • Hey Steve, you made it under the wire! I’m trying to get going, but I’m waiting on the dryer! (That rhymes)! Yes, JOULES! Aces, right? My best of the day. You got a few good ones in here too! Did you see the graphic? It came out on a separate page, I have to find out what I did wrong. Exceptional art work, right? Get back to you on the salt…I ‘gotta get shaken’! πŸ™‹πŸ»

      • While they were DYNE-ing, the radio could have been playing “Under Pressure” featuring Freddy MERCURY.

    • Steve, I’m rushing too much, I’m forgetting everything! Check my opening 🎢post🎢. What I consider my best so far…and….? Nothing? πŸ™‹πŸ»

      • ??? If the quote is a song, I don’t recognze it. Looks more like Shakespeare (This is how dumb my answers can be when I don’t cheat by using Google).

        • A knife to my heart..,πŸ’” One of my top 50 all time favorites. I really have to run. I’ll send the link when I get back. πŸ™‹πŸ»
