Good Thursday morning everyone!  Today was another fun puzzle with MODEST giving me just a hint of trouble.  With all of the clue words solved it was on to the cartoon.  While writing out the clue letters, I noticed HANDS right off the bat.  DOWN was grouped all together for another super easy find and finish!  I thought it would be fun to include a close-up shot of each players cards so you could see exactly what they had.  Also while I was looking over the cartoon for detail, I noticed that Jeff draws 4 digits on each hand of his characters.  I notice this quite a bit in other comics and on animated tv shows (like the Simpsons).  Perhaps 5 would make the drawing less cartoonish?  That’s all I’ve got for today so I’ll see you tomorrow.  🙂

  2. Fun puzzle, did not need a pencil. 4 digits in the animated world is generally done for two reasons. The first is because in that small world 5 digits looks out of place. The other is becasue there is less drawing to do! The only character in animation that I am aware is on the Simpsons and that character is
    God. To signify that the Simpsons’ world is in a base ten instead of a base 8. If want to know more you will have to find someone a lot smarter that I am! LOL

  4. Good morning. Everything was easy except that I was stuck on modest. Solved the cartoon and then used the letters I needed to get modest. My friend called and said she had the entire answer in under a minute. I have notice that they have four digits. Think that’s a solid reason for the four. Stay well until tomorrow.

  8. Really enjoy everyone’s comments. Easy one today, I too was stumped briefly on MODEST. After solving puzzle the O and D gave me solution to MODEST, 1:30

  9. Solved the cartoon first and then backed into the clue words. It’s been an easy week. —-so far. You folks are so observant. I’ve never noticed how many fingers are on cartoon characters before but will pay attention now . Have a good day everyone.

  10. Hi, Mike! Fast solve today. Hardest word same as yours, Mike, was MODEST but it took only a few seconds more. Got the cartoon answer first. I noticed the 3 fingers & one thumb some time ago with 4 adults in the cartoon. I think two were drinking from cups and two using their hands as they talked, and I decided that 4 fingers would have looked too crowded.
    “I THINK a royal flush will win…” she says in a coy way while batting her eyelashes. Please!!
    Today’s forecast: 87 degrees with a few clouds & light wind. It looks lovely out there. We are looking forward to spring when our mom & dad Gambol quails will come into our yard with 6 to 10 little puff balls bouncing in a straight line between them. Adorable!!

    • Hi Lelia! I never noticed the fingers before in the Jumble cartoons but it was very obvious to me this morning. They updated our forecast for the storm and they are now telling folks to expect 8-10″ and to prepare for power outages as it will be the heavy stuff. We just can’t win!!!

    • That’s odd, Clay. I wonder if everyone else is getting my daily email? Hopefully someone will chime in to let us know. WordPress.com handles all the email particulars and there’s no way to check the subscriber list that I know of. Is your address case sensitive? Just a thought…

      • Mystery solved. It was going into the spam mail. So if anyone does have trouble receiving it, it could be that. Thanks for the idea though just in case it was my address. not case sensitive however.
