  1. Good morning everyone. Easy words once again. Didn’t need them to solve the puzzle; an often heard phrase. There’s a fish in the magicians glass! Must be white wine, goes with fish…. (Ba-da-Boom)…
Mike, the snow, how bad? Still pouring here . May have to join Harry in that search for an arc. Wishing everyone a happy and safe April Fools Day Saturday.,🙋🏻

      • I don’t think their arch would float very well, but maybe you could climb to the top to escape the water level.

    • Shades of the famous prank where the crew put a live fish in Ernie Kovak’s drink while he was playing Pecy Dovetonsils.

      • OMG, Mike! So sorry to hear this! NE part of the country….”N” ever “E” nding snowfall this year! Good luck. “Let’s be careful out there”. Said to be one of TV’s greatest catchphrases. Name that show….🙋🏻

  2. Was geared for a really hard one today. Snap!
Best April Fools Day I ever pulled….Rented office space from a small insurance firm ( I was independent Rep) when I left mid morning I told all of them that I had gotten a good commission check and would buy everyone lunch at the Chinese place. They all went and I didn’t.. Two of the partners thought it was funny, the third was pissed, for a long time!
Not sure why but always wondered if it was because she was female!

  3. Good morning everyone. I would have given the minute man a run for his money today. Thought both ends of puzzle was easy. I liked the reference with the wine glass Angela. But what is the best white wine to go with fish. Harry I don’t think it was because it was a female. I’m with her. I also would have been mad. Looking forward to Sunday. Until then stay well.

    • Hi Paul, good morning. The wine glass? Maybe that’s the April Fools joke, because it looks like a red wine glass! I just joked about the old white wine with fish rule….but who knows? Jeff is known for his subtle references, and I think we were all looking for him to give us something April Fools related today, right? (We need Mikes input here, he’s usually right on the money)! I’m hardly learned enough to speak on wine, but personally, I go to the Verdicchios or a Chardonnay with fish. My Grandfather made wine while I was growing up, way until my 20’s. His was the first red and white wine we drank. Anything after that somehow paled in comparison! The palate needed readjustment! LOL…Hope everyone has a great day! 🙋🏻🍷

    • I agree, don’t think it had anything to do with her being female. I’m female also and don’t think I would have been mad, just don’t find it funny. To me ,it just comes off as an unimaginative and pointless prank.

      • It was a riot….A prank is seldom seen as funny by the person being pranked. Me thinks getting mad about it just shows immaturity

  4. I think Harry Pudenda has been playing April Fools with all of us for quite a while. Please Google the word “pudenda” and you will understand.

    • Marlene, When someone is pulling a prank and you figure it out, that makes you part of the prank unless you blurt it out then no one else gets to figure it out. Sometimes I will tell you a story about the Isle of Man but you must promise to not tell anyone else if you figure the riddle out!

  5. I don’t time myself when I do the jumble but think I would have set a record this morning. For some reason, every word, including the answer, come to me immediately, as soon as I looked at it! I was a little disappointed since I skipped my Weight Watchers meeting this morning due to the weather and had a lot of time to kill.

    • Mary, I have done the Jumble and the Cryptoquip for years and am sometimes amazed at how I can guess at something I cannot figure out and it be correct. It just gets easier the more I do it. Then I get a puzzle that I cannot make a dent in and I feel absolutely lost! Stops my head from growing.

  6. Hi Mary and Marlene. and Paul, My first thought when reading that only the woman got upset over the prank was, “Huh,? You can’t be serious..Just because she’s a woman?” Gender bias? Are you kidding me? But then I felt, could this be Harry’s April Fools joke? Hard to tell when you don’t know the person. I really don’t know what to make of it! And, Marlene, as for the name, I thought the same thing! I was kind of shaking my head from the first day I logged on here! But being the new kid on the block….🙋🏻

  7. Mike et al, tune-in to The Voice on Monday, April 3, and watch for our long-haired grandson, Josh West, to compete in The Knock-Out Round.
Mike, easy solve, as you predicted. Thinking about you & your family and all that snow!!! Please keep us informed. See you tomorrow.

    • Thanks for the heads up, Lelia! I wish him all the best and am sure he’ll do very well. The snow is the heavy wet stuff and I haven’t even shoveled yet. I’ve had enough shoveling for the year and decided that I’ll push it aside and let it melt naturally as it will be in the 50’s next week. A couple days of rain expected as well so that’ll melt it even faster. Watching the Red Sox and looking forward to the start of the season tomorrow! I decided to order the MLB Extra Innings cable package this year so I can watch all the games. Have a great Saturday and enjoy the beautiful sunshine in AZ! 😀

      • Hi Mike — I did the winter version of that and ordered the NHL Center Ice. You’ll love it, but the local team is blacked out in the hockey package. If they think the Sox are your “local” team they may do that to you (hope not!)

        • Hey Steve! They do blackout the Sox but I can get them on a local channel so no biggie. I enjoyed the free preview last season so much so that they had me hooked and I just had to order it this year. $154.99 was a great deal — less than one trip to Fenway! 🙂

    • Do they actually do this show live, or was it taped??? I watched it last week, but forget what channel it was on.

  8. Angela and Mary, I guess we are the only 3 who find something questionable in what is obviously a pseudonym. And we are female! Go figure.

  9. Baseball is almost here, but need to finish up March Madness first. GO ZAGS!

Lelia, I’ll catch Josh on the DVR. Hope that it went well for him!

Like everyone else, easy one today!

  10. I noticed no one mentioned what appeared to be part of an April Fools prank in today’s jumble. This may be because it didn’t appear in all the papers. It did in mine (LA Times) and kind of threw me for a loop. The second CW (TRACK) had 6 boxes with 3 circles. Your job was to figure out where the 5 letters went in 6 boxes which could eliminate one of the circled letters. It definitely added a little fun to solving the puzzle.

  11. Sorry. It didn’t show it on the online version. I’ll have to take a picture of my paper and post it if I figure out how to do it

  12. Thanks, Mike, I enjoyed every word you wrote to me. Go Josh, go Red Sox, go away snow & shoveling!!! Somebody wrote that rather than seeing the first Robin, his favorite first sign of spring was hearing the sound of the bat hitting the ball after the first pitch of the season. I’m sure he meant HIS team hitting the ball.

  13. Rita, if I could answer your questions, I would answer them immediately, but the patents have carefully, at my request, kept info from me that is not to be broadcast. I use only the exact words I am given. As to the channel, it is different in some states. Please accept my apologies for this lame excuse and thank you for trying to find it!!!

  14. Ok, mystery solved. I’ve been pranked and it was a good one. My devious son very carefully with a very fine point pen drew an extra box. It was done so well I didn’t even notice. As I write this he’s still laughing at me. Do they accept 19 yr olds in military school? Payback’s a bitch as he will soon find out.
